Tempest is book two in The Chronicles of Winterset, a steamy paranormal fae romance. Due to some dark content, reader discretion is advised.

I enjoyed this, but I got quite annoyed over various aspects as the story progressed. I was hoping to see Ana develop further than how she was in Oracle, and in a way, she definitely did strengthen as far as her abilities and learning to fight. However, in other aspects, it just seemed like she was bulldozed over by those around her and couldn't speak up and be decisive about things. It's understandable, but it became grating at the repetitiveness of her and Kellin's relationship, the pushiness of brother and what she "should" do.
Things also seemed a bit rushed near the end and although Tarek is an interesting character, it was a bit too easy with him having so much insight/info to just share with Ana. On top of her vision essentially working out exactly as how she saw it, it was a bit annoying that it was constantly that way, and no effort was made to try and even change major events.
I'm still interested to see how things will work out, and perhaps by the end, Ana will really evolve into a character one can envision as a queen.
MOTHER CHUCKER!!! I definitely wasn’t ready for this book! Especially considering how Oracle ended.
Analia ‘Ana’ Winters is officially back home in Winterset and reunited with her family. But all is far from simple and easy. Her heart is still broken over Calix and yet she is already being set to be betrothed to another to help bring her people together. And on top of that all she is now the Oracle, which means she is even more dangerous to not only herself but others. Especially if Zaros and his people get ahold of her.
We are introduced to new characters Ana’s parents, Tarek, Brena, Rowan & Mabel. Alongside the old, like Kellin and her brother Soren. Besides being cocky and arrogant, there was something about Tarek that didn’t sit with me. Almost as if he was hiding something, which definitely had me suspicious. However, he did have his moments that I couldn’t help but have a soft spot for him too. As for Kellin, I still wasn’t a big fan of him. There was something even more about him that didn’t stick well with me. And by the end I was definitely right in that aspect, though I did feel a little bit bad for him.
HOLY HELL this book had a lot going on and a lot to take in. I don’t think I have concentrated so much when reading a story like I did with Tempest. And I loved it for that, if that makes any sense. K.G reels you in with not just Ana’s story, but the knowledge needed to understand the worlds/realms within Winterset and around. Sure, it was a lot of information to take in. But I loved how detailed and thorough she was about it. It made it so easy to picture everything come to life in my head with all the intricate details she described.
Once again, this story had me asking questions from the get go and thankfully they were answered throughout. I felt so much for Ana and what she was going through. The way she handled it, considering she had been thrown into it all without much of a warning. I had to give her her props for doing her best and going along with everything she could to the best of her abilities. Considering not only was she new to fairly most of it, but she was still nursing a broken heart too. I felt so bad for her throughout, she is constantly being pulled in many different directions by everyone and no one really seemed to truly care for how she felt, or what she wanted. As if their demands being fulfilled are more important than her thoughts and feelings, and herself as a person.
On top of that the surprise twists that Queen K.G. threw in definitely threw me for a loop. Though there was one that I did kind of guess. But other than that she definitely still got me with this book overall! This book had so much going on it was driving me crazy, but in a good way, that I didn’t want to stop. It made me love it even that much more! SO many emotions and feelings on this rollercoaster of a book! All I can say is… ALL HAIL THE QUEEN of CLIFFY, SUSPENSE, HEARTBREAK and TORTURE! You have done it yet again with Tempest and that cliffy! I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT until FRACTURE to see what will happen next!

📖 My Thoughts
Much like the first one, this book felt as though it was missing some sort of depth to it. There was a great deal of world building that happens during this sequel novel. When it came to the plot. I thought I knew where it was going yet here I am…loud an wrong.
Tarek was my favourite. He gives off mysterious daddy vibes. And I always gravitate towards the tall, dark, and handsome.
I am still looking forward to the last in the book because I know it’s going be really good because this authors writing is much different now compared to this story from her early days.

📝 Special Notes
If I had to rank the paranormal series by kg, so far is read this one first and savour the last two. This one borderline YA so it’s a good starter series for her pnr book
What a rollercoaster of a story and emotions. I felt so sorry for Ana. Thrown into the Earth Realm when she was a baby. Never knowing who she really was. Fae men watching her in the Earth Realm loving her and wanting her. But everyone has been lying to her and when she is forced back into the Fae Realm she is pushed and pulled in many directions. But everyone’s fear is for Zaros who wants to take down and control all the realms. He is evil and will sacrifice everyone, even his family. So who does Ana believe? She‘s the Oracle and the supposed savior of their world but only with her true love by her side. But who is her love? She loves three men. One dead and risen from the dead, one betrothed and loving another, and one who has secrets. The one person she thinks hates her might actually be the only one to love and save not only her but everyone. With her help. Ana is now back in the Seelie world and things are not going the way that she hoped. She is still grieving for her lost love, being forced to marry another who is with holding secrets and now she is being pulled in by the captain of the guard. Just when she thinks her life will finally make sense, fate throws another twist in to it. I could not put this book down!!!

This is the second book in the Chronicles of Winterset series and it picks up where the first book left off. We watch as Ana is now back in the Seelie world, grieving for her lost love, and things are not going the way that she hoped. She is being pulled in by the captain of the guard and being forced to marry another who is holding secrets. So many twist and turns I can not wait to read the next book.
Ana is back and going through a lot in book two of The Chronicles of Winterset. This book picks up where book one left off with Ana back in the Seelie world grieving and just when I think things are going to take a turn for the better plot twist. The characters are interesting, the storyline is intriguing with unexpected twists that make this a page turning read. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This entire series is crazy. Tempest dives more into the fantasy part of the story and Ana is in Winterset. There is so much that happens in this. I still love Calix but now I also love Tarek 🥺. I have no idea how this is going to end but I really hope there will be a third book. This is easily one of my favorite fantasy series. Oh and be prepared to cry when reading this.
Tempest by K.G. Reuss is an awesome story to read. This is book number two in this awesome series that I have been so hooked on and can not wait to see what this author will write next. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy and paranormal romance.
