A Frienemies to Lovers, Shifter, MPreg-Possible Love Story.
Presley's late teen were filled with one horror after another. Kidnapped, forced to mate two shifters he didn't want and nearly a third, impregnated and abused in almost every way, he's definitely been through it, but three years out of being rescued by the CREA, he has worked hard for the life that he has, but he has a home, a beautiful son, a job and friends to show for it… and he has Fields, even if he's too damaged to ever even think about having a relationship with the gorgeous raven shifter who drives him absolutely up the wall while also making him crave a life he can never have. When Fields offers to mate him to keep him protected from whoever is trying to track him through his chosen mark, Presley adamantly refuses. Nobody should be saddled with his baggage, especially not someone so full of life like Fields, even if it is one of Presley's secret wishes.
Just Winging It is book 2 in the my new MPreg possible series. It is a spin off of the Chosen series, and involves a whole new generation, but will of course have cameos from some of your favorite Chosen characters as well as some Terra Mortis characters. I consider these books MPreg light. Meaning, though pregnancy is possible, that does not mean it will be in every book. Each book contains a new couple with a guaranteed HEA, but if you want to know what is going on with the background plot, it is suggested that you read them in order!
Despite how short this is, it was almost a 4 star for me. I give it a solid 3.5. You're introduced to Pressley, a poor Chosen who was SA repeatedly and mated twice against his will, resulting in a child. Fields is the shifter who found him, and would do anything to prove to Pressley he can take care of him and his child. It was grittier than the rest, less fluffy, and I would have liked to see more about Pressley, his background and what he went through in captivity.
I think this is one of my favorite Light stories so far! (I also think I say that every time I finish one, but they're all just so good it would be impossible to actually pick a favorite). In this one we got more worldbuilding than I think we've seen in the past, which was a wonderful addition (including how FF pairings work), and just made me more in love with this entire universe Light has created. While this series is the second generation of Chosen children, these two are not children of any of the original characters, but I found myself falling in love with them quickly all the same. Light and fluffy like all of Light's books, but with enough mystery and intrigue to keep you hooked and wanting to know what happens next. (Also, this particular series is amazing because you get to meet and fall in love with new characters, while revisiting old favorites and seeing how they're doing!).
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the kids' series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or 'Liberty' from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times a year (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok). It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
Love this Couple! Just Winging It is the newest book in the CREA series by J.D. Light. This is the story of Presley, a Chosen and Fields, a Raven shifter. These two had one of the sweetest stories I have read in a long time. They first meet 3 yrs earlier when Fields is part of the team that saves Presley from his long term captivity. Flash forward where Fields is helping Presley raise his 3 yr old son. These two just can’t see what is directly in front of them, mainly their love. Presley doesn’t think he’s good enough for Fields, with his history. He thinks Fields sees him as a victim, which is the furthest thing from Fields’s mind. Fields just sees the strong and proud man he has loved since first sight. We also get to revisit with some friends from Terra Mortis, which is always fun! If you have not read the previous books in the Authors multiple series,, I highly encourage you to start with the Chosen and Terra Mortis series, otherwise enjoy this trip revisiting former friends and meeting new ones! Can’t wait to see what comes next!
He can't want you, can he? So why does he want to mate you?
This is a stunning second CREA book! I hoped I was right & this would be Fields & Presley's story. Ta- da... it is! From a rescue, a birth, glowing chosen marks, and a threat from a rogue witch, this book has it all. The whole crazy leap is here, along with a few new, just as crazy friends. Everyone knows Fields is head over heels for Presley... except Presley. It will take everything Fields has to convince Presley that he is his mate, and to let him claim him. Rounding out their family is an adorable three year old boy. Come. Join Fields and Presley on their journey to HEA. You won't find wall to wall sexy times; but when it happens, it is well worth the wait. You are gonna love this sweet, sexy story. Get. It. Now! I can't wait for the next book! This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
If I were any emoji I'd be the one with heart eyes. Fields and Presley may just be one of my favorite couples.
They were so achingly sweet together that I simply could not put the book down. I love J. D. Light's ability to form the most perfect and funny little couples. I have never read a book of J.D's that left me feeling anything less than satisfied.
J. D. Light wording is always witty and sweet with a pinch of drama, some low angst and insta-love by the pounds.
If you enjoy a good MPREG book I highly recommend J. D. Light's books. I also recommend reading all of them from the very start (chosen series) and even diving into her (terra mortis) series as well in them you will meet some really amazing and quite frankly hilarious friends and couples.
