Rate this book
She came asking for blood, but love quenched her thirst.

Idunn, the shield maiden- craved only gold and glory. She was certain that the Highlands would fall easily. After all, the Scots were no match for Vikings.

When the Vikings lose the battle, however, retreating is not an option. Idunn is determined to fight to the death. But the Scots are not so kind and will not pave her way to Valhalla. They have chosen a different fate for her, that of a slave.

Gavin Comyn, heir to the Lairdship, came to crush the Vikings, not to take prisoners. Yet he enslaves Idunn to learn the secrets of her kin. But his captive has already slain him with her eyes.

Though everyone tells him to kill Idunn, he will try to tame her, and a woman made for the battlefield will discover that surrendering can lead to the most thrilling pleasure.

Soon, Idunn’s intended returns with his men to seek revenge on the Highlanders, and she will have to choose sides.

When the battle calls her, to whom will she answer? How will she know who is her savior and who is her foe?

This book is phenomenal! Another fantastic story by Fiona, this one is full of fighting, love, danger and betrayal and is a definite must read! Gavin and Idunn meet on the shores of Banff when her Viking clan attacks Gavin’s Scottish one. The Scottish will be the victors but he will see the type of warrior she is and he will do everything he can to save her life. Kept as a slave, she struggles to adapt to her new life but the more time passes, the closer she and Gavin get. He will try to free her in order to court her but his father will not agree. A day at the river will end in danger for Idunn as Gavin’s half brother Tadhg, the older brother but not able to be the heir, will try to harm her. He is jealous of all that Gavin has and is determined to make Gavin feel the injustice that Tadhg always has. Tadhg will conspire with Idunn’s betrothed, Einarr, in order to get his revenge. When the Vikings attack again, it is Idunn that will warn Gavin and she will be the one to discover Tadhg’s betrayal. In the end, the Scotts will win the day, Einarr will pay for leaving Idunn behind on the shore and Tadhg will pay for his betrayal. This will give Gavin and Idunn the chance to move forward to their happily ever after.

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

This is the first book I’ve read by author, Fiona Faris. It was a great read! I love stories about strong women and this one doesn’t disappoint. As the story begins we meet Idunn, a Viking warrior, trained for war and holds her own with the men! She and a band of male warriors are on a raid of Scotland. It’s there they meet and fight with a Scottish clan that has been preparing for a battle with the raiders. While fighting, Gavin, the laird’s son, sees a female warrior holding her own on the battlefield, however, the Vikings are outnumbered and things don’t go well for them. During the battle, Idunn is injured and cannot escape. Because of Gavin’s interest and intrigue in Idunn, she is not killed. He hopes to gain needed information from her. Once her leg heals, Idunn is reduced to the duties of a slave and is given the worst chores to make her cooperate. She refuses to give any information and Gavin is not about to give up. Can Gavin get Idunn to talk? Can Idunn stay stoic and isolated? As this new battle of wills ensues, can they trust and confide in each other? They are enemies, so what happens when they both realize their attraction for each other? This is their story. Enjoy!

Gripping and Suspenseful! Vikings were raised to go raiding and destroy their enemy's villages, but as Idunn, a fearless shield maiden, soon realizes this battle with the Scots will end badly for her in Highlander's Viking Sedustress. Taken prisoner and made a slave Idunn has one goal...escape. Gavin captivated by Idunn at first glance during the battle between Clan Comyn and the Vikings can't denigh the pull the slave girl Idunn has on him. Idunn and Gavin came alive for me as I pictured them falling in love and fighting for that love. Fiona Faris has written a wonderful tale that hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration. Her characters never fail to delight; they are likeable (and not so likable), engaging individuals with real flaws who seem very realistic. As Idunn and Gavin's story unfolds with all the drama, danger, sizzling passion, deceit, and as the suspense escalates the desires builds and treachery abounds that will keep you reading to the end and wishing for more!  The Extended Epilogue leaves you anticipating the next in the series about Kenna!

This story is very different from Fiona’s usual books but I loved it! Intwined with Norse and Scottish lore makes the book very interesting. The story is about about Idunn the Viking warrior and Gavin, the heir to the Laird ship of the Clan of Comyn. Idunn is betrothed to Einarr, next in line to be the Jarl, the leader of her village. As they prepare to go in the raid to Scotland Idunn has several things which happen that are bad omens. She discounts them and they set off to Scotland. Kenna, Gavin’s sister spots the Viking ships and they are able to alert Castle Banff Castle and the village of the impending battle. In the end the Scottish win the battle but Idunn is left for dead on the beach. She is captured and made a slave. Over time she and Gavin form a friendship which turns into love. Unknown to them, Tadhg, Gavin’s older brother sends a letter to Einarr telling him Idunn is alive and he wants Gavin dead and for them to come get Idunn. Will she fight for Gavin and their love or will she return with the Vikings?

I'm a little speechless this was so good.
First off I loved the cover picture. I could imagined Idunn as I read this very exciting story.
Viking versus Scots, battles, heated romance set them on fire, betrayals, passion, terror,
and so very much more.
Check out the scene in the basement. That will make your toes curl.
I had one big "Holy Cow" moment and a few surprises.
I enjoyed our hero Gavin very much. Sounded yummy.
Read the other reviews for I am not describing this epic story very well other than to say it is one not to miss.

I just finished reading this amazing story by Fiona Faris. It was filled with suspense, danger, intrigue and betrayal. The main characters were well suited to each other. The secondary characters were well described and believable. The Viking warriors were raiding the Scottish clans to restore their supplies. During these raids many lives were lost and some prisoners were taken to work as slaves. That is what befell Idunn, she became a slave in Gavin’s clan.

I love the blending of the Scots and the Viking

To be honest, it took awhile to get used to the terms and the grammar in some areas but at the same time, those were my favorite because I felt like those gave it a more authentic feel to the entire story. It was bloody and it was action-packed, just like the other stories by Ms. Fiona but kudos to her on this one. The two distinct cultures were totally interesting to see clash and at the same time blend.

Iron Sharpens Iron

This enemies to lovers story had a twist because the main characters were from different cultures. Idunn was a fierce, beautiful, female Viking warrior. Gavin was a fierce, handsome, Scottish warrior. When they faced one another on the battle field, there was instant attraction. She fought harder because she was captured and enslaved. The battles were captivating and the romance was sweet.

Highlander's Viking Seductress was a great bock. I loves reading about the Vikings and the Highlander's. A time when the Viking's invaded Scotland. Seeing I was born in Scotland, it is always nice to read something about our History. It is indeed a fact that we did have Viking Invaders many centuries ago.

This story has lots of adventure and interest. Idunn and Gavin are the most unlikely of future partners, one being a Viking and one being a Scot. Loyalties are tested and friendships strained during this lengthy tale of love and passion on the Scottish coast.
