I don’t live in the shadows anymore.
Daphne has dragged me into her light.
At first, it was bright, and I didn’t know how to live in it.
I’m… adjusting.
Life for the most part is better than I ever dreamed.
But not better for her dreams.

Especially when dreams tread the line of reality.
When she tells me the truth, it sends me into a quiet place.
A place where I plan, a place where I figure out who her father really is and what he did.
A place where I hone in on my target.
He is the reason for her mind to be lost.
And when she gets lost, I always find her and bring her back to me.
That is until she leaves because life loves to shred my soul.

She’s Gone.
And now I’m the one lost. I’m in the shadows and for the first time, I don’t want to be here.
I need my comet’s light.
Only to find her…
And she doesn’t remember us.
Or me.
I’m a stranger.

How can I make her fall in love with me all over again?
She’s my wish upon a star.
And I’ll kill her father for taking my wish.
I can’t tell anyone.
Or my wish won’t come true.
And I wish for her love again.

I was a little scared going in; I Love Tongue, he is a Brutal killer with a soft side. Daphne brings him into the light. We see a naive, innocent, and loving man who tries to understand. He is a black and white thinker, who is just tapping to see the Gray, only he doesn’t see it. I wasn’t sure how the book would turn; I should have known to trust the process.

Tension still surrounds Tongue with Sarah and Reaper. He becomes closer to another King. We learn more about Daphne’s back story. One big shocker. And one I have to say, I did see coming.

Daphne goes missing, and Tongue is entirely unhinged. When he finds her, she doesn’t remember anything about Tongue or her time in Vegas. She does feel something for him.

Tongue handles her memory loss with great ease. He is patent and loving. He still lurks in the shadows and keeps an eye on her. I am in total awe for the incredible strength he went through while trying to get her to remember if you didn’t love Tongue before, you will by the time you are done reading this book.

Let’s talk about that CLIFFHANGER!!!!! I was seriously on edge and wanted to scream; what an ending. Is it August 24th? I can’t wait to see what happens next. Ruthless Kings is one of my favorite MC series.

I do love Tongue book. His past is very traumatic. However, Tongue's Target is very confusing. The time frame that is jumping around without much explanation gets me so confuse.

I do not like Daphne either. She is a selfish damsel in distress heroine. She only focus on her own sexual appetite, making decision that is only for her benefit and expecting Tongue to follow her.
And the book is ends with cliffhanger.

Overall, a pity. Such a waste.

I finished this book almost a full month ago, and I still have no idea how to write this review. KL is brutally savage with this one y'all -- to the point where I was cursing both of their names and pleading for even more. I swear, this is the best series to ever be written!

This book is a continuation of Tongue & Daphne and their unique, spellbinding, powerful love. These two are stronger than ever, even with all the outside -- and inside -- threats to them both.

Daphne is having dreams that makes her question her childhood and the death of her mother, and in this we see how her psychosis began, and how it's so intense now. Tongue is still having thoughts that there's no way Daphne can truly be happy with a monster like him, but what he hasn't considered is that his monster is different than the others who want to harm her -- he loves to the point of madness, but that means he'll also burn down the entire world of someone dares to harm his comet. I'm trying so hard not to spoil anything, but even when everything is up in the air, the pure connection these two have is out of this world!

Watching Daphne teach Tongue to write, and see his passion for drawing come back to him was absolutely everything. My god I love these two. Also seeing Tongue really connect with more people? Especially Slingshot? Oh my poor bro-taco heart. I definitely cried all the happy tears!

That bloody cliffhanger damn near broke me. I vented so much to Donna, and now writing this review, I want to vent even more!! Gosh, is it August yet?! Or is there a way I can bribe them to write this sooner?!😂😂

I've said it with each addition to this world, but I am so freaking OBSESSED!!!! This is hands down my favorite series, ever!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

**************************************

IT CAN'T END LIKE THAT. NO. NO NO. I do not accept this.😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

KL Savage does it again! I absolutely ADORE Tongue. He’s such an intriguing and lovable character. He’s hilarious in how he takes everything so literally, and I’m obsessed with the way that his brain works.
This book has a great suspense plotline, but one thing I love about it is that we get a chance to dig much deeper into Tongue and Daphne and their backstories and their relationship. This book gives us a lot more history for Daphne, and I was excited to have the chance to find out more. We also get to explore Tongue’s relationship with the rest of the MC. We know that he’s felt isolated from the rest for some time, and this book takes a deeper look into that.
All in all, this was a fabulous book, even if it does end on a major cliffhanger! (I wasn’t expecting that. That hasn’t happened before in this series!)

