Whether your taste is for snarky heroines, intense alphas, imposters, pretenders, wannabes or success stories you'll find something to like. The set up is ripe for romance--a Valentine's Day charity ball where wearing a mask is compulsory and the preferred attire is either pink (looking for love) or red (looking for sex). Not everyone in attendance was invited, not everyone there is a guest, and not everyone is clear about what they want--at least at first. Live vicariously as guests bid on luxury vacations, get swept way on private jets to exotic locations, and discover, explore, and rejoice in the connections they make. A most satisfying read!

Nicolette had gone to a charity masked ball looking for a date not love. River had the colors of love on but was there for more than that. As Nicolette and River started their fun and exciting evening, intriguing, interesting and intimate secrets and forays began to cause happenings to spiral the night out of control. Causing a possible hold on their HEA. Fun read

So far, I've only gotten a chance to read Danielle Keil's short story, The Phantom and the Cheeseburger, but I plan on going back and reading the rest of the stories later. Anyways, I know it's an odd title, but if you read the story, you'll figure why it is what it is, haha. I really enjoyed Kiera and Declan's story, and I would definitely recommend reading it, along with the rest of Danielle's books. :)

What a FANTASTIC short story! Kiara & Declan have an intense attraction and their chemistry sizzles, binding them to one another beautifully. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Do yourself a favor and grab this book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I loved this chance-meeting short story! Two well known young adults meet by chance at a masquerade party and the chemistry is instant! It was a fun, quick read that provided a nice break from the darker reads. Loved this story!

This is the 2nd book I've read written by H.M. Shander; she has done a great job at writing a good short story; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I read Unmasking River, by H.M. Shander. Nicolette and River meet at a masquerade ball for charity. He's wearing pink to symbolize his hope of finding true love - she's got red, looking for a night of passion. They make a connection, more than just lust. But she overhears his conversation, and realizes that she's been had. This is a fun story, short, sweet, and steamy. They really do make a cute couple. River has to figure out how to get back in Nicolette's good graces, though, and I really like the length he goes to. As someone who practically lives in my Chucks, I just love that she's wearing sneaks with her ballgown.

Received an ARC of H. M. Shander’s “Unmasking River”.

I love an angsty story and H. M. Shander really has the knack! I immediately could identify with Nicolette, a bit unsure of herself, trying to promote her career, and then dealing with a wrenching betrayal. River seems to be a great guy, not just a shallow facade, but then ... Still, what a great, romantic read. Just in time for Valentines Day! Loved it!

I read “Unmasking River” which I found quite enjoyable

This is a very entertaining little short story taking place at an exclusive masquerade party. Nicolette is a French actress in New York auditioning for the stage. While attending the party she meets a Hollywood actor that she has crushed on for years. But little does she know that she’s the subject of a bet between friends.

River and Nicolettes story was soo good. River and Nicolette have great chemistry. Also every girls dream to meet their teen celeb crush! It did get your emotions but in the end it all worked out. Very cute book!

This is what I wrote: Loved this short read! River and Nicolette were fun to read! This great insta-love story revolves around a masquerade charity event and the promise of love or a night of passion, as your choice may be. What happens when two strangers find an instant connection, but are not quite on the same page? What happens when that connection may not be what it appears to be? Genuine conversations, surrounded by sexy banter, and a passionate encounter...and maybe just the beginning of a longer story. You'll have to read to find out!

This was a fantastic anthology with something for every reader. One of my favorites was The Girl Behind the Mask by Sienna Grant. Phoebe and Quinn both attend the Masquerade ballot not looking for love. They become mesmerized by one another's eyes and they spend the ball dancing, drinking and becoming lost in the music and each other. These two are sinfully hot together, and their short story leaved me wanting to have more.
