You never know how far you’ll go until you’re put in compromising situation and the Banks’ sisters have learned to never to say never. Ever. When tragedy strikes, the three girls are left alone in this cold world to fend for themselves, moving across the border from Haiti to the United States didn’t make things easier either. As the oldest, Billion Banks feels an obligation to her sisters and their well-being. Tainted by her childhood, Billion’s hatred for men turns her heart cold. Pushing her feelings to the side, she works overtime in order to take care of her family. There’s no length Billion wouldn’t go to make sure the Banks’ sisters are good, even if it means dealing drugs. What happens to the person always putting everyone else first? Will she end up in last place? Or worse... dead? Breeze Banks is the hopeless romantic of the sisters. In love with the idea of being in love, she just knows one day she’ll have the perfect family with the house and the white picket fence. When she meets Rookie, a single father, working a 9-5 in the day and struggling to make a name for himself on the block at night, she’s intrigued. Rookie isn’t what Breeze is used to, but he’s everything she imagined. When the Banks sisters wreak havoc on Rookie’s block, leaving him short a hustle, Breeze finds herself torn. Will the secret her and her sisters carry ruin her chances of happiness? Blessyn Banks is the most damaged of the sisters. Being the product of an affair between her mother and another man, was a burden too heavy to bare. Even though she carried his name, her stepfather despised her, if that wasn’t bad enough, her biological father wanted nothing to do with her. This alone leaves Blessyn struggling to find the light within the darkness and the love, where there is none. Will she finally discover her worth and move on from a volatile flame before it comes back to burn her? Or will history repeats itself, leaving her like her mother?
I need more! From the very first paragraph I was hooked! Those sisters went through it! I love the different personalities and the different POV from each sister. Billion.... poor Billion! She can’t catch a break. Blessyn really irritated me. I wanted so bad for her to level up! Jordan doesn’t deserve her. Breeze is my favorite. I’m hoping that the sisters are ok but seeing how things ended, I’m unsure.
Overall... this book kept my attention. I love how the storyline isn’t predictable and how each scene is developed. The back story was a bonus and it flowed perfectly. I’m looking forward for part 2.
First of all this is urban fiction not urban romance ain’t no romance in this fr. So keep that in mind. There is a lot of trauma stuff (domestics violence, CPS, incarceration, drug slangin, unaliving, etc.) within these pages so keep that in mind. These sisters lowkey got on my nerves all 3 of them. I can appreciate how the author showed us how they ended up in the “career” that they did. Meaning the story starts when they’re teenagers/young adults & continues through them being grown & on their own. I do wish the pacing of the story was a tad bit faster. This book does end on a good cliffhanger too.
This book gave me life! I loved everything about the Banks sisters I stayed up and read this book in one sitting and was done at 6 in the morning.. I got to the end and said there’s no way the girls gone out like that there has to be more. In true Lucinda John fashion I know you got something cooking up your sleeves. My sisters need an intervention Breeze and Blessyn just needs to get her life😫 I would recommend this book to anyone it really was a page turner from start to finish
I loved this book like I loved all the others. The reference to West Palm because that’s where I live. Also I can really relate. Not as bad. I really love the bank sisters. I’m was glad that Billion kept her baby. Even though it may hurt to think about who her daddy is. And how the daddy deceived her. (Khadijahkhadijah)
I loved this book. I’m know I’m late. I can honestly feel some over the things the sister went through. I was happy about the reference to West Palm. since that is where I live. (Khadijahkhadijah)
I wanted to enjoy this book but it was such a slow read. The plot made no sense most of the time. Like girl, whatt?? Blessyn character was a trip though...You supposedly dropped out of school to be an entrepreneur to end up working for someone showing your body with no real dream, skill of plan? Like sis, what exactly is the goal? People get into that life because they don’t have a choice. You walked in because what?? Honestly, I wouldn’t be sad if she died off because she legit adds nothing exciting to the plot. Anyways, let’s see what the other books bring.