I waited so long before reading this knowing it will be a cliffy and the continuation is coming pretty late BUT after reading all the books after this one i felt like i needed to know more and more what happened in this one, to connect some dots.
Now that i read it i'm happy even tho i have to wait for the continuation.
I love tongue and i like Daphne, i love how she is protecting him too, i love how they love each others.
I didn't give the last star only because i'm tired of Tongue suffering, i truly disliked the other bikers behavior when it comes to him, i'm not talking only about this book but in general, i feel like he deserves more! truly, i hate a lot of things Reaper did. I think Reaper punishments for his brothers it's to extreme especially because are mostly for futile reasons. I hate that he don't considerate each case better, like in this case, how could you want that for tongue, come on, i feel like every brother that got the freaking burned scar didn't deserve it. ANYWAY i can't wait for the continuation and also i can't wait to read about the NOLA chapter! and the Asylum!

I cant do this review without giving away so much. So all Im going to say is:

We get to see Tongue and Daphne again and I have to say out of all the characters in this series he is my favorite (I know I know he is totally messed up, but they make the best hero’s) And since his previous book Tongue is totally devoted to Daphne, his Comet. But from the previous book you thought it would be smooth sailing for these two, but Fate has other things in store. And Daphne although she is happy with Tongue it seems like her past is catching up to her and memories she didn’t even know about seems to be making their appearance.

Which frustrates Tongue because he feels like he cant take care of his Comet ☹

This book was an emotional wreck. Both these character were already broken and them being together sort of helped each other, but in order for them to sort of get to a happier version of themselves they need to get through the heartache and the pain. My heart was really hurting reading this one and I was on the edge, not knowing what was going to happen.

Since I started reading this series, I fell in love with this author’s work and it just gets better and better and more messed up, but I love it 😊 ♥ I cant even imagine what is next with this author, but I cant freaking wait 😊

It has taken me a bit to actually sit down and write the words for this review. Tongue’s Target is one of those books that will haunt you forever. It is dark. It is twisted. And more than anything, it is so heartbreaking. My heart aches so freaking much for Tongue and everything he is fighting for to save his Comet. The journey you are taken on with Daphne and Tongue is something so unique and spell binding that you cannot help but devour this book. I was lost into this world, I had more questions than answers. I was left wanting and needing more. To say you run an emotional gambit is putting it very mildly. I can only imagine everything that is running through Tongue while he tries to get Daphne to remember.
The one thing that I found with this story is how much you feel. Having read this world from start to now, you are so involved and in depth with them and seeing such insanity and heartache really hurts my soul. Savage has such a brilliant way to weave a story that leaves your mind spinning. I need more. I need answers. My heart is hurting. If you have been reading this series, you do not want to miss out on this one. It is just everything and more.

I'm in the minority again. Think this is my least favorite book in this series so far. I'm not a person who enjoys more thoughts in a book than action. I love a good hot sexy read but I felt this one was a lot of filler to pack the book. Also the cliffhanger was right in the middle of the best action so far and it looks like the next book doesn't have much of any to do with this one but the one after that is the connected book. Almost makes me want to skip the next book and go for the next book of Tongue and Daphne's story just to get it out of the way. Good thing the rest of the series is now available 😊

Just when I thought Reaper was starting to redeem himself, here we freakin' go again. Who let this asshole be in charge, running around, doling out punishments for things not even half as bad as the shit he's done. Walkin around like he wouldn't do 10x more damage if Sarah were the one in danger. IM OVER IT. Tongue, Daphne, and the swamp kitties deserve some goddamn peace for once.

Wow! This book was a lot more than your typical MC story. These characters have layers and backstory that build throughout the series making them complex and interesting to read.
Tongue and Daphne have a unique and almost codependent relationship but there’s just something about them that works. This book may be a little dark for some readers but if you have read and enjoyed the other books in the series then you will know what you’re getting into, and it is worth the ride.
I received an ALC of this book.

I have to say that K.L. has done it again! She has written a story that captures you right from the start. I loved how Daphne and Tongue acted toward each other. They shared a love like no other. I don't want to spoil this for the reader but there is so much going on that this is a must read story and series.

Another amazing book by KL savage. I couldn't put book down once started.

We get to see Tongue and Daphne again. We find out more about them but also things go crazy as per usual. Daphne is much stronger than we believe.

I can't wait for more.

This book was amazing. I couldn't put it down.

I love Tongue and Daphne and I am so happy we get an even more in depth look into their lives.
Tongue's Target is unpredictable and kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to find out what happens.

