Technical Threat

Rate this book
His job’s at stake, but she may prove to be an even bigger technical threat to his heart.

Tarron has met his match with a ruthless cyberhacker who has a personal vendetta against the Raglan. When she breeches Westin Force’s security Tarron must move in to stop her. That proves easier said than done when his Nonna steps up to help and meddle in his love life.

Meeting his true mate was not supposed to be part of the mission. But then again, having Nonna tag along wasn’t exactly how he envisioned his first solo assignment either.

Susan Duncan had finally broken away from the miserable life she led. She had been happy away at college, but then her younger sister Sonnet disappeared. Susan dropped everything and gave up her life to support her mother and two remaining sisters. But she never stopped looking for Sonnet.

Four years passed as Susan worked tirelessly each day under the strict demands of her mother then stayed up each night searching every lead possible to find Sonnet.

Her reality wasn’t a pretty one. Her days of believing in fairytales and true mates were long past when suddenly her mysterious true mate appears and promises to rescue not just her, but her sisters as well.

Can this Cinderella break down her own stone walls to accept the help of her potential Prince Charming? Or will is she be doomed to live in the dungeons of her mother’s warped reality forever?

Does not disappoint!

I have to be honest I wasn’t really that excited about Tarron’s story. I have nothing against him or anything but I wasn’t jumping at the bit to read it. He was always a background character that never really stood out for me. That being said. I absolutely love this story. I love this book from the beginning to the end. This Author was my first in the PNR genre and she created a monster! I am a huge fan of hers and Westin feels like family to me at this point. It had some surprise moments that really had me laughing out loud and some lows that had me in actual tears. Finished this book in record time because I could not put it down. I’d recommend this book and all others in this world. Amazing Author and solid story! I received an ARC for a review but honestly I’d have left one anyway.

Honestly, this was my favorite of the series so far. It's lowkey and steps away from the overarching story just a tiny bit, but watching Tarren fall for her and not even fight it was so fun.

She does it again! Another outstanding book

I must confess something. Each time Julie Trettel puts out a new book I get both excited and nervous. Excited because I love the universe she has created with the Westin Pack, but nervous because I have such high expectations of her books and I am afraid that I’ll be let down. But I should have known better because Ms. Trettel has never ever let me down. Technical Threat had everything I’ve come to expect and love from Ms. Trettel - dynamic characters, compelling storylines, a rainbow of emotions and just pure enjoyment. Technical Threat offered a different take on the traditional romance. Instead of the will they, won’t they fall in love storyline, we get a couple who accept and embrace their “true mate” connection. Instead we get to see how two different people who barely know each other grow and learn to work together as a couple to find their happily ever after. I really enjoyed this type of story. I also enjoyed the continued visits with other characters in the Westin Pack who have worked their way inside my heart. I am so grateful that Ms. Trettel continues to find more characters and storylines in the Westin Pack because I don’t ever want to leave.

Hacking has never been so romantic! I know I probably shouldn’t say this (since there’s at least one more book to come) but this is my favorite book in the series! I love Julie Trettle and the variety of shifters she gives to her readers. I absolutely adored the chemistry between Tarron and Susan. The flow between the two of them was captivating. In past books by this author, I have become somewhat frustrated with the pace the couples move but these two were almost love at first sight!

The main characters in this book were excellent but the side characters definitely made a lasting impression Tarron’s Nonna and Susan’s family were entertaining even though I found myself yelling at some of them… repeatedly.

Julie gave a spectacular book and like past books the immediate mission was accomplished however the bigger mission is still not and the curveballs thrown in this book has me wanting to read the next book more and more! Silas’ story is going to be EPIC!!!! I also hope the Echo team has a series because I believe every shifter needs to find their true mate.

Tarron is part of the IT team for Westin Force, his job is to protect their information. A cyberhacker has hacked in again and Tarron is on the hackers trail. Tarron gets permission to follow up and find the hacker, as long as he has someone to go with him. As a last ditch effort he gets permission for his adopted grandmother Nonna to go with him. Nonna is a character and she loves the road trip but she wants to stop at every attraction and rest area. Tarron only has a week for this road trip and at the rate they are traveling now they will get where they need to be only to turn around and drive back home. Tarron meets a waitress who is his true mate and in the heat of passion they complete their bond. Susan has a couple of secrets she hasn't told Tarron yet and she also has a back story that is heart breaking. Tarron gets a few shocks along the way as Susan's secrets are revealed. I love this book, the story is original and captures your attention from the first page. This is a must read if you love shifters.

Loved Tarron and Susan’s story! I couldn’t put it down.

This was my first Westin Force story and it was so good! I’m going to have to go back and read the rest.
Julie did an amazing job of making this book work as a stand-alone while fitting into an already established world. I didn’t feel like I was too out of the loop not having read the other 3 books and I loved getting to know the other characters in the WF world, knowing I can read more about them in the other books.

Julie does such a great job if drawing you into her characters lives and bringing them to life. I absolutely loved watching Susan grow throughout the book and see her and Tarron fall in love, her sisters start to flourish and get to see the sweet relationship blossom between Nonna and the girls.

