I have never written a review before but I felt like this book was a good place to start.

**Spoilers**

This is one of my favorite authors and it's hard to read a book from them that was just terrible. This was a good series but how the ending of this novella was written pretty much makes all the other books before it useless and pointless. Movies like this make me mad and this book was no exception. Here's hoping that her next book can be a redemption from this one.

I can’t even begin to explain how much this book SUCKED! The high ratings boggle my mind. Between the overwhelming amount of errors and the numerous ridiculously convoluted plot lines, this was a huge, hot mess!! It was a long trip to crazy town that made me wish I never read it.

I honestly don’t think anyone proofread this book. So many verb tenses were incorrect, not to mention sentences that just plain didn’t make any sense. An editor is listed at the beginning, but there are so many continuity errors.

Allison tells Bex that she passed the bar exam and which law firm she’s been working in. Then, when she shows up to see him, she’s dressed in scrubs. Scrubs! Is she a doctor or nurse all of a sudden? And why did it say she was wearing “scrub” instead of scrubs??

“The skin beneath his eyes were purple.” Yes, eyes is plural but skin is not. His skin WAS purple. Heck, you learn that stuff in second grade! There were countless errors like that. “Was a few” instead of “were a few”.

People would go outside just to go outside again a couple paragraphs later. Levi let Eden go, then let her go again. It was ridiculous!

At the end, it’s kind of like a flashback to book one. Nina is once again 18 while she was sitting on the bench waiting for the bus. Then she is suddenly 19 a few paragraphs later. Did the bus take that long to get there? She was waiting for a year? She tells her best friend she has a date with Jared Ryel and then is shocked when she finds out he’s the oldest son of her parents’ friends Gabe and Lillian Ryel. How many Ryels live in Providence, RI? 🙄 It’s RI, not NYC!

Some of the action scenes were good and I enjoyed the first couple of them. But then they kept getting progressively worse. Some things weren’t even explained or it would change from page to page.

This is supposed to be everyone’s happy ending? The epilogue was unbelievably infuriating to me. I don’t recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the Providence trilogy. It makes everything Nina and Jared went through to be together in those books completely and utterly pointless. The entire prophecy and purpose of the series no longer exists. Heck, even the purpose of these two novellas is negated with that epilogue!

This is a Providence novella, you need to read the trilogy and the other novella first. This novella picks up right where the previous novella left off. We have Eden, Levi, Jared, Nina, Bex, and Claire as POV narrators.

Good things:
* Ryan. he's still wonderful and underrated. Everyone still talks to him like he's a dumbass. He's more than any of them because he is human and survived EVERYTHING they went through without superpowers. Ryan for the win. He's a wonderful husband to Claire even if she doesn't seem to appreciate him as she should. He's the captain of the Providence Police Department.
* Levi. He's also a good hero and remained consistent from the previous book. Eden doesn't appreciate him as much as she should though.

BAD things:
* This book promises in the blurb to be "the end is all anyone could’ve hoped for." Really? The ending everyone could've hoped for is for Eden to go back in time so Nina has an accident and has to get a hysterectomy. She never has children thus making the prophecy and the whole point of the trilogy null and void. I'm so sad for Nina. She doesn't even know she is the mother of baby Eden in another life. In the current timeline, She never got to have children with Jared. I like a HEA where they have children. They didn't even adopt so that makes me so sad and I feel so bad for Nina.
* Petra has a demon attached to her. They call this a Tag. Ramiel says Eden can't kill the tag because it would disturb the balance and there would be consequences. Then she goes and kills the Tag and there are no consequences? Maybe I didn't get that part. It was confusing. I felt they talked in riddles sometimes.
* I felt we needed to be shown Levi and Eden's epic love story. I guess since their story was told in two novellas that wasn't possible. That's why I mentioned in my other review that this could've been a series spin-off, but with that ending, I'm actually relieved it was only novellas. I think this actually shouldn't have been written at all, or done differently.
* Jared is still not over Ryan and Nina. He seriously needed to let it go, not even when Eden changed things by going back in time this changed tf. "Dad watched Ryan with disdain." Jared, are you serious? This man has helped save all your lives and is your sister's husband...
* What happened to Claire and Ryan's baby? Seriously. Before Eden went back in time and changed things, Claire announced she was pregnant. When the timeline changed now Eden was Claire and Ryan's daughter since Nina couldn't have children. So what happened with their baby? It doesn't mention them having more than one kid and Eden graduated high school. I was already imagining them having a baby boy. Oh no, the author killed my dreams :( (and the baby apparently?) This was exactly why Ryan voted NO to the time-traveling stuff. He said he couldn't risk not meeting Claire and their baby :'(
* Who is Bex's Taleh now?
* Some editing issues in the book. When Petra (Levi's mom) is getting an exorcism her hands are tied and then they are magically untied so she can kiss her index finger and press it on Levi's lips. And then they are tied again?

