I hate Christmas.

Before you scream bah humbug, let me explain: my birthday is December 25th.

Birthdays were largely ignored, and the holiday lost its luster before I hit double digits. I didn’t get a birthday party—instead, my parents spent their energy planning a huge Christmas party.

So when the annual Christmas party rolls around again, it’s nothing more than an obligation to endure.

Until this year. Because this year, Nick O’Connor will be there. Bad boy extraordinaire. Brutally beautiful, he’s the strong and silent type. Also, my brother’s best friend.

When he finds me under the mistletoe, he might just convince me to fall in love with Christmas after all.

And him too, while I’m at it.

Disclaimer: Don’t let the cute cover fool you. Mistletoe Mistake is as steamy as it is sweet and contains scenes that will make you blush.

When I first read Amali Rose, I fell in love with her sense of humor and writing style. I am so glad that she stuck to her guns and is still writing her stories with the same flair.

Nick and Holly were wonderful. She hates Christmas. He’s hell-bent on making her fall in love with it (and him). And the lengths (ahem) he goes to are going to make you smile and laugh. From the mistletoe to the real tree … from secrets revealed to the bet … I smiled, laughed and just had a fantastic time reading this friends to lovers story.

Amali Rose really wrote a wonderful, sweet, yet sexy, Christmas story. I was thrilled with everything that she put down on paper. Mistletoe Mistake was a quick read for me because I couldn’t put it down. She had me invested in the story, in the characters and the outcome. Her character building was spot on. You understood why Holly hated Christmas. You understood why Nick felt that he had to earn her love. It was amazing watching the two of them come to terms with their feelings and hysterical watching them hide the truth. I loved the twist at the end and actually laughed out loud. And, the epilogue was absolutely fitting and brought the whole story full circle. If you are looking for a fun, light holiday read, Amali Rose’s Mistletoe Mistake is the perfect book for you.

This is exactly what I needed and didn't even know it!
After a year of stress and drama is this the kind f book you need, like no angst and just all the holiday cuteness. Holly is just all sass but still cute with how she is with her friends and family while still allowing her to be herself and stay true to who she is. I adore her because she believes in herself and her feelings, where so many woman just push theirs aside to please other people. Nick is literally butter couldn't melt in your mouth cuteness which I love because he brought out a happier side to Holly. These two really do complement each other in the best ways and with there being like .1% angst but the rest was all just super sexy times and cuteness I could not be happier with this one! I am also feeling a little more excited for the holidays now and have a craving for peppermint hot chocolate.
I can't wait for what Ms. Rose will be bringing us next from Greetings From Avondale but I am ready for it!
This is my honest and unbiased review.

4 Star review of Mistletoe Mistake(Greetings From Avondale #1) by Amali Rose
Amali Rose is a new author and if this short holiday novella is anything to go by then I have been missing out and as soon as time permits will look at other books by Ms.Rose
Poor Holly, her birthday is Christmas Day, so for all her life, her birthday has always been pushed aside as her family and friends celebrate Christmas and she has come to hate the day.
Having been in love with her brother’s best friend Nick O’Connor since she was a teenager, she is shocked to find him naked in her brother’s bathroom while she is house sitting for her brother and his wife.
This was a fun, entertaining read that certainly got me in the mood for the holiday season. I really liked Nick and Holly and the journey they embark on as Nick puts “Operation Hollymiss” in to action to bring back Holly’s love of Christmas and her birthday.
Nick has been through some hard times and it is thanks to Holly’s tough love that he has come through. He too has had feelings for Holly but has not acted on them. As Holly and Nick explore their feelings it made for some holiday magic.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

What an adorable Christmas story.

I needed this book. After the year we had, this novella was a breath of fresh air.
Sweet, funny, light and oh so lovely, I was embraced by the coziness of love during Christmas time.
Even being a novella, the story was deep enough, with a good background and I enjoyed every moment of it.

