He’s the same age as my son. He's my son's best friend. I can’t cross that line.
Fireman Sharky Jones is the alpha everybody loves. He’s everyone’s best friend. The divorced single dad raised his son, now twenty-six, all by himself. Since he focused all his attention on his son, Daniel, his love life is now a distant memory. He’s forty-four years old, and his kid doesn’t need him anymore. What’s he supposed to do with the rest of his life?
Kurt Summer’s has been Daniel’s best friend since kindergarten. When his abusive parents got too out of control, he’d have sleepovers at his best friend’s house. He always felt safe at Sharky’s house, and he knew the older alpha would never let anything bad happen to him. Kurt has had a secret crush on Sharky since puberty hit. He’s kept his feelings to himself because he didn’t want to make things awkward with his best buddy by crushing on his dad.
Looking up to Sharky has always been easy. Kurt even became a fireman because he respected what Sharky did for a living. When he’s transferred into Sharky’s department, the two men become even closer. But Sharky isn’t comfortable crossing lines with a kid the same age as his son, and even if he could get past the age thing, Kurt is his son’s best friend. He can’t risk alienating his son.
When Sharky fosters a four-year-old boy, whose parents are killed in a car wreck, Kurt volunteers to help him out. Sharky has always thought of Kurt as a kid, although he can admit he’s had some very confusing sexual feelings since Kurt has started spending so much time with him.
Things are getting complicated. Kurt is aware of the hungry looks Sharky sends him, although the alpha never makes any move on the younger omega. But Kurt isn’t willing to stay on the sidelines anymore, and watch Sharky date other people. He’s not the child Sharky thinks he is, and he’s ready to make his move.
This 82,000 word story is book seven in Beau's Red Sky, Texas Mpreg Series. It's filled with older men in love with younger men, angst, male pregnancy, smexy times and all of the warm fuzzy feelings you expect from an Mpreg romance by Beau Brown.
Good story, took me a little while to really get into it. Loved the couple, and that they kept T. Wish I knew a little more about rather or not the aunt came back. Nice story over all. Smexy was hawt, and I’m excited to see D eat his words and get his story
This was book 7 in the "Red Sky " series. Omega Kurt Summer has returned to Red Sky after being transferred to the fire station he grew up in Red Sky his best friend lives there and Sharky is there. Alpha Sharky Jones is a firemen who was a single father he raised his son Daniel after his wife left him. Sharky is lonely after Jace friend zoned him. When he sees Kurt in a bar he is interested until he realizes Kurt is his sons best friend. Kurt has been in love with Sharky since he was a teen he didn't have the best childhood he grew up with an alcoholic father and a neglectful mother. Sharky was is hero he would hide at his house when things got bad in his house. This was a really good read. Sharky gets a surprise when he finds out a friend of his died the mans sister drops his four year old son Toby off to him. Kurt was really good with Toby who is afraid of Sharky when these two start hooking up Kurt is hoping that it is going somewhere it all ends when Daniel comes home. This was a good read and one of my favorites in this series. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book.
Alpha Sharky Jones has his heart broken by an omega in a previous book, but he was clearly in love with someone else. Being a firefighter took up a lot of his time and he rarely went out anywhere. The fire department would be receiving two new firefighters - one being his son's best friend. Who knew that saying yes to a night out with the team at a local bar, may result in the beginning of a new life for him. He'd relegated himself to being single and a single parent to one adult child, Never in a million years did he expect his life to take a turn in the form of a child to his now deceased former coworker, an omega half his age that knows what he wants, and a new baby. Talk about a shock into a world both new and familiar.
Omega Kurt made a transfer back to Red Sky. He'd missed home and his best friend. With both of his parents now deceased, he could finally begin to have a moment's peace. There was definitely another motive to the return - in the form of an alpha named, Sharky. He and his son, Kurt, were best friends since they were kids and he held a huge crush since his late teens. Every alpha he dated could never measure up to the fantasy that is Sharky. He knew what he wanted and was determined to go after him.
After a chance re-introduction at the bar, both knew it would be easier said than done with working in such close proximity. Sharky regularly referred to Kurt as "kid" and it was a way to deny he was a man, not think about what his son would think, and to suppress his feelings. Fate, lust, desire, and the need for family managed to get a foothold. A little boy named, Toby, was also a huge help in this department since he immediately responded to Kurt but felt apprehensive around Sharky.
~I was both saddened and disappointed in Toby's aunt. Tammy had her own share of struggles, which deeply affected her nephew. That is one of the pieces that may not be answered.~
Beau outdoes himself with each new addition to the Red Sky series. Sharky and Kurt had such a beautiful world building about coming to terms with loving someone regardless of age. It was not easy for them to become a family unit, but once they did, all the pieces fell into place rather quickly. Many twists, turns, tears, and laughter. Enjoy!
Please let there be another book and this time, for Daniel, Sharky's son. He is more than ready for his happily ever after.

