Thank you so much @indicacademy for sending this book across. Really appreciate and grateful for the noble work and initiative. Dhanyavada once again team !
Mr Anupam Kher's subversive brilliance shines in new and unexpected ways in his new book Your Best Is Today.
It talks about the life and its mores during one of the toughest times this world ever witnessed in the twenty first century. Initially, he presents about how life has been just like any other day before the coronavirus storm took over in the early days of 2020. He reveals about witnessing corona from close when his family members were affected. This part speaks how difficult it was even for a high profile family to deal with the own set of challenges covid bought.
Though the book proceeds in a pragmatic pace initially, as I read further, the author left hints of self lessons that I picked on. As the book moves forward, he interacts with various people from different fields to know how this pandemic affected them and their ways of coping up with the new normal. From overworked housemaker to a sulking teenager, from a doctor to wedding planner, he pens down all of their experience. The author then brings in a fresh perspective about how this phase reminded us that we must strive to find pleasure in life’s simplicity. It has also taught us the significance of the smallest of things we always took for granted, like friends, family and the importance of bonding.
There was hardly anything that a commoner like me could connect to. But despite this, the book helped me gain perspective on how consciousness is the need of the hour regardless of this pandemic. It greatly presents that with each second passing by, life is less predictable and exactly why self introspection is something to be reflected upon.
I would say that it can act as a guide to get in touch with your inner self and find solutions to the problems that arise with adapting to changes in life only if one tactfully picks on subtle lessons hidden underneath the author's words.

Very rightly titled Your Best Day is Today is a wonderful book full of wise words and wonderful takeaways offered to us through the anecdotes of the dynamic Mr. Anupam Kher. I feel this is the perfect book to read as this year ends.
The book is very tightly put together as a collection of five parts.
Reading through the book, I couldn't help but feel like Mr. Kher's voice was reciting the words in my mind. It truly felt like an elder of the house was imparting wisdom.
One of the best things about the book is that it highlights that celebrities, politicians, big personalities like us, are only human and honestly, it felt good to realise that I as a reader was not alone in having feelings of fear and anxiety about the world. Another great takeaway from this book was how it is so important to be grateful for the smallest and biggest things in life and how kindness can go a long, long way.
While coming to the last two parts, things felt a little repetitive still, I can't help but acknowledge how much I got from this book. Not only internal wisdom was imparted through this book but a lot of recommendations and tips on how we can reach out when we want to, how to help our loved ones when they are reaching out to us, and how to be mindful of the present moment were given. Making it a perfect read for this time.
The very last chapter and epilogue were strong and made my heart warm as I closed the book. The book is a must-read for all age groups I feel!

Your Best Day Is TODAY! By Anupam Kher is a book which he wrote explaining the seriousness and the experience of the recent pandemic COVID - 19 which was hit globally.
I know Mr. Anupam Kher has written 2-3 books in the past before this, but this is my first Book by him and I must say one thing - he is equally a great writer as much as he is a great actor. I liked how this book has turned out to be.
I loved how smoothly words flow in this book. The book is divided into 5 parts, starting about his story of how he was in New York for a shoot and was rushed to Mumbai in March. His thoughts during self - quarantine & how his family was affected by the virus.
The latter part talks about how we should be adapting to change and he has also given some tips on what needs to be kept in mind during hard times like a pandemic hits us. I have seen and heard some Interviews of Mr. Anupam Kher on TV and it's a delight to hear him.
We also see some different perspective of different people from different industries like Saina Nehwal from sport's, a wedding planner and how the industry is affected. The theatre industry, from a teenager and mom's perspective.
3.5 stars

Its a beautiful book talking about his experiences, lessons and positive takeaways that will help each one of us deal in the dark times of our lives.
Divided into five parts, it tells about how he decided to come back to Mumbai when His mother Dulari was tested positive, how she beats the CoronaVirus and a lot more. From adopting the change to conversations with ourselves to confessions of a teenager, this book has everything we experienced, what we are thankful for.
The smooth flow of words and gripping writing style with life lessons it's a book that one must Treasure.
It's a reminder that you are not alone and there is a way to make the best of the situation life throws at you.
I loved reading about how the experience was different for different people. The family time, the board games, homemade hot meals and the stories we shared, everything was a reminder that we should spend every single moment with our loved ones.
A good book.

