This was a fun book. To give you an idea, it's 200ish pages and 64 chapters and each of those chapters is a story, so they are each only a few pages long. This made it ideal for me to read when I only had a bit of time or wasn't sure what (fictional) book I wanted to start next as I could get a few stories read without having to stop in the middle.

I especially liked the ones that were word/phrase based or history based, but that's just because of my interests. There was a wide enough variety that I'm sure most people would find something they found particularly interesting. The quality of the writing was good and the stories overall had almost a chatty tone to them, which made it easy to read and not a dry retelling of facts.

O'Neill's books are available on Kindle Unlimited and are all fact/trivia based. Some of them are too niche for me, but I would read another book by him since I enjoyed this one.

Another Crazy Fun Book by Author

I love the trivia and other quick-read non-fiction put out by this author. He has focused on several subjects, like crazy things dictators do or American heroes and heroines. This book is a collection of what amounts to a brief article of what the author calls crazy stories, from topics ranging from the White House to Hollywood to science… and beyond. These can be historical or relatively contemporary. He even makes the math story interesting! Every now and then, he includes a chapter of random trivia as well. I found this a deliciously fun read. If you like relatively random but interesting stories and facts, you may likely enjoy this book as much as I did.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

I don't do book reviews.....

I don't do book reviews like you keep seeing, as I find that some give too much of the plot away and I personally hate that, as it makes the book not worth reading. I much prefer to take the authors back cover write up as a review as it can either intrigue you enough to read the book of provide you enough information to make you decide that the book is not for you.
My review rules are: The more stars, the more I liked it.
If there are too many typos or errors the less stars I give
If the storyline or plot is poor or contains too many errors, the characters are too weak, the ending lacking something, then the less stars I give.
Simple, uncomplicated and to the point without giving anything away.
Some of the books I read have been given to me by the author as a pre-release copy and this does not bias my reviews in any way

This is a intersting and entertaining book in a variety of ways. It starts out with a story about a mummy that needed a passport. Then there's the Prayer book rebellion, the smoot and a section on the different kinds of numbers.

The longest Oscar speech ever given is covered along with the Beatles maybe doing The Lord of the Rings (back when they were all still alive.) George Harrison as Gandalf I could believe.

The scapegoat concept is explained to be followed by the Great Fire of London, the silent MGM lion and a really amazing story about a 50,000 word novel with any Es.

The very first known workers strike is way older than you would think. There's even more in this quite amazing book.

Good book

It was good but some of the facts were wrong. Like saying Queen Elizabeth II reaching her 60th year reigning was record breaking. It in wasn’t, because George III reigned for 60 years and his granddaughter(and Elizabeth II’s great great grandmother) Queen Victoria reigned for 64 years. The current length of her reign, which will be 69 years in June, is however record breaking but 2 other monarchs have indeed reigned for 60 years.

Quite interesting. It held my interest more so than the history they teach in school. And also if they showed more films like Troy ( Brad Pitt) in school, I would have obviously paid more attention!! lol
Speaking of Brad Pitt...Did you know Brad Pitt and Barak Obama are 9th cousins?? True. I read it in this book!

Crazy Stories Indeed

I enjoyed this book, and learned a few things. I liked the "fun facts" between some of the stories. I found some of the stories quite interesting.
