Summoning dragons exacts a price. Can they afford to pay it?

Augum, Bridget and Leera are the first to summon dragons in thousands of years. But the ancient spell inflicts an unforeseen side effect—after every casting, it turns them against each other.

As the Canterran army plunders their kingdom, Katrina Von Edgeworth uses her siege engine dragon to crush all resistance. The trio, fledglings at fighting in the air, soon find themselves outmatched.

Now everything hangs by a thread and Augum, Bridget and Leera must somehow carve a path to victory—without gouging each other’s eyes out.

Little do they know the enemy is readying a deadly surprise.

Augum is intolerably arrogant, and suffers from some extreme Mary Sue and Chosen One. Everything he does is brilliant, and he is the only one who can move the plot forward, despite the equal capabilities of the two girls. Meanwhile, Leera's entire personality is just 'being dirty and awkward'. The interactions between she and Augum, particularly at the start of the book, are groan-worthy in their cheesiness. Then again, there's a lot of cheesiness in the book, with nostalgia and concordant need to tie up every little thing overshadowing the storyline. Perhaps this book needed to be two, or even three, allowing for more character development and richer storylines without having to jam it all in at once.

I have huge respect for Sever and I do enjoy the world he's built, but I think my journey with the trio ends here.

Too much dialogue and teenage romance, had to keep skipping 😪

Would've been much better to see more skill /spell focus/advancement like the first series!!

Big shame that there wasn't one detailed visual description of a dragon as well and "barn lengths" aren't a great unit of measurement....

Really loved the first series and this one did have promise, yet fell short in my view 😥

Finally! I have been waiting for this final book of this series with a real wish to see how this all turns out. And I was not disappointed! Our trio of hero's found their way through one cliffhanging adventure after another, each particular adventure as challenging and exciting as one whole book, it was like a treat of one real drama after another. The human side, with real friendship, suffering and love, complications of being a teenager at the same time of having the responsibility of adults, with the added difficulties of finding that becoming a dragon in fact, able to fly and do battle as a dragon has side effects that threaten the soul and life of each one of them. And then, the whole cast of friends and even enemies join in this both very human and heroic scale drama. But, and really but, if you have not read all the stories that precede this last book, please go back to the very beginning as start our where all stories start, at the beginning. You will be in for a joyous ride that will take you some months of delightful reading.. Enjoy! I should mention that I turned 80 this summer, and have been reading this kind of literature since I was 12 or so, so consider me a valid judge!!!!!

I am part of the Advanced Reader Team and was given a copy of this book before the actual Release Date

And i am so happy I was! This is an exceptional ending to the Fury of a Rising Dragon Series. I could not put this book down. There were so many twists and turns, I really enjoyed reading this book. If your a fan of the Arinthian Line Series of the Rising Dragon Series, I highly recommend this book. And if your not a fan, go pick up ALL of Server's books, they are a great read and well worth it!

Without giving anything away, this book expertly balances the horrors of War, the pain of loss and the fleeting hope and spirit of people locked in war. There is a mix of sadness, triumph and fun in equal measures, and you will not be disappointed when you read this book. I felt like I was right alongside the characters in this book, as they were well developed. Many questions and threads were tied up, and I was left wanting more once t he story had ended. The ending left me aching to read more, and excited for the future!

Highly recommend this book if your a fan of the series, and highly recommend the The Arinthian Line (The previous series) and the Fury of a Rising Dragon if your a new fan or searching for a new series to enjoy

An amazing end to the series!

This book as with all the others in the series was absolutely AMAZING! When the time comes to bring a series to a “close” authors tend to rush and don’t always give a fulfilling end but that definitely isn’t the case here. I can’t begin to explain how nervous I was getting toward the final page waiting to see if I would end up unsatisfied or angry with the ending but as I turned that final page and closed the book. I was greatly pleased with how it turned out sever did an amazing job and I can’t think of a better ending. I only wish that we get to continue to watch the trio grow and see the trials and difficulties they must overcome in the future.

Please read this series it's a joy and needs to be read

I cant give enough praise how wonderful it is to see the characters grow and with each page you can see the author growing along with them. From the beginning series the author creates a unique world of magic and slows devolops the character and the world. Alot of authors go through and nerf and buff the main people. Gets boring after awhile. What I enjoy is how the author allows the characters to grow but the vilians and the quests are balanced and realistic to how one would imagine it happening in the world the author created. Another thing I appreciate it all the minor characters playing their part and devoloping. Not everyone has to be a high warlock. Everyone has thier place and fit in the story. Thank you for writing this series I can't wait to read more and I'm really excited for what comes next.

