Gloriously Ordinary

Rate this book
What does it look like for individuals and churches to be good news and to share the good news of Jesus in contemporary Ireland? Written by gloriously ordinary people seeking to live out the kingdom of God in Ireland, this book weaves together stories and reflections from the grassroots, looks at the way Jesus ministered and invites you to consider your own context. When we look out over our beloved island, with all its beauty and brokenness, its diversity and dysfunction, how should faith communities respond?

While this book is focused on the context of ministry work in Ireland (and I began reading it because of an interest in future ministry work in Ireland), the general message is pretty universal. The contributors do a wonderful job of telling their stories and presenting the lessons they have learned about mission through those stories, and Garvey-Williams expands well on these lessons to paint a broader picture of what incarnational mission can, and should, be. Worth a read for Christians anywhere, as an invitation to consider what mission in their own context would look like.
