It was summer 1983. The screen adaptation of Stephen king's Cujo was scarring movie audiences across America. In October the Baltimore Orioles beat the Philadelphia Phillies in the I-95 World Series. Four months later, our detective agency was hired to look into the death of a local named Chet Hosey. The D.C. Police ruled his death accidental. His brother thought otherwise. Join the Beltway team as they try to unravel one of their toughest cases to date. A case that leads to a nation wide manhunt, and lands lead investigator Brent Dulac squarely into the cross-hairs of alluring best selling romance writer Lilith Vettmore.
Most people start writing at a young age, and mature into seasoned writers. I waited until retirement, and began writing the stories that had been brewing in my head for over 30 years. As a native New Englander, my novels primarily take place in the eastern U.S. where I worked as a private investigator for a number of years. I have also served on the boards of directors for Citizens in Community Service, and Coalition Against Domestic Violence in Fulton County N.Y., where I also served as a police chaplain in the cities of Johnstown and Gloversville. I now reside in Alexandria, VA. My first novel Cob: Search For A Serial Killer was published in July. I have recently published a 2nd novel Twin Killing. My third novel Red Ink was published in December of 2020. I have now begun work on a 4th novel Contortionist. A star circus performer is being stalked. Our agency is hired to protect her. When not writing, I enjoy my retirement walking neighborhood dogs.
I love Dulac in these books he gets in situations that sometimes he can't get out of. The book was an easy read and to follow. Some new characters are introduced with made the story really interesting. I have to say other than Dulac I loved Talia in the story. There was just one part of the book that didn't sit right with me but then again it explains how cold these killers are they don't care who you are if you got close that's it. You know the old saying never judge a book by its cover.
Red Ink is the third book in the Brent Dulac series. The idea for this book is unlike any idea I have ever read in other book or seen on TV. Red Ink continues the Beltway Investigative Services (BIS) as the reader is introduced to a new serial killer. Although Red Ink is the third book in the Brent Dulac series, this book can be read out of sequence. The author does a great job of providing a book character who's who at the beginning of the book.
Without giving away any vital tidbits from the book, I will say I was impressed at the title of this book. The reader is taken on a ride across the USA as a serial killer carves up their victims. It was great to read about some new employees to the BIS team and how the team worked closely with the FBI.
As with the two previous Brent Dulac books, I found myself craving hot dogs as Brent Dulac has a fondness for hot dogs. The ending of Red Ink was one of my favorite endings of a book in recent memory. The last quarter of the book just flew by until it's climatic conclusion. This is an outstanding book!
