I helped Rose escape her glass prison, but at what cost?

With each passing day it gets more difficult to tell fantasy from reality. Nightshade's warning of a curse keeps lingering on my mind. Can he curse me if he's dead? Rose should leave me behind. I couldn't live with myself if she died because of me. Gabriel rescued me, but now I need to save him. He's behaving strangely, but he won't tell me why. I need to cure him and defeat Nightshade's allies before time runs out, but how?

What if this is a battle we can't win?

This 20th century fairy tale retelling is filled with dark curses and a battle between humans and nymphs. If you liked Jen Calonita’s “Mirror Mirror,” you’ll love this second book in the Nymph's Revenge series. Buy Gabriel is Cursed today!

"If getting revenge for my people makes me evil, then it's a small price to pay." "If you do this, then you will be my enemy. I'll make your life a waking nightmare."

Get ready to be swept off your feet by this magical and dark nymph filled retelling of Rapunzel. This unique fairytale retelling is nothing like you have read before.

A Victorian world, good and evil nymphs, a boy cursed, and a determined woman to save the people she loves and the world as we know it from the dark nymph who seeks revenge. It's a tale that you'll easily get sucked into from the start and it won't let you go. It's one that sticks in your memory way after you finish reading.

Rose and Gabriel are two of the strongest characters that I have ever come across. Their love for one another along with their quirky and witty banter will have you adoring them. They reminded me of Thomas and Audrey from Stalking Jack the Ripper. They were that damn cute! Ugh! I know their story isn't over because I need to read more about them.

Gabriel is Cursed was an amazing read. The story engaged me from the start and I couldn't stop reading until I completed the book. It was a quick read with a fantastic storyline that never got dull. Highly recommend this read!

Gabriel is Cursed
(Nymph’s Revenge series Book 2)
by Julia Goldhirsh

Nymph’s revenge series brings readers a wonderful addition, Gabriel is Cursed. The second book of a series; a darker version of Rapunzel, retelling the fairytale in a rare and unique way; filled with angels and nymphs. A story like nothing readers have read before, in a world filled with both good and evil, curses, revenge, struggles, battles, redemption, fears, hope and action. Hold the raw and aching truths, where readers will get pulled into the storyline from the start to the finish.

Two very strong character main, that hold a love for one another and have a quirky and witty banter together, that readers cannot help but to fall in loving with the characters and feel the characters emotions. The cast of supporting characters help in building a believable storyline, and each works well within the story.

Ms. Julia is a very talented author, I have come to love, her writing capacities for showing the utter purity of her characters and emotional depth of her characters as if they are living individuals in our world. When an author takes a pre-existing story and tweaks it, changing it into their own different story; is truly an amazing and unique gift, worthy of being shared with the readers of the world.

Although it can be read as a standalone, I recommend starting with book 1; Rose is Spellbound, then follow the storyline. This is a different type of reading experience from normal fairytales, as Gabriel is Cursed, stimulates raw emotions, and deals with a powerful topic. Gabriel is Cursed was an amazing story to read, I could not put the book down once I started reading until I completed the book. These are my thoughts and feelings about the book and author. I recommend reading this book and series, well done receiving 5-stars.

Mercilessly immersive and powerfully emotional!

**Presented with an ARC by the author via direct download in exchange for an honest review.**

Written in the turn of the century, during the industrial revolution, this is a story of struggle and redemption, fear and hope. It brings together angels and nymphs fighting to live in a world with humans who couldn’t care less about who they hurt with their factories and ‘progress’. This book holds such raw and aching truths that you can’t help but devour every word.

One of the things I have come to love about Julia’s writing is the same thing that draws me in time and again to Stephanie Rowe and Bella Benz—the absolute purity and depth of emotion, as though the emotions the characters feel are living entities all their own.

For those who are coming to this book after reading the first one, you know without any doubt that this book holds everything you’re looking for and perhaps a few things you hadn’t thought of. To those looking at this book as a new read, let impart these few things upon you. First, although it can be read as a stand alone, I do highly recommend starting at the beginning and following the story through in order. And second, brace yourself. This will be an experience for you unlike any other.

