Who ever said that love and power couldn’t go hand in hand? Quran Booker has dreamed of running Mutual Tech Corporations since he was five years old. All he ever wanted to do was be a part of the company his grandfather built from the ground up. At the age of thirty-five, he has been on his way to the top. With his grandfather stepping down, Quran, along with his cousin, are in line to carry the family name and business. But things take a drastic hit when Quran learns the requirements for him to remain as the company’s CEO. Tyme Maddox is just a woman trying to find her way back to herself. Her past has made her come to terms that loving herself is worth so much more than anticipating it from a man. In this point in her life, the only men that deserve her love unconditionally are her father and her baby boy, Logan. But her relationship with Logan’s father looks as if it’s a chapter she lived in her own childhood. With a meddling mother and an ex who doesn’t quite understand the word “done,” can Tyme find her peace and be one with life as she knows it, or will she travel down a road she’s taken time and time again? These two embark on a journey where time is nothing but numbers and with this game called love, slow and steady always wins the race. Connections are made, and some ties can’t be broken. Can these two strangers make good on a commitment neither of them saw coming or will they let quick fixes determine their fate?
Born and raised in Syracuse, New York, Malay Reneé found her love for writing while in the 7th grade, through her love for theater. Being in love with plays encouraged her to start writing out her own ideas and turning them into her own world of scripts. As she got older she wanted to tell more stories, more in-depth. She loved using her imagination to come up with short stories about her perception and ideas of love and her spin on real life drama.
In 2017, she proudly finished her first full length novel. Once it was finished she had no intentions on pursuing a career in writing because of so many doubts and fears. In 2018, she took a leap of faith and looked into making her childhood dream a reality. As of now she has penned and published 13 books and plans to expand her writing career as time goes on. With this new journey in writing she plans on getting back to the original root of her writing, which is love.

This book so good and held my attention from the very first page. I though the story line was everything and I love the relationship between Tyme and Quran it was like they was made for each other. I definitely recommend this book.
I loved the progression of the relationship between Tyme and Quran. Everything happened organically and they took the time to really get to know each other. The way Quran took to Logan like he was his own was swoon worthy. I do feel like Iris should have got punched in the face. I did not like her or Hakeem, like at all.
I loved it and the play on the title. I never would have imagined what Tyme escaped. As Q was going forward with his dumb idea and feeling Tyme out, I anxiously awaited the fall out. It happened in such an unpredictable way! Great read!
This was a really good story. I loved how the author built up a friendship between Tyme and Quran. Quran was irritating me with the whole Iris situation. I’m glad he redeemed himself.
Caught and held my attention from the beginning to the end. The pages kept turning cause I didn't want to put it down. Just one more chapter.. turned into.. okay after the next chapter I'm gonna put it down, next thing I know, I'm at the end...
Officially in my feelings. Quran and Tyme had something that I'm sure only comes around once for each of us. The plot was well-balanced, causing my emotions to reach their highest peak before dipping below their lowest valley. Malay Renee crafted a beautiful portrait of what love can be when we get out of loves way. Time is relevant and Quran and Tyme were the perfect portrayal of staying in their moment, rooted in their now and secure in each other no matter how much others wanted to speed up... or slow down their thing. In a world of love at first sight and tumultuous romance, this was a refreshing account of letting love love on you without all the pressure of titles and expectations.
This story was definitely better with Tyme. I loved 💘💘both characters although Quran got on my nerves with the farce. He did everything else so well that he is definitely bae 😘. I loved the way he really courted Tyme and inserted himself into her life. Tyme proved to be a strong black mother who deserved all that Good love Quran had to give.💗💗💗Good job📝👌👏👏👏 Ms. Renee. I look forward to the next one.
Quran is my new bae because not too many men would do as he did
I loved the natural progression of Tyme and Quran's relationship. I was happy that she didn't rush anything with him considering what she went through with Logan's dad. I wish Quran wouldn't have waited so long to end that everything with Iris though. I was iffy on his cousin at first but I guess he needed to see someone close to him experience love to change his attitude towards it.