A little summary of the whole book, full of spoilers:
Eden was killed in front of her family by Lucifer. She goes to Hell and is kept captive but since she sacrificed herself Hell can't keep her and she escapes. She's different now. Dying unleashed her full powers. She's now more powerful than Archangels. Levi goes to Hell to rescue her but she is already free and Eden ends up rescuing him instead. She was only gone for a couple of hours.

The family reunites. There are a lot of issues with the Balance and Lucifer going after them. Petra (Levi's mom) sacrifices herself to go to heaven in a plan by Ramiel, Eve, Cain, and Abel. They end up disturbing the balance with their shenanigans. God is not happy. Turns out the punishment is that Levi has to go to Hell and Bex must follow as Levi is his Taleh. The Ryels are horrified. Bex is engaged to Allison now and doesn't want to leave her but he must do his duty. Eli appeared before to tell them the news and also told them the solution that Eden could change things. They figure out what this means. With her full power, she can actually travel back in time to fix things so the balance is restored.

The Ryels vote YES or NO to time travel. The family is divided so it's up to Eden. She voted YES and changed things. We go back to the first book but now everything changed. Jack is alive and remains so, meaning Gabe is also alive (Jack is his Taleh.) Jared still reveals himself to Nina but they are attacked by mercenaries when sharing the cab ride. Nina almost dies and to save her doctors have to remove her spleen and uterus (Hysterectomy.) She can't have children now so the prophecy can't come to pass. Jack gives his blessing to Jared and Nina. Jack and Gabe return the book to Shax. Since there's no point to them having stolen it now. Jared and Nina fall in love. Claire and Ryan meet at the hospital, in the waiting room. Fast forward to "the present" we are at Eden's graduation. She tells us how Claire who was his aunt is now her mother, and Ryan who was her uncle is now her father. Jared and Nina who were her parents are now her aunt and uncle. Nina loves her like a daughter so Eden fulfilled her promise of not leaving her side, just not as her daughter. Kim is alive since Nina didn't give birth, the whole trip to Jerusalem never happened. Allison and Bex are married and she's pregnant. Jack and Cynthia (who turned out to be Lilith), and Gabe and Lillian are all alive. Beth and Chad are also together. Basically, all the couples remained the same and all alive, except Jared and Nina don't have baby Eden as their daughter or any children at all. We never got to meet Ryan and Claire's baby (Claire was pregnant before Eden changed things.)

Eden still met Morgan in High School. They are friends and he's going to a University in another state. The final scene shows Levi arriving on a motorcycle. Eden has all her memories and tracked down Levi on the internet. They are reunited again, this time forever. The End.

Omg!!!!

Ok. So let’s not beat around the bush here. I have been patiently (ok. Not really but we can pretend) for the final chapter of the Ryle family. Then it was here and I realized that no matter how long i waited for it. I. Wasn’t. Ready. I have spent around 9 years with my beloved Ryles. I have read their story more times then I could count. And I have even been to their home to live their story there(Providence, RI of course). So knowing that this was the last time I would read a story about them for the first time was bitter sweet.