Really like the author notes explaining his process and giving you ideas on what he is thinking about writing next. It makes you excited but doesn't spoil anything.

An awesome ending to a great series!

Well, there was a lot of plot points to weave up. I felt like he did a great job and it was awesome to see the things Augum was able to come up to level the playing field. I had felt that possibly having dragon forms might make the trio too powerful (like when the scion was in their position) but he kept it balanced and fun - the ending was harrowing. Sad to see how our favorite couple got dealt heavy cards again.

If you havent started reading the series, start with the first set! You have several books to go before you get here! If you stopped, nows a good moment to start rather than waiting for the ending...

And Sever Bronny - start the next series already!

This was a very satisfying and exciting conclusion to this series.

I love how magic has consequence in this world. You can't cast a game-changing spell in this world without some major downsides, and I love that they're usually appropriate to the spell they're casting. Too many magic systems ignore or downplay any side effects or downsides.

The characters are also very well written and their actions make sense with who they are. Put this all together and you get a compelling read. While I wouldn't start with this book, as it's a conclusion, not a beginning, this an excellent read and I enjoyed watching the events play out. I definitely recommend this to any who's read Bronny's works in the past!

Best book in the series and in this world yet. It is one of my favourite reads till date and has set a rather high bar for future books.

One of the only negatives in the book was that the plot was mainly driven by Augum because he was the only POV we are given and it was a little sad to see that Bridget and Leera were not able to drive the plot as much as they were in the previous books (their part mainly being in the romance' department this time instead of the 'combat and politics' side of things). Multiple POV might have helped here a lot. There was also the fact that the book had too many plot points to fit in one edition and might have been elaborated on in a two-part book. Overall, the book is an amazing read whose flaws are quite easy to not even notice in the high pace.

I can’t recall a single moment where I wasn’t entranced by this book, playing out like a movie in my mind with ease. All of Sever Bronny’s strengths culminate in this final book of the second series for the tales of Silthesia, and many of his weaknesses and mistakes are left behind. The world is so vivid and connected, the characters as realistic and relatable as ever, and the balance between the heroes’ power and the immense challenges they face felt shockingly balanced. And the lessons, my word. I love the incorporation of meditation, the spiritual journey and the internal battle that peaks in this book. They are delivered through wide words and poetic phrases that simply elate my soul. This shit is GAS!!!

Wow, what a thrilling ending to this saga. I thought the last book was full of drama and action. If you love a good epic fantasy, you cant go past this series.

Champion's Wrath (Fury of a Rising Dragon) reaches a climax in so many ways. For our three hero's, Augum, Lerra and Bridget, now as Arcaners have the ability to transform into dragons but not without a few hiccups or difficulties along the way. The final battle as a climax to this series has so many twists and turns but finally the kingdom is saved and 'Katrina Von Edgeworth' and her siege engine dragon is finally defeated.

If you love epic fantasy, you can't go past what Server Bronny has captured in these books!

A Great Ending to A Great Series

I have read reviews that were unhappy that the couple's had physical relations. I understand that some young people have read the series so this wasn't appreciated for that audience. But in the books all the heros are well above adult age and they follow an Archaner code not a Christian code and they are true to that code.

Great Storytelling, great adventures, great heroes, great fantasy, and Great Ending.

I love the character building of all the heroes even though the villains were still flat. I bever felt empathy with the bad guys.

I definitely recommend this for an escape from reality for a while.

I loved it, but to much focus on augum and his feats. If there’s more on the trio I hope they blend more together and work together more, or tone down the overpowered vibes, everyone loves seeing there main character go all out but it puts to much focus on a singular character. What about later in life he’s more sly and politically oriented focusing on diplomacy and teaching, I think the next book should build on the politics of your world and also present and bring light to other countries and there people, looking at books like assassin’s apprentice most of the book is about the internal politics of a country and its problems something like that would be amazing to see.

Amazing Finale

I enjoyed Champion’s Wrath immensely with all its emotional twists and turns. I recommend this book and its series, Fury of a Rising Dragon, to anyone looking for a great fantasy world to get lost in. If you’d like to start at the beginning of the story of Augum, Bridget, and Leera I recommend first reading the Arinthian Line series, starting with Arcane. Thank you to Sever Bronny for devoting so much time and effort to endeavor and can’t wait to read what else you have to offer!

Epic

Another astonishingly good story. This series continues to satisfy, explore, and build. The unfailing friendship, compassion and good nature of the heroes, despite the dual balance of evil and good within the nature of their new dragon power makes the story that much more intriguing.

