Witching for Kismet by Deanna Chase has Carly Preston shocked when Jeremiah Vance announces that he believes his younger brother is still alive. It has been thirty years since the accident happened. Jeremiah needs Carly and the help of the Premonition Pointe coven to locate his brother. Witching for Kismet is the 6th book in the Premonition Pointe series. It can be read as a standalone for those new to the series. I thought Witching for Kismet was well-written with realistic characters. Carly Preston is a strong woman who is intelligent and knows her own mind. I like that she is a mature protagonist. The story moved along at a quick pace thanks to all the action. I liked that there was more magic in this story. We get to learn more about Carly and the incident that changed her life. We get to reconnect with the characters from the previous five books as the help Carly with her search. I like that we get to see how all the ladies are doing. These ladies are a great group of friends. They are there for each other which is wonderful. They have each other’s backs (there is no backbiting or fair-weather friends). You could feel the friendship and love in this group. I like the humor in the story. There is one scene that had me laughing out loud. I enjoyed the action in this tale which had me quickly turning to the pages to see what would happen next. I like how the magic each person uses reflects on the individual. It can be a pretty magic that smells like vanilla or evil, black magic that makes a person’s skin crawl. The romance played out as I expected, and it shows that there is a someone out there for each of us. You never know when love will find us. There is foul language in the book, but there is not as much as in previous books. Witching for Kismet is a magical tale with a missing mate, a fond niece, helpful potions, an adolescent accident, an evil enemy, an old school crush, and a concerned Coven.

Witching for Kismet by Deanna Chase is the sixth and final book in this paranormal womens' fiction series. Carly Preston's past comes back not to haunt her but to allow her to solve a mystery. Grace, Hope, Joy. Iris and Gigi are all there to help her resolve her past and move forward into a new future. Magic, drama, family, friendships and a little romance made this a perfect afternoon read. I'm sorry to see this series end but Witching for Kismet was the perfect final book.

Absolutely loved this book! I am a very huge fan of books where the characters are older then 20. The story did not disappoint. You can read this book alone or as part of the series. It is definitely a page turner. This book is a must read!

I was looking forward to this book as soon as the last one ended. We are going to get Carly's story. I just know this book was going to be good. It was such a rocky road for Carly. She has to learn that Premonition Pointe is her home and the people in it really do want to be her friends. She has the coven of good friends. She just needs to learn they are all there for the right reasons.

This book brings a bad accident from Carly's past back up. With that we are interduce to Jeremiah (Carly's had a crush on him in school) . He needs help finding his brother. That happened to be Carly's best friend from High school. Also, he was supposed to have been killed in a accident with Carly's twin sister 30 some years ago.

All these twist and turns, people showing up, and Carly trying to be just herself has you wonder if they will find Zane. I was sucked in from the beginning. Very fast read. I couldn't put it down for long. We get all our favorite people and lots more magic. All pluses in my book.

You are going to love how this book goes. You are going to be interduce to some new people that is going to be hard not to love.

Pick this book up. It can be read as a stand alone but I would read them all in order so you know all the people in the book.

The Rescue . . .

Carly Preston, a well-loved Hollywood star and a witch, has been living a lie for the past 30 years and it’s now catching up to her. She had thought she could let it go, but it has always been there to haunt her. But a message arrives to shake everything she thought she knew as fact about the boating accident that took the life of Zane and her sister.

Now Jeremiah Vance, who had blamed Carly for the accident, is asking for her help. His brother Zane, Carly's best friend, had died 30 years ago. Yet it looks like perhaps he might still be alive! When Carly’s niece is taken, she won’t let this go! With the help of Premonition Pointe’s coven, can they find Zane, Liam, and Harlow? Can they rescue them? Can solving this mystery finally bring peace and closure, and perhaps another chance for Jeremiah and Carly to find a HEA together?

The story line is fast-paced, and the characters are strong and realistic. It was so nice to see everyone pull together to resolve this mystery. The action was thrilling and kept the reader on edge waiting to see what would happen next. Grab your copy and enjoy the author’s excellent story! It’s amazing from start to finish!