The COVID pandemic has ensured a terrible time for all of us. Everybody on this beautiful planet has a story to share. Some tragic, some comic; Some tales of endurance, some of survival; For most, it is a duration of struggle, maybe at varied degrees.
In this light, the book chronicles on how one of India's rich and connected personality was affected. Well. The apt title for this book, could've been Anupam Kher's COVID diary. Indeed, there are some nuggets which highlighted Anupam Kher's role as a dutiful son and a family person. His concern for the well being of his staff and juniors are quite commendable.
His illustration of the experiences of a few well known people reiterate similar stories of endurance, challenges, forbearance across the social divide.
The book made for an overall light read. However, I was left wondering if the tales really required such a book!? Maybe a series of blog posts could have sufficed!?
Bottom line though, is there's no denying the fact - Your best day is really today!

Your Best Day is Today by Anupam Kher is the second book which I have received through the brilliant initiative of Indic Book Club . This book has been divided by Mr Kher into five different parts .First part of the book deals with how Mr Kher got to know about this pandemic . Furthermore how he and his family got affected with this virus and how they dealt with it physically and emotionally . In the second part of the book he talks about how to deal with the changes and its repercussions caused by this global pandemic . He gives many tips on how to survive this ordeal on a physical as well as the emotional level . Third part of the book which is the best part of the book is amalgamation of different stories of people of different fields and how they dealt with this global pandemic and how it changed their routine and life . These stories include the stories of a wedding planner , theatre artist , sports person , working mother , a hyperactive teenager , a grandmother and a doctor .Last two parts for me were quite repetitive where he talks about how he fought with the negative feelings and improving himself everyday . What I felt that the author could have given more anecdotes about his daily routine during the lockdown . The language is very simple and anybody can finish this books in 3 to 5 hours or 2-3 sittings .

6th Book of 2021!
When I was learning spirituality, just before all of us in the meditation hall were about to perform the 21-minutes session taught to us, we were told that each one of us will have different kind of experiences hence we need not fear if how we are experiencing the silence is quite darker or lighter than others around us. And it happened exactly, where few of us were crying, others were laughing, some were just silent whereas few others started talking to themselves like a maniac. I sensed something similar when we were in complete lockdown during the initial days of the Coronavirus pandemic. I felt as if all of us were experiencing the same thing but were having different feelings about it. Everyone I talked to told me something that I hadn’t thought or considered before.
Anupam Kher’s latest book named “Your best day is today!” published by HarperCollins publisher speaks about the same. Kher has based the whole book of 270 pages on his experiences of pandemic and talks about what he went through physically, experientially and internally. He tells how he had to go through some extreme emotional situations whereas simultaneously, he met few people who made him realize the wonders of life and how we can be happy and excited during such tough times too. The concept of the book is great as people who are really feeling low due to self-isolation or fear of death can find some great tips to go through the phase. Many people who stay alone or share room with people in another city due to work or studies also find themselves in a cocoon of loneliness and silent pain. Even such people would find a way as in how to look within themselves and internalize their emotions to create something good out of this situation.
Anupam’s writing style is very simple which will make it easy to read even for the people who are not very good with the language. As far as my belief goes, the book is going to be released in other languages too so that is not going to be a challenge any which ways. The flow of the book is maintained very properly where you are first introduced to the situation and what consequences it brought to the whole world. Then, author talks about how he started getting personally affected by it due to which he finally came back to his home. He then talks about how the whole humanity got together in fighting this invisible enemy which was causing havoc everywhere. Even though we know all the details but the narration by the author keeps you interested as if you are reading it for the 1st time.
Author then talks about how his mother and brother’s family virus infection and the challenges he faced in admitting them and keeping all of them emotionally strong along with keeping his own senses in place. He has conveyed the difficulties of everyone who saw their closed one’s going to hospital all alone making us feel helpless and lost. In the 2nd section, author talks about how everyone started adapting to this change of being at home and how “change is the law of life” started making sense to many of us. In the 3rd section, author goes ahead and talks with several people belonging to different fields and let us know how they fought against this situation in their respective fields or situations. It was a good insight knowing how challenging this has been in a different way to the people serving different ground of work.
Later in the last two sections, author finally starts opening his heart about how he internalized and went within to find answers of fighting with negative thoughts and bettering himself each and every day. He tells how he started doing things he otherwise could have never done in his daily routine. This comes as an answer to many people who have completely stopped themselves due to the virus. Author talks about the benefit of pranayama, meditation and yoga and how it is keeping him calm and happy in these difficult times.
He makes us understand how only relationships and people close to us matter when we fall in a situation like this and that is what we should concentrate towards. He mentions Sushant Singh Rajput and make us aware about the mental health issues too. Author also talks about how he started growing his beard to try something different which he usually can’t due to his job as an actor. In the end, author explains that death is a reality and once we realize that we are a mortal being, we become little more aware and alert about living in present and enjoying every day as if it’s our best day and also the last.
Overall, this is a very feel-good and positive book. If you have been reading many self-help and spiritual books recently, you might not find anything new, but you will still feel as if someone close to you is telling you about life. I got a grandfather feeling while reading this as my grandfather used to tell such facts while I sat with him during my school days. This is a must-read for people who are feeling low due to the pandemic and an umbrella of negative thoughts have covered them completely. I give this book 4 stars out of 5. I think I need to read all books by Anupam Kher now.
Thanks.

