I received a review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Wow! Not what I was expecting but in a really good way.

Vlad's character is even more unpredictable in book two. Dahlia's betrayal has left Vlad bitter and very angry, as you would expect, but I have to say there were some real jaw dropping moments because of this, not just from Vlad but from Dahlia. She is not holding things together in this book and when you have a job as dangerous as hers, you better hope you can keep it together long enough so you don't get killed. I loved this book it was a roll coaster of emotion.

If you like book ONE IN THIS SERIES YOU WILL LOVE BOOK TWO.

Happy Reading 📚📙📚📓📘📗📚📗📘📓📚📒📚📗📓📘📕📔📖📚📒📙📖

STORY:
I’ll do my best to not do spoilers, but just in case I don’t consider it spoilers, and you do, this review may contain spoilers. I’ll also review this book in sections of the first 50% and then the remaining 50% of the book.

1 to 55%
I had so many mix emotions with the first part of this story. This was like a U turn Harem, where she chooses, but my question is, WHY ARE YOU MAKING ME FALL IN LOVE WITH SALVI MORETTI, WHY?!? Dahlia’s next undercover assignment was, Salvi Moretti, yes, the brute we met in book 1 who bought Dahlia at an auction. Reading the first part of the story was interesting seeing Dahlia different emotional stages towards Salvi. My heart belongs to Vlad, but I literally had to hold myself back from enjoying the book, because I felt like I was cheating emotionally on Vlad. Now, Salvi isn’t a saint, but he grows on you the more he lets you in. The final dramatic pull for me that made me cave with my feelings, as I couldn’t fight it anymore, was the prison scene with Salvi and Dahlia. At that moment I playfully resented the author thinking to myself, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY!!!!! now my heart has been broken twice, thank you very much. Not sure how other readers will feel in regards to what transpired between Salvi and Dahlia so be prepared.

56 to 100%
The author is telling us the story from both Vlad’s and Dahlia’s POV throughout the months of his imprisonment. You can only imagine the anger festering on Vlad’s end because this allowed him to do something that I wasn’t a fan of. Throughout this time, Dahlia is remorseful and somewhat received closure on her past as we know she did not have the best upbringing. Once Dahlia and Vlad came together again, obviously you can imagine how that went. They got their HEA but not happy with the whole Salvi, thing, that’s playing with emotions too much.

CHEMISTRY:
Physical chemistry, I was satisfied. In the beginning of the book, it was awkward, however, it became better.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
Miran - he took Dahlia in at 17 and he is her boss. For a minute, his scenes made you wonder.

Gabriele- future bae. Can’t wait to see what his story will entail. He is low key and isn’t thirsty for power, so this should be interesting.

Enzo Vitalli - he doesn’t even deserve a book, but let’s see how this goes. I just really don’t like him.

Salvi Moretti - future hubby. My whole attitude changed in regard to him.

Overall, in book 1 I had mix emotions if you saw my review. The first half didn’t appeal to me, but became so enthralled by the last 50%. In book 2, I enjoyed the characters. Not sure how I felt about the beginning as that’s a me thing and not an author thing because I was very conflicted. But, I can say I really liked book 2.

**Trigger: Dahlia’s past and child abuse.

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book is just as good, if not better than the first in the duet! There’s plenty of angst and drama, and lots (and I mean LOTS) of action. This novel picks up right where the first book ended. Both Vlad and Dahlia have been forever changed by the events at the end of the first book.
One thing that was a smidge annoying was that there was a new potential love interest introduced for Dahlia, and the story of her and him was almost identical to her love story with Vlad. I would have liked for a little more variety, rather than revisiting the Beauty and the Beast retelling, just with a new Beast.
While I did love this book, Vlad was a little moody for my liking. It takes him forever to forgive Dahlia for her betrayal. And when I say forever, I really mean it. A lot of their fighting seemed to be filler, adding pages to the book that could have been better suited elsewhere.
There are still some editing issues with this book, but they didn’t seem as significant as those in the first.
All that said, there was still a lot of other stuff in the book that I loved, which is why I give the book 4 stars.

ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange of an honest review. Thank you, Beena!

So this is the 8th book I’m reading from this author and I am more impressed with her imagination each and every time I get my hands on one of her books. And my heart hurts that I have to give this book 4 stars instead of 5, but I just couldn’t get over the prison part of the book.

First of all, this is not the kind of book anyone has the guts to read. Even though the first 20% of the book started slowly, when the action started to roll, I also started having mixed feelings... The subject that touched me the most in the book was the rape... and the author managed to write the action so well, that it felt real. When I was more than half of the book into the action, I had to take 10-15 minutes and breathe because my heart was so broken for the main female character, that I simply needed to take a break from reading the book. I was never so involved into a character’s life, like I was in Dahlia’s when she had to face one of the worst situations of her life. My heart ached for her. Literally.

So this is why, the part with Salvi was my favorite. I don’t know why, but I liked him better than Vlad. I just couldn’t forgive Vlad for being such an ignorant guy in prison... Yes, we had a happy ending, but for me, nothing that happened after the prison scenes didn’t matter anymore. I would have rather seen Dahlia with Salvi, than with Vlad.

But no matter how I feel about it, I still need to praise Beena for her writing style 👏👏👏 because it was flawless, like I knew it would be. That’s why I read it in less than a day.

Favorite quote:
“This was our happily ever after.
It was a tale old as time.
I had met a beast who was living in the shadows of his past.
I was the beauty in pursuit of a better future.
And together we created beauty and the beast.”

Disappointing

0.5/5 + 1⭐ for Lebanese FMC

Ummmmm, what did I just read?

Dahlia is a terrible FMC. TSTL but she's supposed to be a bad*ss?

I hated Dahlia so much. She acted like a petulant child 95% of the time. Honestly, I forgave her childlike mindset in book one because of the last ten percent, but I can't forgive it in this book.

I did not like this book and the storyline was so weird. Half the things that happened had no real reason for happening.

The writing style was awkward and wordy. Especially Vlad's chapters. I get that the author was trying to be unique with the 1st + 3rd person narration, but it just felt stilted. I would have liked it more if we actually got a chance to be inside Vlad's head.

I liked Vlad only enough to give this book half a star.

Overall, I don't recommend. I really wanted to like this book because it's one of the only mafia romance books with a BIPOC MC, but I just couldn't find any redeeming qualities.

What a book!!
I loved it. Dahlia and Vlad's story continues in the second book of the series.
After the cliffhanger of the first book, i wasn't sure what to expect.
It wasn't this!!
Dahlia takes risks, goes through heartache and so much hurt and pain in this it wrecked me.
Beena wrote this beautifully, what a beautiful ending, despite the trauma she experienced.
Warning - this book has dark parts.

A beast so cold is the sequel to the modern dark mafia retelling of beauty & and the beast. It follows right away after the staggering cliffhanger in book one, so you would have to read the first book A Beauty so cruel to understand A beast so cold. (If you haven't already go pick it up!).
In this novel, we see what happens to Vlad in Prison. Meanwhile, Dahila gets her new assignment: Salvi Moretti. We face internal conflict among Dahlia, her need for Vlad is practically eating her up. But she can't focus on him because of her duty to the DEA. So she turned her attention towards Salvi. She discovers he is terrible. But not? Maybe the devil isn't all that evil... There are many twists and turns in this book that add to the dark aspect of A beast so cold. This book was gorgeously written and was all dark at the same time. So you can be mindful of the fact some situations can cause triggers to some (listed at end of review). I had enjoyed seeing the growth of Vlad and Dahlias relationship and the way they had handled obstacles thrown at them. The author had created tension and welded it well. Another feature I had liked was Salvi's character growth. That being said, I don't forgive any previous actions of his. But I did admire the growth and acknowledgment in his character.
A beast so cold is a passionate, suspenseful, and dark read.

This is an amazing wrap-up to Vlad and Dahlia's story. Gladly, there will be more books in this world so I'm looking forward to that. :)

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Rape, Sexual Assault, language, murder, suicide (attempt), abuse, bullying, and violence.

