Myths & Millennials : A Book about Women for Men & Women

Rate this book
They say when you don’t find your favorite book write it, as a woman raised in this Indian society I have lived with myths on what to do, when to do and how to do ALWAYS told by people around, I decided to read books and everything is written by some super successful women who never ever lived my normal life, when I read some rebel books it suggested me to hate men and do things which is not me, to me trying to be a man is waste of a woman. I wrote this book for my younger self, for a lower middle class family grew up watching movies, heroes and ad films soaked with myths. You don’t have to become a fighter to live a great life, you just need to know what is a myth and what is reality, that is enough to move from the survival mode to the living and concequering mode, are you ready sister?

The book revolves around Myths followed blindly by everyone around us. I found the book very relatable and interesting. The author has beautifully inter-connected our everyday life examples and beautifully conveyed a message through each chapter. The book is divided into 13 Myths and all of them have been explained very well by real life examples and situations leaving a thought provoking message in the end. The book was short yet a very realistic self help book. The author has beautifully covered real life aspects ranging from comparing ourselves with others, self doubting ourselves to our career choices and how it is very important to follow what makes us happy and what is good for us in the long run. The author has beautifully explained the concept of loving and accepting ourselves because no one else will do that for us. We are in a constant rat race of proving ourselves to others, comparing ourselves with our peers and impressing others. The book was a thought provoking one making us introspect our beliefs and thoughts which we keep following because that has been told us without any logical explanation or reasoning.

Myths & Millennials is basically an attempt to fight all the myths that constant revolve around us. They could be in the form of entertainment, aunties gossiping next door, or Instagram. I mean, we basically live in a wonderland.

The book has 13 myths or 13 chapters, accompanied with beautiful and sarcastic illustrations. They definitely are like cherry on the top! The book is completely error-free, has great vocab, and is rather easy to read considering how impactful it is. If you're a Grammar Nazi, who think hundreds of time before picking up a self-published book, this one is a safe and great choice!

Undoubtedly, it is an excellent read. However, the one problem with the book is the author is judgemental somewhere in the book.
Of course, this is my comment. It doesn't mean that everyone should think about it the same way. Thanks to the author.