It's Carly's turn to find some closure and a second chance at romance and I AM HERE FOR IT. She also uncovers a kind of nasty...uhh, I'm not sure what to call it. A morally reprehensible entrepreneurial enterprise that really really REALLY needs to be stopped? Yeah, let's go with that.

So. A tragedy thirty years ago shattered Carly's world and sent the man she could have loved running from her. Jeremiah made it very clear what he thought of Carly back then and she's pretty much shocked beyond belief when he shows up on her doorstep asking for help. And the thing he wants help with? Well, let's just say it blows her mind and has her immediately reaching out to the Premonition Pointe coven to see what can be done.

As for Jeremiah, he's sort of desperate when he contacts Carly. He's not thrilled to be doing it, but he's also not willing to walk away when she could help. Spending time with her reminds him of how good they could have been if life and that terrible thing hadn't come between them. As you might have guessed THINGS HAPPEN.

A morally reprehensible plot, a little danger and intrigue, a second chance at romance, and a group of women who have each others' backs. *thumbs up*

This is a terrific addition to this series, and probably my favorite - so far. The author delivers a story filled all the emotions, a bit of a mystery and suspense, as well as romance. There is a little something for everyone within these pages. Definitely worth reading.

I was so excited to find out that we get to continue to following Carly and Harlow’s story. The story did not disappoint. It was a page turner read, and to find out what happened in Carly’s past. I loved the addition of new characters (Zane and Liam) too and Jeremiah. I was happy to see the coven back together and help one of their own. I was enthralled in the mystery and discovering what “Enchantment” is, had me very intrigued. Great action, hysterical lines, and fighting scenes to keep the reader entertained.

I love getting lost in the world that the author creates. Carly and Jeremiah story is very interesting and there is a bit of history and mystery between the two.
After a Jeremiah drops a bombshell on Carly the Premonition Pointe coven is always happy to assist one of their own and trust me this one is a wild ride.
The story and the narrator together makes for a very addicting listen. The story was brought to life with Gabra Zackman narration skills.
If you enjoy paranormal women’s fiction with a sprinkle of romance then definitely check out this hilarious and entertaining series. It doesn’t disappoint.

Witching for Kismet concludes Deanna Chase’s Premonition Pointe series. At the end of the last book, Carly Preston learned that her childhood best friend Liam, who she thought died 30 years ago in the same boating accident that killed her twin sister, may still be alive. Jeremiah Vance, Liam’s brother, drops the bombshell and asks Carly for her help. Well, more specifically the Premonition Pointe Coven’s help. Jeremiah and Carly haven’t spoken since right after the accident that claimed their siblings’ lives. Carly was secretly in love with Jeremiah, but he broke her heart when he unfairly blamed her for the accident. Despite their fraught history, Carly agrees to help him because she can’t turn her back on Liam. When the man who told Jeremiah Liam is alive ends up shot in front of Carly’s house, they find themselves racing against time and an unknown enemy to learn the truth. But saving Liam may jeopardize the lives of everyone Carly loves and leave her in danger of falling prey to the same villain who stole Liam from them all those years ago.

I’m going to be honest. I’ve enjoyed the Premonition Pointe series overall, but Witching for Kismet didn’t really meet the standards that I’ve come to expect from Ms. Chase’s books. I still enjoyed how well she conveyed the strength of the friendships between the coven members. And I appreciated how she articulated Carly’s insecurities about trusting those friendships after spending years protecting herself from shallow Hollywood relationships. Ms. Chase does an excellent job demonstrating that, while Carly has been blessed with tremendous success in her life, the more personal parts of her life have been much more difficult and lonely. So the personal relationships among the women in this series remain a highlight of Witching for Kismet, but the specific plot line of this book didn’t capture my attention very well. The last couple of books in this series have involved some kind of extremely powerful super-villain type and forced the coven to battle that person. I enjoyed that plot line with Gigi’s story, but now that type of storyline seems a little tired and overused.

