I loved this book!! This is the kind of YA contemporary I love.

As a senior myself, this was the perfect time to read this book. I had soo much fun reading it!

First of all, I LOVE the main character is this book! I related to her so, so much. I feel like we’d be really good friends if ya know, she wasn’t fictional.
Addie was awesome. She was real, raw, and flawed. I connected with her character so much. I love how she grows in this book. Learning to overcome insecurities with truth is such a hard thing and this book portrayed that so well. I really felt Addie’s awkwardness and insecurities from being a “nerd” on a personal level. I love how kindhearted she is especially in the face of people treating her wrong and hurting her. I also loved her humor. Yep, me and her would definitely be friends. She’s one of those kindred spirit characters and I loved reading her story!
I also loved Dean!! He was so, so sweet. Yes, there were times I was just as mad at him as Addie was. But… couldn’t help forgiving him ;)
I love his desire to help others. His selflessness and kindness really made him one of the best fictional male characters I’ve read in YA contemporary books. He was a gentleman. But I like that he still had flaws. He wasn’t perfect which made him more real and likable. Also, I love his family! And I loved seeing them in the book! Sometimes the parents are left out in YA but I loved getting to meet his. ❤️ His sisters are adorable!
Bec was such a great BFF. I loved her! Her and Addie’s friendship was really inspiring and fun.

Dean and Addie are soo cute and sweet! I loved it. I was definitely fangirling the whole time. I LOVED the idea of Addie getting out of her comfort zone and writing about chasing him in the newspaper. There were so many memorable, cute moments. And the ending!!! 😍 Ahhh! I can’t wait for book 2. *squeals*
Anyways, I really loved these two.

I love that this book isn’t just about Addie chasing the guy she likes. This book is so much more. This book is about Addie finding herself, realizing her worth. I just loved watching her grow as a person. Watching her go from living in the fear of her insecurities and standing out to her pursuing her dreams of being a writer and getting to know the guy she loves.
This book went deeper than I expected. There’s a message in there and I loved it!

Honestly, this was just a really good YA contemporary. I enjoyed the whole thing. I read it within a few hours.

This was cute, fun, and most importantly CLEAN.
I ended up loving it even more than I thought I would!

Can’t wait to read book 2!!!

3 stars!!! ⭐

ok so I originally picked up this book because the synopsis reminded me of the movie how to lose a guy in 10 days (which I absolutely ADORED) and I was satisfied by some things and not by others.

so! lets start with the things I liked!!!!
🩵the Christian elements such as church and prayer being mentioned made me sooo happy as a Christian!! ⭐💓
🩷 the fmcs character development! (I forgot her name lol) I hated her at the beginning but you could tell how much she grew by the end!
🩵 dean is such a sweetie 😘😘 and I loved that the non jock side if him was shown in Spanish club
🩷 I loved becs character and how she pushed the fmc to be a better version of herself
🩵 how she found herself at home most when volunteering! that was so sweet to me
🩷this book was funny!
🩵I liked the progress updates and her articles they were a nice touch and what especially gave it how to lose a guy in 10 days vibes

ok now the not fun part... the things I dislike (but the more fun part to write!)
🩷the fmcs (I rly need to remember her name haha) obsession with dean when he didn't know she existed. it was borderline stalker ish and gave me the creeps. Plus it was kinda cringe. I wish that she fell for him while writing the article but originally did it to write a good story and chose the most unattainable guy in the school. that would have upped my rating a lot
🩵sara. what else do I need to say. I hate mean girls. just because she has a awful home life doesn't mean that it's right to take it out on other people
🩷dean+sara/sarean (gag) I literally don't think someone that authentic could have fallen for someone that fake. it was very unrealistic. also was giving Peter k and Genevieve vibes from to all the boys I've loved before by jenny han
🩵long distance friendships... I have trauma 😁
🩷jax... what a creep I mean EWWWWW 🤧 HES SUCH A CREEPY GROSS BUM LAME EXCUSE FOR A HUMAN BEING (gags again)

will not be reading the next one... looks rly good BUT live triangles after she already ended up with one of them and me do NOT mix (referencinv lara jean Peter k and John ambrose McLaren again 😭😭)

anyways the book was entertaining but I wouldn't recommend it. it wasn't the best. lowkey disappointed because it LOVES the caught in chaos collection by jenssaa fayeth (go read it. now.) so to close this review I will edit the hashtag used at the end of her article #hopelesslychasinghim

What a cute book!

I didn’t know what to expect with this one. The synopsis seemed intriguing and so I took a chance. Sooo glad that I did! There were times that I was so invested with Addie’s emotions that I was feeling what she was feeling. Sad, angry, shy, less. All the feels. But after finishing it, everything seemed to fall into place and all the emotions made me realize that Addie’s experience is exactly how high school was. There was that insecurity and the fear to be yourself. I compared myself to a certain look and focused on one guy that I didn’t see any of the other men around me.

This was a great story to reflect and reminisce of my high school days. It was clean and sweet! Teens could read this as well as adults. Thank you for such a fun read!!

ESP ::

ENG ::

This amazing book reminded me a little bit about the best friend changing city in “Sleepover” movie.

It was fun, nice and heartwarming. Addie and her train of thought are genuine, real and authentic. Everyone can identify.

Dean is a nice guy and even though he makes a couple of bad choices, he’s really great and loves her.

I loved the book! My favorite thing was when Bec tells Addie that writing is frightening because it exposes you and there will always be haters. But doing it with your heart and not letting anyone discourage you was worth it. I really loved this and that’s how I feel every time I read a book. Maybe I will not like it but it’s always important to remember that there’s heart and exposure in the writing and being dismissive and hurtful is not the idea. There’s always a possibility of expressing an opinion respectfully. Anyway, I just ranted about that (:
