“If you ever have to make a choice between me and another woman; Don’t ever choose me.” 🗣️HEARD!!!

Chyyyyy what a mess!! This was good! David…..smh….. I have no sympathy 🗣️AT ALL! Overall I enjoyed this read but you can tell it’s Octavia’s earlier work. A few things that left me baffled were the kids again. Since when does a 3 month old wave bye when you’re leaving a room and since when does a 10 month old play in the park while eating Doritos and drinking juice 🥴 the ages did not match these kids activities.

I would’ve loved to see Leah’s crazy side come out somehow in the book! I just knew she’d be the one to get revenge!

You reap what you sow is the moral of this story. 3.5✨

This is probably wrong to say but Lola can do no wrong in my eyes! She was the epitome of a good woman and David completely took her for granite. His cheating & conniving ways made his karma come back full circle. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, David should have read this statement. Great novella that I’m sure I’ll wake up days later thinking about. Recommend!

Choose Wisely

Damn! There should be not have been a choice to begin with. That Karma had some assistance. I honestly didn’t see that ending coming but you cannot hurt someone and tell them how to react.

Excellent Read!

"Hell has no fury like a woman scorned," is so true when it comes Lola. David truly messed up his family when he betrayed her for the woman who had his first child...A true depiction of a man thinking with the wrong head. This woman abandoned him and his baby at 3 weeks old but he still risked it all for her. Lola was a real one. She stepped in a gave his daughter a mother, siblings and a real home. She love her as if she was his own. She brought a light to David's life and bossed him up with love and a great family, but he threw it all away for Malaysia, a person that didn't give a damn about him or her daughter. She was the epitome of selfish. This book is a page turner and is well worth reading. Do yourself a favor and cop it!

Scorned

Ms Grant did the scorned woman like no other. Lola was superwoman - successful, perfect wife, amazing mother, loyal and selfless. Why all that wasn't enough is beyond me. She warned David, but did he hear her? What a price to pay.
I really enjoyed this book. It was definitely a page turner. Ms Grant might have taken literary license on some of the things the kids said/did at such young ages, though. Grab this read; it's well done, quick and to the point.

OUTSTANDING

Some of the typing and grammatical errors had me scratching my head thus resulting in the loss of a star. Besides that this story was phenomenally excellent. David was wrong and more importantly a fool. He said over and over that Malaysia was no good and only out for herself and he still found his way to her bed to his destruction. It was all self inflicted and very well deserved. Great story!

I was like look at Ms. Grant writing a sweet story, because the way they met was cute. Fast forward 13 years and David had ruined the love at first sight experience by cheating with the scum of the earth. I swear Ms. Grant writes the weakest men ever, they have no will power and are always weak AF about some p#$&y. Revenge is always served and David got just what he deserved.

I enjoyed this story, but the math was not mathing in some of these situations
..SPOILERS.. Makayla was 10 months old and had never had breast milk, but decided she was taking it from someone that wasn't her mother?? 10 month olds are fully talking sentences? but aren't drinking for a sippy cup? Then 10 years later the 3 month old is running back, he should be 10 so I'm sure peewee football is the most he could be doing. So, she definitely needed to align the story lines.

Despite all of this it's a quick read and Octavia is always a good time.

david brantley thought life was sweet. his ex-fiancée malaysia walked out on him and their newborn, but that ended up being a blessing because lola stepped in and built a whole life with him. thirteen years later, he had everything he needed .. until he let the bullshit back in.
david is a dumbass if i ever seen one. how do you go back to the woman that left you in the first place and actually convince yourself she loved you? no way you’re blinded by the coochie that bad.
lola stepped in and stepped up from day one, and he threw it all away. but she got her lick back, and i love that for her.

3.75. The epilogue was the best part! This short story had some grammar errors & typos. I’m not the grammar police so if I notice that’s pretty bad lol. I will say this was a nice pallet cleanser after I read a crappy book. Malaysia deserved what she got as well as David. Lo is a psycho but I mean what did we expect??? I should’ve known David was an opp after the first chapter but that’s what men do they rope you in and then leave ya high and dry LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO. Ngl I enjoyed this but I’m ready for a real romance so I can fantasize about finding real love lol

Another Queen of Novellas!!

Octavia Grant

This was goodt!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

She really knows how to get to the point and transition the story at the perfect moment. 66 pages of getting to the point with a little spice and thriller at the same time. Good job!

There was only a small part that had me like, huh...but that's because I'm in healthcare. Other than that, it was a really good...would recommend!

Play video games don't play me.

People, men I'm particular in this case. Are just plain stupid. Davis and Lola had a fairytale love affair most people dream of. The jobs, house, kids and bank account but David's gambling it all. Great read! Surprise ending.

Wow

The author did a great job with this. In my opinion it was well written. From the beginning I wanted to know what would happen next. The later parts of the books are unexpected.

I’ll admit. I wanted more for the story. I wanted it to be developed more. But that’s the point of a short story, definitely a good read.

I was soooo not expecting the ending. LOOOOOVED it. Goes to show you that you can't go around playing with ppl's hearts. David risked his marriage for junk. Bc that's what Malaysia was-junk.

Great read

Octavia never let me down. All of your books are great, I was surprised by the end of the book. I didn't think Lola had it in her, David and Malaysia got just what they deserve. Men doesn't see anything wrong with cheating until they are gasping for air.

Short but memorable

I trust this story will stay with me for some time. The characters were well written. The main characters went through a lot, and got consequences I didn’t see coming.

It’s A No For Me

There’s too much missing in this story and it literally went from bad to worse. And the ending was just plain silly.
