One day, a wondrous little dove, sheltered in a gilded cage, encounters a wild ominous crow, lone survival of his clan. In a world where human affection or hatred are both cursed, the little dove must find her freedom. [2020 Webtoon Short Story Contest Runner-up]
I followed this on Webtoons and was hoping to get a proper manga version of it. And it did not disappoint! The layouts really bring a depth to the story that can’t be done in webcomics.
I’m still amazed at how a short story can have me falling in love with the characters and the romance so quickly (such a sweet romance!). It’s not your typical bad boy/good girl - opposites attract story. I really loved how the dove was such a sweetheart but still had a lot of spunk in her, and a lot of hope. The crow really broke the bad boy mold; because he wasn’t bad, he was just wild, because that’s what he is, a wild animal. But he’s good, and you get that a few moments after meeting him. Instead of just flying off, he stops and offers her freedom. And it only gets better from there!
I would highly recommend getting the e-book copy to experience the story at its best. The story can stand alone, but I can’t wait for the sequel!
It may be on the shorter side but the art and characters completely make up for it. The art is simply gorgeous, very detailed, expressions on point, & character designs are unique. The story is super cute and wonderfully written. I’d love it there would be another installment in the future. I know the artist is still posting bonus content so hopefully another collected work 😆💜
This is so sweet and adorable. So wholesome. The art is DIVINE. The prints on Patreon are so pretty it's terrible to be broke. And the message, the impact of humans and civilization to trees and forest, home to birds etc.- The ML, or the Bird Lead (this sounds wrong), reminds me of my classic shoujo manga crushes.
Love this! I absolutely love the art work and the direction the story is going. I follow the creator on WEBTOON and Patreon, and she is just the nicest person.
It was such a cute little story, and really unique! I found it on Kindle Unlimited, through thousands of random graphic novels, and I'm really happy I read this. I believe it's also on webtoons? I'm not sure, but apparently :]
I read this on Webtoon and it is really cute. It was recommended to me and I gave it a go because of the art. This is a beautiful short love story between 2 birds( a crow and a pigeon). I really love the way the art was presented - it makes you think it is a combination of contemporary and fantasy. The birds are drawn as humans with wings most of the time and this makes the interactions so much more intimate and romantic.
It is a beautiful story and the atmosphere is great!