In 2020 when truth and fact is not easily discernable and catastrophic and historic change abound, it is a comfort to escape into this story where truth is visible, evil is conquered and sacrifice is honored.

Champion's Wrath

I read a lot and have reviewed many excellent authors, books and series, but Sever Bronny's Arinthian Line and Fury of a Rising Dragon series is my favourite fantasy series. The book s are looking enough to be a " full meal " that can entertain for days instead of "snack books" that can be finished in under 2.5 hours.

The author has to trim the content of the book to have I stay at 750 pages and I wish the content had stayed in as I love the characters and storyline.

This was a fitting end to the series mostly - some of the combat seemed a bit over the top or otherwise not helpful, but they managed to level up the threats enough that this became a definite struggle to the end. There were again some sadder reflections and some more powerful moments, and apart from the ancient magic yet again appearing to help to save the day, it was a good story which was maybe more happy than it could have been!

It definitely leaves itself open for more work in the universe.

Great Conclusion to a Good Series

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this and the previous series. The moments of enjoying then way outweighed the moments of not enjoying them. That being said, one character in particular almost made me want to stop reading many times and is why I gave the series four instead of five stars, Leera and her over the top rebel attitude. Others may of enjoyed the character but I kept wishing the author would pull a Game of Thrones and just kill her off. I would highly recommend this and the lead up series though.

If I could give those half a star I would…. The author talks about wanting to grow the characters but seems to love and I mean LOVE trivial teenage drama crap… It’s like he has zero intent to grow them and basically wrote in a side effect of being a dragon so he could have not needed drama… Every time they revert I find myself skimming pages because listening to them talk is ridiculously dumb…

The story itself of these books has so much potential to be amazing, but this author just absolutely ruins what could be great story telling with so much bloated material…

A brilliantly written conclusion!

This book is exciting, clever and above all pure escapism! I've watched the main characters, Augum, Leera and Bridget grow and mature from the Arinthian Line series through this , The Fury of a Rising Dragon series. How the trio matured as young people and how they each mastered magic through their journey. Here they searched for a special spell, old and deadly, to summon dragons to defeat the enemy and save their people and land. However, here I warn you of a shocking twist, there could be dangerous side affects to the user. Will they survive? And if so at what cost? I loved every minute of it... I enjoyed the dangerous situations, the many obstacles and how they coped. The author explored friendship, love, heartbreak and treachery with many twists and turns. It's all here in this exciting well written conclusion. Sever Bronny is an amazing storyteller. I highly recommend his books!

Three Awesome Series

I just finished Champion's Wrath, the last of author Bronny's Arinthian books (so far: hint, hint!) and have loved every one. It's a rare lengthy series that gets better with each successive book, but this was definitely one of them. Now I have to face the dreaded letdown that I experience after completing something so enjoyable, because it usually takes some time to find another story good enough to immerse myself in so fully. Take the time to read this; it's outstanding.

Brilliant storytelling, page turner, gripping plot

Great plot, satisfying adventure and intrigue.

If you are looking for a fantasy fiction series where the author introduces wit, adventure, a great plot, teenage drama (the fun kind), battle scenes, intrigue and good vs evil, then this is what you need.

I would strongly recommend trying the Arinthian line series first and then this series. You will likely not be able to stop reading once you start.

simply amazing

I loved the book as i always have with books of yours. Your kind of storytelling and balancing are simply unparalleled compared to many writers out there. The storytelling, flow , twists and turns all fit together seamlessly and spin together into one of the greatest books of 2020.

ps i think "He unconsiously flicked the corner of the cube and sent it spinning out of habbit" is refering to my post on your page if it is then thank you 😀

If you enjoyed the story you will like the ending

There are so many ways this book could go, but it remained true to the character of the characters, struggling with the same conundrum as they ( Augum) started with. Which is to say we may not be able to change the world but we can change our place in it. As each book has explained, the dark forces will always be there, but our cleaver champion will continue to find new ways to push them down.

I one again loved Sever's work

Really enjoyed this conclusion to the series of fury of a rising dragon. Thought it was well written and the plot was also good. Not to slow but not to fast. But at the same time making me not want to put the book down. It made me happy at parts and melancholy also. Overall great book and can't wait to read more about the trio.

Amazing!

Having stuck with these characters through so many different trials and tribulations is amazing journey. One of my absolute favorite coming of age and fantasy stories. Well written to the 20th degree! Can't wait for more of our trio but also digging the hint of maybe more Mrs. Stone. Thanks for a terrific read so far!
