Bucking bull shifter, Quickdraw Slow Burn, has had one focus, and one focus alone—winning that coveted title of number one bull in the world at the final Battle of the Bulls event. He’s trained relentlessly for this day, but he’s been drawn into a small herd of other monstrous bull shifters and is figuring out that he doesn’t have to celebrate his successes, or mourn his losses, alone anymore. When he meets Annabelle Faulk at a rodeo, she doesn’t look so intimidating, but she's got one gnarly wolf residing inside of her. Maybe that's part of the attraction. Quickdraw has tried and failed to find a match before, but this time is different. One unexpected night with her has him hooked, addicted, and bewitched. But when she finally accepts the plane tickets he’s been sending her to meet up again, she isn’t the same woman he met a month ago. Something has changed in her, and Annabelle’s reserve around him is confusing. It’s messing with his head, right before the biggest bucking event of his life. Annabelle has a big secret; he just can’t figure out what it is.
Annabelle Faulk is in big trouble. Something unexpected has happened to her that will change the course of her life forever. There’s a man she can’t stop thinking about in Quickdraw, but she is hyper-aware of how she could alter his life as well, and it has the potential to kill his career. When she finally goes to confront him, he doesn’t make it easy to cut ties. In fact, he’s caring toward her, and protective, and all the things she and her wolf have always wanted in a mate. It’s really hard to say a necessary goodbye, when goodbye is the last thing on earth she wants to do. Caught between a rock and a hard place, she is now growing that protective instinct to keep him safe from what’s happening. Someone is poisoning the bulls, and Quickdraw is the number one target. No matter what their future holds, Annabelle and Quickdraw have to keep each other alive…no matter what.

Annabelle really made this one work for me. I liked that in the previous book she was with the herd and had fun, along with a connection to Quickdraw. Now with that being said, I can totally understand why she was reluctant to come back and spend time with the herd. The stakes were much higher this time around and she didn't want to get hurt. Quickdraw was a bluntly honest guy and from the start he let her know what he was interested in(her) and that if she ever wanted to know something to ask, because he didn't get a lot of social ques that most people ask questions from. And while that was good, some of the questions Quickdraw answered wasn't quite what she needed/wanted to hear. Yet when push came to shove Quickdraw's actions were in total opposite of his words and in a good way. In a way that Annabelle knew she was in the right place with the right guy.
This is such a great series, I’m really enjoying it so much and this book ‘Quickdraw Slow Burn’ (the third in the series) had me again smiling from the beginning until the end. In this story we get again both POV’S. Although each book is about a different couple, in each book we see all the previous characters again. It’s so lovely to see how all these individual, lonely but strong shifters are slowly but surely building a herd of their own. How these dangerous bull men shifters are becoming protective of each other and their mates, how they tease each other. Their (sarcastic) comments and their actions have me smiling and laughing. But the stories are also a little bit emotional. Their dangerous and sometimes crazy bulls are making their lives difficult at times. But living in a herd help them a lot, there is understanding, loyalty, friendship and love.
This story is about the number one bucking bull shifter Quickdraw Slow Burn and Raven’s best friend (who is a wolf shifter) Annabelle Faulk. Both characters are wonderful. Quickdraw is quiet, he isn’t very social (but then none of the guys are) he’s even very grumpy and really needs his own space. But he’s also very loyal, protective and very strong. He’s intelligent and he lives for his sports. Annabelle is positive, kind, strong, very protective and also very loyal. Both their shifter’s sides were very dangerous, predatory, territorial, you can even say they have a dark side and that makes that both are also very lonely. Their animals don’t trust easily and they don’t like other humans very much. So from the beginning they feel that in the other . And not only their human sides are attracted to the other also their animal is attracted to the other. But both Annabelle and Quickdraw have been hurt in the past by other a partner so they are careful at first. But some emotions you can’t push away, they are there and they grow, if you want to or not. Their connection is built on honesty and trust. They really are a wonderful couple.
In this story we also discover who wants to hurt the bull shifters and why. I didn’t expected it but it does make a lot of sense.
I’m very looking forward to the next story in this series.
