She's a Marine. He's a billionaire. Their paths cross in Okinawa, Japan, where she's stationed and he's developing a new hotel. Their worlds are so different, yet the attraction is strong. Can these two opposites handle a fling while living on this island? Or will their differences drive them apart?
USA Today bestselling author Lisa Carlisle loves stories with dark, brooding heroes or quirky outcasts. Her romances have been named Top Picks at Night Owl Reviews and The Romance Reviews.
When she was younger, she worked in a variety of jobs, moving to various countries. She was stationed in Okinawa while in the Marines, backpacked alone through Europe, and worked in Paris before returning to the U.S. She owned a bookstore for a few years as she loves to read. She’s married with two kids, two cats, and too many fish.
Two people from totally different lifestyles. Two people determined not to get involved. Two people who can't resist each other. Two people who travel professionally.
I enjoyed watching these two enjoy a foreign country and their relationship grow. The author does a great job of sharing the country with the reader without detracting from the story.
While Mark hides that he owns the hotel resort it makes no difference to Cora anyway. They met by accident and casual no commitment turned into more they refused to recognize. As a Marine, she could always be transferred. He would leave when his project was finished and running smoothly. Both had a history that held them back.
What happens when all the reasons aren't enough to keep it simple?
Another winner in the series and since I spent some time as a military wife in Okinawa this book is especially close to my heart. Thanks, Lisa Carlisle.
Ms. Carlisle has brought it again, with her latest smoking hot, marine/civilian romance, “MARK” :) Another page-turner right from the start! I love these stories that take us to other parts around the world, especially with this author's amazing attention-to-detail that makes you feel like you’re a fly on the wall right there in the scene! ... This 6th fantastic must read in the ‘ANCHOR ME’ Romance series can be read out of order... Vince & Emma are so relatable as our H/h with steamy chemistry & witty dialogue... I never write spoilers or copy blurbs, and even tho I volunteered to read this, it was without any outside influences & I do buy kindle books whenever I can. So yes, I honestly do recommend this to adult fans of fiction & can’t wait for more! :D
Mark and Cora meet one another at an event. Their relationship develops into a love neither is ready to admit to. I really enjoyed reading this book, so well written!

I really enjoyed this wonderful book. To start I want to say that I loved what I felt was a bit of role reversal with the main characters. I've read so many books where the male is in the military or they both are but very few where only the female is in the military. This was an inspired twist that was fresh and in my opinion very, very welcome because it presents the opportunity to look at something from a different perspective. I found the story engaging and the characters quite likable. Each had some baggage that made them easy to feel for and connect with. I thought these two worked so well as a couple and I was actively rooting for them very quickly. I fell very hard for this emotional read and highly recommend it. This is my volitional, objective review.
This is an emotional rollercoaster ride . Cora is a Marine serving in Okinawa and Mark is a billionaire building a resort there. He's been hurt by the loss of his Military dad at a young age and then the death of his step dad, he vows never to open his heart again until he meets Cora. Cora was engaged to another Marine until they were on separate assignments in different countries and he cheated then the engagement was called off. She vows not to risk her heart again, especially on a long distance one. She has eight months to go on her enlistment. When Mark and Cora meet they swear to each other that this will not turn into what neither one wants, a commitment. Sparks start to fly for both of them, but neither will give in until Cora is transferred and each realizes what has happened.
There are so many twists an turns to this story that it will have you riveted until the very last page and it will have you begging for more. I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes so you can feel their emotions and their pain. I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author. By the way this series are my only contemporary that I truly enjoy!
This is the sixth book in this series though I have the feeling there may have been a prequel as well as I vaguely remember reading it This is Cora and Mark's story We met Cora in the last book Slade she was the marine who helped Caitlin when she was attacked by allowing Slade to enter Caitlin's room through the adjoining bathroom now we get her story
She is a marine with only eight months left on her contract and she isn't really sure what she wants to do She doesn't believe in love after her fiancé a fellow marine cheated on them after posting separated them She meets Mark who is also a little gun shy about relationships he is also hiding a big secret he is a billionaire resort owner but he likes to keep it quite. the sparks between these two is instant and no matter how they try to deny it there is a deep attraction Can they let their walls down and do they have a future You will have to read to see
Cora is a marine in Okinawa who meets a man on the street who helps her convince a fellow marine that he will return her to the base safely. Mark her savior for the night is a billionaire hotel magnate who wants to know Cora better before he tells her who he really is. They spend a nice evening together and they find they like one another. So Mark asks Cora for a favor at the opening she agrees, then they agree to other things but they cannot have any strings attached to whatever they are doing with each other. A look into how one reacts to events from the past that resemble the current times. Drama, romance, and love. I received an ARC via BookFunnel without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.
A beautifully written romance story of two people!s with emotional scars that they are scared to love. But when Marine Cora meets Billionaire Mark sparks fly.She agrees to go on a date with him but tells him she's not a one night stand kind of woman but isn't looking for a relationship because she still has eight months til she's out of the Mari as.Mark hates the military he blamed them because he lost his father at a young age. He's afraid of love too.So they agree to date and then agree to friends with benefits .There are so many twists an turns to this story you will be riveted until the very last page an it will have you begging for more. I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.
Quite a different storyline than what I've read before. This has the woman as the soldier. Cora needs some help and she grabs a man and asks for help getting out of a difficult situation. Mark agrees to help her but he also needs help when he opens his resort. As a Marine, Cora could be transferred at any time. Mark could leave as soon as his resort opens. Two opposites who help each other in another country, Okinawa. There are twists and turns, and emotional turmoil with their relationship. Will these two work out their logistics? I really enjoyed this story very much. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
There are so many reasons I enjoyed this story, the strong characters, the evolution of their relationship, the connection, chemistry and the ease of reading. They both have pasts that have and still are shaping them which gave them depth and helped me to connect with them more. I enjoyed seeing the ups and downs of life in the military from both their views and seeing how just knowing each other changed them. I really enjoyed reading this one.