Now on to the book. Let’s face it. I was hooked in before opening my kindle app and diving in. Then I read page 1. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I didn’t know what was going to happen next and couldn’t wait to find out. But let me tell you. Nothing got me like that ending. I did not know how it was going to play out. I was anxious. I was excited. I was happy. I was on the brink of tears.

This is a must read. So I am not sure why you are still reading my review and not Sins of the Immortal. Jamie McGuire is a far better writer then I am. So go forth and enjoy the world of Providence (for the last time 😭😭😭)

I definitely liked the series but I loved this one the most. Sins Of The Immortal was the fifth and final book in Jamie’s Providence series. They MUST be read in order. It was an action packed, heart wrenching, wild ride!

After watching Eden being taken from them, the Ryel family was not sure they could survive. What they were unaware of was that she wasn’t gone, she just had to find her way back home. Once she was free, it was not the heartwarming reunion she wished for. Danger was lurking behind every corner. Could her purpose truly save them all?

There was so much going on but I loved every second. Jamie’s descriptions made me feel like I was right there with them. I was afraid my heart was going to be broken but it truly had the best possible ending!

5Stars❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The providence series is one of my top favorite books by Jamie McGuire. I remember my feelings the first time I read it , I was blown away . I loved it sooooo much . Jared and Nina has a special place in my heart , I loved their relationship sooo much , and not just them but also their relationship with all the other characters . Reading sins of the immortal brought those feelings back . I couldn’t believe I was reading about them again but that plot twist shocks me . I can’t believe they all started it from the beginning . Yes we kept Jack , Gabriel , Kim ( who died in the original lifetime ) but Eden is not Nina and Jared’s daughter anymore and I am not happy about it and those last twenty years were for nothing 😭😭😭😭😭

Sad but happy,

I love Nina and Jared I'm happy everyone has a happy ending just not happy Nina didn't get Eden back as her daughter and that she didn't remember her as her own and fought so hard for her breaks my heart and I really wanted Ryen and Claire to have they baby but not at Nina expense.

I know it has angels in it so there’s always going to be some religion, but this seemed heavier on the religious aspects than any of the others in the series.
There is a lot of action, and I wasn’t always sure why it was happening, but it did happen. Something to do with balance and rules and reincarnated souls and choices. It’s a bit rushed in parts, but just right in others.
I never really felt the connection between Eden and Levi though because we’re not shown it. We’re only told it exists. And I think we needed it rather than some throw away comments here and there about previous lives.
There’s a slew of new characters introduced for this final book, most tied up with the religion bits. Not entirely sure why, but they’re there.
I just really didn’t connect with these two later novellas, but this one especially.

What an ending!!

I bought and read the ebooks of Providence, Requiem and Eden in June 2012. I've read them many times over the years. I didn't know about the novellas until recently. Twists I never saw coming. I love what Jamie gave us. I even met Jamie in 2014 in DC and got my paperbacks signed.
Eden turned everything upside down and inside out and I literally could not put this one down until I was done. Levi is a great character and made Eden complete.
I love how all the what ifs I questioned from the trilogy got answered by this book.
I wish I could give it more stars.

From the first chapter, I was completely captivated. The world is haunting and atmospheric, full of gods, monsters, and impossible choices. What really stood out, though, was the emotional depth. Eden and Levi’s bond felt raw and real, even as the prophecy threatened to destroy them. This is dark fantasy at its finest.

Spectacular end to a series! Maybe I’m a sucker for a happy ending, but I adore these fictional characters, and I was hoping all would end well. Beautifully delivered. Definitely a series I would recommend.

A mind blowing ending!!! I cried so much while reading this book. Every character has their own POV in this book.

Picking up where the last book ended, Eden was killed in front of her family and Levi by Lucifer himself. With everyone still in shock because of her death, Levi, decides to approach his father and demand for Eden's return. But he's half mortal now, if he dies, so will his Taleh, Bex.

