What Cat Lost

Rate this book
Cathleen Rhodes was on top of the world, the ideal daughter, the honor student, the Ivy League shoo-in, and a rising senior in the most elite social circle at The Spence School. Perfection. One night changed her life forever. Landon is dead and Cat finds herself in an exile even she couldn't fathom. What Cat Lost follows Cat from her life as a fashion-forward prep school princess to the mountains of North Carolina where her parents send her to live and work on her grandmother's farm. It is here that Cat meets Luke, a strikingly handsome farm boy that irritates Cat to no end. Yet somehow, this intriguing young man is able to teach Cat some truths that she didn't learn on the Upper East Side. He teaches her how to forgive herself, how to trust again, and ultimately how to love.

this was heavier than what I thought,
it was good but I don’t think the author knew how to write teenage dialogue.
The only thing she knew about teen girls is that most like fashion and hate their parents.
The main character gave me “not like other girls energy”
Also the mc throwing up every few pages got to be disgusting

I mean...I'm kinda biased...but I think it's wonderful. I also just wanted to be the first person to post a review! :) If you're a fan of YA literature then this is the book for YOU! It has all the highs and lows of young love...and keeps you engaged from start to finish!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading What Cat Lost. Chelsea Wilson Thayer does a wonderful job in capturing the magic and wonder of first love in this coming of age novel. She takes us on a journey of self-discovery as we follow Cat from her comfortable life in New York to the beautiful mountains of North Carolina, and into the unknown. Sometimes the most difficult things are what make us stronger and help us to grow and Thayer does a wonderful job in showing us this. I can't wait to see what will happen next!

I have been looking forward to reading “What Cat Lost” for a long time, and it did not disappoint! The storyline was intriguing and once I started reading, I could not put the book down. I had the book completely finished in less than twenty four hours. It was easy to become emotionally invested with Cat and Luke and feel a personal connection to their love story. I definitely recommend this book!

I LOVED this book so much!!

My family visits the mountains each year and I found this book in a local book shop, and fell in love! I couldn’t put it down, and finished it within a few days.

I loved the shared points of views throughout, as well as the character development for Cat and Luke. Their love story made my 22 year old heart feel all the things, and I highly recommend this book!!

I loved this book! Beautifully written with heartfelt emotion. Although technically this book is a Young Adult book— and technically I am not a Young Adult 😘—I was able to identify with all of the characters and I fell in love with Cat, Luke, and Landon. I laughed and I cried and I got lost in the wonderful and rich descriptions throughout the book. It is difficult to believe this is Chelsea Wilson Thayer’s debut novel. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!