If you like shifter books, missions, HEA, true mate stories and a sassy grandma, go grab a copy for yourself and read it today!

A Standard Military-Shifter Paranormal Romance that is far from Standard

Tarron has been aggressively adopted by Nonna, giving him the found-family he always needed and her a reason to keep connected with the greater world. Doesn't matter if she is an ancient wolf shifter and he is a foxy technical wizard, together they are the family they always needed.

I SIMPLY HAD TO READ THIS ONE. Their relationship intrigued me.

Then we add a romance for Tarron on top of that as he investigates a hacker into the Westin Force system. Taking Nonna as backup because all his military buddies are busy gives them alone time until he finds his hacker, as well as a waitress who is his true mate.

This is a wonderful story about community support and found-family. About leaving abusive relationships and saving others. One of the best "standard military-shifter" paranormal romances I've ever read because of the relationships.

OMG! “TECHNICAL THREAT” is the 4th amazing book in the fantastic ‘Westin Force’ series! ... Tons of action, different shifters, magic, & adventure and romance! ... With relatable characters, both new and some old friends, the slow burn chemistry between the H/h, Tarron & Susan and the always present witty dialogue has them practically jumping off the pages! ... Awesome descriptions with surprise twists & turns, that will keep readers glued to their seats and turning pages like crazy! :D ... I never write spoilers or recap blurbs, and even tho I always volunteer to read this author's books, it is without any outside influences, and these are my own feelings! I also buy her kindle books whenever I am able, so I can honestly recommend this to all adult 18+ fans of fiction & now I can't wait for more, but of course I will!

The story of Tarron and Susan is not one to miss! Julie does it again! I was excited to re-enter my favorite shifter universe and find the comfort of favorite characters along with the joy of getting to know new ones. We've heard about Nonna in Collision Course but she quickly became one of my favorite Weston Wolves and added so much to the story. Following along as we see Susan find sense of self worth and taking control of her life with the help of Tarron was wonderful. But this wouldn't be a Weston Force novel without the exciting twist and turns of being with Bravo as they continue their fight against Raglan. I will say, this one had my attention from the beginning and I binged it 24 hours! A great addition to Westin universe.

Susan and Tarron story was great because they didn't fight the mate bond. All of the other ones, they either fought it or didn't know what they wanted. I was so happy to finally have one where they just went full speed ahead. And Nonna was awesome, she had me cracking up with some of her comments. I couldn't believe the ending and I am hoping Silas gets his HEA. He has been so supported to his team that it crushed me to hear about his mate. I also love how their was a little more steam in this book!

Side note, it was great to see Zander and Shortstuff thick as thieves! I am so hoping they are mates!

Wow loved Tarron and Susan’s story, it was so sweet. Tarron is chasing a hacker trying to break into Westin Forces server, but nobody is as good as him, right? Susan just needs to find the information she needs to help locate her sister, what happens when the hacker is your true mate?
Loved this read, great story and plot, this read leads into Final Extraction which I’m excited to read. Loads of angst, lots of banter and some funny moments with Nonna. The ending although sweet did have an emotional sadness which I’m hoping changes in the next read. The love scenes are great, not crude just right for a shifter read. Overall a great read, highly recommend

In this fast-paced outing, team cyber-guru Caleb Tarron can’t believe someone actually breached his firewall and was in Westin’s computers. Circumventing Silas’ order, Tarron’s able to inveigle Nonna into accompanying him to track down and hamper the culprit.

Computer Hacker Susan Duncan’s determined her sister Sonnet is still alive after being captured four years ago by Raglan and she won’t stop looking. Certain she’s found a link between Raglan and Westin Force, Susan’s not quite sure if Westin is on the good or evil side of whatever is going on. But they won’t keep her sister.

Julie Trettel has really blown my mind with this book!

Tarron's book is by far my favorite book in the Westing Force series. It kept me on my toes the whole time and I was so sucked into their story that I barely put the book down.

I will not give away any spoilers because I like to read reviews sometimes before I read a book but I promise you will not be disappointed with this book! Julie is such a talented author and by far my favorite. This book will make you forget your responsibilities around the house with how easily it pulls you in.

ARC Review.

I’ve been waiting SO long for this book! Haha.

I’m so pleased with how Julie wrote this story - Tarron may or may not be my favourite on the Force. *dreamy sigh*

The story leads us to places unknown, with a beautiful surprise for Tarron. With Nonna tagging along, you know it’s going to be sassy!

Susan is treated awfully by her mother and has no idea why. The day she meets Tarron, the day both their lives change. For the better.

Julie has a great knack of drawing you in, making it hard to put the book down. I’m currently reading a BIG book at the moment and had to stop reading it to get my teeth into this one and I wasn’t disappointed in the least.

So many things that make you cry

I loved Tarron the most I think. He was always give shit to the other guys about their mates and always said he would never have one. Well the way found his true mate was awesome. And Susan was great. I did cry many times through out her story, but she was amazing. The way she finally stood up to her mother was the best and so much more. When the team went on the last mission I was on the edge of my seat! And I'm going to die waiting for Silas' story!!