I voluntarily received an e-ARC copy of this book from the Author in exchange for a review. Thank you so much!!!
All thoughts expressed are mine :)

Author has knocked it out of the park with A Beast So Cold!

The story was beautiful and gripping. I sympathized with Dahlia after all she had been through and when she was lost in the dark when triggered. Vlad and Salvi were dark and mysterious behind that perfectly polished cruel exterior. Otherwise, the story was everything I expected it to be-steamy, tragic, heartbreaking and tense.

What I admire the most with this author is her writing style. The way the words flow is impeccable.

this book was honestly amazing. I loved it so much the emotion in the heart full emotion everything was portrayed beautifully. There were moments where I cried moments where I screamed moments where I was so happy this book is literally amazing it’s one of my favorite mafia series I love it so much. The author did such an amazing job writing it in portraying the character so well I loved how there was time for spice but yet realistic things that they were also going through. I really loved how much they fought for each other and how they stuck for each other always. This book was so amazing I love it so much.

Oh. My. God.

Beena has wrecked me. Through the entire course of reading this book, my heart broke infinite times. I'm not usually the type to cry while reading books but Beena wrote something so distinct that I just HAD to become volatile. I can officially say that this book is incredible beyond words. She has written her characters in such a raw way that you just HAVE to feel for them as if YOU, YOURSELF, are going through such a tragic & gloomy experience. It's that tremendous book that makes you WANT to feel the emotions with the character, their happiness, their unhappiness, their heartbreak, their anguish, their anger, everything. The plot of this book was immaculate while reading the book I had no idea what was coming next, it made me sit at the edge of my seat and BRACE myself in anticipation of what the next page would bring.

I loved how instead of pacing the book up, Beena went slowly into everything as if unraveling everything bit by bit. I relished how we got a different view on each of the character's feelings and PAST, especially Gabriel and Dhalia(their past always made me curious.)

Overall, it was a beautifully written book, with an entire (raw) emotional roller coaster ride, and unexpected plot twists.

SPANISH REVIEW

First of all, thank you again Beena for sharing more of your talent with me, for trusting and respect my truly reviews and obviously for supporting my edits. ✨

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Intense, dark, nerve-wracking, perfect!🖤

After the ending of book 1 - #ABeautySoCruel I *needed* to know how the story would continue. I loved Dahlia and Vlad so much and honestly the ending came very unexpected. Beena Khan completely shocked me with this turn!

Now, going into book 2 I was of course really curious, but I also didn’t really know what to expect, because how should things turn out well in the end if we had to deal with a betrayal this big? Especially because Vlad’s behaviour wasn’t very forthcoming…
And to be perfectly honest? I didn’t like the direction the book took in the first half of #ABeastSoCold 🙈
The book still gets the full 5 stars for me. Why? Well, let me explain. Even though I didn’t like the first half to begin with, the things that happened toyed with my emotions. I had a theory that we might get to see more of Salvi and I expected to hate him. Which… I did… and I also did not. Despite all odds Salvi all of a sudden didn’t seem like a monster, like the devil, anymore. I don’t know when that change happened, but all of a sudden I developed positive emotions towards him and I was so incredibly torn. I had a lot of nervous energy reading this sequel. I was nervous because I didn’t know what to expect, what to think, what to hope for. Did I want Vlad back? Yes! But would I have been okay if Dahlia changed her mind and chose Salvi instead? Also yes! I felt frustrated, because Vlad seemed to be so detached. The Vlad I learned to love in book 1 - where was he?
All in all there were A LOT of emotions involved while reading this sequel. It broke my heart, put it back together and left me as a nervous bundle of nerves. But EXACTLY THIS, this whirlwind of emotions shows me that the author did a FANTASTIC job writing these characters. So, even though I didn’t like the beginning, I can still appreciate that the author put me in an emotional rollercoaster and leaving a reader so on edge is really no easy task. Meaning? #BeenaKhan wrote a little masterpiece!