This don't make no sense! Please don't let the girls be dead. I REALLY feel for poor Blessyn I hope she don't get so hooked on the drugs. Jordan needs his arse whupped. I would love to see Breeze and Rookie hook up they belong together. Billion definitely needs someone in her corner too hopefully she can break that wall around her heart and find someone to really love her the way she deserves to be. bring on book 2 please!!
I enjoyed this book so much. Three young sisters (Billion, Breeze and Blessyn) struggle to love and embrace themselves w/o the encouragement of their physically/abusive dad. He terrorizes his wife as well. I like the unpredictable storyline that kept you asking what is going to happen next. I plan to read the complete series by author Lucinda John.
I loved the dynamic of the sisters. But I felt like it was all too much on my girl billion. And Blesyn started plucking my nerves at times not knowing her worth. It sucks because a lot women don’t see their worth until it’s too late. Hopefully if there’s a part 2 (which I’m sure it will be) she gets it together. Great read as always lu never lets me down
That ending though!! What if the dude they stole from is the guy she slept with when they were look for something to smoke. Hopefully he's Nyelle's father. I like Rookie forget with her sisters say Breeze better get him. Blessyn really get omn!! I sick of how stupid she is for Jordan I she gets of drugs and get a man that truly loves her.
I love the bond the sisters have and I loved how Lucinda took us back from when they lived in Haiti. There's getting ready to be drama and I can't wait until part 2 to see how it plays out. If you want to know about the story just read the book lol. Great job Lucinda 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
This shit is crazy. I never wanted the girls to even sell. I know someone was going to end up using. I don’t believe the girls or their mother is died. Brody and E hmm I feel their the ones behind everything. Why couldn’t they just sell drugs someplace else but south Florida move weight in Orlando. Crazy Billion got the hype she still wanna trap
I hope the girls are ok because Nyelle needs them. The thing about it is Billion wasn't even feeling robbing the trap house so she should of followed her first mind and then maybe they wouldn't be in this predicament. I can't wait to read Book 2 because I hope Rookie some how team up with the Banks sister's, hopefully Breeze will put him on. Great read!
Can hardly wait for the next part. That ending left me with my mouth on the floor. Billion trying to make a way for her sisters and daughter. Blessyn looking for love in all the wrong places so sad.
Wheeeewwwww chillllleeeee! I wasn’t expecting the book to end like that!!!!!! I’m telling y’all, Lucinda John is a beast with this writing! Read this book!
Damn who is the Attacker. I hope she don’t get hooked. I wonder if Rookie & Breeze Gonna hook up. Where is Breeze & Blessyn at? This book was different to me. I wonder what’s gonna happened to the bank sisters next.
Part 1 was a good read. The story was so detailed and compelling I emotionally felt all the hopelessness these sisters encountered. I felt desperate for a breakthrough for them. That’s some good writing!
This book was good from start to finish, these girls had a troublesome upbringing no matter how hard they tried. From one bad situation to the next this book was very entertaining
The only reason I gave this book four stars was, because it didn't make me feel like her other books. Here come another female character getting hooked on drugs and the never ending cycle of abuse.
This book was an excellent read I enjoyed every minute of it . The characters are all raw. This author did an amazing job at setting the tone for the story we got to see them grind and get to it . I loved these characters and can’t wait to read book 2 !
I hate it with the girls have to go through How they're father was I hated everything that the mother have to go through But I feel like Book 2 Go to it's going to be great
I knew that all of their mess was going to catch up with them, but I thought it would have been later. All of them made dumb decisions though. Hopefully there's a sequel.
I can’t even describe how much I enjoyed this book! The writing is amazing and we really get the background on three sisters who are just fighting for survival. Lucinda is an amazing author! Tap innn!
Thank you for your imagination, and talents to transfer them into great stories. Definitely can't wait for part two. Please don't keep us waiting to long.
Well I'll be dam the Bank sister was dealt a bad hand from the beginning with the stuff they went through they should've thought more of the consequences of the outcome!!!
Besides the grammatical errors this book is straight heat and I don’t know when the next book is coming out but I need that ASAP Mrs John has a way with the pen
This was a good book. I can't wait for the next part. I love how Rookie was introduced later in the book. Very smart move adding his character. I love him already!!!
