"Emotions are the center of a person, but not the center of the world. There is nothing in the center of that. So don't let your feelings control you Akutagawa. don't change that beast within you. Stand on your own feet and rely only on yourself. You have to stay cool and tough, or you won't survive.".
Why is this so underrated? I can't describe the feelings, since the start of reading this manga I've been bombarded with a lot of damage to my feelings. there is so much going on that I really can't handle, it's just a lot. I haven't recovered from the last chapters of bungo stray stray dogs, and now I'm reading an alternative world right after that? which is even worse. Akutagawa is still being treated unfairly that man needs some appreciation mister Kafka. Atsushi better comes up with a plan with Akutagawa to just kill Dazai off. I was wrong that I liked Dazai at first but for now and after the last chapters that I've read I want nothing but him dead. Why is he so loved? he sure is doing great with being the mafia better than Mori but thanks, he is the enemy for real. (and of course, we have to wait for the new chapters to release so we can decide about his fate more thoroughly).
Akutagawa what are you doing spending time with Kenji, farming, and taking care of the kids for oda? also you literally wore a suit
No one likes paperwork except weirdos!!! The same goes for housework! Hahaha! 😁
(1) Anyway...the long-suffering Kunikida is here again. 😁
(2) I am glad to see Yosano-sensei so happy, and we all know how to keep the lady in a good mood. 😁
(3) The artwork is a bit different from the original manga series but it's still elegant! 😁
(4) Akutagawa v.s. Oda's army of adorable (?) orphans.............I guess you can tell who won in this one...
(5) ...yes, Oda is alive in this version...
(6) Surprisingly I like the Akutagawa + Atsushi's first meeting scene. I like that in this version of the story, the two of them had for once sat down together and talked like friends.😁
(7) I can't stress this enough but Kunikida in this series is smoking hot.
I think this volume has some great moments. Farmer Akutagawa, him bonding with Atsushi over how much their lives sucked, him being big brother -in his way- to Oda’s kids, Oda -his existence- and him being a better mentor than Dazai was in the actual canon.

This series continues to be fascinating! In particular, this volume focused a lot on Akutagawa, and in a way that I found really interesting. He still has the same rather abrasive and distrusting personality as in the main series, but since the focus of a lot of this volume was him forming positive, genuine connections with those around him, it was incredibly interesting to see how his personality manifested in a healthier environment. Honestly, so much of this volume was frankly just fluffy. I immensely enjoyed watching feral cat Akutagawa (affectionate) have to learn how to exist in a completely different, happier environment than that in the main series.
But my favorite part of this volume was the inevitable meeting between Akutagawa and Atsushi, which was just so incredibly...sweet. It was a complete contrast to how they met in the main series. I really love their dynamic in any form, and reading about a pair of narrative foils bonding over shared experiences was wonderful.
But of course, that made what happened next all the more impactful...
Anyway, this volume was fantastic, and I am so excited to continue!
i love this story so much and the art is amazing. akutagawa’s moments with kenji at the farm were so fun. i love seeing him interact with other ada members in this universe. this is such a sad & intense storyline, but i’m very interested to see what will happen when dazai and akutagawa finally meet again. atsushi is very cool in this 10/10 character. also odasaku <3 underrated but i love him

Really enjoying this spin off series. I love seeing more of Akutagawa and how he interacts with the other characters of the detective agency. Lots of really hype moments.
Seeing Akutagawa act like a farmer with Kenji was so wholesome. I was going to give this 4 stars since it was a little boring...but then he shared a bonding moment with Atushi....(which is interesting because I'm so used to them hating each other lol) Also, Oda seems like a good mentor for Akutagawa. I really hope Oda doesn't die in this alternate version of the story since (*spoilers*), he died in the main storyline/original story. He's also one of my favorite characters and I wonder if in this version he also wants to become a writer, similar to how he takes care of some orphans/little kids in both versions of the story.
Anyway I can't wait to read the next volume, especially since this one ended on a cliffhanger.

Akutagawa farming with Kenji, and Akutagawa looking after Oda’s “army of children”, as he would put it, were all so cute. Now Akutagawa is out for Dazai’s blood, and I’m excited, yet slightly nervous, to see how it all plays out. If Akutagawa is able to take Gin back from the Port Mafia, will she even remember him?