I am really enjoying this series and this book is no exception, the storyline is something of an emotional rollercoaster ride for both Cora and Mark. I loved that in this story the female was in the military whilst the guy wasn't, an interesting twist, bringing a different perspective to what is more often the norm.
I liked both characters they were easy to relate to, each had issues but as a couple, they just worked! I was engaged in this book from beginning to end, I really wanted things to work put well for them.
This is a great read about two people from two different lifestyles. She's a Marine and doesn’t want to date after being badly hurt and He's a billionaire who wants nothing to do with the military. It’s an emotional rollercoaster ride about two people far from home, who both have baggage, who just wants to get on with their lives. There’s twists and turns and the sparks they are a flying and I really enjoyed the fact that this time it was a female military person. A great addition to this wonderful series!
If you have read anything by this author before, you would know that I have yet to make a complaint about her books, other than a few questions answered about side characters, by giving them their own book. I received this book for an honest review. I loved it! Got billionaire Mark is opening up another hotel near Napa, Okinawa, Japan. He bumps into Cora, a beautiful, badazz Marine one night. He saved her from a well-meaning fellow marine, & Mark and Cora hit it off.
Weird angst mayhem ensues. It made me laugh out loud, bite my nails and cry once. I read it in about three hours. I couldn't put it down! This is a must read.
What a wonderful story. I loved the storyline, I was thinking of Strangers in the Night when Mark and Cora ran into each other. What started out as being the wingman and a getaway turns into so much more. Lisa is a great romantic and it comes out in her stories. I enjoy the feeling of falling with every book.

Cora and Mark struggled against their attraction, basically calling it a fling. But when Cora had to move elsewhere for work it was really tough in them both. Luckily Mark realised that he was in love with Cora and started putting a plan together for them to meet again. Finally when they meet Cora also realised that Mark in the one for her and they have their happily ever after.
Emotional baggage is what Mark nd Cora had to deal with in this story. This not really a spoiler but an indicator that all is not sweet hot. Okay there is quite a bit of hot times but I found this story to be very relatable.

The sixth book in the Anchor Me series another well written story that kept me turning pages. Cora Johnson and Mark Rainero meet when she wants to be by herself and has to get away from a friend, Cora lies about knowing Mark. I enjoyed seeing this story come together. It was well worth reading I would recommend. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a sweet story with two people who are only looking casual relationship but have it turn into more. As both do not have any roots, they don't expect it to go anywhere. They also both have issues with settling down. The book has very little angst and was a basic feel good story from beginning to end.
Cora is a marine stationed in Okinawa when she meets billionaire Mark one night while she was out with her fellows marines. They hit it off and he tells her about the hotels he works for without telling her that he actually owns them. Enjoyed reading how they fell for each other when they least expected it but they were perfect for each other even with the differences in their family upbringing.
Mark and Cora come from two different worlds but they made the perfect couple. She's in the Marines and he's a billionaire. This opposites attract, supposed to be just an affair that turns into so much more and had me cheering the characters on to get their happily ever after romances. Mark is book six and a great addition to the Anchor Me series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This was a quick and enjoyable read. Mark and Cora's story is definitely different to the others in the series. I was reaching for a tissue after Cora was transferred. I'm going to miss this series now that I've finished it, I wouldn't hesitate to read them again from the beginning.
Love this story of a female Marine set in Japan with a billionaire love interest. Great love scenes and interplay of embracing one’s insecurities and past.
It is the 6th book in the Anchor Me series and can be read as a standalone story. Well-written story that pulls you in. The characters are incredibly likable and have a chemistry that sizzles. Entertaining.....
Another great read, with lots of chemistry and hotness. This is a beautifully written story and hooked me from the start. This is a quick hot read, with an interesting plot and fantastic characters, great emotion and Loads of steam!
A very entertaining story with two wonderful characters at the forefront. I loved the strong, intelligent vibe. I enjoyed the travel aspect. It was a well crafted story that pulled me in by the wonderfully written scenes.
I requested a copy of this book so I could provide an honest review.
Normally when you read the a title like this one you would assume like I did that HE was the marine, boy was I wrong. But than I love little twist and surprises. Good book with a good plot

Cora and Mark. She is the Marine, he is the Billionaire. He treats her like a princess or like Cinderella going to the ball. They have chemistry, Super Hot🔥
This was a quick read. Some things came up. Read it for yourself.