OMG can they get any better? Quickdraw the meanest orneriest bull of all is the sweetest of them, but don't tell anybody, or he'll trample you all over the place. Only one person can do that and guess what she's the last thing you'd imagine in a herd.... a wolf shifter, but yea she's got that meanies heart and ain't nobody gonna say any different to Quickdraw.
She's a lone wolf that spent a night in the arms of Quickdraw and now she can't forget him and she's got a whole lot of reason not to besides his lovin'.
If I thought Dead was a sweetheart, he's got nothing next to Quickdraw. I mean they are both sweet, but in different ways and that's ok.
Ladies, get ready to laugh, cry, get mad and whoop!
Quickdraw is the next Bull to find his mate❣️When Annabelle finally comes to meet back up with the herd, it’s to find the herd in danger of being poisoned and another surprise she’d been hoping for❤️
This story was definitely more angsty than previous stories and kept me wanting to read and glued to the pages to find out what would happen next and if this couple would get their HEA🤩 Can’t wait for Train Wreck’s story😁
Oh my this is a wonderful story. I loved how these two came together and began to solve the mystery of poisoned shifters. Great book, fun characters and entertaining funny dialogue too. Excited that there is going to be another book in this series.
I didn’t realize I was reading out of order till I as 50% done and felt so lost. I just couldn’t get into the characters or story line. Not like me with this author because I love her stuff.
I didn’t really connect with Annabelle until toward the end of the book for some reason. I enjoyed her and Quickdraw’s story but not as much as Two Shots and Dead’s. I loved the end though with Dead playing the baby’s heartbeat for Quickdraw. The three guys developed a great bond.
Not much to say here. Though there might be ⚠️ spoilers ⚠️
Not real complaints, except for the weird part where we’re told yet again that shifters only breed boys. Despite Raven being a born shifter. I’d say all the female shifters born on and around “Damon’s Mountains “ don’t count because maybe they weren’t in the same world but a pen in the last book that mentioned “Willa’s Worms” ,kills that notion. Plus there’s the female raven, snowy owl, falcon, fox, tiger, lion, panther and possibly snow leopard females out there that were all born not bitten. How could I forget bear and dragon ? Any way. So the notion that a baby born to any of these couples _has_to_be_a_boy_ just feels off . That really bugged me but otherwise I felt a really good story.
Three stars ⭐️ because it just didn’t land right for me personally. Annabelle and Quick’s relationship just felt to backwards for me. Meeting each other and having sex the same day they meet then going back together ( with a secret surprise) worked with Gia and Creed. But Gia wasn’t as tightly wound, she was more open and full of regret over past mistakes and even with his fears and his mishandling of things when he first finds out,it felt right . That worked for me. But Gia and Creed one time was a quickie in the back of a truck. Any awkwardness would have made sense. Anna and Quick have a long sober chat, eat dinner together and make time for pillow talk and cuddling after sex. Then carry on w/txt’s and phone calls after,to go from all of that to Anna’s fearful awkwardness and reserve just felt off. Then to go to going for an almost slow burn/build up between them, all the while there’s still the mystery of who’s trying to hurt the bulls,it just didn’t work for me. I felt frustrated by it all. It’s was like too much and not enough all at the same time. And while I won’t give away who or why they were after the bulls, it was a very interesting twist I wish had been explored more. The plot was bigger than could have been guessed at and I honestly would have loved to have known more .
Overall I’d definitely would recommend it. It didn’t really work for me but it’s well worth a read. Ps. Train Wreck looks yummy! His cover is inside as usual and I’m ver curious about his story. Love all the Bulls but Dead and Raven have been my favorite so far.
Quickdraw Slow Burn is the third title in the Battle of the Bulls series, and this time we’re going to get more suspense as the stakes are higher, the danger more real in Quickdraw’s and Annabelle’s story. While each story is complete in itself (the main characters getting their HEA), I would still strongly suggest reading this series in order for it does, in so many ways, build on what happened previously – plus they are all amazing stories to see unfold.