And it doesn’t stop there, because this book goes all out when it comes to “dark”. There are things happening… wow… I had to pause in some scenes, reread passages to make sure that was actually happening, I had to take deep breaths to steady myself, because it was painful to read.
Beena Khan also surprised me in so many instances. There were scenes and developments where I was like “Ah, I know where you’re going. That is the perfect scene for him to -” and while I was thinking that something completely different happened and left me dumbstruck. I don’t know when a book lastly surprised me THAT many times!!!

To sum this up: The sequel was intense and dark. Really dark. So if you’re a sensitive person, this might not be the right book for you. But if you want to dive in and experience the darkness, let me tell you that you will be rewarded in the end. Because the ending is absolutely perfect. I couldn’t have hoped for a better ending to be honest. Beena kept me on the edge of my seat while waiting for that ending, taking some detours, but in the end we got there!🖤🖤🖤

3,5⭐

"And together we created beauty and the beast."

Warning- this is emotional and deep read. Be prepared for a emotional roller coaster.

I don't like mafia romance but I devoured 1st book in series so I really wanted to know more. 1st book has a cliffhanger and possible spoiler alert, but it's a story about Dahlia and Vlad (mafia king). Second book takes place similar, but we have "old friend" involved- Salvi- another mafia king.

I don't know what Salvi has, but I was on his side from book one, and I kinda liked his personality and behavior through the book two.

We get to know past scenes from the heroes, which are emotional and heart-breaking too, so be prepared- this isn't a light read. Although I was intrigued in this story from the begging, pages were really quickly turning, I was drawn to a story. I really hoped that there were no "romance triangles" because I was on team Dahlia- Vlad all the time. Story ends with HEA, I'm a romance girl, and I was satisfied with the romantic aspects.
I didn't like some violent parts (again, it's mafia) so I skipped some lines in the book. The story has an event with trigger warning.

I read all Beena's books and you can really tell she progresses and develops better writing with every next book. Looking forward to other books.

"Beauty had tamed the Beast."

Read for bookclub for 3 different challenges: By an indie pubbed author, by an Asian author, trope you don't like.

The conclusion of Dalhia and Vlad's story, picking right up where that doozie of a cliffy left us.

Dahlia ends up in a similar situation but this time it is sort of more by choice than by shock. Will the outcome be the same?

Vlad is living his days as a captive. He hates Dahlia for what she did to him and would love nothing more than to kill her.

Can Vlad and Dahlia forgive each other? Can they move passed all the hurt and betrayal and find their HEA? Well, I know, now it's your turn to find out.

I was a little thrown off when book 1 switched between Dahlia's 1st person POV and Vlad's 3rd person POV but was actually used to it this time around because I expected it. Not sure if this is just the authors style as this is the first series I have read by Beena. One of the things that kept taking me out of the story was how aware of Dahlia's triggers Vlad had to keep telling us he was. The writing should show not tell. Even Dahlia told us she was triggered, her feelings and actions should have been enough for the reader to know that something triggered her.

I was given an Audio ARC and this time the narrator was a female (book 1 was a male) and overall my listening experience was better this time around. Had the books been a male and female I would have enjoyed them even more, but that's more my personal preference with dual POV books.

Overall, Beena has created a world full of characters that are very intriguing and dark. Although Vlad and Dahlia's story is over, there will be more coming from this Mafioso Familia and I will definitely continue reading.

As if the first book didn't have enough drama, steamy scenes and Dahlia being a bad ass - the sequel takes it to a whole new level!

The story picks up where the first one ended and you're thrown straight back into the pain from the cliffhanger of the first book! There's so many twists and turns in this that I honestly couldn't put it down once I started.

Dahlia continues to be her bad ass self, working hard and basically trying to accept her heartache over her betrayal of Vlad. Vlad continues to be the broody alpha male you love from the first book. There was only maybe twice where I just wanted to shake him and scream at him 😂

This is an amazing sequel and Vlad and Dahlia will definitely be on my mind for a long time after this!

Salvi Moretti deserves the world but the world doesn't deserve Salvi Moretti.