When Eden wakes up, she's in the basement of Hell, being hidden from everyone by Lucifer. She manages to get out, but she feels different. She's been made an immortal now. When she finally comes back home, she was only dead for 12 hours. But now she needs to grab Levi before he dies at the hands of his brothers.

Now that fate has protected Eden, they want Levi back in exchange. Which means that Bex has to follow him as well. Eden is the only one who can change history once and for all. But the men are afraid that they won't meet like they did before if she changes fates course. The woman want Eden to change history to get peace, they know that they will find their soul mates.

A must read!!

So sorry to say goodbye.

I am so very sad that the series is over. I have thoroughly enjoyed every line in this series. I didn’t expect to. I don’t read fantasy but as I’ve said before, I’ll read whatever Jamie McGuire writes.

I loved all of the characters. Each and every one. I don’t even know that I have a favorite. If I had to choose, it would be Eden. What a character!! We watch her grow and evolve. And not just in one life but more than one. Anyone that thinks about it can understand that if you change one small thing about your life, you’ll change everything from that point on. You’ll never know what a different choice would change or how big the impact would be. This series is mostly about that. That and the fact that you’ve already planned out you life before you get here to earth. You already know what lessons you want to learn and experience to grow and evolve. But once your here, it’s doesn’t feel at all like you have a choice. Sometimes life feels so out of your control. Sometimes you you think that you’d like to go back and change just one small thing, but do you really?!?

Fabulous series. Sorry to see it end. Highly highly recommend.

I have been waiting for more Ryels and let me just say it was worth it!! We got different POV from characters which wasn’t expected and a nice surprise. We got inside their heads and learned so much more! I’ve always been a fan of Jared and he makes me swoon. I have to say Levi had a lot of swoonworthy moments with fighting and supporting his girl, Eden. So many questions were answered and I was living for it all! The story had me captivated and it left me with so many feels! There were some surprises that had me “Say what?!” It was utterly perfect, more, and a nice wrap up to the series. I definitely had a hug the book feel at the end! Well done, Jamie! Thank you for giving us these characters, keeping us on our toes, shocking us with that McGuire magic, and for all things Providence!! The bench and sweet potato fries will always be a happy place.

Wow! What a journey Jamie McGuire takes us on! I can’t believe this is the last time I’ll ever read about the Ryel’s! (Apart from re-reads of course ;) The final installment, Sins of the Immortal, was packed with action and roller coasters I never saw coming! The ending was definitely the highlight of this book! The only con I have is mentioning of biblical characters and scenarios added to the plot. It’s obviously very inaccurate and kind of off putting. I fully understand what the nature of this series is, it was just one small thing that I wasn’t a fan of. But otherwise, this book was amazing! I definitely recommend it, and recommend reading the entire Providence series from beginning to end! Jamie McGuire will always be my favorite, and I’ll read anything she writes!

Amazing way to end a series!

There are no words to describe how I feel other than HOLY COW! Seeing this series wrap up is so hard because I like many others have fallen in love with all the Ryels and their whole family and story line but I believe the way this series was wrapped up was so ingeniously creative! I’m blown away again by Jamie and her writing. My mind is completely blown and I’m so grateful to have found an author who can continue to give me such wonderful stories to fall into and get taken to a whole new world! ❤️😱😱😇😈🤯🤯

it kinda feels like forever until we got this book but all the waiting was so, so worth it!I haven't seen the ending coming like at all. The Providence series were my first paranormal romance books and they will always have a special place in my heart. For me it was the perfect way to end a very beloved series.

I was so happy with the way this was put together, it didn't feel rushed and just randomly put together, it did the characters justice.

I was shocked by the little twist at the end but I'm glad they all got their happily ever after.

Sins

I think I’m more upset about the ending then I should be. Long time waiting and good to see everyone again but the ending kind of made me think everything we’ve previously read happened for nothing. I’m glad everyone got their happy ending and it was the best possible outcome I suppose but still feel bad for Nina.