I enjoyed reading Fields' and Presley's story. They danced around their relationship for so long, until they finally realized what everybody else already knew - that they were made for each other. I am loving this series so much. I like revisiting old friends from The Chosen and Terra Mortis series - Young, Shawberry, Cross, Bennett, Larin, Briec to name a few. This is another series that makes me laugh and smile. Kudos to J.D. Light for another amazing series.
I’ve never met two more adorably oblivious characters than Fields and Presley, who are clearly made for each other but take a little time to figure it out for themselves. With J.D. Light’s signature humor, I was able to laugh through this sweet love story while also falling in love with such a protective and sweet character like Fields, and a strong and fierce character like Presley. As the world expands we are introduced to so many new characters, and I can’t wait to see where the series goes. I think J.D. Light is hitting it out of the park with this new series!
Presley & fields has loved each other from the moment fields rescued Presley but he doesn’t think he’s enough for fields! Fields has been trying to show Presley how much he loves him and that he’s enough! Dixon is to darn cute and their little family is so cute, I love these books so much and how everyone always gets their happy ending! They are super sweet and always puts a smile on my face! Can’t wait to read about drew and Harper!!!😀❤️
Fields and Presley's story is an enjoyable romp in the Chosen universe. From Purdy to a wintery cabin in Montana to the sunny Carribean of Terra Mortis. The witch who is hunting unMated Chosen has set her sights on Presley and it's up to Fields to protect him. The easiest way to protect him would be to give him a Mating bite. But Presley doesn't want to steal Fields from a future Fated Mate. Misunderstandings and unrequited love. Another JD Light winner. But that's a given.
Loved the start to this book. Once I read further into the book, I realized that I need to go back and reread the chosen series because I was a little confused on some of the characters. That being said (which is my problem, not the book or author’s fault), I thought the main characters were cute and sweet and I really wasn’t ready for the story to end. Good job!
I find these books seem to try and be edgy with dark backstories and implied danger but it is mostly fluff and nothing is ever really tense. I know the witch is a theme through the series but I didn’t really feel any danger. There are a lot of characters that I think are tied to other series so some of them are talked about like we should know who they are. I did like the romance and that they didn’t rush.
Presley and Brooks are adorable. I loved their story. It was fun watching them find each other and get together. This was a fluffy and fun book and I enjoyed it. I loved seeing all the characters from the original Chosen and Terra Mortis series. This is a great addition to the series. I can't wait for the next one.
Presley has had a very heartbreaking background, so Fields tried to keep him (and his son) protected while also dealing with his strong attraction to him. Later they realize that they are true mates. This was so cute sweet and humorous with a lot of exceptionally engaging characters. Very delightful and fascinating read.
I haven't read all of this world so I miss out on who everybody is but you catch up pretty quickly. Presley and Fields were all kinds of adorable and their journey was a long one full of miscommunication and a few will they moments but ultimately they finally realise after 3 years what they mean to each other. Pure fluffiness and a slight bit of thrill wrapped up in sweetness.
Another satisfying addition to the world of the Chosen. I love seeing all the old faces including Terra Mortis faves. I did love the featured couple in Just Winging It. Raven shifter Fields was protective of chosen human Presley from the beginning when he rescued him. As always looking forward to more
I cannot say it enough, I love the Chosen/ Terra Morris world! Presley and Fields are a wonderful additions and I lo ed all of the silent yearning on both sides until they got their act together and realized they were meant to be. Another great addition and I patiently wait for more of these irreverent, laugh out loud, love stories from J.D. Light!
I was a little worried during the first chapter that there was going to be a lot of back and forth inner monologues but there wasn't. I like the relationship between these two and I am happy about the way the story with this tracking witch is developing. Can't wait to read more!
Presley’s situation is less than ideal when he meets Fields, but the trust inherent in their relationship from the beginning is palpable. Their son is so cute and watching the two fall in love was sweet! Loved it!!
After reading Bearly Getting It, I could not wait for Presley and Fields' story and I was not disappointed! I adored these two men and their three year journey to a happily ever after. This book was filled with humor and love even in the midst of an evil witch hunting The Chosen.
Loved this story so much as always the characters are fun and exciting full of so much fun adventure. The storyline was great and another chosen is mated. Great storyline from start to finish can’t wait for the next book.
If anyone deserved his Happily Ever After it was Presley. Fields was his perfect protective match. The antics of the other characters were amusing and I'm looking forward to more.
Dixon the glue that holds Presley and Fields together. Dixon became Fields son at birth without them being biologically connected, and Presley just as connected.