Additionally, the evil forces at work in this book don’t feel as well developed as in the past books. Ms. Chase never really explains why Liam was chosen by this organization. She includes details about other similar abductions at the same lake where Liam was taken but never addresses why that particular location was used. I just feel like the earlier books, particularly Witching for Clarity, had more developed explanations for the villains’ actions. And the romantic aspect of Witching for Kismet also seems very underdeveloped. When Jeremiah and Carly finally got together, it almost felt forced because their “romance” hadn’t really seemed to be that important to the storyline. I hate to write a less than glowing review for a Deanna Chase book, but I feel it’s important to write an honest review.

I don’t regret finishing this series though because I genuinely enjoy the characters that Ms. Chase has created for this series. And that’s why I’m very excited about how this book ends. While the series is ending, the Premonition Pointe world will live on in a new spin-off series featuring matchmaker Marion Matched. I’m looking forward to reading the new series and getting to keep up with the Premonition Pointe Coven. I received an ARC of this book from the author, but that didn’t influence my review.

Love It!

After reading a bunch of books with 20 something heroines it's always a pleasure to return to a paranormal women's fiction. Female protagonists of a certain age who still can kick ass and take names with a magical flair. Deanna Chase's Premonition Pointe series has been a special delight. Book 6 Witching For Kismet has been sitting on my To Be Read shelf for a while. It is one of those books that once you start you can't put down,,reading way into the early morning hours. Then when you read the very last word you cry out loud because you finished it so quickly. Luckily for me Deanna has lots of books on Kindle Unlimited I have yet to read so I could keep reading until her new book hits the shelves. That is if my to be read shelf wasn't already overflowing.
Any rate, Witching For Kismet, once again returns to the magical California beach community of Premonition Pointe. Deanna has done such a magnificent job of creating this town that I find myself driving the coastal highway searching for Premonition Pointe every time I am in California. Witching For Kismet main character is one of those old Hollywood sassy starlets you fall in love with from the very first page. And she is a witch with a magical herb studio full of beauty potions! Ah to be her best friend! There is plenty of second chance romance, mostly like the old Hollywood movies, with the curtains fluttering in the breeze as the scene fades to black. Yet, somehow it still leaves you with your heart pumping and skin tingling. Deanna pours that much steam into mere words it is amazing! But the real magic of Witching For Kismet is the plot. This novel is full of evil villains, dark magic and a mystery that goes back 30 years. It is the kind of edge of your seat suspense that keeps you reading way into the night.
Paranormal Women's Fiction is my new favorite genre. Deanna Chase is one of my favorite authors in this genre. Pick up Witching For Kismet and see why.

Witching for Kismet is jam packed with emotion from the first page, to the last. Even superstar actresses have unseen insecurities and emotional issues as we see with Carly and her family. Though Carly is a superstar, she isn’t some delicate flower. She’s not afraid to stand up for what’s right; and do what it takes to do what’s right. The story really rounds out the Premonition Pointe world in the sense that Carly’s niece who was featured in a previous book and is now a key secondary character. The final battle shows both Carly & Harlow’s true grit to fight with everything they have for their loved ones. We also see what happens with a witch who has bloomed late in life and tries to take on more than she can handle which adds a sense of realism, even in the face of fantasy. It’s really well done.

As sad as it makes me to see the end of the Premonition Pointe coven expansions, I will admit it makes sense for it to end with six women. This has been an amazing midlife series, and I’m sad to see it end. But happy to hear that Premonition Pointe will continue in a spin-off series regarding midlife dating. Now the coven can be established so that they can hopefully come in to save the day if the town still experiences villains trying to take it over. And let’s face it, a midlife match-making dating agency sounds intriguing, fun, and feisty. Needless to say, I’m looking forward to seeing what Chase comes up with next, and I hope she remembers to include plenty of funny moments too.