Slight spoiler

I liked the story. This was the only one in the series I finished. I enjoyed it the most before they got back to the pack. My only confusion was why the guys didn't know his name was Caleb when that's all Nonna called him. They never should her calling him Tarron. They knew Nonna well so after three years they would have heard her call him Caleb. He also told her they did background checks on him and knew about his company before he joined them so them not knowing his name didn't seem feasible. I'm really interested in reading the last book.

Cinderella

XXX! Adult content, reader discretion advised. Tarron was set in his ways. He was happy with his job. The only complaint he had was Nona, his adoptive grandmother, setting him up on dates. Susan’s life was awful. She hated her day job and her mother was extremely abusive. The only thing she had going for her were her search for her missing sister and her cyber skills. If it weren’t for this skills the two would have never met. Susan hacked her way into Westin Force mainframe. That set Tarron on a hunt. Boy did he find his prey!

I loved that one!

It was unexpected but I cried so many tears of laughter in this book! Nona and a few of those situations were hilarious and I'm looking forward to seeing her again in later books!

The glimpse into Silas' book was heartwrenching! But such a teaser for great things to come. I simply love how great Julie is at tying her books together.

As for Tarron and Susan, they are quite the pair! Cute but sizzling and loving, strong but geeky and overall excellent! They are a great pair and I really loved their story!

I love Susan. She was a great sister and daughter even though she had never been treated well. She did so much and put up with so much for her family. I could not stop laughing at how she got Tarron and Archie all twisted up in the beginning! I absolutely loved Sage . This book had plenty of ups and downs in all the right places. Nonna was definitely a favorite!
Thank you for another good read Julie!

Excellent!

I was an ARC reader of Technical Threat last week.

Loved the characters. Development of the MCs was well done. Continuation and development of the Westin Force storyline via Tarron and Susan's tale was very engaging. As a standalone within WF, I loved it. As the preliminary for the next installment in the WF versus the Raglan's..... it's definitely awakened my curiosity. (And my impatience for the next book.)

Westin Force Assemble!

Tarren and Susan had a much different story than the others, in some places it seemed that their relationship was background noise to what really unfolded, maybe because their mating/bonding was so easy compared to the others in this world. So much drama with Susan's mother and family situation at the start and then Westin Force missions. It was an enjoyable read and I just love Nonna!!

Amazing Book!

Seeing Nonna and Tarron together is perfect. You can feel the love they have for each other. Nonna is hilarious and I love that she tries to set him up with every girl they come across. Susan is so strong pushing through life while trying to handle so much. I’m glad she ended up with a great mate who would help and support her. The little bits we got of Silas are heartbreaking and a perfect setup for the next book. Can’t wait.

She did it again!

I love Julie's books. I always say the last book read is my favorite, until I read her next book. Tarron and Susan's story was so beautiful. I'm glad Susan found a happy ending.

That Silas situation took the smile off my face. I was devastated for the rest of the book.. Seriously Julie, thank you for the sneak peak. I don't know how I would've made it until July waiting for his story.

Nonna is the best

Loved it. Like all of miss Trettel's books this one was another great read. I loved Tarron's personality and his interactions with Nonna . I really hope there's gonna be another spin off after this and we'll be seeing more of these characters westin pack and Westin force and silas's book won't be the last we see of them. I really enjoyed reading about this world of shifters and don't want it to finish.

Awesome

Awesome book and series (so far); I love the characters on the team...love their mates too! They all have such different personalities but go well together as a team and friends. Love each of the stories and can't wait for them to find all the bad guys ...they are awful. I cannot wait for the next book to be available...I feel so terrible for Silas and hope he ends up ok. Love all the shifter series by Trettel. I think her stories are well-written & interesting with great characters but they are also easy to read.

As always, Julie Trettle has me hooked. I couldn't put this book down and obsorbed it in one sitting. Julie brings the characters to life, with not just strong, leading men, but strong, leading females too! A fantastic stand alone, but a PHENOMENAL part of the universe. The story I've been waiting for (Nonna, I want to be you when I grow up!) Tarron and Susan were just what I needed.

Julie Trettel continues to amaze with each story she adds to the Westin Shifter world! Technical Threat has the characters you love and new characters you want to get to know. It has a fairytale feel to it that makes you cheer for the happily ever after!
You'll be laughing throughout the whole book and with tears in your eyes at certain parts. I'm excited for the next book to release!

Excellent new addition to the Westin Force series

Another great read in the Westin Force world. I loved Tarron's story and especially getting to meet his Nonna! Julie Trettel continues to breathe life into amazing stories and characters in a world I've come to love. Definitely worth the read and if you haven't read the rest of the series get to it! This is such a easy love story. There is no fighting the bond which I thoroughly enjoyed but at times she still questioned how much she knew him and whether it was worth it or not and I was also happy that they found her sister.
Nonna is by far one of my favorite characters that Julie has ever written!
Can I tell you I cannot wait for Silas‘s book!

Wow, Julie has written another great book. This story of Tarron and Susan really drew me in and it may be my new favorite book of Julie’s.
There were times of tears from laughing so hard and tears through some more emotional times in their new relationship.
Everybody should get a Nonna in their lives.
I’m counting down for Sila’s book now.