‘Your Best Day is Today!', is a memoir-cum-rumination by Anupam Kher during the tough days of the first wave of coronavirus that swept the world in the summer of 2020 and is still wrecking havoc more than a year later.
The book opens with the initial days when coronavirus reared its head in early 2020. The world as we knew came to a standstill. Anupam Kher was in USA and came back just in time before the lockdown was imposed. The first section talks about his experiences of witnessing corona from the closest quarter when his family members were affected. It did show that even when people have fame, respect, and contacts at high places, the emotions one goes through in these times is the same for everyone. I can relate to it as my family members got affected in the second wave. While I initially thought that reading this would depress me, quite contrarily it helped me in relaxing and I followed some of the steps that Mr. Kher took a year back.
The second section looks at how the world adapted to the ‘new normal’. The changes that were brought in by keeping distance, sanitizing everything, hygiene and healthcare becoming an important aspect of our daily routine. While this section delves with what we did in our interaction with the outer world, it also mentions how this time was a good opportunity for introspection and reflection.
The third section contains account of people from different walks of life and how their lives have been affected by corona and how they are adapting to it. From a theatre artiste to a wedding planner to a badminton player, from a stay-at-home mom to a made-to-stay-at-home teenager, from a grandparent to a doctor, everyone chips in with how they managed to survive through these trying times.
The fourth section doubles down on the introspection part. Mr. Kher discusses a unique experiment he did with his own self where the worldly Anupam interacts with the homely Bittu, his persona at home. It also provides a focus on the need of friends.
The last section is the part where he actually gives his message to the readers. Adapting to change, living life, being conscious of the present and maximizing ‘today’ is what Mr. Kher gives as a final takeaway from this book.
The book is not one where the reader expects the secret mantra of life to be laid bare to them. It is more of a personal account. The best thing that the reader can gain from this is that a lot of other people have gone through these times that they might be going. This book can be a marker on how to maximize the benefit to be gained form these times. Introspection, creating new bonds with friends and family, and being in the present are something that would hold them good in any such time.

The thing here, this time, is that this book by Anupam Kher surely deserves a rating of 4 stars but what disappoints or maybe confuses me is that this book was provided to me by the Indic Book Club and was the 2nd book received by me from them. This book in short simply consists of Anupam Kher's advice, experience, family bonding, friendly discussions with professionals, and the 2020 COVID lockdown crisis. The disappointing part is that initially I mistook this book for some book dealing with Hindutva or Hinduism described by Anupam Kher - keeping in mind his political standing- but I found nothing of that sort and that was what disappointed me the best, but if I speak solely about the book I was quite satisfied. Even though Anupam's personal experiences were quite limited and the rest of the book was his personal thought, his cinematic and a comical view of the world and people and lots of professionals describing their understanding of the pandemic and lockdown in the later chapters, what I found the most appealing was its writing and how I felt quite connected with Anupam Kher in his world. Although famous and having numerous credits on IMDb and having made quite a lot of money (Personal Assumption) he succeeds in connecting with the layman. His appealing and relatable experiences along with his informal writing style definitely makes this book a non-fiction "One Time Read."