I really liked this book, even more than the first one (and I thought it was going to be hard to like this one more, but it wasn't, and I think it was thanks to Salvi and his development as a character), the plot of this book was so intense, Dahlia trying to seduce Salvi to take him down, Vlad in prison and feeling betrayed, Dahlia having missed feelings about Vlad, ALL the levels of angst.
I loved Vlad since the first book and suffered with him so so much, he was really twisted and cruel in this book really showing how Dahlia's betrayal affected him but he's still my baby.
I think every character in this book went on a path of acceptance and development, it was a really good finale for this duet.

This is the 2nd book in Khan's A Modern Day Beauty & The Beast Billionaire Fairytale series. This is a dark twist on one of my favorite fairytales. This is not a love story for the faint of heart. This is a story of finding love in the darkest of places. This series will reach inside you and squeeze your heart, having you holding your breath, cheering the characters on, and then turning around and cursing them out.

Wow, just… wow! This one’s a hit. This is a must read. Loved this book so much. This is so action packed and eventful you will not be able to stop reading after the 50% mark. If you’re reading these 5-star reviews and wondering if this book will live up to the hype, let me tell you, it most certainly does.

A Beast So Cold (Beauty & The Beast, #2) is the continuation of Vlad and Dahlia’s story from A Beauty So Cruel (Beauty & The Beast, #1). You must read this duet together as it takes place right after book 1.

After the events that occurred on the night of the ball, we are all reeling from the huge bomb Dahlia dropped on us at the very last scene of the first book. As a reader, I felt so angry at Dahlia and felt so deeply for Vlad. After such an epic betrayal how does one go back from that? And how will Dahlia be able to live with herself after what she did? Where does Miran fall into all of this? Is he good/bad? You will find all of these answers. I loved that Beena tied up every lose end in this conclusion. I was so happy with the way everything turned out. Although readers, this is a dark romance. Very dark. I loved it tremendously and I highly encourage you to read it anyway. There is such true emotion, and such climactic scenes that you will not regret it.

The amazing Beena Khan has written a suspenseful, epic, thrilling, action packed, epic read with so many climactic scenes you honestly cannot your kindle down. Honestly, I was in trance not knowing how on earth these two could possibly make this work. I literally had my mouth gaping at some of these scenes.

There are some dark scenes and some questionable ones. Once you read up to about 40%, you will feel emotions towards certain characters that will change throughout the story. The book takes us through the good vs evil mindset. There aren’t always clear-cut lines on who is good and who is the villain. I know that sounds cliché, but the brilliance of the writing here is that it’s clear cut and true. We see how the characters grow while trying to navigate impossible odds. Redemption sometimes breeds forgiveness.

Characters that we thought were evil redeem themselves and yes, Salvi isn’t such a good person, but I can honestly see how someone like Dahlia with her beauty and unique essence could make anyone fall for her. Yes, Salvi is in this book quite a lot. I hated his scenes with Dahlia but only because I hardcore wanted Vlad and Dahlia to be together more than anything. Nothing is easy about their journey. NOTHING. That’s the beauty of this book. You can hate the characters, you can be angry at them, you could honestly cry at how emotional certain parts were especially when Dahlia and Vlad were working things out.

I am so proud of both Vlad and Dahlia. I am also proud of the secondary characters and their character progressions as well. Everyone went through so much. There is no way to even guess after a certain point how things will end. Trust me though, at the end, you will leave with the biggest smile on your face.

This series should be purchased as I can see a Netflix type series here. This book constantly gave me Homeland (the TV show) vibes. The suspense, the betrayal, the heartbreak. It was all there. A lot of this book is hard to read but at the end I was thrilled I read it. I am so happy I found this author and read this duet.

This was completely heart stopping at times. A fantastic read and I highly recommend this if you love angst, dark romance, hate to love, action packed climax. I can’t see how anyone wouldn’t love this. I even think I could get my non romance reading husband to get on board with this.

As a middle eastern woman myself, I love that Dahlia Hadid discussed her background and even the delicious food was highlighted, Beena has a way of highlighting little details that make you smile.