I cannot wait to see what happens next.

I voluntarily read and reviewed Tongue's Target for Sweet Treats Book Blog.

Thank you K.L. Savage for writing such an amazing story and an even better series!!!

Two things you should probably know about this review...

1.) MC isn't a genre I usually gravitate towards. At all. The few I've times I've attempted to jump in that particular pool have been...well, eh, and not something that drew me in as a reader.

2.) Tongue's Target is book ten in the Ruthless Kings MC series set in Vegas. So, you jump right in the midst of his and Daphne's story, and I haven't read any other book in the series.

When I had the chance to listen to the audiobook, I figured I'd dip my toes in the pool.

BUT...let's have real talk time about the fact that the narrators are enticing as a Dream Team, downright amazingly talented, and I'd pretty much listen to Joe Arden read a Pokémon card stack to me. In truth, when my precious kiddos are doing so, this might be occurring in my head.

And can we take a moment to appreciate the hot, #girlnarratorcrush moment of Maxine Mitchell??? You almost don't need another narrator because she is not only emotionally stunning, but she made me believe she is a different person numerous times, if not a vulnerable, sexy, possessive man amongst other swoon worthy members of the opposite sex. (Dear Maxine Mitchell, you and Joe Arden now are alternating the top spot for Pokémon reading in my head.)

With both of these voices? The narration is simply scorching hot, as in burning down your soul, heart, all the while lighting it all fire.

None of which would be at all possible without the words of K.L. Savage, who pretty much has turned me into a Ruthless Kings seeker. Even with this being the 10th book in the series, I never ft lost or missing out on critical parts of Daphne and Tongue's story. If anything, I now NEED to read the entire series leading up to this chapter of their story as well as the rest of the series.

Touching, vulnerable, with a dark beauty, this part of Daphne and Tongue's story is memorable, heartwrenching, and encompassing in a way that makes you want even more. All of it.

I'm on pins and needles waiting for the next book in the series!!!

TONGUE’S TARGET by KL Savage is the tenth instalment in the contemporary, adult RUTHLESS KING MC: LAS VEGAS erotic, MC, romance series focusing on the men and women of the Ruthless Kings MC, Las Vegas chapter. This is the continuing story of Ruthless Kings enforcer Wayne ‘Tongue’ Hendrix, and twenty-five year old, book store owner Daphne Lace. TONGUE’S TARGET should not be read as a stand alone as much of the premise and story line begins in book eight TONGUE.

WARNING: Due to the graphic nature of the story line premise including violence, abuse and mental illness, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Daphne and Tongue) TONGUE’S TARGET follows in the wake of Tongue’s ongoing issues with the demons from his past, and Daphne’s inability to remain in the present. As both our characters suffer with a long list of emotional and physical trauma including PTSD, Daphne’s mind continues to fracture including the inability to discern the real from imagined, and Tongue’s struggle to protect our heroine pushes Tongue over the edge but the past is hunting our story line heroine pulling Tongue and his brothers into a fight they soon won’t forget.

TONGUE’ TARGET is a raw, haunting, emotional and startling story of guilt and grief; a twisted and tragic story of abuse and violence, of secrets and lies, of blood shed, murder, punishment and debt. TONGUE’S TARGET ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

(audiobook) Well, that was intense. I think I started breathing again a few minutes after the end. I’m not used to that kind of dark, and it was emotionally tough. But it was also incredibly beautiful.

Two utterly broken characters, both with a dark traumatic past that left multiple scars, try to build a relationship that will heal their wounds. They somehow make it work, and it was fascinating to see each step they take towards recovery–and the several sets back they suffer. Is it a healthy relationship though? It depends what you mean by that. Because the extreme experiences they share in intimacy may not qualify. Yet the authors write them as acts of passion and devotion.

I’m usually disappointed with MC romances, but not this time. The dynamics inside the club, the rules and roles, were clear and well defined, and instead of a romantic suspense plot, I enjoyed a more personal–though still dark–story. Exactly what I’d been looking for and couldn’t find until now.

As for the narration, both narrators are experts in conveying dysfunctional couples and deep emotional journeys, especially together, so they were perfect for this book.

A tough, heart-wrenching, gut-clenching, story that you’ll enjoy, if you have the stomach for. But definitely not for everyone.

