She fell for him in Denver. But that’s only part of who he is.
Interior designer, Noel Livingston, continues her quest to expand her business relationship with business mogul, Nicholas St. Clair, a relationship that began in Denver, Colorado. When she travels to Las Vegas, Noel learns there is much more to Nicholas than meets the eye. His lifestyle is dangerous and risky and intriguing. He is a mafioso.
Accepting new things is hard for Noel. Accepting this part of who Nick is, is even harder. Yet, there’s a fiery spark between them, a passionate, sexual tension that neither can deny. His presence is compelling and unrelenting, and Noel finds it hard to resist the pull on her heart. Nicholas fights for what he believes in and fiercely protects the ones he loves. He has staked his claim on Noel and marked her as his own. Nicholas will not be denied.
This is a standalone that ends with a HEA. This is the continuation of Noel and Nicholas' story from St. Clair’s Silent Night.
This book was very enjoyable, I like the interaction between Noel & Nicholas. Noel reaction to what she found behind Nicola‘s back wasn’t unexpected, but she was totally surprised. I did not like the epilogue, because it gave me the impression that I was reading two different books at the end, I hope the author clears up the ending for me😕😳 otherwise I would’ve given this book or 5 ⭐️
I love Nicholas and Noel chemistry, I felt like their story was incomplete. The woman showing up I knew what that meant before reading the Epilogue. I hope in the other brothers books you will find out if Nick and Noel got they HEA. The story ended so abruptly so all I can do is wait for the next book.
The prequel was good...the first book was beyond excelle nt...it was sweet...it was kind..it was sooo gansta!!!!this family is all the way live...successful...bold and united...your last series was grand...but this exceeds that...exceptional read...cant wait for the next installment....
Nicholas and Noel had so much intensity and passion it jumped off the pages. This story is a beautiful continuation of their love story. It was also great to meet the rest of the family. I can't wait for the next story because that ending left me on the edge of my seat.
This book was unputdownable. I was already hooked with the novella and just had to know what Noel would do when she found out. Now, I have to know more...
3.5 stars. Noelle and Nick’s love story continues in this book, as she joins him in Vegas to further her career and see if there is more than just a fling between them.
All the characters were likable and made the story for me. I especially loved that hue characters acted and sounded like adults.
What didn’t really work for me was the overall story. While a cute look into their romance, nothing else really happened. This could be my own expectations but I just thought there would be more action or suspense given the “mafia” element and there really wasn’t much. Also I wasn’t really feeling the Kirsten character and the insinuations dropped in the epilogue. I would rather have seem more of the dicarlos then add in a possible jealous woman situation.
Overall a decent read with some grammar issues. If you want the cute romance of two likable characters then definitely give this a chance. While I need the mafia stuff was light nonexistent it is still a decent read, give it a try you may think different!
This was my first read by this author, and I have to say that I enjoyed reading this book. However, I haven’t read St. Clair Silent Night, but I will. I love a good Mafia book and I was not disappointed in the story. I love the chemistry between Nicholas & Noel, although I felt that they were both unsure where they wanted this relationship to go. It took them a long time to me for them to realize that they loved each other, especially since they had already met and knew each other. I love the Mafia/Don side of Nicholas and look forward to seeing more from him and his brothers. I also glad that once Nicholas finally told Noel who and what he was beside the businessman, and she decided to stick with him.
I was disappointed with the ending because the ending wasn’t complete, it just ended with Nick being thrown in the car, and what is up with Kristian (who went to school with him), she was unsure if she wanted to confront him and seem upset that he acted as if he didn’t see or knew who she was, and to be honest he didn’t until she just stood in front of him and then he remember that went to school together. For her to just show up out of the blue you know she is going to cause trouble for them, and the epilogue I thought it would kind of give us that HEA with NicK and Noel. I also want more of Noel and her family. When will Nick meet his parents and sibling? This was a cliffhanger and I am hoping the rest of her books with brothers doesn’t end in cliffhanger. I love with a book ends in HEA. I am looking forward to Gideon book as well as the other brothers’ stories. Those are some FINE ST CLAIR MEN.