Nick and Holly brought us an unriquinted love, best friend's little sister/older brother's best friend romance. They melted my heart.

Filled with candy canes, Santas, Christmas trees, a somehow justified grudge and, of course, mistletoes, Nick and Holly made things light but they brought the right amount of depth to be relatable and leave me addicted.

The secondary characters were also wonderful and I loved their interactions.

Nick and Holly's friendship and connection were undeniable, their love and chemistry were ever growing and reading them was like watching unfold before my eyes the coziest, loveliest Christmas movie.

I’m absolutely swooning over Nick and Holly’s story. This was such an enjoyable light hearted friends to lovers read that had me hooked from the very beginning until the final words were written. The storyline is continuously strong and the details for all the characters within this book are just enough to connect to each one of them without overloading us with too much extra. Holly’s friends are characters themselves and I cannot wait to hear their stories in the future. Nick breaks my heart at times hearing about his past but witnessing the man he’s become put a smile on my face that wouldn’t leave. Although this story is wrapped around the holiday season I see this being a story everyone can enjoy any time of the year.

Mistletoe mistake.

What a great short Christmas story . Holly hates Christmas. Having to share her birthday with Jesus kind of puts a crink in things especially when knowbody remembers it's your birthday and only remembers Christmas. Nick her brothers best friend and the love of her life only he doesn't know that makes it his mission to get Holly to fall in love with the Christmas spirit and hopefully him as well . Little did they know there was a little magic happening behind the scenes . I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next installment.

Mistletoe Mistake is a perfect holiday novella.

It's a sweet, easy-to-read, fun and light story bound to get you feeling the holiday spirit.
Holly has hated Christmas ever since she was a little girl. It's not easy sharing the thunder of your birthday with Jesus. Who she doesn't hate though? Her brother's best friend - Nick.
Nick has been pining for Holly for a while now, but fearing not being worthy and scared of loosing his best friend he's been keeping his distance. Good thing a little elf has been working some Christmas magic behind the scenes...

4 stars and a candy cane.

Firstly, I wanted to start with... I love Nick, but not for as long as Holly has. These two... heart eyed emoji.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable read by Amali. She's done it again, with her heartfelt and entertaining storyline, and characters you can't help but adore.

Are you looking for a Christmas novella to get you into the spirit of the holidays but want something a little steamier than the “hallmark” Christmas books that are on the shelves? Then look no further. This novella delivers on the steam. I was feeling a bit “bah hum buggish” before reading this novella and now I’m much more in the Christmas spirit and looking forward to decorating and enjoying the season. There is forced proximity, brother’s best friend, steamy moments, and lots of Christmas vibes happening. For an extra epilogue that you won’t want to miss, sign up for the author’s newsletter.

Holly had the misfortune of being born on Christmas causing her to hate Christmas. Bah hum bug! She would prefer to skip the holidays and all the holiday festivities, especially her parents large annual Christmas party that overshadows her birthday. This year is different. Her brother’s best friend Nick will be at the party. And when there is mistletoe involved, magic can happen. Can Nick convince Holly to fall in love with Christmas?

Not my kind of book

Honestly I was looking for a quick, sweet, holiday-themed book. This fit only one of my criteria…Christmas. I was surprised at the language, which turned me off early on.

For those of you who like those sweet Hallmark Christmas movies, this is the book for you. And that’s a good thing - because we can’t get enough of those cute holiday stories. In Mistletoe Mistake, the first in the Greetings from Avondale series, Amali Rose shows humour and heart. It’s a very quick read and it’s fun - this book will definitely get you into the holiday spirit.

Holly hates Christmas and has since she was a kid. Her birthday is on Christmas Day and she always felt that she got the short end of the stick. While housesitting for her brother close to the holidays, Holly finds an unexpected roommate in Nick, her brother’s best friend, and Holly’s longtime crush. Yes, Holly has always liked Nick but she’s always been too shy, and too afraid of her brother’s reaction, to tell him how she feels. Nick is really happy to be sharing a house with Holly, because - you guessed it - he has feelings for her too. It’s a delightful Christmas miracle. Nick decides that not only is he finally going to make his move with Holly, but he’s going to do his best to get her into the Christmas spirit.