Quickie

- Series: Ruthless Kings MC Las Vegas chapter #11 (ends on a cliffhanger, and Daphne and Tongue’s story starts in Tongue)
- Hashtags: #MC romance #dark romance #broken characters
- Triggers: too many, be aware that this book has triggering content
- Main couple: Daphne & Tongue
- Hotness: 5/5 (but disturbing)
- Romance: 4/5 (but disturbing)
- + I loved how this ultra alpha male (borderline) sociopath shows his vulnerabilities to his woman
- – not sure psychosis works like that

I received this ALC in exchange for an honest review. I have just recently gotten into reading and listening to K.L. Savage and the Ruthless King’s MC series. Tongue’s Target was everything I expected and so much more. I was hooked from the beginning and found myself not wanting to push pause, so I could get so many questions answered about the deep, dark emotional characters!

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell narrate this audiobook. These two narrators are always one click narrators for me. Maxine’s performance of Daphne is epic! She really brings all the raw, emotion and conflicted pain of Daphne’s past to life. You can feel her love and devotion for Tongue, and it really moves you. Joe’s deep, fierce smokey tone is mesmerizing in his performance of Tongue. He brings a certain tough intensity to Tongue's character that instantly pulls you in. All the accents these two portray in this story are spot on and completely captivating!

Overall, this book will answer many questions of past relationships with characters, but will leave you wanting so much more! KL Savage has written a powerful, serious, and steamy story about two haunted and depressed souls. Wow! That ending...I am eager and anxious to see how this all plays out!

"My soul is linked to his. I know in my heart; I was born to die being loved by him."

5 Hauntingly Beautiful Stars!!! A heartbreaking story that will leave you breathless!

Tongue and Daphne have a love story for the ages. But it's a tough journey. Tongue has demons he's dealing with and trying to keep at bay. Daphne does everything she can to keep those demons from bubbling to the surface... but how long can she do this before it becomes too much?

This book is dark, twisted, and completely heartbreaking. These two's love story is something else, it will take you on quite a ride. So buckle up and hang on!!! I can't wait to read more in the series!!!

This is the tenth book in this series. I think they are better read in order. Tongue and Daphne are prefect for each other. Tongue would do anything, kill anyone for Daphne, for his comet. Then someone takes her. Tongue is going to kill anyone who stops him from getting Daphne again. Only when he finds her, she doesn’t remember him at all. Tongue has been through so much and so has Daphne. How much more can he take? Ties will be tested in this book. Will Tongues brothers have his back when he needs them most? I want to read about the New Orleans Chapter so much. Those guys are always crossing over with this series. Tongue is my favorite guy. It hurts to see him going through this. I hope that Tongue and Daphne can find their way back to each other. Fantastic job K.L. Savage. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I can’t recommend this book or the series enough.

That ending!

Spoiler it ends on a cliffhanger!
This a continuation of Tongue and Daphne's story. Tongue still has the guilt of hurting Sarah weighing on him. Daphne is getting her bookstore built with Tongue's help.

But she also gets some unexpected news and than her father calls to tell her her aunt is in the hospital and that she needs to get home.
She slips out while Tongue is sleeping and he goes after her when he realizes she's left the compound.

But by the time he reaches her she's forgotten who he is, all thanks to the whatever her father does to twist her mind.

I'm not sure how I can put into words what Tongue and Daphne have done to me. This book is like a teetering top, it spins and has that mesmerizing effect. I can't look away and can't wait to see how it finally falls into place.

This one has me loving them all the more. I even shed a few tears. I was oh so angry, held my breath and how I'm white knuckled on that ending because.... DANG!!!!

Tongues target continues from where his first book leaves off. Tongue and Daphne story is heart wrenching  gritty and one you just can't get enough of. They were made for each other. They  know how to make the other person better. Daphne has another episode and forgets her life with tongue. Will he be able to help her remember? Will her past come back and haunt her ?

Haven’t long picked up this series, and have binged my way through back to back!
I’ve really enjoyed getting to know all the characters more, but there is something about Tongue and Daphne that really has me addicted to them. I just love their characters, how raw and unconditional their love and passion is. For me, I felt the writing was well done and really emotive. Some interesting twists that kept things exciting and less predictable! I can’t wait for the next book 🖤 I need more.

" There are infinite amounts of possibilities I can do and the only person that stops me from accomplishing anything is me "
This quote from the book sums up well the growth and change you see in Tongue and Daphne. I am thrilled with the continuation of their story. I was disappointed in the club members from Vegas and I hope in the next book about Tongue they show the same amount of growth in who they are as people, especially Reaper. I believe there was an element of payback in his actions.
The only reason I am giving this a 4 star review instead of a 5 is vecause of the cliffhanger ending. I don't read cliffhangers and had I known I would have waited for the next book in the series was out.
Having said that, it's an excellent book and an excellent addition to the series.