You never know what someone else is going through, and the challenges that they've overcome to get where they are. I was disappointed in Quran, in even considering that dumb idea. He had to know that his grandfather must have thought he was capable, otherwise he would not have asked him to do it. Tyme, was a good woman, who gave her love to the wrong man. Meeting Quran was different, and made her feel a way, that was somewhat confusing to her. Is he really as nice as he seems? Do I put myself out there again? Quran's interest was peaked, as soon as he laid eyes on Tyme. The way that he nourished their friendship, and made time for her and embraced Logan was beautiful. He began to understand what his grandfather was getting at. But, why didn't you call off the sham then? Ughhh……… I wanted to fight him! The love they shared was strong enough to endure this obstacle, and I believe any others put in their way. Great read! 👍👍👍
Tyme was a single mother just trying to raise her son. Quran only wanted to become the CEO of his family company. When his grandfather made a stipulation to get the job, Quran set out to make it happen. After running into Tyme in the store, all he could think about was her., but she wasn't feeling him. After seeing each other again, Quran made a play, but Tyme still was not ready. Finally giving in and calling him, this started a beautiful friendship between Tyme and Quran, they grew into more. When Quran's little secret was revealed to Tyme, she was devastated and left. This story had so many layers to unpack and I was here for them all. Tyme was one strong women for everything she went through in life and she didn't want to be used or walked on every again. Quran stepped up in the right time for Tyme and was a blessing to her and her son. I loved their story and how they were friends before lovers and than more. Malay is creeping in my heart with these books she writing and im here for them all!!!
I read the "Last Christmas: My Gift to You" and was thinking I like her writing, its just something about it. I wanted to read another book by Ms. Renee and I read this one. This book was just as good as that one. The drama and the foolery that Quran and Tyme endured was over the top. The way their relationship was built was exemplary they really did established the best friend perspective, so they can say, "they married their best friend." You can tell a lot about a person and their intentions through kids and Logan clinged to Quran the very first time they met. The way Logan latched on to Quran you knew he was a good man with a great spirit. I do not want to give away too much of the book but just know its an awesome read. If you are looking for a great read this is it. You will not be disappointed and highly entertained.
I am hoping that Kane is 'talking' and in the works for a novel. It would be fantastic to read about him settling down. Kane and Quran both can give 'granny' some grandbabies.
I loved loved loved this short read!!! I’m so glad Quran came to his right mind and got rid of Iris. She really tried it at the end, acting like she was so in love or something. I was ready for Tyme to put her hands on Iris at the hospital, all that hot stuff she was talking. Quran was book bae for sure, the way he came in and started loving Tyme and her son from the beginning. I’m glad they got their happy ending. Loved it!!!
This is the first book I read from this author and let me tell you that I loved it! Such a good book with great characters that keeps you obsessed with every page since the first one. The ending of this book.. come on! I just didn´t expect it! Can´t wait to read other books from this great writer! Amazing job! a must-read!. A fantastic book that has it all! I happily endorse this story to any and all who are looking for an enjoyable read and a completely different experience than anyone could imagine on their own. Great book!
This was a good read and I’m soo happy Tyme overcame so much to get to that point in her life! Hakeem is a deadbeat person all the way around and Quran was like a knight in shining armor and I love how he took his time with her and I’m happy he didn’t make that mistake he could if lost a good thing
First book by this author and she knocked it out the park. Quran is my new book boyfriend, I loved the way he stepped to Hassan. I wished he had kicked his behind, after what he put Tyme through. This story had so many layers, Tyme and her mother's relationship, Kane and Quran, Quran's relationship with his grandparents, and let's not forget Iris. I wanted Tyme to slap the taste out of her mouth.😬😬😬😬. The character development was awesome, Kudos to the author👏👏👏. I have already purchased another one of her books.
Wow, this was beautiful! I'm in love with both Q and Ty beginning and ending. Such a lovely story. First time reading this author and you did your thing. I want me a Quran. I'm a sucker for romance like this storyline and loved it!
I've read other books by this author that didn't quite feel as confusing as this one. A few times, I had to read twice for clarity. The story was good, but a good edit was needed to clean up some of the errors. Overall, the story was good.
This was a very cute storyline and I loved how things blossomed between Tyme and Quran. I loved the chemistry of the relationships of characters and how they reacted with each other. Malay didn't disappoint me at all.
This book was good from start to finish . Such a good love story . You could feel the chemistry through the pages . I will be going through to read the other books in her catalog
I am a forever fan .. I've been binge reading all of your book they keep my totally engaged the entire time .. I'm so glad Ty and her mom talked out their differences
This was such a wonderfully well crafted story with strong characters. Thyme and Quran were the best main characters and were so sweet even though Quran almost lost it all for being dumb but it still worked out for the best. First time reading this author and I will for sure be checking out more of her work...
Really good! Another new to me author and this book will not be my last. This was a great story of how you can never outsmart the plans God and fate has in store which was exactly what Quran tried to do. I loved her writing and how the story flowed. Great read.
Awww that’s so sweet! Quran completely melted my heart. My favorite part was the way that he loved Logan and wanted to see him happy. His life was definitely better with Tyme
I loved everything about this story my heart went out to Q when his grandfather gave him the Ultimatum that could cause him to loose his dream with only 4 months to fulfill his agreement with his grandfather.. He soon found out that not following his first mind and listening to his cousin could very well cause him to lose something dearer to him then Being the CEO of the family business. This is a sweet unexpected love story that has its’ fare share of twists and turns and an ending that had me clapping my hands and smiling
