I’ve Always liked Jen’s ways of getting her point across-she doesn’t try to sugar coat things or talk down. She just says things as they are, and usually in a way that sticks in your brain because you can relate to it in your own way. It’s the same thing with this. Although I didn’t realize until I got into it, this is a companion to her book with the same title. This is kind of a Devotional in a way, but not your typical one. It is a weekly chat with a friend who puts a new topic out there for you to think on and then find ways to integrate into your life. I know several women, myself included, who could benefit from this book and it’s companion. There’s places to take notes and the chapters are short so it doesn’t feel overwhelming.
Thanks to Thomas Nelson and Netgalley for this Arc in exchange for my review.

Always been a big fan of Jen. Love her books, the audiobooks especially as hearing her words, right from her own mouth, can't get any better. I read this one as I was gifted a copy via NetGalley. LOVED it.

Although this journal is meant to be explored week by week, I like to read these books from front to back before I start the weekly program. In this case, I don’t own the companion book, so I immediately read it from cover to cover. This companion journal is largely a guided manifesto to becoming more unabashedly authentic. While there might not be anything groundbreakingly new in this journal, the reminder to pay attention to the precepts are useful, practical, and refreshing at times.
A little about me. I’m inching closer and closer toward the age of menopause. And I’ve already started noticing changes. The laughlines have appeared. For the first time I’m carrying some weight around the middle. But the most pronounced change for me is that I’m feeling…well, fierce. I’m less timid about life. It isn’t just my body that has changed, in many ways the core of who I am is evolving also. So, I picked up Glorious You: Your Road Map to Becoming Fierce, Free and Full of Fire, with the intention of journaling through some of these changes. I especially appreciated the prompts to “connect with someone who understands your unique season and challenges,” and to revoke your “problematic yeses.” There are 50 other motivational prompts to enjoy and benefit from. If you enjoy light-hearted journaling to uplifting prompts as a weekly positive affirmation, this journal is for you.

This book was a mixed bag for me. None of the advice was earth shattering; some of it was eye-opening, some common sense, and there was a bit that didn't apply to me at all. I liked all the acceptance and body positivity the author is trying to reinforce in a society that values thinness and youth above all else. (That standard leaves a lot of us out!) I also like the fact that she encourages honesty and saying no when necessary and not necessarily being all things to all people. This is written as a journal and she has a place at the end of each chapter to add your own thoughts and what her advice will look like in your life, which could be very helpful to some.
However, nowhere in the book's description did it say this was a Christian book and, as a non-believer who was raised Catholic, I was taken aback and, honestly, turned off, by some of the religious references. In one section, she tells us to invite Jesus to come help us write part of the journal and, in another, suggests discussing an issue with your pastor. Yet, I was encouraged to see a chapter entitled, "I believe in spiritual curiosity," but this turned out to be her telling us that God will answer all our questions and that he won't be uncomfortable with us asking. (So, basically, it's okay to change religions or ask the hard questions of your "pastor," but not okay to be an atheist. Okay, thanks.)
Thank you to Goodreads for the book in return for an honest review.

GLORIOUS YOU: YOUR ROAD MAP TO BECOMING FIERCE, FREE, AND FULL OF FIRE.
BY: JEN HATMAKER

How many of you incorporate keeping a journal in your life? This is something that I have been encouraged to do. With this inspirational companion book to Jen Hatmaker's book titled, "Becoming Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire," Jen has written another standalone book to encourage us towards self-growth, Evolving into our authentic selves, and introspection. She is positive and I absolutely have found so much value in this latest offering by her. She takes each week in which she empowers the reader towards self growth by writing down in your own journal, (nobody else has to see it) prompts to reach self actualization. That is really where we are vibrating on our highest frequency.

