USA Today bestselling author Serenity Woods writes romances about capable men, close communities, and love that lasts. Most of her stories are set in Aotearoa New Zealand, where she lives.
A Secret Between Friends 5* - Heartwrenchingly Beautiful. It was different to read about a heroic wounded female with PTSD and survivor guilt. I loved the idea of Niall and Genie fulfilling Ciara's bucket list and the way the two of them fell in love over it. Cried buckets over the HEA.
An Ocean Between Us 4* - A fun love story, if slightly unbelievable, between a rich and privileged aristocratic Lady and a strap cashed landscape gardener. Hermione has long been lonely, never feeling like she fit in; her childhood spent at boarding school was unhappy and although her time at Uni was happier, she didn't make close friends and those that she did are scattered around Britain. After initial mistaken first impressions on both sides, Hermione and Danny become close. She feels accepted in the Northland of New Zealand and makes friends with the locals, however duty to her family must come first, which means making the marriage expected of her. This is a standalone story but those readers who have read other books in the Series will make contact with old friends.
Right Between the Eyes 4* - Jonah and Billie have been friends, and only friends, for years, despite all their friends seeing the chemistry between them. Billie had a long term partner and Jonah flitted from one girl to another but circumstances change for both of them; their friends force a date on the pair of them and the rest is history!
Reading Between the Lines 5* - Tess and Finn have been within the same group of friends for years but it is only when they travel to Christchurch, to interview for the same job, that they get together. Tess and Finn are great individuals and made for each other. I highly recommend this story.
Between You, Me and the Bedpost 5* - This was a book about overcoming tragedy and pain, coming through to the light on the other side; family and love. I, along with many other readers I am sure, have been rooting for Beck and Josie to get back together. I am so glad the author didn’t decide to give them new love interests.
I voluntarily read and reviewed, individually, an advanced copy of these books from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This series is a real gem in contemporary romance. I adore the three books that I have read so far. The heroes are all such good guys who are also very sexy. You'll never think of wetsuits the same way after Book 1. I highly recommend this boxed set to all romance fans who want wonderful relationship development and gorgeously intimate love scenes!
I absolutely love everything that I read that's been written by Serenity Woods and this box set is another fantastic example of just how good she is. She deals with some hard topics and treats them with the love and compassion that they deserve.
Read books 2-5, as I had read the first a while back. I don’t know why I can’t stop reading books from this author! The setting is *chef’s kiss*. 5 stars because the last 2 books were not what you usually find in this genre. Or at least what I have read so far. The last book especially was hard for me to read, however I couldn’t stop reading and I was really happy with the ending.
Beautifully written, this boxset tells the stories of a group of people who overcome all sorts of personal obstacles to find love. Beck’s bar is called “Between the Sheets” and is the local gathering for the group, so the books are all interconnected while being standalones. In her usual way, Serenity Woods has given us stories that are packed with emotion, lots of steamy moments and characters that end up feeling like your own friends - especially reading them all in order in a boxset! By the time I got to the end, I felt like getting in a plane and going to meet them all for a drink at Beck’s bar!! While I loved them all, my favorite is Beck and Josie’s story. Beck is definitely a swoon worthy hero and my heart just broke for Josie and her struggles. I’m so glad they both got their HEA in the end!