Loved it! Couldn't wait to start reading the new Deanna Chase book and once I started I couldn't stop!
Again another book that is worthy of more than 5 stars!
Book 6 of the Premonition Pointe series was so good. We find ourselves reading about Carly and something that happened in her past. We learn more about Carly and how she lost someone really special to her when she was young.
She teams up with an old friend to help solve what happened to them 30 years ago...it takes the whole gang to help out.
I'm not one to give away the story....you can read the synopsis to see what the book is about.
I'm reviewing that once you read a Deanna Chase book you fall in love with her writing and her characters. She truly is a master at paranormal women's fiction. When I read her books I find myself thinking about life's lessons that Deanna spins in each of her books. This one is how good friends will help no matter what the situation and there is true love out there for each an every one of us.
Can we talk about the gorgeous cover! I love her covers! Absolutely beautiful...
Thank you to Deanna Chase for allowing me to read a digital ARC for an honest review. This is my honest opinion of the book!

This was the last book in the series. As with the others, it was very good in terms of writing, characters, etc. However, I didn't care for it because in the middle of the book some of the characters were put into very frightening situations. It felt like it was written to shock the reader and that's not why I have been reading this series. I skipped to the last few chapters and enjoyed the resolution and the end. I didn't care for the "random" insertion of a character that lead to a "trailer" at the end of this book introducing a new series. Cheap marketing trick!

Amazon synopsis:
Carly Preston, a beloved Hollywood star, has lived her life in the spotlight. Most people believe her fifty years on earth has been charmed. She knows better. The tragedy that happened one night over thirty years ago, is never far from her thoughts, though she's learned to let go. But when she receives a message from the past along with a visit from the one person who never wanted to see her again, suddenly it appears that everything that Carly thought about that night is a lie. With the help of Premonition Pointe’s coven, Carly is determined to right a wrong, and maybe find a future she never knew she wanted.

Satisfying book!!

I love Deanna Chase's writing-- she constantly writes friendships that are goal-worthy and the Premonition Pointe Coven is no exception to the rule. However, it was refreshing to see movie star, Carlie who has had to guard her heart her entire life learn to trust these "Ride or Die" witches as she solves a mystery that has been plaguing her life for 30 years-- what happened on that fateful boat trip that claimed the life of her twin sister, her best friend Zane. Can Carlie put 30 years of hurt and betrayal aside, when Zane's brother Jeremiah comes to her door with a fantastical tale of a man coming forward with information that Zane has been alive all this time? Especially after that same man is shot outside of Carlie's house?

This book is a great story of a woman learning to trust her intuition and leaning into her power. It is a true antidote to sh*tty men and their sh*ttier behavior!! Get ready to cheer on Carlie and the Coven, Ms. Chase brings her A Game to this fantastic tale of great friendships and second chances.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The Premonitions Point stories are all excellent and this book is no exception! Carly is going to have to relive part of her past the find an old friend, Zane. Her ghostly sister tells her change is coming and what a change it is! From her past comes Zane’s brother, Jeremiah.
Not only does Jeremiah show up but a mystery man who you find goes by the name Liam. Liam is a friend of Zanes and you will find that he is a very interesting person. It seems that lots of people have disappeared over the years and some have a returned but Zane has been missing for more than a decade. With all the action going on you will meet some not so savory people! Two people will have issues from their past bother them but when the fight is over the good guys win! Love comes in many packages and it seems to work out well for all the people involved!
I really enjoyed the story and the means used to find people who went missing. I look forward to the growing of the coven and their powers due to the connection between them. Read and enjoy because it was a hard book to put down just to get some sleep.