When we left Raven’s and Dead’s story in Dead of Winter, we see the brief connection that Quickdraw and Annabelle make at the hospital. Some of the action between them happens off-page, between then and where this story begins. That is my only “I wish” moment of their story.
Quickdraw is a very straightforward acting man, he has no intention of taking a mate, having kids, making a life with one special woman… or at least that’s what he tells himself and Annabelle when they reunite. Trouble is everything about how Quickdraw acts around and thinks about Annabelle screams “mate” but he’s stubborn yet always tells her exactly how he feels, there’s no fluff, no false promises here. Annabelle has to make a life-changing decision soon and Quickdraw certainly isn’t making that choice easy for her.
The underlying danger to all of the bull shifters is ramping up, becoming more dangerous, more deadly. Annabelle will find herself right in the middle of trying to keep Quickdraw and the others safe as they set a plan in motion.
Quickdraw Slow Burn is intense, sizzlingly sexy, and takes the danger factor up a few notches. I had a blast back with this herd again, there’s more to come (I love when an author has an obvious stopping place to a series and then goes just a bit beyond for more of that world). If you love a really good Shifter Romance full of bantering, shenanigans, danger, and sexiness then you’d love the Battle of the Bulls series.
Quickdraw Slow Burn, a Bucking Bull shifter who had one focus and that was to become the number one bull in the world at the final Battle of the Bulls event. He was a part of a herd of monsters with Two Shots & Dead. He wasn't alone anymore, others had his back and vice versa.
Then he meets a beautiful, Wolf shifter named Annabelle Faulk at the rodeo. They had an unexpected and wonderful night together. He'd tried to find a mate before but it had failed now he knew that things would be different. She finally accepted his ticket to come and see him ride.
Annabelle Faulk, a Wolf shifter who had something wonderful happened to her and her inner animal. They've found their mate and he was a Bull shifter. She knew she could changed his life forever so when she decided to go and see him. She realized that he was more ti him than beneath the eyes.
Quickdraw didn't want any children, being the last of the Burns, he told Annabelle about his past. A past that nearly caused him everything, she understood where he was coming from in spite of how much he was killing her inside. They still got to know each other and over time, things became to change for Quickdraw.
There was someone posing the bulls and they've set their sights on Quickdraw and the rest of the bull shifters. Together Anna and Quickdraw got the culprits even though the main trouble maker was still out in the wind. Loved how she was no longer a lone wolf.
It was a treat to see Quickdraw finally get his HEA. It was also a pleasure to catch up with the Kaids.
QUICKDRAW SLOW BURN is the third book in T. S. Joyce's BATTLE OF THE BULLS series. What an exciting, fun, intoxicating and fascinating ride. T. S. Joyce did an astonishing job! 5++++
This is the third book in this series. They should be read in order. Someone is out to poison the bulls. Quickdraw and Annabelle spent one night together a month ago. Neither can stop thinking about each other. Annabelle finally agrees to come to the rodeo again and have a second chance with Quickdraw. Annabelle is in denial about something. Really, she is scared that it will make Quickdraw think of her differently. She is different from the last time Quickdraw saw her. Can he figure out why? Annabelle is going to help them find the people trying to take out the bull shifters. Annabelle and Quickdraw are in for one wild ride. This was a fun read. I love Annabelle as an addition to the herd. She and Raven are already friends and grew up together. Quickdraw is the hard alpha male who has this sweet soft spot for Annabelle. Both of them have baggage but their darkness matches. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I love the whole herd and can’t wait for them to get to people trying to hurt them. Fantastic job T.S. Joyce.
There is such excitement when TS Joyce announces her next book’s arrival. We anxiously wait, because we know our hearts are gonna be feelin’ the feels. She NEVER disappoints!
Quickdraw Slow Burn, book 3, continues her series, Battle of the Bulls. Which makes one ponder...How can an author choose to write about shifter bull riding and make it work?
This is where we TS Joyce’s spectacular level of writer connectivity!
I truly believe, especially after reading both her gator, and now bull shifter books, that she could take ANY creature and write a paranormal romance that would rival a human tale of trials, and yearning. Betrayal and Lust. Heartbreak and Longing. But especially poignant Happily Ever Afters!
