A single school teacher desperate to get ahead got way more than she bargained for when she started a side hustle.

She’s a Hustle app driver. He’s a detective on a case. And her most regular passenger is a criminal.

One minute Angie’s counting her tips and the next, she’s being frisked by handsome detective Trent Turner.

In different circumstances, she wouldn’t have minded the attention of those piercing blue eyes, the feel of his hands, or even the sound of his voice. Except all he was interested in was wrapping her with wires and giving her instructions through an earpiece.

Good thing she’s getting paid for this, because if there’s anything more nerve-wracking than driving a criminal while secretly working with the cops, it’s listening to a charming voice that makes her heart want to jump out of her chest…

If only this undercover job didn’t depend on Angie keeping her feelings for Trent from spiraling out of control…

Single school teacher falls in love with the detective she's working with. Teacher and Detective working together? Romance? Never read before so I totally enjoyed every bit of it. Out of all the books in the series this was my utmost favorite. You will really love, Angie's character. She's a sweetheart and Trent is your mr perfectionist in a very charming sense.

I Adored This Story !! . . .

A side job providing an Uber service gets Angela Andrews (“Angie”) so much more than she ever imagined. Angie was a teacher who wants some extra money to save up for grad school. Apparently her most frequent customer, Mario Cruz, is a criminal working for a major drug dealer. Angie is approached by an attractive man, Detective Trent Turner, and asked to assist in their surveillance of the bad guy by wearing a “wire” for them to gather information.

It would be difficult not to like the naïve, sweet Angie. Trent is amused by her right from the start. When Angie got wired for their first excursion picking up Cruz, Delilah Stevenson helps get her ready. The woman flirted with Trent and wore a dress so tight that it revealed the outline of her thong. When Angie later implied -- after Cruz was dropped off and Trent followed her home for safety -- that he was probably attracted to Delilah, he denied it. When she pushed and insisted Delilah was every man’s type, he told her she wasn’t – but smiled and told her that SHE was his type! She turned bright red and ran inside.

Angie and Trent have a good relationship and Angie would like even more, at least until Delilah Stevenson lets her know that she had been spending “special” time at Trent’s apartment in the evenings. She didn’t bother to specify that other cops were there also since they were compiling the evidence against the drug lord. Unwilling to discuss it with Trent, she ignores him completely. Is this the end for them? Can she just walk away from him now?

This was a wonderful story line with fun banter and a close relationship derailed by a conniving woman who didn’t know when to back off. The characters in the story were wonderful and I enjoyed reading every page! Grab your copy and see how Angie’s adventure turns out and if there is any hope of a HEA for her and Trent.

If you're looking for a realistic, gritty and emotional romance read, perhaps Side Hustle isn't the story for you. If, however, you're looking for a sassy, clean, hilarious rom com book that will have you unable to put it down, then this is definitely the one you're going to go ahead and pick up.

Angie and Trent meet under strange circumstances. Her second job driving passengers for the Hustle app has put her accidentally into connection with drug runners, and Trent is the detective trying to piece the whole case together. What starts as an undercover assignment turns into a developing romance with a whole lot of chemistry. Can these two find a way to make a relationship work that started under such strange circumstances? I can guarantee you're going to want to find out.

Told in both Angie and Trent's viewpoints, Side Hustle is full of hilarious hijinks, heartwarming moments, and plenty of action. I read almost this entire story in one sitting, and Kaci Lane is definitely becoming an author to watch out for in the clean romance genre.

Definitely go ahead and pick this one up, especially if you're looking for something lighthearted to take your mind off of everything going on in our world today.

Final Rating: 4/5.

Thanks so much to Kaci Lane for letting me read and review this!

Perfect. I adored this book. A Sweet Romance, quick and easy read. After coming off of a 700 page book, I wanted something light, fun and easy. This was it! <3 A well written short sweet romance. Angie is an 'uber' driver who gets caught up driving a drug dealer around. A handsome officer asks her to assist in bringing down the dealers boss. She agrees and during the case she and the officer find a romantic interest in each other. It is almost derailed by the trainwreck Delilah. A definite read! I recommend. I really enjoy Kaci's books. I'm a fan!

~First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to the wonderful author of this book for sending me a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!~

Ahhhhh, yet another "aww" worthy romcom! (Holy cow, why am I reading these so fast! *sad & crying face*) It's hard to decide between these two books which one I love more XD
Unlike lots of series, this one has the same characters in the books! I always love when that happens, because you can get to know them even more.
Also, I love the feeling of Side Hustle, because it's a sort of I-like-you-but-I-shouldn't-like-you-but-I-really-really-like-you book, it's always hilarious when that happens.
I recommend this book to you!

The Side Hustle is so much fun! Angie started driving for the ride service Hustle to earn money to pay for grad school. After dropping one of her favorite riders at the airport, Angie is shocked to be pulled over by a police officer, Trent. When Angie learns that her rider works for a drug lord, she agrees to help Trent with the investigation. As they work together, Angie and Trent find it hard to resist the attraction between them. The progress of any relationship has bumps - for Angie and Trent, they come in the forms of a matchmaking best friend and a coworker scheming for her own relationship with Trent. With some drama, lots of humor and a few surprising twists, Trent and Angie manage to find their happy ending - much to the enjoyment of the readers.

An easy to read and funny story where a teacher and cab driver gets involved without her knowledge with a drug dealer and with the police. Written with humor and plenty of action, Side Hustle is entertaining and makes you smiles with the comments and observations made by the main characters. Good reading for some relaxing and fun time!

“The smell of wildflowers whispered around him as he caressed the soft skin of her shoulders. For someone with seasonal allergies, he sure had taken a liking to her floral aroma.”

Angie is a middle school teacher, and has a side job of being a Hustle app driver (basically like Uber). She didn’t expect her life to change instantly when she gets pulled over by a detective after dropping off a passenger. What she didn’t know is that passenger is actually a criminal. Since Angie is somewhat involved, Trent – the detective – asks her to become an informant to help with the case.

Since they’re spending a lot of time together, they both start to develop feelings for each other. However, they have to keep things professional, until one night while they were both going undercover, they share a kiss.

That was so incredibly adorable. I love romantic suspense and protector romance. This takes those styles and adds a heaping dose of comedy to make something altogether delightful. I’m picturing “Knight & Day” but without all the shooting and international locations. Angie and Trent are so endearingly awkward together at first, that every part of the socially awkward introvert in me was cheering in delight. I’m having so much fun with these characters. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us next.

Had some cute moments, but this was too unrealistic for me to really enjoy. Trent was also too judgy and creepy for me to like his character.