Seeing two fun characters that have a shared past finally come together is really great. Rose leads us through their emotional journey with funny and cute scenes. She also introduces side characters that we will most likely see in later books - I always enjoy when an author works to set up further stories. I really enjoyed this Christmas story and I know you will too. Mistletoe Mistake releases December 3. Thank you to the author and to Give Me Books PR for giving me an advanced copy, in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 Stars for Mistletoe Mistake (Greetings from Avondale #1)
This is a new author to me but what a perfect introduction to Ms Rose by reading her short novella set in the magic of the holiday season. I love Christmas and I really enjoyed Holly and Nick’s fun, entertaining journey.
Holly has crushed on her brother’s best friend Nick O’Connor for years and when she is house sitting for her brother she walks in on a very naked Nick and that’s when the fun and games begin.......
Holly has come to hate Christmas after all it’s her birthday and because it’s falls on a day everyone celebrates her birthday always gets pushed aside but Nick is determined to make her enjoy the holiday season and her birthday so he starts Operation Hollymiss. Will Nick have Holly falling in love with the holiday season and will he admit the feelings he has hid for so long from his best friends little sister......
I loved meeting the residents of Avondale, I loved the banter, the sizzling chemistry and I’m looking forward to next instalment in this series. If you love the holidays and romance stories I urge you to one click this gem.

4 Cranky Stars

I know several people with a birthday on Christmas or right before and it's true they get overlooked or get the dreaded Happy Merry Birthdaymas present. This is the case with Holly. Her family goes all out every Christmas and this has turned her into the Grinch. When she agrees to house sit for her brother she isn't expecting her lifelong crush Nick O'Conner to be there as well. He has a simple proposal for Holly let me help you fall in love with Christmas again.

I really liked this short holiday read. I was concerned for them for a hot minute but it all worked out. It's a sweet sexy holiday treat and I'm glad Holly found her love of Christmas and in Nick.

This book was a perfectly sweet read. It was exactly what I needed. The no angst sweetness with such likable characters. One of my favorite tropes is the brother/sister best friend. Holly is in the need of someone to come in & make her the center of their world. Nick was a wonderful H, sweet with the bad boy vibe. The chemistry added more likability to this holiday romance. It wasn’t the hottest story but was exactly what I needed without even realizing it. The behind the scenes puppet masters just made the ending. I am looking forward to the next book of this series.

I recommend this book. Told in dual POV.

Holly is anti-christmas anything but there is a reason for it.. Nick wants to change her kind. This a funny, emotional, sweetthat pulls you right in and keeps wanting more. I laughed, cried a little, and for these two and didn't want this book to end. There are a few twists you may not expect but by the end you will be smiling. It has all the family and holiday drama you would expect but with a steamy romance under it all. Can't wait to read what she has next.

This is the cutest novella! So fun to read and so well written. The characters, Nick and Holly, are so lovable. I love the trope of brother’s best friend! Both of them have secretly been crushing on each other for years. But they don’t want to mess up the friendship between Holly’s brother and Nick. Little do they know there is a little twist to that! You absolutely can’t lose with this book. It’s a quick read and has a hot, tattooed guy in it! What more could you want!?

He finally has a chance to once again win her heart. She isn't thinking love she's dealing with her lack of Christmas Spirit but he is the one who has never left her heart. It's a fun ride through the holidays as he helps her believe in Christmas all over again. He's gonna make a believer of her and win her back. A fun read that makes you want to believe and have this kind of fun too.

Mistletoe Mistake by Amalie Rose is a holiday romance. It’s the first book from the series «Greetings from Avondale».
It’s about Holly Curtis who hated Christmas and Nick O’Connor the former bad boy.