Her books are about the struggles that make US who we are. And whether a silverback gorilla shifter or a chicken shifter, the FEELINGS are what bleed through in EVERY book!
First of all I love this series. One of her best...well all of them are awesome but you know what I mean...this is epic. Anyways, even though I still liked it I didnt love it and man that is a first for me with T's books. I think it was because we missed out on their night together and what happened leading up and after. Then hello surprise and Annabelle goes and sees him for his shows. I wasnt on board with her at first because she wasnt even going to tell him and I'm just not a fan of that. She was going to wait and see what he's really like and then maybe. Now, I get she's had a hard life and had an epically bad break up previously but no....you dont do that girl! She started to grow on me but that part is still at the back of my mind. This book just felt different to me compared to the others. I dont know what it was precisely but just didnt mesh as well. I look forward to the next book and I am sooo glad he gets a book!
When I read this book I got the sense that Ms. Joyce had found her formula and was sticking with it. This pretty much goes for books four and five as well. From this book forward, they kind of run together.
The usual humor was absent and I knew who baddies baddies were from the beginning. The love story is strangely impersonal. It's kind of like they agree to be mates and just go with it without making a real connection. The MCs had one night together before the book starts and then Quickdraw pursues Annabelle by sending her plane tickets so she can join him on the rodeo circuit. She got pregnant on that night, but Quickdraw is very independent and doesn't want to get into relationships or have children. It all works out, obviously, but I never really felt the connection between the hero and heroine.
T.S. Joyce has done it again. Her characters are awesome and their stories are an emotional roller coaster ride. Quickdraw is the top shifter bull in the world. His bull is massive and hates everyone. Annabelle is Raven's best friend and a visit to her friend ends in a one night hookup with Quickdraw. A few weeks go by and Quickdraw keeps inviting her back but she doesn't take him up on the offer. Until she realizes she's late and there's a good chance she's pregnant. She finally gives in and goes back. Neither one was looking forever but that all changes. Someone is trying to kill the shifter bulls and she and Quickdraw get caught in the middle and almost lose their lives. The story is excellent and I couldn't stop reading it until I finished it.
An edge of my seat story! I waited for this one and I loved it! We get to see more into QuickDraw. Why he is...and how he really feels about the herd. When Annabelle becomes involved with his life. He changes..she changes. I Just wish we could have seen her wolf. She came off as super terrifying but never really got to see it.
I have many passages highlighted. I mean with Dead on the pages how could I not!? The man rounds out these boys nicely. Not only Dead but QuickDraw says some might nice things too.
I am very excited that the author decided to write another one!!! First Time train wreck could be joining the herd. He used to be a jerk but now he is seeing the light. I can’t wait!
I flew through the first three books in this series and enjoyed every minute of it. Dead of Winter is still my favorite, but I did like Quickdraw as well. The "conflict" in this book is immediately recognizable and isn't a trope I particularly enjoy. That is the main reason I'm only giving it 4 stars. This book does do a good job of setting up the next book in the series. I'll read that eventually, but seeing as how that features someone who isn't one of the main trio, I'm not in a rush.
Thoroughly enjoyable and emotional read. Great main characters in Annabelle and QuickDraw, they are a perfect balance together. Was a bit worried in the beginning about a couple of things but everything smooths out beautifully and falls into its correct place. Great storyline overall but I hated that one of the younger bulls from the previous books dies and that we do not get complete closure as too those who are doing the poisoning. We do get background and information about who and why but no resolution. Perhaps in the next book. Proofreading errors were annoying. Read through Kindle Unlimited.
Okay wow. T. S. Joyce did it again. Quickdraw had me enthralled from the get go. Annabelle was such a lovely character. I have had the best time reading this series. The thinking out of box shifters with quick witted comments and serious heart warming moments. The story gripped me by the reins, bucked me, spinned me and tosses me into the air. Landing hard and dusty. Please note this book is a part of a series and reading it by itself you will loose the love, fun, excitement and bucking feeling. A quick easy shifter romance that will give you goosebumps and smiles.
