Blood is soaking the streets of Shawville this festive season. Residents are getting more than they bargained for at Laymon's Lot tree farm. Horror writers D.J. Doyle and Lee Franklin invite you into the darkest depths of their twisted psyches. From horny snowmen to flesh-eating elves, and the body count soaring, we encourage you to sit down, put your feet up, and allow us to disgust you with our depraved minds. Countdown twelve days to a very bloody Xmas.
D.J. Doyle was raised by pot-smoking hippies and spent her days worshipping pagan deities in the HellFire Club and her nights watching horror movies and reading horror books. She now lives with her family in a treehouse, preying on unsuspecting travellers, and where she likes nothing better than coming up with ideas for new stories and plotting her next novel. Some of this might have been made up. To learn more about D.J. Doyle, her website can be found at http://djdoyleauthor.com and her official Facebook author page is https://www.facebook.com/DJDoyleAuthor/
Wow! I think I need to invest in about 100 gore suits as this book was swimming in blood and gore matter!
Twelve very extreme stories that will even make the hardcore extreme fans want to check themselves into the psych ward for evaluation!
The authors, D.J. Doyle and Lee Franklin went on a rip-roaring gore fest in this book! Did I say the word "rip"?! That is not even the half of it as there was ripping alright and lots of blood splattering on everything!

All of these stories are brutal and I would say really for the hardcore extreme horror fans as there are all types of situations in this book with these stories as all of them are not for the faint of heart! This whole book is literally a total bloodbath and I do not say that lightly! So you have been warned!
If you cannot handle extreme situations then it might not be for you, but for the horror fans out there that love to slosh around in body parts and gore then go grab this book as I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
What do you get when you have gremlins, evil snowmen, haunted Xmas trees, and blood? The 12 days of XMAS!!!!!.... Doyle and Franklin, who have both proven their worth in the splatterpunk field have teamed up for some holiday (un) cheer. Would I be weird if I said it put me in to the holiday mood??? Oh well. It did. And thats my story and I'm sticking to it. Oh yeah, I loved how they put other authors in the storyline s
This was definitely an extreme Christmas for this town. A fantastic read with lots of stories all melding into one. Each tale having its own extreme take on the days counting down until Christmas day. From strange creatures to bizarre trees with a life of their own. No one was safe from young to old, strong or weak, brave or meak. Everyone succumbed to the horrors of the town's strange and macabre goings on. Great characters, and greatbstories. Definitely entertaining extreme action. Not for the easily offended or weak stomached. But one id recommend for anyone whom loves that extreme bloody violent tale.
Not your grandma's 12 Days of Christmas! You won't find no swans a swimming or Lords a leaping! A brutal blood fest in a countdown to Christmas. Familiar names made me giggle as I imagined the people I believe they were named after. Franklin and Doyle took turns, each writing 6 stories and it was almost like they were trying to outdo each other and I enjoyed every festive minute!
While the stories aren't necessarily connected, they all took place in the same town and mentioned the same Christmas tree lot. Which I found a lot of fun. A possessed Christmas tree, Santa hunting evil elves.. "Oh I have many names, young lady. I prefer Nick. And I ain't no Saint neither!"
Snowmen built on the graves of criminals, a Bigfoot type creature and more await you in these pages! Being on the nice list won't save you!
This delivers on its promise. Guts and gore and rape and death galore. If you’re a fan of extreme horror, you won’t be disappointed. Apparently ever character is named after an extreme horror author, which is a nice touch. I like a bit more depth in my horror, so 12 stories outstayed their welcome for me.
This was a book I was looking forward to enough to buy the paperback and what a fun ride it was! 12 short stories written by two of horror's finest female authors, serving up a spattering of extreme horror. Not for the weak of stomach, these stories contain a hell of a lot of gore, bizarre and disturbing situations, rape, and general nastiness. Overall, it is a very enjoyable read (if you can handle it!). I particularly enjoyed 2 Hunting Knives and 7 Snowmen.
Ok, love the nod to Laymon and a couple of other gore horror writers. Something else to freak me out? Snowmen! I don’t think you could add anymore blood and gore to these stories, they are truly the works of some very disturbed minds. Bravo, darlings! Disgustingly wonderful
If you are a fan of indie extreme horror, these two authors deliver. Of course, I may be biased as I am one of their victims in this fun collection of holiday mayhem.
Fun collection of 12 extreme horror short stories, perfect for the Christmas season! Definitely not for timid readers as I think Doyle and Franklin managed to check off nearly every trigger there is, and the fearlessness of these authors is what always has me coming back for more of their work.
Counting down the 12 days of Christmas, these horrific tales are loosely linked together by strange happenings originating from Laymon's Tree Lot, like mutated rats, guard dogs, and a possessed Christmas tree. Each story offers unique twists and brutal killings, as well as a host of characters named after people in the Indie Horror community. I even found myself meeting a grisly end in the very first story "12 Gremlins" which was a hoot!
Two of my favourites were "10 Children," where kids on a school bus are stalked by a blood-thirsty creature, and "3 Types of Acid," where a horror author gains first-hand experience on how to torture people.
Enjoy this great Christmas Valentine to Splatterpunk legend Richard Laymon. Clearly a loving and inspired tribute to the man himself, this collection is festive, gory fun. Richard would have adored it.
Definitely not for the faint hearted! We’ve got blood, gore, gremlins, perverted snowmen, demon dogs, evil elves, sadistic santa and psychotic humans in this xtreme horror take on the twelve days of christmas. Loved loved loved this! I really like how each tale is set in the same town and around the same Christmas tree farm so it feels they tales are all interconnected.
It was okay. I like the premise behind all the stories, but I wish more information was given about how everything came to be at Laymon's lot. It would be great if there was more of a backstory.