Your best day is Today by Anupam Kher is a journey which all of us might be familiar with. It is a journey that we took through the pandemic.
From being away from our families, stuck in foreign lands, to reuniting with them Kher takes us through his initial days of the Corona pandemic which were filled with anxiety and fear. His mother and family contracting covid was the most unfortunate event of his journey. But the strength of these bonds have been refound by him through this journey which he calls as a way to a healed world. Kher sympathises with the underprivileged who suffered a lot in this pandemic. He at the same time tells us to look at the quality time we got to spend with our families. He talks about the changes that one went through; adjusting to work from home and socialising. He also talks about how deserted the cities looked to him which usually were a pleasure to look at.
With the pandemic we never knew what is gonna happen the next day. With this journey of Kher he puts out the message that what you have his today and we have to make the most of it.
This short book of his personal anecdotes, stories is perceived as if we ourselves have penned it. With Furture waves of the virus we sure have a hope in this book to look for the good and enjoy the day and people we have.

You hardly get an imagination about the subject of this book when you get your hands on it. The title gives a reflection of a something based on psychology with positivity and had someone told me earlier that it was in the backdrop of a pandemic, I would have failed to believe. This book traces the journey of the author through the CoViD-19 pandemic and deals with the intrinsic and extrinsic aspects related to it.
The author tries to look at the crisis from individualist’s (psychological) as well as social perspective and goes on to tell how every individual and the smallest of emotions matter. The book isn’t an extraordinary piece of literary writing and seems to become repetitive, but the repetition looks more of an attempt to reach the subconscious of the reader. It tells us about the associations that we share even with the strangers and how important they are. It explains the role of family, friends and people. The book concludes around the time when the first wave was dying down; and it very well communicates how living in present with a positive approach sails us through the toughest of hardships. Spread over 34 short chapters, the book is a testimony about the role of Indian culture and values in the socialization of an individual that help them face anything and everything in life with a smile on the face and gratitude in the heart at the end of the day.

when i was reading this book it felt like revisiting year, 2020, the pandemic year. this is most long uncommon event of my life so far and i wish no one would come across such a challenging period in their life. A lot of people lost their loved one, job and peace of mind during this pandemic year. this book takes us those lows of individual’s life and how they overcome from this challenging time. A set of inspirational stories, from different segment of society, expressed in the series of events of last one year and how those event turns in to learning for them. the stories of new normal and adjustment made by all of us to adapt new normal described in very short and crisp way, such as wedding planning or online meeting, webinar or parties. the writer, primarily focussed on rich or higher middle class segment of society in its stories, this could have been wonderful if he can add few stories from poor or lower middle class section of society as well. i love the format of book. the book is organized in stories, small in size that really help me understand the intent of writer.
Really nice book, gives positive vibes when you go through it. All in all the author has done a good job by writing such a nice book.

'Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.'
Your Best Day is Today! book by Anupam Kher is full of positivity amidst the real tuff lessons of life. He, the author is already a man who defines success and glory through his hard work and achievements, talks about the pandemic of the century, COVID 19, which brought the world to a complete halt. I am super amazed by the book, divided into 5 parts Kher talks about the challenges and his journey for a few COVID hot months in the world.
In the book, he writes about his journey back to India from New York just before the lockdown, how his family was hit by the virus, how he tried to keep himself calm, and much more. The interesting part of the book is when he talks about the experience of his friends, as to how they dealt with COVID. No doubt we lost many lives in this pandemic, but few losses like the death of Sushant Singh Rajput left some insightful impacts on the mind of people.
This book is a read for all those who are trying to find out some motivation for their life post-lockdown. You will learn a lot from it.

Your best day is Today is a an experience and journey of Anupam Kher . It is basically a journey that he and everyone went through when a sudden pandemic halted the world .
From being away from our families, stuck in foreign lands, to reuniting with them Kher takes us through his initial days of the Corona pandemic which were filled with anxiety and fear. He talks about how his mother getting covid was one of the worst experience of his life and how he felt low. But he also talks about how the situation taught him a lot. Kher sympathises with the migrant workers and the underprivileged who were the worst affected in this pandemic. He at the same time tells us to look at the quality time we got to spend with our families. He talks about the changes that one went through; adjusting to work from home and socialising. He talks about the cities which roared with crowds suddenly stopped and everything was changed .
With the pandemic we never knew what is going to happen the next day. Giving examples about uncertainty in life which everyone learnt during the pandemic Kher he puts out the message that what you have his today and we have to make the most of it.

My favourite actor, as versatile, as versatility can be. Maybe i am bit biased, From Dr. Dang to Prakash rathod. I admire your hard work a lot. An ardent fan. Though am not eligible to review your work, still I'll try to sum up in a few lines.