I received an ARC and am leaving my voluntary review.

DNF: 77%

I really wanted to push through with this book, but I just couldn’t get past her being with another man.... like I get that she betrayed him and they were separated, but then she got with his enemy and started having feelings for this new guy. Once the new guy died she immediately started talking about how she loves the H and wants him back.... like MA’AM plzzz

This is book no. 2 of the “Beauty and The Beast” series by Beena Khan. It is such a huge honor to get an ARC by her personally. I have talked about the writing style of Beena Khan a few times before and with every book I read, my love for her books has increased. By now I am convinced that she is born with this talent of writing such amazing stories that keep you engaged throughout. This series is more addicting than the previous one, maybe because of the different type the story and its characters accordingly. The thing that surprises me is that Beena can create curiosity in romance and I think it’s very difficult for a writer to built inquisitiveness throughout the book. When the first book ended and it revealed the characters’ truth, you think this is the end of the story but as soon as the next book comes there is a new turn in the book and you are amazed by the new story that’s being constructed. All the characters of this book Dahlia, Vlad, Salvi, Miran, are just so… WOW. They all make you hooked with the book. This part was full of surprises, you make scenarios in your head but something startles you in the middle of nowhere.

Book starts when we come to know that Vlad was arrested as a result of Dahlia’s under cover assignment. She couldn’t take him out of her mind because it was obvious in last book that she was falling for him. Even after several months of the previous assignment, she was having flashbacks and somehow she was feeling bad for Vlad but couldn’t express because of her position. On the other side, Vlad had only hatred for Dahlia because of her betrayal. He was shaking off every thought of her as he couldn’t believe what she had done to him. His trust was badly shattered because he shared a part of him with her that he could never share with anyone else. He was becoming more of a beast with the anger boiling inside him. Then Dahlia got to know her next assignment is Salvi Moretti. The plan was to seduce him and get the required information. Salvi was the one who triggered a past sexual assault so Dahlia’s hatred was justifies for him. She made up her mind to take him down at any cost and accepted the assignment. When she was successful in her assignment and got other dons arrested too, she should be feeling accomplished but her heart was restless consistently so she decided to meet Vlad in prison despite Miran forbidden her.

When Dahlia reached the prison, due to a mishap, it broke loose and obviously all the monsters that were kept inside were free. She was in extreme danger but deep down her heart knew one of the monsters will come for her and protect her. But what happened next will break your heart into pieces and was just so unexpected. She was left in a cage with all the dons she got arrested and Vlad refused to shield her and walked away from her. You actually feel your heart getting broken at this and you ache for Dahlia because she was all alone in her assignments and now in this too. Vlad’s hatred was reasonable but his one decision to leave her was unimaginable. There were so many trigger warnings there and only a strong hearted person can read this book further. Story takes turn from here and Dahlia made her life decision and tried to make things. She found out about Salvi’s reality as well and he is not what she was expecting him throughout. Then you see a love triangle emerging and wonder who Dahlia is going to choose. Salvi becomes your favorite villain with all this flaws and charms both and you cannot even help it. Vlad was proven how much Dahlia loved him and you wonder if she regains his trust or not.

This story will give you a roller-coaster ride of emotions throughout. You feel sad, angry, devastated, happy and whatnot in just this one. You feel every single emotion of every character and develop love-hate attachment with everyone at some point. Dahlia’s story feels so realistic with raw spirit. One things that needs to be mentioned here is, this book has a lot darker side than the first part but Beena’s female characters are so strong that you can’t help but admire the beauty of it. Also, believe me, you will fall for the villains more than the hero 😉

My favorite quote from this book was “I looked at him again, and I knew with my whole heart, if given the chance to re-do my past, I would still pick him again”
Let me know yours ❤

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A Beast So Cold by Beena Khan is a dark mafia romance. It's the second book from the Beauty and The Beast series and the last part of Vlad and Dahlia's story.