Fans of Bella Benz, Stephanie Rowe, Brittni Chenelle, Jessica Feyden, and Megan Blackwood will love this book. And although this is a high/urban fantasy dealing with angels, nymphs, and humans set in the Victorian era, fans of Star Trek: DS9 will love this book for the way it evokes such raw emotions and deals with powerful themes.

This is the second book in the Nymph’s Revenge Series. I also very highly recommend reading the first book, Rose is Spellbound, so you can get more of Rose’s and Gabriel’s story ♥️ This story was full of action and you will definitely fall in love with Rose and Gabriel!! Rose has spent her whole life trapped in a greenhouse prison, so when she finally breaks free, she is a little naive about little things like street signs. I found that very enduring, and so did Gabriel 🥰 I think it really added to her character and made me love her even more!! Unfortunately, in rescuing Rose from her prison, Gabriel is cursed. Rose is unaware of this, but Gabriel would rescue Rose over and over again ♥️ The battle is still raging between humans and nymphs!! When Rose discovers she has nymph powers, she must learn how to use them, and band together with Gabriel and other nymphs, to win this war!! I highly recommend this book!! I very much enjoyed it ♥️

I always love retellings since it's interesting to me how the author takes a pre-existing story and makes it their own. Gabriel is Cursed is the second book of the Nymph's Revenge series by Julia Goldhirsh and a darker version of the story Rapunzel. I found this storyline really unique and fun with the funny banter between the main characters (Rose and Gabriel). It's set in a Victorian world with both good and evil nymphs. The love between Rose and Gabriel is strong and I found myself sucked into their struggles and cute moments.

This is book two of the Nymph’s Revenge series and sees Rose (Belladonna’s daughter and so half nymph) and Gabriel (fully human) still dealing with the aftermath of their run in with Nightshade. Gabriel thought he had killed Nightshade and put a stop to his aim to kill humans for destroying his home and forest, as well as loads of nymphs. But when they both go the library to do some research, Rose finds out that a nymph is not that easy to kill and only attacking his body was not enough. Roe goes back to save her mother from her wicked, drunken father, having been made to live out in the greenhouse for most of her life. Gabriel helps get her mother and then leaves her in his house, as the two travel on to try and find out what Nightshade’s army are trying to do and where they are heading. They are looking for a nymph disguising themselves as a human, with the hints they got from the library, but Rose is rather clumsy in her attempts. What she does learn, once they find him, is that they are in danger and that Rose is actually part nymph and needs to learn how to use her nymph powers, if they are going to have any chance against Nightshade’s army.
Gabriel meanwhile, has been hiding his nightmares and the presence and voice of his late wife’s ghost, which is leading him to lose time and for his mind to feel like it is breaking. He tries to keep all of this from Rose, believing he will be taken away and be put into an asylum and never let out. Rose has been completely isolated from normal life and society, so needs Gabriel to continue to accompany her and keep her safe. But the more she sees of the damage humans have done to the natural surroundings, to build their large and polluting factories and industries, the more she wonders if she is indeed fighting on the right side! They travel north to the city of Pennsylvania, where they have heard news of Nightshade’s plan to poison the waterways and kill loads of humans! Gabriel is struggling with his hallucinations and the voices he is hearing, day and night. He has to ask Rose and a friend she made, if it is linked to the Manchineel tree Nightshade forced him to cut into. He may have been poisoned, or cursed, the latter of which will be much harder to break. With Gabriel getting weaker by the day and Rose only just beginning to learn how to use her powers, from Belladonna, as a nymph, then they will be easily defeated by any of Nightshade’s allies and be unable to stop the danger to humans he has promised. More action to follow as the situation gets more complex. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Gabriel rescued Rose and hoped that they could get away but was warned that he’d be cursed if he did. He’d do it again to make sure that arose would be okay. Rose can tell, somethings wrong as Gabriel is acting strange. Will she have to curse him to keep keep their enemies away from him? This was a wonderful story and had great characters! What will happen next! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Gabriel is Cursed is a ya fairy tale retelling of Rapunzel. This version was a lot of fun to read and this series introduced me to Nymphs, which I had never read about in any other series I've come across before.
Gabriel has the kindest heart and Rose is loyal beyond words. This was a really nice read.
