He was the most powerful and feared being in the known universe. Enemies quaked in his presence, and there was nothing short of the great Creator and his pantheon that could stop him from destroying everything. He was power incarnate. The likes of which beings have fought over for hundreds of millennia, and he hated every moment of his existence.
From the moment the nanites flooded his system and changed his brain and body, Cindrac desperately searched for a way to reverse what was done to him. He wanted to regain his humanity and soul from the abyss of technology gone wild within him.
Cindrac had given up on ever feeling human again until fate dropped a miracle on his doorstep. What should have been an easy battle to save the one person he could ever love, turned into a disaster that even Cin didn’t have the power to fix alone. Determined to battle the entire universe if he has to, Cin calls in every favor ever owed to him to rescue the one woman who could heal his soul and return his humanity.
As a universal battle, to save one woman unfolds, Cindrac knows that if he fails, nothing will stop him from unleashing his power to destroy everything in his path. It wasn’t just a fight for his soul any longer; it would ultimately determine the fate of the universe.
This series suddenly stopped being science fiction and became some weird, violent, metaphysical religious fantasy filled with conspiracy theories and prpaganda. I'm very disappointed.
I know its science fiction but now using a real disease and making people to be afraid of vaccination and saying its no worse than the comon cold. Not cool Their are lots of people who have taken the vaccine with no side effects but its also not right for the disrepect to all who have lost loved ones. I really liked your books in the past but not this.
I love all your books and I mean alll of them, but I feel you made a mistake in this one. Almost midway through you mentioned not wearing masks and closing business. During a pandemic I think that's dangerous. I hate wearing a mask and my heart bleeds for the people who lost their businesses, but dead people can't shop. If we had done right in the first place it may not have been this bad. And apart of me feels that this world doesn't deserve the kindness God gives us because we're go stupid.
Not really or actually at all what I expected. Cin is a super being but it is almost as if he feels no hardship or struggle. It all goes pretty smoothly for him after being injected with the nannites. Then we read about an AI but apart from the very being, I never felt like there was an AI present within his mind... Then regarding the story, we go from action to a lotttt of talk about conspiracies. They are kind of meshed together and pulled in one big chunk then back to action with a few characters I have never heard of... I know I haven't read all of the author's book but I did the ones in this serie and I was left confused. Last but not least, Lanie. She feels a bit like a useless addition I am sorry to say. She doesn't bring much to the table. But then out of the blue she becomes a super warrior... I am sad I wasn't convinced by this story that promised to be so great :(
I have been a fan for years! Due to unfortunate circumstances, I have done very little reading since Dec. 24, 2020. Things finally changed and have been catching up on all the books that I have missed.
This is one that I was looking for and was finally able to read.
I must say that you always address topics that some might take exception to, but you handle them tastefully without taking sides. You always weave an imaginative tale that keeps everyone thinking about what's next.
Thank you for this I was wondering about Cindrac's story for some time and this was eye opening!
Please, please continue to write and share your tales with us!
It's been a great series so far; this book started with promise. Then it took a nose-dive into QAnon idiocy, anti-vaxxer quackery, Bilderburger Group cabal... even intelligent design BS. The only thing it doesn't mention is Zionism, Council on Foreign Relations, Flat Earth, and the Trilateral Commission. Whew! Either the author is tone deaf or a sociopath. It's much too soon to be using Covid-19 as a conspiracy plot device, encourage anti-vaxxing, going maskless, and attending crowded parties! SHAME!
Mikayla Lane is mind bogglingly good at crafting a tale that leaves you wide eyes and a bit shaken by the end. This is no exception. Read the series. Read everything she has written. Lane's books are a rare thing in this world. Carefully crafted. Believable. Engrossing. They capture the reader so completely that you happily reach for the next and the next. And when they run out, you have to stop and rest. Readjust to the world around you.
Ummmm .... what rabbit hole do you want me to fall down?
I generally enjoy this author. I am not sure what happened here except maybe paranoia. The vaccine links at the back and anti-Vaxer B.S. at the end. In this climate people don’t need anything extra to spook them. It could have been a good story and seemed to be going somewhere, then seemed to veer off onto this authors personal message on vaccines. Totally lost it at the end. Ruined the book. Bummer
i do not like to be preached to. I read a book for fun and enjoyment. I want the story to take me away from everyday events so I can relax and recharge. I want to care about the characters and get involved in their lives. This book fails to do that in so many ways! After reading the other books in this series, I was really looking forward to Cindrac's story. Extremely disappointed in Ms. Lane!
This book will be best for those who think a man in a gold elevator is fighting elites, rather than simply a member of an elite himself. I have quite enjoyed others in this series but could not finish this one. It lacks the escapism of previous books and the political points are hammered home with similar sublety to Atlas Shrugged. However, if that is something you might like, give it a go.
Took a weird twist and went anti-Semitic crazy train.
Blamed a cabal made up of descendants of the people who killed God’s representative on earth, of turning human beings into slaves. Using forced vaccination eventually leading to kill switches. Took a good storyline and went on a pontifical rant against the FBI, government, masks and vaccine. I never saw this Crazy train coming.
Okay so I loved the entire series. But the reason I commented on in this one is because the story that you told about the world was incredibly brave. Hugs!!!! Really, the story lines in each book are awesome. Not everyone has the talent to write from a male pov when they're female and vice versa so I was really impressed. You're amazing writer
I have got to honestly say this is one of the best books I've ever read, even though parts scared me(the truth is always a little scarey don't ya think?). Please don't stop now, I love how you explain the things going on. I very much appreciated the story and the correlation to our time now. I really wish we had a couple of heroes to help save our ass
I love Maykala's "fiction?" stories, but this last one puts everything that is happening lately in a new realistic perspective. I have been aware of the strange patterns suddenly occurring in the world and knew in my heart something sinister was occuring . I hope this is more fiction but fear it is not.
I was very disappointed with the paranoia of this book. It feeds into the worst instincts of people surrounding a pandemic that has killed millions. Suggesting that it is no more deadly than a minor virus, painting vaccines as an attempt to control the population. This book fulfills everything every crazy conspirist ever said and gives it validity. Nauseating.
Thank you for truly opening my eyes and validating everything I am seeing.. I love your books and love this last one even more!!!! Keep the truth coming!!!!!
This book was utterly captivating, intellectually stimulating, and imaginative. I was quite sad when it ended but I feel encouraged to investigate further. I feel as though I have been on a journey that has changed my perspective forever.
I have to be honest - I have read EVERY SINGLE BOOK Mikayla has published as far. I loved her work and how she seamlessly puts real-world issues like the Paris club bombings or folklore into her books and spins the reasons behind the real-world problems to fit her unique story.
I loved Cindrac and was not disappointed when it was released. I bought - read and finished it all in the same day and have re-read this book and all the others countless times. I love these books so much I buy hard copies as gifts for friends and families birthdays and Christmas =)
Read this - You won't be disappointed - I promise.