I've read it in a few hours and I wasn't disappointed at all. As always, Deanna Chase created a story full of suspense and love. Because what's a witch without a handsome man she needs to save. Right?! 🤭 Regardless, Carly had 3 men to save by the end. So she's really a badass. I particularly liked the scenes with the pen. I personally would have gone for the letter opener. But I guess villains can't be also chic and have one at hand, when one is needed 😐. Besides being bad, apparently they don't have class either. So what's a girl to do if not improvise? 😁
Well, it all worked out in the end so I can't really complain 😅.
I really hope this is not the last story in the series. There's so much to learn. Like what happened to Iris's former secretary, Julie (I think) and the vision Iris had of her performing that spell on the bluff. Was it the cleansing spell or another that will land her in serious trouble? 😳 And what is Harlow's power? Will the younger girls join the coven or form another of their own? 🤔So many questions and possibilities...😑

Carly Preston has a hard time trusting people. She is slowly learning to trust that her coven sisters truly care about her and couldn't care less about her movie star status. Having Harlow with her after the kidnapping has allowed the two to become even closer. Carly still misses her twin, though, and a bizarre message from her ghost leaves Carly wondering just what is coming next. Little did she know her past just knocked on her door.

Jeremiah, her childhood best friend's brother, whom she hasn't seen in 30 years is asking for her help. He believes his brother Zane, her best friend, did not die in a boating accident 30 years ago that took the life of her twin. Things get even weirder when a man who has been following Jeremiah gets shot and hit by a car just outside her house that same night. As Jeremiah and Carly start putting pieces together, they realize Zane might actually have survived the accident and is still alive.

It is going to take all of them, including the coven, to find out what happened. Would they be able to bring Zane home?

Carly & Jerimiah

This might be the best Premonition Pointe yet!

She's a famous actress with lots of contacts and security guys. Yeah, with fame comes more. At this party, it came with someone she hadn't seen for years. They both suffered a tragedy and it separated them. Now she's getting strange messages that make her wonder what might have really happened.

There is so much going on and so much action telling more is gonna spoil it for some. The coven has come to her aid before and now the friendships and help are growing. Can their combined magic solve the mysteries?

The coven ladies are always available to help and do. Great characters old and new. The intrigue is strong with plenty of danger and questions. Old and new friends. A wonderful mystery and some romance to boot. I really enjoyed this one as with all but maybe this has a bit more of it all. Enjoy it new fans and old alike.

I have been reading this author for years, and even though I am not a fan of romance, this series is just so heart-warming. This latest in the series finally has Carly as the main character. We are taken back to the past where her twin sister and best friend are lost forever, well, maybe. Zane, her best friend, might still be alive, and his brother is back in her life to help him find out. While this was a mix of romance and suspense starring (heh) Jeremiah and Carly, we still feel the love the sisters of the coven have for each other, and I love that the best of all in this series. We should all have friends that have our backs, not stabbing our backs, and this series showcases that beautifully. Add to great writing, this was a lovely book. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Great author! One of my favorite series!

Carly’s heart broke forever the day of the boating accident when both her sister and her best friend died. It’s been 30 years when the brother of her lost best friend, who shunned her after the accident, shows up asking for her help, as he believes now that his brother has been alive all this time and is unable to come home.
Carly lost everything that long ago day: her sister, her best friend, and her best friend’s brother, the boy she was half in love with at the time. She has been able to contact her sister’s spirit, but never that of her best friend. If there is a chance he is really still alive, Carly will pursue any possible clue. Good thing her new friends include a very strong and compassionate coven. This is not the time to go it alone.

Deanna Chase has hit another one out of the park! I can't lie, Deanna is one of my favorite authors. But the reason for that is her excellent writing.

Carly's story is incredible. Not only does it have romance, family love, and the friendship's of the coven members, it also has action. There is a mystery to be solved and Carly is right in the middle of it. Carly and a man who wasn't exactly an ex, but who she had loved for years. Jeremiah's brother was also Carly's best friend and they both thought he died 30 years ago. Now they have reason to believe that he is still alive and have to try to find him and save him.

All parts of this book are incredible. Which isn't surprising. Deanna Chase not only writes witches and romance perfectly, she also writes action perfectly. If you've never read a book by this author, you're truly missing out.

