Artemis O'Brien doesn't lead the most exciting life. She's professionally successful, but her social life is greatly lacking, and her love life is completely nonexistent. With her mid-thirties quickly approaching, she's starting to realize that if she doesn't make some changes soon, she is probably going to end up forever alone. It's not that she doesn't want to change, she just finds it difficult to do so due to all of her anxieties, and a total lack of self confidence.
Artemis hasn't had the best of luck in previous relationships, but all of that changes when she meets Jacob Morgan, and falls in love with him deeper than she ever realized was possible. Their relationship was seemingly perfect, until Jacob receives a message from someone in his past, a message containing six little words that have the ability to destroy everything they have built together. Through the seasons Artemis discovers great love, suffers terrible loss, and somehow still finds a way to sew all of her pieces back together when her entire world falls apart.
Turning Inside Out features a cast of memorable characters, and, true to life, has moments of laughter, love, pain, and all of the in-betweens.
*This book features mature language and some dark scenes. Reader discretion is advised.
There is nothing negative I can say about this book. It is as close to perfect as one can get.
It is extremely well written with characters who are realistic and engaging. The storyline flows amazingly well, with brilliant twists and turns here and there.
It takes a dark turn towards the end and, because you know the characters so well, you are feeling every emotion along with them. But it ends on an upbeat note.
I didn't want this book to end because it is such a page turner that I couldn't stop reading.
It is hard to believe that this is the author's first book and she should feel very proud of her accomplishment. I hope she continues to write and I look forward to reading her work in the future.
Wow.... She really took us to some dark places I wasn't expecting. I appreciated it bc it felt sincere and brave. Well written and engaging. I look forward to more books from this author
