Who is Calle Jaye Brookes?

Calle Jaye is fun, playful, ironic, professional and sophisticated. She’s super-educated in the field of fiction and would spend most of her time walking around in “Book World” (or”eBook World”).

Does she have slight control freak tendencies? Yep. Why else would she chose to self-publish?

In her day job she gets to read romance novels. In her night job she gets to write them!

Her favorite color is bold purple. She likes rock like Kid Rock, Shinedown, and Nickelback. Add in a bit of Anastacia and Adelle, too.

She collects rocks. Watches crime dramas. Abhors Lifetime Movies and Titanic (especially Leo…) and refuses to read or write about sparkly teen vampires.

She’s married to a cop she strongly suspects is a vampire. They’ve made vampire babies, too.

They live in Indiana with their vampire relatives and their vampire dogs.

The Blood Warrior

the reason I only gave this book a 2 star rating. Too many people to try to follow and not enough information to stop them being just a jumble , not sure why every family member needed to find their life partners and the terminology wasn't intuitive

So... the beginning of this book should mention that it is the third one in the series. I did not know this until I finished it. That being said I will probably not go back to read the others- perhaps I'll read the summaries.
This book had way to many characters and relationships to follow. I'm amazed that this book isn't the 5th of 6th one considering the amount of relationships occurred in a short amount of time. I'm also curious how it is not the first. The book made it seem that once Mallory was kidnapped everyone else met and not before. So are the 1st and 2nd books set during the same time? I was so confused.
It did not help that they were constantly changing how they referred to people and their names are all weird, so they are very hard to keep track of.

That was not the only issue I had with this book. There were so many editing errors. I don't know if that was because I had an outdated version, but there were page breaks that cut into sentences and a severe lack of necessary commas, as well as so many sentences that lacked in clarity and I had to rewrite the sentence in my head.
There were also times in which questions were asked and then ignored. Not to mention that at one point Mal finds out her sister is pregnant and she's shocked, but then when people come into the room she is like "my sister is pregnant and blah blah blah" and they make no suggestion they heard the first part. What's worse is that Mal is also now chill about it and does not bring it up again.

I will say something nice because it had a good general story and world. I liked that it didn't go into instalove and it took a while for Mal to accept what happened and the situation she is now in (I think that's why the rest of the girls in the book having instalove is so weird and off putting).

In summary, this book could have had a higher rating if it was edited properly, situations were reworked to flow better, and I was made aware that it was a third book in a series and it would be beneficial to read the others first.

Unlike the first two books, this one was a little too long. I loved that this book actually took the time to explain some things and have character development along with the ability to actually see the relationship grow between the main characters. However, I felt like there wasn't really a clear plot in it. So many small plots started and ended in this book that it felt almost like multiple stories in a single book and it would have been better if it was more focused. Because of this, the book tended to drag and by the end I was finding myself skimming the pages rather than fully reading because it started to feel never-ending.

Still, this one was probably my favorite in the series. It was well-written, had real character development, and didn't feel rushed at all.

This Paranormal Vampire Romance is splendid. Aodhan Adrastos, the greatest warrior the Dardaptoan have ever known, kidnapped Mallory Taniss on a mission of vengeance against her grandfather, only to learn she is his Ranji, destined mate. Protecting her and overcoming her ill perception of him are now his most consuming missions.

The vengeance operation is ill-conceived. It does not seem to be in character with the Dardaptoan people. Thus, it is nothing more than a plot gimmick used to bring the couple together in a hostile manner. Accepting this condition, the rest of the story makes remarkable reading.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Happily Ever After. Romantic. Scary. Tragic. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

On the fence about this one

There are moments that just made me cringe in this book, so I can’t wholeheartedly recommend it. There is plenty of action and violence, vampires, werewolves, etc. in case you can ignore the abductions and some creepy lines, this might be of interest.

Mallory and Aodhan

Mallory had been beaten and stabbed by someone trying to get back at her Grandfather. Aodhan kidnaps her for the same reason, but realizes she's his mate. He then cherishes and respects her.
An intriguing paranormal love story with twits and turns.

Good story, more questions and mystery added. Some confusion due to editing issues, but not enough to detract from the overall story.

Stealing a woman to make her yours has no appeal. I shelved the book.

Hated it. Begins with woman being kidnapped. Even though a warrior, main character still weak. Wasn't up for that kind of book.

I am so hooked. Have got to know who set the bounty on Mallory and the others. I thought it was Nalik, but obviously not. Cass isn’t afraid of him at all. What a bastard Leo was. What all did he do to his own grandchildren? So ready for Cormac and Joselyn’s story. Bet there will be one for Rand and Jierra and Nalik and Cass as well.

Mallory Taniss n her cousins r kidnapped by the Dardoptoan's. Turns out that Mallory is Aodhan's Rajni (lifemate). Since she is human he has to turn her. This is the beginning of the struggle for her. Learning to coexist with a species that despises the Taniss family for the atrocities her grandfather inflicted upon them. Not only that, but someone has put a hit out the Taniss family. 100k for males n 1\4 mil for females..
There r ten houses in the Daharana ( royal seat). If something should happen to the current leader then the next in line from one the other houses would be next in line. Since her cousins have also taken mates Mallory or her offspring is now officially at the top of the list for Ascension of the Daharana.
This story also contained elements from Romanian folklore about Beansidhe, demons, Loupoux , n Elhydra. It turned out to be a fascinating tale.

I really enjoyed this fourth book in the Dardanos series. Aodhan is an uber alpha. No shut off for this guy. He also is super protective and patient with his mate to be. He falls hard and deep for Mallory and will do anything to win her over. Mallory is strong-willed but a bit brittle. She has suffered in the past and it has caused her to build walls around herself. I had a hard time with all of her vacillating. One moment she seemed to be willing to let go and give a relationship with Aodhan a try and the next second she's fighting against him again. After all the back and forth I expected a bigger, more defined moment when she finally accepts Aodhan. Still, overall, the book was good.

Nice quick read. I found out after starting it that its part of a larger series / set. I will probably read more. The only complaint was that there wet so many characters at times it was hard to keep them all straight. Plus doesn't anyone think it odd that opposing families are suddenly thrust together on multiple fronts? The whole business about fate and destiny was also getting on my nerves a little by the end as it implies we would all just be pawns in someone else's game. I think we are worth more than that.

Continuing enjoyment...

The story continues as we get to know more of the characters. I do need to add to all of my reviews so far that these books could use a bit more editing. Punctuation is missing and words not in the right order in several instances. While not insurmountable, it happens enough to be noticeable. And the continuing use of the word "female" as in "his female" does begin to wear. Still, I like the storyline and will go on to read the rest.

Aodhan is fiercely protective of his female, “tell me, woman. So that I may set my men to find him. So that I may kill him for what he has dared to do to you.” It's clear that Mallory's man will do anything to make her happy, "she actually sounded enthusiastic about it. Aodhan smiled and wrapped his arms around her. “I can always have the kitchen remodeled to suit you, kitten.” I liked this book, Mallory was a strong woman that didn't mind going toe to toe with her man.

I liked the story but I don't know if there would be more enjoyment of the book had I read the previous ones first. This is the first book I read of the series and did not realize it was the fourth book. I'm not sure if my rating reflects my lack of saturation in the world or true opinion of the story itself.

I'm in a mixed mind about this book. On one hand I quite enjoyed it and the plot was good. But on the other it bored me and all these different people were shoved in my face. Perhaps it's because this is the fourth book and the first I've read. I'm unsure. I want to carry on but I also do not want to.

No flow

It really lacked flow. Like it was translated from a different language. Or the author wasn't sure how much to cut out.
