A half immortal with the ability to wield the light and the dark powers, a villain tormentor, and a dragon rider to her rescue.

Her life shadowed with despair since her mother’s horrifying death, Ahnalyn grabs at the chance for happiness when a proposal whisks her from her bland life of tending sheep. But Lord Caedryn, a neighboring tyrant, takes her captive, and shatters all that is left of her brief happiness.

Ahnalyn can’t see past Lord Caedryn’s regular taunts, compounded by her misery in the cell. He seems to know Ahnalyn’s true ancestry, claiming her mother was more than she portrayed, claiming Ahnalyn inherited more than just her green eyes from her mother.

As Ahnalyn’s confusion reaches a climax, she gains a small hope of rescue from Aneirin, a dragon rider. But she’s so damaged from the darkness growing inside her that he fears not even the love from an immortal Son of Light can breach Ahnalyn’s darkened state and turn her from her quest of revenge.

Dragons, Light vs Dark, a true epic adventure story with a hint of love!

Everything about this book was beyond amazing. I love how everything unfolded. It makes you feel all kinds of emotions ups and downs. The characters are relatable and I think Ahnalyn's journey helped me in facing my own hardships.

I loved the fact the story arcs had a few different ones crossing over each other simultaneously, I love the fact all the characters had some depth behind them.

I loathed the Villain, but I seek to understand him more. I feel like there is something missing in his back story and I crave to figure out what that is.

When I read about emrys, the only thought that came to mind was merlin. But this story seemed to be about something completely different than I assumed but I still enjoyed it all the same. I mean who couldn't possibly love a story about dragons and their riders?

What an amazing book! Loved it from start to finish. Adventures, romance, drama, so many themes all in one book. The author did a great job of describing everything as I was able to picture it all in my mind. I love escaping into another world, and this one was awesome!
Ahnalyn is a half immortal with the power of light and dark. There is a war going on and she must defeat Lord Ceadyrn that is very powerful with the dark. She is his prisoner until the dragon rider, Aneirin, comes swooping in to save her.
Ahnalyn and Aneirin go traveling together while he is teaching her how to use her light powers.

"This is a brilliant read. Honestly it was beyond brillant. It is not often that I fall so in love with the characters. This is the type of book that you need to grab a cup of coffee (Or whatever) a blanket and cudle up in the corner and just let the author take over. The book was well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with and wonderful world building. I received this novel from BookFunnel and this is my honest review.

We have a great story with mystery, suspence, action, dark and light. Follow Ahnalyn's journey as she try's not to be consumed by the darkness. Can she get away from Lord Caedryn before its to late? How will she handle what truths she learns? Can she fight the darkness or is it to late? Is Aneirin to late?.

This was a pretty good start to this series. The storyline had a combination of action, suspense, mystery, intrigue and drama that drew me into the story. It had a nice flow to it that attracted me to the main characters, who had plenty of drama cast their way. I’m looking forward to reading more books in this series.

As the first book this was a wonderful fantasy adventure. It grabs your attention right away and you can’t stop until the end hoping to see where it will end! This storyline had action, adventure, intrigue and darkness! But a dragon helps lighten the story! It has great characters that pull you into the story. Wow! Just wow. This book had so much going on. I laughed and cried and got angry and happy just reading the story of Ahnalyn and her life. Her life was so full that I cannot even begin to go into detail. I stayed up almost all night to read to the end, and it is just the beginning. Definitely a must read.

CONSUMED is the first book in The Emrys Chronicles and we learn about a land with dragons and emrys. But they are part of a different realm, far from the mortal one that has been tainted by darkness. So what happens when the darkness tries to claim a soul that straddles both worlds?

I thoroughly enjoyed this story - from the very beginning, right through to the end. I knew Brenin wouldn't be in it for long, simply because of how the story skipped along. The backstory of the others was brilliant, adding a depth that I enjoyed.

There was plenty of action and adventure here, with a healthy dose of revenge. The big ending caught me by surprise (as it is meant to) but I loved it. The reason for 4-stars and not 5 is simply because of the speed of Aneirin's declaration of love. I would have liked to have seen more development between the two, even though I understood why.

A brilliant start to the series that I can definitely recommend.

I have read this book over and over again, and love it even better since the author made updates and put the book in first person! Even upped the steam and tension.

I just love Ahnalyn and Aneirin. And their dragons. I love the whole immortal emrys thing and how they harness powers with the light. Some secrets unfold and weird stuff goes on when it comes to family relations near the end of the novel, but when I think about it, it’s not that weird.

I just love the chemistry between the two characters. And the dragons are pretty funny too.

I look forward to reading more in this world.

Skipped through the book to get the gist of the story. Not engaging. Didn't hate it, but didn't like it either. Don't need to revisit.