To say Deanna Chase is a favourite author of mine is an understatement.
All of her books over the years have been absolutely amazing and each one for many different reasons.
Witching For Kismet hit all the feels and then some for me…
I went through anger, hurt, confusion, anger, fury, hope, love… lots of tears and in the end a huge smile, there were a few gasps for breath along the way as well…
Magic is magic it’s how a person wields that magic that shows who a person truly is down deep…
Carly Preston is amazing, wonderful, darling and kick-ass fierce.
I really love the maturity of the main couple it makes a difference when hurt feelings and time is in play.
Deanna could have taken this story a few different ways but I gotta say I love the road they traveled to find the future…

I found the romance in this book to be very weak, and the character development very shallow. We didn't learn that much about Jeremiah's personality before they ended hooking up. Most of the book ended up reading like a bad action movie plot rather than a romance, and it was a little bit unbelievable. The magic was used as a deus ex machine plot device rather than something that was naturally integrated into the world.

Other than those complaints, it was nice to get closure on all the romantic relationships of the women in the book, and it was fun to see a small mention of Keating Hollow. These books have been okay super light reads, but the new spin-off series Miss Matched Midlife Dating Agency sounds interesting, and I will continue to check it out.

Top notch close out!

So the last book of the series, and it did not disappoint! Storytelling is most definitely Deanna's talent in life. With each book in this series, I felt that she could not possibly top the one before, and in all cases I am so glad to say, I was wrong. Not only are the characters strong and capable, you find yourself liking them immediately. She interleaved relationships between everyone with practiced ease so that you literally find yourself longing for just this kind of friends. There is a lot of action, the story moves quickly and is never boring. I loved Carly's story and cheered as she reunited with her childhood bestie and rediscovered love. I wnt to move to Premonition Pointe!

Carly's wonderful story

Who says money can buy happiness? Carly has it all from the outside, a successful and award winning acting career, a niece that she adores (and vice-versa) money, and her friends but, she has had a rough go of it. She lost her sister and her best friend years before in a freak accident and her first love blamed her for the loss. Then, one night, out of the blue, HE shows back up again with a very intriguing story to tell, requesting her help with things. Can the two of them figure all of it out, make a couple of rescues and save lives as well?

This installment of the series was wonderful. Well written, fun, interesting and hopeful. I loved it and can not wait to read the next in series!

Wow. Deanna wrote a gripping story in this book 6. This is part of a series but can be listened to as a stand-alone. .
This story involves Carly .
Carly wants to solve what happened what happened thirty years ago , it’s still affecting her to this day. Carly teams up with an old friend that might help her. I love how Deanna wrote some other characters in this story also . You see the gang helping Carly since they consider her one of them. Carly Is looking for someone she has strong feelings for. She thought he passed 30 yrs ago .
Does Carly find out what happened to him . Grab it and find out , you’ll love it .

Gabra Zackman performance was outstanding. Love how she did all the action and the characters

Witching for Kismet

The conclusion of a series for most authors leaves you feeling hollow, Deanna Chase ended this with a flair and pizzazz rarely seen. This book has lots of angst and sparks of joy keeping the pages turning. The interaction of the coven has such an inclusive feel that it made me long for both a large extended family and a gang of besties. Warning: there are several triggers in this book, take a deep breath because Chase carries you to safety very quickly.
I am always amazed at the love and support found in every one of Deanna Chase’s books for both her real life and paranormal topics. Absolutely collection worthy.

Another great book, in a fantastic series! From the outside it looks like Carley has everything, but she has suffered great losses: A twin sister, best friend, and a boy she was half in love with. She is so surprised when that boy now a sexy man shows up at her door asking for her help! I really enjoy the wonderful characters of Premonition Pointe and love that they are all reoccurring through out the entire series. I know this was the last book of this series, but not the end of my visits to Premonition Pointe. I can't wait until the next installment.

I was looking forward to another of the coven’s stories and to find out more about Carly. While Witching for Kismet provided a look into Carly’s history and what happened to her twin and best friend it didn’t connect with me the way the others had. In Carly’s past appearances I didn’t take her for being one to jump back in without looking.

In previous books the magic was light and almost natural, while the magical portion of Carly’s story felt forced and just thrown together. It’s hard to describe.

While a good book, it’s not, in my opinion one of the better tales.