Title: Respect Author: Celeste Granger Publisher: C.G. Series: The Men of Mafia St. Clair Book 1 Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Five Review: "Respect" by Celeste Granger
My Opinion:
I will say that this author keeps on giving us good reads because 'Respect' was one of those that dealt so well with 'The Men of Mafia St. Clair' while featuring Noel and Nicholas. This love story had a little bit of it all from love, sex, mystery, some gangster elements, family, honesty, and leaving us wondering what's coming next before and after that 'epilogue.' It will be engaging in knowing if Nick and Noel will get there HEA? Who was this strange woman that showed up, and who was the baby? I guess we will get answers to these and more from reading the next series. It looks like Gideon's story is coming up next in Righteous: The Men of Mafia St. Clair Book 2.
Overall this book was good. I liked the chemistry between Noel and Nicholas. There wasn’t a bunch of drama (yet) which was good to see since their relationship is just starting. I also appreciate how Celeste wrote the love scenes and didn’t hit us with the proverbial “I’m clean. I’ve been tested and I trust you” like some other books I’ve read. Celeste just naturally let’s it flow without that awkward exchange.
I must admit that the introduction of Kirsten threw me for a loop. It’s so late in the book but it’s obvious that she is there to entice us to try to read on and figure out her relationship with Nicolas, but you won’t get that from this book. I also wish I didn’t read the epilogue. It added no value to the book. It didn’t seem to fit at all! I believe it’s intended to be a “cliff hanger” but it just left me confused and annoyed. Because of that I rated the book 4 instead of 5 stars.
I'm liking the start of this series ma'am! Glad to know that Noel and Nick's chemistry was not just a fling, and is the real deal. I just wonder if Noel is setup to deal with all that comes with Nick. She seems okay now, but I have a feeling that some ish is about to go down, and how will she handle herself? I loved the introduction of the other St. Clair brothers, as well as Nikki. We are in for a ride! However, I am filled with questions! Christian seems like she is trying to tell Noel something about their family, without coming out and saying it. Whatsup with that? Who is Kirsten? She is trouble! That ending tho! Head spinning and am totally confused! Bring on the next book quickly please! Good read! 👍👍👍
Wait...what? I was excited to reading the rest of Noel and Nick's story after the introduction, however now I think that I have to read about their story even more. There really wasn't a HEA for them and I think we all wanted that. The last chapter of the book left me on a cliff-hanger and I'm really not use to that with Ms. Granger's books. Then the Epilogue was a new book and family altogether. I still rated this book very highly because it accomplished what it is supposed to accomplish...leaving you wanting for more. My mind is reeling with ideas of how the Epilogue will tie into the story and I cannot wait for the next one. BTW, I'm excited that there are so many new characters to write about in this family. Ms. Granger keep writing - your fans are waiting.
Nooo… This book had so much potential. I really wanted to like this book but it didn’t do anything for me. The beginning of Noel and Nicholas’ story had so much potential. I love their chemistry and they were very compatible characters. However, the story lacked any real drama and development. It felt rushed and the ending? Hell no, a random couple of pages about a nameless character. It would have made more sense to write an actual epilogue about the characters the book is about. What happened after the fashion show? Did Noel move to Las Vegas to live with Nicholas? Too many unanswered questions and a proper ending. It felt like the story was abandoned and lacked any real and concrete mafia drama and edge.
Ok so where do I begin, well let me first say I was sad when the Ali men series came to and end but BAABBBBYYYY, Celeste Granger has outdone herself with the beginning of The Men of Mafia St. Claire's series. It is a sweet Gangsta Love Story and I am here for allllllll of IT. All I could do was laugh at the ending to keep from being mad, Celeste you really didn't have to do us like that. March is too far away, I need something to scratch that itch until Gideon!! This is nothing like The Moore Sisters or Ali Men but ohhhhh so GOOD!! You will not be disappointed!!