I loved this message so much that I am going to read her book that I believe she has generously shared excerpts from to create such a powerfully unique tool towards self examination. There is some great food for thought written in this guide to journal answers to some really fantastic questions about how we are living our lives. Some points that she makes that stand out for me is how I can love and embrace my body more and accept it, better said appreciate what it has allowed me to accomplish. There is a money making industry out there she reminds me that buys into how to look younger, for example. I have wrestled with buying products to *attempt* to look more youthful and have personally been hard on myself for what is natural in life--that growing older and looking so is a negative. When instead I am grateful to have lived this long and to be in good health, (knock on wood).
Another stand out concept she challenged me is to ask for help from someone and in asking be specific in what the ask is. I have been blessed with some authentically generous friend's who I have been helped by their ability to listen and not judge. I want to extend myself to being a better listener. I want to comfort the people in my life that I intuitively feel could benefit from my service to them.
I can't praise Jen Hatmaker enough for her 52 weekly journal prompts. This is do able because it is only once per week versus everyday. I am grateful for discovering this Author's wisdom and am seeking out her previous work and will continue to follow whatever she writes. I didn't expect to be so impressed by a book that encouraged people to journal--But I am. I loved it!

This book was received as an ARC from Nelson Books, Thomas Nelson in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I was waiting for a long while for a book like this. I loved how Jen Hatmaker constructed this book and the language she used especially 'so let's break this baby down." That definitely put a smile on my face. Reading this book was like having your own personal life coach working with you through the tough challenges in life. Finding and accepting your truest self is the key to happiness. I also agree with Jen's strategy with writing your thoughts and feelings because it gives you a visual on what is currently going on in your mind and you having the power to change it if you are not happy. I know a lot of people in our library community that would benefit from a book like Glorious You and I can't wait to recommend it to them.

We will consider adding this title to our Self-Help collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

This is a guided journal companion to Jen Hatmaker's book Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire. While this companion goes perfectly with her book, it is not necessary for you to have read it in order to get the full benefit. In this companion Jen share's excerpts from the book that lead to journaling and thought prompts for the week ahead in what she refers to as 'noodle on this' and 'marching orders'. I do love Jen's quirky sense of humor and true to her other works, it shines through in this one. The companion is set up to be used weekly, with one section per week. As a person who can be overwhelmed by the idea of daily journaling, I appreciated the weekly approach and found it to be very attainable.

Thank you to NetGalley and Nelson Books for the digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

"Glorious You" is a 52-week journal study of you! Jen Hatmaker offers a new prompt each week, with a thought, a few questions, and a challenge for how you will take on what you learned. Each week is a new way to look at how to grow yourself whether it be in how you handle things, what you believe about yourself, what you believe in, and interactions with others. Hatmaker asks hard questions that force you to think. Overall, this study/journal is an excellent resource to find your true self and all that you were made to be! I'd highly recommend it to anyone, but especially to women who feel like they are just floating around, or feel like they aren't as special as other people, or don't have as much to offer!

Do you know who you are? Do you know what you want? In this book you will learn about yourself by doing a journal with her guidelines. It’s using her topics to finding out about yourself. It’s amazing what you can find out about yourself. You take the time to sit down and look upon what you are ignoring. One gets so busy that it’s easy to lose yourself. It’s important to know the real you. I did find out that this is a “sequel” to the book “Fierce, free, and full of fire . . .” . I still think it’s not absolutely necessary as it seems that there is information from the first book. It’s a good book that will definitely help you to find the you that you truly are.

Disclaimer: I received an arc of this book from the author/publisher from Netgalley. I wasn’t obligated to write a favorable review or any review at all. The opinions expressed are strictly my own.

I love Jen Hatmaker's viewpoint and voice. Her humor speaks to me and she uses it to tackle hard subjects. I believe this ARC was the workbook for her new book, Glorious You. It was filled with insightful and meaningful questions that women can use to become more authentic. I read through it cover-to-cover but plan to go back and use the questions to journal and ponder. Jen's trademark honesty and vulnerability combined with her wisdom and thoughtfulness made this a gem of a book. I really enjoyed it.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Oh glorious, glorious Jen Hatmaker. This wonderful woman's books always make me feel like I'm ok for being exactly who I am, and I'm worth it. As is she. Her honest, yet uplifting way of showing the reader's flaws while also celebrating them are wonderful. She has personally had a very tough year and yet that seems to make her more relatable. Do yourself a favor and read this book.

I have been doing this one for a couple weeks now, but read it all first. I don't have the companion book, I'm on the waitlist at my local library for it. I love Jen Hatmaker and really have felt connected to her through her many books, this workbook is no different.