After Dahlia's betrayal, Vlad Vitalli has been transported to prison in Viker’s Island. A few months later it was time for her to move on to her next assignment, Salvi Moretti. This time she was going to seduce the Don and get the information she needed. Her plan didn't work as she had hoped but in the end, she got what she wanted, plus a few bonus arrests. The problem was that she wasn't happy with what she had done. Vlad was etched in her mind and her heart. Dahlia decided to go visit him in prison and then all hell broke loose. She was cornered by a few monsters and her only hope was the grey-eyed beast. Would Vlad put aside his hate for her and save her?

This series is from those that it gets better with each book. Here the danger and the sexual tension were off the charts. The plot became rawer since we saw the characters hurting both physically and mentally. They also toughened up and revealed their truths. Even though there were many sexual scenes between Dahlia and the Devil, I feel that the story was more focused on her dilemma between her feelings towards Vlad and her fight for her cause. Almost two-thirds of it wasn't as dark as the previous one and the plot twist towards the end was an excellent touch. But what I loved more was that we got to know Salvi, he became my new favorite villain and I can't wait to read his story.

I fell in love with this duet and I will rate it with 5 stars. This is not a standalone so make sure to read the first book as well.

P.S. I hope Salvi gets his own feisty girl.

This is the follow up to A Beauty So Cruel, which ended in an intense cliffhanger/plot twist. I am a huge fan of fairytale retellings, especially for Beauty & The Beast. This book did not disappoint! I loved book 1, but this one was even better! Beena Khan has created a great mafia world. Her mafia twist to this retelling was unique and exciting. The plot wasn’t forced, her characters had depth, and the story flowed perfectly, leaving you on the edge of your seat. She makes it easy to be invested in this story. Dahlia and Vlad’s relationship is unique, passionate and thrilling. Vlad is a total contradiction. A mafia bad boy with a heart. Swoon! The angst and sexual tension are off the charts! And I love love love Salvi Moretti! I cannot wait for his story! Thank you Beena Khan for gifting me this audiobook in exchange for an honest review!

“Once upon a time… There was a beauty, and she ravaged the beast.”

Narrator Lexi Evans was perfectly cast for this role. I especially loved her as Dahlia and how she brought out her strength and turmoil. The men in this book are dark, broody, and very alpha. Lexi’s portrayal of them was spot on. Her timing, pacing, flow, pronunciations, and emotional expression were all great. She did the story justice and brought the characters to life.

5 devastation-turned-beautiful Stars!

Another great read by Beena Khan who once again brings strong characters in the continuing story of Vlad and Dahlia. She does a fantastic job pulling you in and had me glued to the pages from start to finish. It's another dark and emotional story with vividly painted scenes ,is well written ,moves quickly and smoothly and has me anxious for the next book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

I was so excited and scared to start this one because of how the first book ended and boy was this book one emotional rollercoaster ride. Everything got so much darker in this sequel and so much more emotional. I read this book in one sitting because I just couldn’t stop reading I wanted to know what will happen next and when are they going to be together again.
The first half of the book got me so frustrated, like I was saying no nononnono so many times and getting mad and annoyed with everything going on. Honestly I did not like Dhalia’s mission IT MADE ME SO MAD. I get why she’s doing it but I still can’t help but feel betrayed for Vlad 😭 and then I get to read the last half of the book and I was so ready to throw my kindle, to jump of a cliff, and to cry me a river! This is one of the most angsty romance I’ve read, it really ripped my heart and tore it to pieces. I was crying at 4 AM thanks to this book.
Miran and Dhalia’s relationship was beautiful too. I’m honestly glad that Dhalia isn’t entirely alone and that she had someone to help her during one of her toughest times in her life. He is definitely the father figure she needs.
I love how Dhalia and Vlad worked their issues and I love seeing them rekindle their love for each other. It was truly painful and emotional to see them feel hate for each other, but I love how everything worked out in the end. After everything they went through, they deserved the happily ever after!!!
Overall I really did love this book so much but I gave it 4 stars because of the first half with no Vlad and Dhalia scenes and so many Salvi and Dhalia scenes (petty i know but i was just hurting too much haha)