I have waited since December to read this book. Needless to say I was really excited when I discovered it had been released. It was wonderful to see how Nicole and Nicholas ‘s love story was unfolding My great disappointment was the book ended with to many unanswered questions and an epilogue that just added more disappointment. Don’t get me wrong... I’m not trying to spoil anything for future readers however, that info in the epilogue should have been introduced before the mysterious woman ( the old high school class mate) at the fashion show showed up. I had hopped The epilogue would have dealt more directly with the two main characters If the second book is going to end like this.. I’m not sure I want to invest in it 😔
After admitting they missed each other Nicholas invites Noel to Vegas. As they continue getting to know one another up close and personal, Noel begins to notice that Nicholas is not your average real estate business mogul. Nick and Noel, are in love and in business together. Will Noel be able to respect Nick the Mafia Don? Can she accept his life style?
I love Nick and Noel! And I am here for their journey to forever.
Nicholas not only gives respect, he receives it in multitudes!! But not only Nick, all of the St. Clair Men!! Then you have Noel, whom he met in Denver and , whew...here they are in Vegas and in love!! I absolutely loved this book and, yes, it ends in a cliffhanger, but it just makes you excited to read Book 2 for the continuation!! I can’t wait to get started reading it! This is a must-read! You won’t be disappointed!! Kudos, Celeste!! 💜
I'm not sure about this series now. The story could have been really good if it was focused on Noel & Nicholas, but this author added some things that just was out of sync. Who is Kirsten Weathers and where did she come from? Since I am just starting this new series I am going to take a wild guess and say that Nick & Nicki are father and daughter. The way this author seem to have place Kirsten into this book the way she did has to be Nicki's mom. As I mentioned it was a bad way to through the character into the story and then place the backstory in the epilogue the way she did. I've already somehow figured this story out.
I love this storyline so much, it’s a different feel of writing but I really enjoyed it — Spoiler Alert... it’s a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the second part. The St. Clair men have it going on, and I’m hoping to read about the other brothers as well. The emotional connection and chemistry is so heartfelt, sexy, entertaining a definite page turner ....Great Series so far.
Well readers get ready for this ride! The St.Clair men have made an appearance and are definite book baes that are swoon worthy. I was intrigued and fascinated with the life this family lives and the future women and sole man will find themselves in this story will become any readers obsession 🥰. Well Nick about to bring the fire and his brothers and the lone sis about to take readers on a great ride!
I like this author I've enjoyed all her books so yeah loving this book. There's a lot more to the St. Clair men than what you see. This story held my attention from the beginning to the end. Nicholas is the boss, Noel is the designer. I was so tickled by the way these two met. This is their story and I'm riding with this series until the end. I would highly recommend this book hell the series. Hell Celeste Granger get to reading this author 🥰.
I would have given "Respect" four stars if the ending had made any sense at all. Obviously, the story ended in a cliff hanger, but who's cliff was it? Also, near the end of the story, a budding romance was tentatively introduced (Nicki and Chaucy), Kirsten Weathers pops up at the fashion show (behaving stalkerishly, I might add), and Nicholas is almost run down! The End.
Well Nichols and noel storie is just being. Will noel be his ride or died woman or will she leave him or wii the woman Kristina be some from his past that will destroy what he has built with her and baby will this be. I can't wait. Great book and great reading for the weekend.
Noel and Nicholas finally reuniting was so touching! They have found a love so strong. Only time will tell what's next but I truly am enjoying the storyline. The St. Clair family is one not to be messed with. The ending of this one has left some questions that I hope are cleared up in the next installment! Great start to this series!
This was like a part two to Nick and Noel's story. It started out a little shakey but the love they feel for each other can't be denied . I enjoyed meeting each ofthe brothers. They are a strong family unit and we can't leave out Ms. Nicki. It will be good to see what Nick bhas instore for Chauncey.
I enjoyed the story until the very unusual ending. Was that supposed to be in another story? Anyway, Nicholas and Noel's story was nice. He was the Don and held his position well. Noel, a few times, showed a lot of reticence, and other times she behaved like a boss b. Her character was okay.
You left me craving more. Nick and Noel I’ve loved them from the beginning and to see their relationship grow is amazing. The St.Clairs truly are not a family to mess with and knowing it started with a black female Boss; love it! Also interested in seeing if and how things develop for Nicki too... headed to Book 2 Righteous.
Great read Love the men of St. Clair Keep such intriguing stories of family devotion and connection coming Can't wait to read more about this family and them finding love I also appreciate the small interjection of American history of the struggle and perseverance of black people in the story