This book is a sweet read and is has a lot of angst to get through before you reach the HEA...but it's worth it. Kurt a young experienced fireman moves back home to Red Sky. His parents are finally dead and he can feel safe in returning. An abusive childhood led him to his best friends house where he stayed as often as he could. Feeling protected and safe in the care of Sharkey, Daniel's dad. Lust and an absolute knowing that Sharkey is the only alpha for him, his return involves his hope for a relationship with the older fireman. Sharkey is attracted to Kurt, but lets his fear of his age and what his son Daniel will think get in the way. Then a small boy, Toby, gets dropped into Sharkey's lap. He's not prepared and doesn't want the responsibility anymore, Kurt steps in to help out. Will Sharkey let Kurt into his heart? Or will he leave the young man and Toby out on the "stoop" of his heart?
So delightful, I read it twice the first time. Kurt, returns to Red Sky after an 8 year absense. His Father recently died the past week. His Mother had already passed the previous year. He escaped his abusive neglectful parents as soon as he turned 18. He was in contant contact with his best friend Daniel. He was in love with Daniel's Dad, Sharky. Kurt, was a replacement firefighter in Sharkey' house. He was wary and excited to be working with his hero, Sharky. Sharky, was surprised and interested in working with his son's friend. Then, he noticed Kurt was a man. An, attractive, sexy man. Kurt, was trying to strategize how he could work with Sharkey and maybe more. Then Toby came into their lives. Can Sharky get over the age hill? Will Kurt get brave and let Sharkey know his feelings. Will Toby create a bigger hill? Great story. The author did an excellent job with all the characters. Well done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Loved this one so much! After meeting Sharky in the previous book, 'Selfish-Boy' I was impressed. He's a wonderful man that gives so much to others but he has some things that trip him up. He allows those fears to keep Kurt at arm's length. His concerns are understandable but his reactions to them hurt Kurt and Toby as well as his son Daniel. I liked that Kurt just laid everything he was feeling out on the table, telling Sharky what thought, felt, and wanted, and then waited patiently for Sharky to decide. Toby broke my heart and made me smile. I wish there was just a bit more about making him a permanent part of the family and bring Aunt Tammy into the fold as well. Maybe Beau will give his fans a follow-up? I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Kurt finally returns home after eight years and he's in love with his best friend father and fellow firefighter. Sharky has no idea how Kurt feels about him until a young boy brings them together. Sharky is asked to take care of his friend's son after the niece can't take of him anymore. Kurt helps Sharky out in all ways and eventually, the truth comes out how he feels about him. They decide to start a relationship and keep it from Daniel. They also receive a surprise later on in the relationship. The book is sweet, romantic, some angst, friends to lovers, May/December, and I enjoyed this book.
One really shouldn’t judge this book by its cover and the basic description haha. It’s a good read, but the only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is it leaves a lot of plot points open and untended to. I also think there should’ve been more to their relationship dynamics than making peace with the age difference. I could tell they needed to grow together more, if that makes sense.
But I love their little family, Daniel is funny and I hope I get to see him find his mate in one of the later books. I’ll surely read that one.

I love the Red Sky Series. Beau Brown is a wonderful writer. Sharky is a forty-year-old fireman who finds himself falling in love with his son’s best friend Kurt. He fight’s himself and his desire for the younger man. Kurt feels the same way. He’s tired of being seen as Sharky’s son best friend. He wants Sharky to recognize the man not the boy. Add in a cute kid, light angst, and hot times and you have a great story.
This is a sweet older man / younger man MM romance with strong characters in Kurt and Sharky along with Little Toby. The author gives them a hot chemistry and delivers a romantic friends to lovers romance. First Sharky has to get over the age gap and the fact that Kurt is his son's friend. It's well written with detailed scenes and is an enjoyable read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Young Boy was a great addition to the Red Sky, Texas series. It's the seventh book in the series. Don't worry, though; the books can stand alone. I haven't read the rest of the series, and I didn't feel lost at all. Sharky and Kurt were great together once Kurt got Sharky over the age difference and caring about what other people would think. Tody was a delightful addition to the family.

The first 10% of this book seemed to move a bit slowly but that was just a blip on the radar in comparison to the quality of the whole book. I thought the book was fantastic. The author wrote such great characters. I was an emotional basket case over Toby and I swore I could feel Kurt’s hurt in my own heart. Just really well done. The most emotional book in the series but really worth every single tear for a wonderful HEA.
I’m so glad Sharky gets his story. I really loved his character in every book he was mentioned in. This was such a beautiful love story, my heart went out to Kurt. But little Toby stole my heart all together, he was the best little boy...They all deserve love and a family
I loved this book so much! Sharky and Kurt are such a great couple! This is definitely one of my favorite genres, so I really enjoyed reading this book. Cannot wait to read more from Beau Brown! 10/10 recommend!
Kurt comes back to his home town to face his past and to see if he still has feelings for his best friend's father. Sharky wants to settle down and when he sees Kurt he thinks he has might feelings for him but he thinks Kurt is too young for him. I really enjoyed this book.
I love the Red Sky series! I really enjoyed reading Sharky and Kurt’s story! I wanted to knock some sense into Sharky there for a while but he finally gets his head on straight and Kurt just has a big heart! I can’t wait for the next book!
Completely in LOVE with everything about this book...even during the sad times of the book I couldn’t stop reading even with tears in my eyes! Perfection!!
I really loved this book and have to say this was actually my favourite out of the series so far. I love how Sharky gave into his feeling for kurt took them long enough.