I liked it! The second book of this series is still my favorite but this is number two to that one- better than the first.
Annabelle shows up to the finals to see QuickDraw and yeah, they already met and got together off the page- not my favorite story line - but I enjoyed her and QuickDraw getting together and seeing the rest of the herd again. It made me want to go reread books 1 & 2, actually.
Of course there is no question of Annabelle being what she suspects (hint) or how he will respond - it’s a romance after all... but it still had believable tension.
I’m so glad I get a Joyce book once a month. Her and Ruby Dixon are the main reason I keep a KU subscription!
I have been excited about Quickdraw's book since this series started. I liked this story fine, but I didn't love it like I had hoped. Quick is fantastic. He's more serious and somber than the others were. But he's a straight shooter and trying so hard to be a good man for Annabelle. I really didn't care for her though. TS has written alot of women with bad relationship histories and most don't handle it the way Annabelle does. I felt like Quick deserved more. And he was the last to know too many big things.
I did like the progression of the circuit drama. And we get another bull!
I loved Quickdraw and came to love Annabelle as well. I like that the story beneath the love story is slowly unfolding. The romance and smexy times are always great but I love a good suspense story and this does not disappoint. I read a couple of other reviews and you can tell a good writer when the negative reviews are about a character's character, rather than critiquing the author's writing or world building. While this book had a couple of Typos, I don't blame the author but the editor, and they weren't too distracting from the story itself. So disappointed the next book isn't out yet. Will definitely look for it, hope it is out soon. Well worth your time and $$
I have been a very big fan and will continue to be a fan of T.S Joyce. If you’ve read her stuff and have enjoyed her work this won’t let you down. Light and easy reading with characters you’ll grow to love! She has created a world that works. I love getting the little moments where we read about old favorites! If light, sexy and fun shifter romances are your jam then she will be the perfect author for you! At first I didn’t think I’d get behind the bull shifters but she’s worked her magic and I am so here for it!! As always I am left wanting more!
Best book ever! I liked so many things about this book. The name Tuff is perfect. I can not wait to find out what Tuff actually is. What Quickdraw said at the end about his son was perfect. Them playing the heartbeat to Quick in his bull form was perfect. So many things that were a part of this story melted my heart and just were a great fit in this story. I did not see the reason coming for all of the poisoning of the bulls. I enjoy all of your books. This book really pulled a lot of this series together. I loved it!
He believes there is a monster in him, she longs for a family. Someone is determined to ruin them. Will they figure out who before it is too late? Will they accept what the other comes with?
Every time I think this author can't top a past character, I am proven wrong. This has now become another one of my favorite men in her series. I loved the fact that she saw the good in him and was able to accept him as he was. I loved seeing him soften up and show a side that others didn't get to see. Wonderful book and cannot wait for the next!

As always Ms Joyce brings the laughter the love and the baddies. I have read all her books and this series is just as awesome as the others, she even pops things in about Willa the worm farmer. Quick and Anna work hard to not hurt each other but realise theyre meant to be. Then add some bad guys who mess with the bull shifters and all hell breaks lose. Put your cowboy hat on and kick up your boots on the coffee table and get ready for a very awesome story.... oh and dont forget your favorite sparkly beer to drink while reading and your skittles.
Quickdraw is a great character. He knows what he wants and takes steps to get it. But throughout the story he grew by leaps and bounds as a person. Of course we already knew a bit about Annabelle as she was Raven's best friend. There is more to learn though. I believe that you will enjoy this story if you have read the previous books as the storyline concerning the poisoning continues. I am excited that we will be getting a fourth book soon. I love these rough, tough men with a bit of a sensitive side.
I have been reading T.S. Books for some years now and I have to say that I love them more now. She is amazing and keeps surprising us with new adventures and excellent writing. This is one of my favorite books from her. I won’t give anything away but you have to read the series. Oh and I am so happy that the bulls story doesn’t end yet and First Time Train Wreck is getting his story too. Can’t wait for January to come. Love this and all of your other books. Keep rockin’ and being your amazing you.