Holly Curtis had her birthday on December twenty-fifth. When noone turned up for her tenth birthday party because of Christmas she was very disappointed and hated the holiday ever since. Even working at her father’s company, Greetings from Avondale, didn’t change her
feelings. She tried to get out of the Christmas party for years without success. When Nick O’Connor, her brother’s best friend, found out about her hatred and the reason behind it he vowed to make her love Christmas. Of course, that’s not the only thing that happened since both of them had a crush on each other for years. One little mistletoe gave the opportunity for the love to bloom between them.

It’s such a funny romantic story. The storyline is simple, easy to follow, and keeps your interest. There are a lot of humorous scenes along with some very naughty ones. There isn’t any drama at all which makes it very pleasant. It’s focused solely between Holly and Nick.
We get a little background story of their lives which helps us understand them better. The characters are all amazing and down to earth. While reading it I felt like I was watching a mini rom-com.

I loved this book, Even though the holidays just passed I highly recommended you to buy it and I will rate it with 4.5 stars.

This is a first read for me from the author, Amali Rose. What a fun and cute story. It definitely gave me all the feels. Holly hates Christmas. Why wouldn't you when you have to share your birthday with the biggest holiday of the year?!

She hates Christmas but she does not hate her brother's best friend (and bonus family member) Nick. Nick has been in their lives since they were 6 and their crush on one another has been close to that long.

Through a series of events, Holly and Nick are thrown together at her brother's house while he is away. Tension is in the air as they navigate their feelings and what it would mean to start something special.

The bonus story is a must. This left me with all the feels and some relatable situations. I recommend this book!!

This book is so adorkable and I love how the author does put to use things that are mentioned instead of mentioning things and not going with it.
Although, I was totally expecting Nick to propose in the same way as the Friends episode that Holly likes (I’m keeping my lips sealed on whether he proposes or not). I do love Holly and Nick and what Nick does to make Holly fall in love with Christmas again.
They’re too cute together and I really want to know what tattoos he had especially since his left arm covered in a sleeve of tattoos gets mentioned repeatedly.
If you’re looking for an adorable holiday romance with a little bit of spice then pick up a copy.

This was another solid offering from this author! Holly hates Christmas. Her birthday is December 25th and everyone always short changes her when it comes to time and attention directed towards her. Nick is her brother's best friend and her long time crush. Will he be the one to change her mind about the holiday and show her the love and attention she has been missing? I really enjoyed reading their journey to happiness!

Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done ❤️

A very good Christmas story....25 Stars

Loved Holly and Nick's love story. Knowing each other for years, having crushes on each other, what could stop them from a happy relationship. Like and family plays a big part in all of it. It was a really good book. Loved the ending at her families home at Christmas. Thanks for a fun book. Written by Cindy :)

So novella this about a girl named Holly, who doesn’t Like Christmas. Her birthday is December 25th and growing up, Christmas often overshadowed her birthday. As someone who loves their birthday, I can see why she would have a problem with it.

She’s house-sitting for her brother and when she comes home that night, she finds her brother’s super hot BFF, Nick, in the bathroom with nothing with a towel on. Apparently, the plumbing is out in his apartment and needed a place to stay. Holly’s brother suggested Nick stay at his house so he can keep his little sister company.

Oh and does he ever! Lol. Another cute short read. I’m really enjoying these novellas for a couple of reasons. One, I don’t have the Hallmark channel so I can’t binge watch Hallmark movies. Two, I’m not a big tv watcher anyway so this way, I still get the feel of Christmas movies without actually watching them. And three, they’re short and sweet. No real drama.

Typical best friend falls for sister story

Well the story is a typical best friend falls for his sister story I found it to be funny. It was totally Exactly what I expected it to be, But I needed that kind of story today. The story had humor and well touched a sore spot from most children born either on or close to Christmas. I recommend this book.
