Dean left everything he knew behind, the day he buried his wife and daughter due to his law enforcement career. The pain of losing his family is still too much guilt for him to bear. Now, as the lead man on a massive Colorado ranch, he lives a quiet, ordinary existence still trying to silence the ghosts of the past. When his employer starts to exhibit failing health and requires surgery, the nurse hired to help will shake up everything. Is there hope that his damaged heart might actually start to beat once again after all these years? Lexi is smart, sassy, and determined to be the best nurse, having finally fished her degree.
She was the primary caregiver during her mother's extended terminal illness and is looking for a new change. Moving halfway across the country for a six-month contract, she is hoping to pay down student loans with a huge salary, as well as catch her breath for whatever comes next. She had not expected to find a broken, gorgeous ex-police officer in charge of the ranch. The attraction is nearly instant for her, but the guarded man doesn't seem like he wants anything to do with her. Soon she is relishing her days working with rehabbing Rex, despite his predilection for pigs and other farm animals. A rancher's second chance romance A nurse's heart to mend A cowboy with a wounded past
A great read for lovers of kindle westerns, cowboy romance, historical western romance, sweet contemporary romance, sweet and wholesome romance or a clean cowboy romance
A heartwarming story portraying all the aspects of drama, suspense and romance. Dean leaves his life behind to escape the tragedy of the deaths of his wife and child. He escapes into a life of drinking until Rex offers him work on his ranch. Dean has decided to close his heart to love to avoid the pain of loss. Lexi has pain of her own and wants the job at the ranch to pay off debts and regain her sense of self after caring for her mother before her death. I enjoyed this story very much and all the interactions between the characters. Secrets abound within the walls of the ranch and these secrets threaten those that live there. Molly Maco writes well and spins a great yarn. Thanks Molly for a very pleasurable read.
THIS BOOK starts out well but is only really a tiny part of a larger story.
When I read a book or short story, I expect that there is a start, middle and satisfying finish. I do not expect a start and nothing else. Yes there are other chapters ahead, which I can't read, because I can not afford the high price this author set on her work, but I do feel very cheated as I was never, as a reader, told that this was the book format. Really, this is too bad of you, Molly Maco. This is the 1st bad review I have had to write of someone who writes well, but has managed to thoroughly alienate me.
We are left with a cliff hanger, and the next two books in the series are even shorter in length than this one. I’m sorry to the author, but I can’t see paying $3 for a book less than 30 pages long. I was enjoying the story, but now, I’ll never know 😢 Maybe they’ll come out on KU? (Hint, hint)
This was a good story until suddenly, right in the middle of the story with no warning, the book ended. What? So am I supposed to find the next book in this series, assuming it is a series. Or am I supposed to buy the book to find out the ending? I am really frustrated with this ending and am not sure I want to read anything more by this author.
When Dean leaves his job after his heartbreak of losing his wife and daughter, he just drives and drinks until he meets someone who puts him back on the right track. Lexus needs to find herself as well as pay off debts so this job would be the answer to everything. This story takes you on their journey, there is a cliff hanger ending.
I thought this was a well written part of the whole story but it leaves you wanting more. I will tell you if you start this book you will need to get the other 6 to get the whole story. This is quick and easy read. Just remember it is a cliffhanger ending. Honestly if if it had been a complete story I would have given it a 5 star rating
I am sorry but I don't appreciate reading books like this that end abruptly so if you want to see what happens (and you already know boy gets girl), you have to buy another book. I just don't. get
it. Just write a complete book. I'm a senior citizen who loves to read but has a limited budget for books. I doubt if I even finish the series.
I went in expecting a novella (a short story…short, sweet, done), but it’s more of here’s 10 chapters, then go buy 10 more chapters at a time kinda book… so while the storyline started good, there was an abrupt ending with no explanation (except Google and Amazon to figure out why)… In my opinion, I guess, it’s more like a novella series… just kinda bummed how it’s presented…
Here is a book that shows how one person who has helped another has a way of co.ing around to help others. I like the turnabout away this happens so many miles away and just when it will do the most good.
I was hooked from the start by the emotion and the suspense of the story. The author outfit herself on this one... Looking forward to see how the story builds up.
This is a really good story which I would have gladly given more stars but it just ENDS, yep with a cliffhanger and no notice it was like that. Really angry , and disappointed
Good story but disappointed to be left on a cliff hanger next two books in the series are even shorter than this one. Sorry but I can’t see paying £3 for a book less than 30 pages long. will just have to wait to see if prices drop or will never know out come
Sweet romance, BUT!!!! Short book and it ends like it's the end of a chapter. Left the story hanging. Not a cliffhanger, just not finished. Since book 2 is only 99 cents, I'll buy it. It IS a sweet story.
I would have given this more stars but I'm really getting tired of authors writing 30 to 40 pages with cliffhangers. By the time you purchase all books to make a story you're out $10 or $12 dollars to see it to the end. Just write one complete story and charge one price. Otherwise I would have loved this story!
