A truth imprinted onto my skin—its sharp vines digging into my flesh as our bond strengthens with each shallow intake of breath my love takes. Her life is intertwined with the devil, a man who hungers for depravity and death, and yet, I bend my knee for her.
Only her. Always her.
She is mine and I will kill to protect. Kill to own her.
Gabriella Moore will never leave me. Not by choice or circumstance.
Elena M. Reyes is the epitome of a Floridian and if she could live in her beloved flip-flops, she would.
As a small child, she was always intrigued by all forms of art: whether it was dancing to island rhythms, or painting with any medium she could get her hands on. Her passion for reading over the years has amassed her with hours of pleasure, but it wasn't until she stumbled upon fanfiction that her thirst to write overtook her world.
She’s a short and sassy Latina with an adorable pup, a kiddo that keeps her on her toes, and a husband who claims she’ll cause him to go bald prematurely. Lol

Well, well, well... This is my first time reading anything by Elena and I sure did pick a good one to start with! There are elements of the story that I don't read (like ever), but I didn't mind it at all. It brought so much to the story. Riveting and juicy, had you lusting for more. It was a dark romance that played with your mind oh so good. I was guessing so much in the book - then the read took me for a spin and totally changed lanes.. pleasantly surprised! Very well done!
There is lots of plot and character build up that you need so it's understandable. It wasn't so bad that you felt lost, just intrigued. The second half had things falling into place and you are like 🤯😵😲- What the HECK did I just read?! How did she do that??!! Bravo!!
Theodore Astor, oh Theodore Astor .. you were something. Mysterious and possessive. Alpha to a "T". He stole the show for me. I feel like Gabriella Moore got lost a little along the way. I enjoyed her more when she "dealt" with Theodore. Solo she was too skittish, but with him - she was spunky and driven.
This is a book that you need to dive into without knowing much. Don't read reviews or spoilers. Just open up your mind, heart and soul... be open to the journey this story will take you on and enjoy!

STORY: I had mix emotions with this book. From the first page/chapter, I was reeled in and intrigued the way the author caught my interest. I appreciate the suspense and mystery of the plot/twist as well as the main characters. I was 80% sure I knew what the twist would be. Theo was appealing, and I fell in like with the way he seemed obsessed and in like with Gabriella. Gabriella had qualities I liked about her. However, at times it took her forever to see what’s in front of her. I guess that’s a part of the allure of the mystery.
With that being said, the first 30-40%of the book I was in like. I found my interest dwindling because I personally felt, what was needed in the beginning was already established. Of course later on new characters were introduced, but do not feel some things were needed. Then at 79%, we get to the core of this whole mystery and twist. That’s when my interest was activated again.
Although there is a paranormal twist, I would call this book paranormal adjacent. It’s not hardcore paranormal but enough to wet the appetite the last 20% of the book.
CHEMISTRY: Sexually, the build up was satisfactory, but for me took too long. Once they ignited I was pleased.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS: Not much secondary characters that I gravities to.
Tero - liked him
Elise - nails on a chalk board
OVERALL, my rating was for the first part and last part of the book. I really felt I could have enjoyed this 100% as it did not need to be a slow burn especially since it was not a cliffhanger. I can only speak from my personal preference as other readers may think differently based on their preference.
✰✰TRIGGERS:
****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I especially liked the mystery with this one the sense of what we weren’t being told and I did start to read between the lines and guessed some of what was occurring with this. The idea was fabulous very imaginative and I’m being vague folks this one's best read blind trust me on that. It was also well written and managed to draw me in and invest me no issue.
I definitely liked some parts of this more than others I thought it could have got to the point quicker and I don’t understand why Theo was holding back on consummating especially as these two had so much chemistry together, I wanted more of that vibe with them. I also adored how possessive and into gabby Theo was.
I loved the reveal but did think this but was maybe rushed slightly I would have preferred if this had been expanded on a bit more maybe some of the unnecessary centre stuff removed and gabby be made aware of the crack much earlier in the game. That would have definitely upped the game and made this even better.
Genre-wise this was a bit of a mish-mash part romantic suspense, stalker and also paranormal it was very diverse. Overall this one was really unusual and different and it captured my attention for that reason alone this was certainly a unique read.
What a unique and entrancing little PNR this book turned out to be! I went into it with the knowledge it was dark with paranormal elements.
Let me tell you the story Elena M. Reyes weaved within these pages was unbelievable. Little clues are dropped along the way. The POVs were distinct and very important to the plot. The flashbacks and dreams were crucial to the development. You'll think you've got it figured out then something else happens. I couldn't put this freaking book down. I was confused, then confident in my reasoning, then questioning everything. And also, let me just tell you when all those clues are revealed, I was clapping at that Finale. Such a fantastic twist that was both believable in the PNR world and also perfect for laying down the foundation for BOOK 2 of this duet with a separate couple. Yassssssss. 🤘
I loved our MMC, Theodore. I loved our FMC, Gabriella. I loved the side characters, the setting, the details. The steamy scenes were steamy (yo, THAT ONE SCENE THOUGH 😳). I was like dayuuuuum.
I'm seriously obsessed. AND THAT COVER? 😭😭 I think this one is going to be in my top 10 of 2021, cuz I loved it THAT much.
WOW! This first book in the dark suspenseful PNR/shifter romance duology was a big creepy surprise? I wasn't expecting a romance with PNR vibe from Elena, but I should have known, that she will kill it with this genre too.
This book is not for faint-hearted audience, but that's never the case with Elena's stories 😉 The creepy-crawly feelings that follow the main character and the nerve-wracking and goose bumping atmosphere from the first page on, makes this book unpredictable, mysterious and gripping experience.
This book starts like a creepy stalker horror-thriller and takes a twist to a complete different level of crazy in the PNR world.
This dark PNR romance is full of anxious energy and a macabre, disturbing situations and I loved every single second of it. It's of course also a wonderful timeless love story. A never-ending love story... 🥰❤
Gosh! I love this book and can't wait for the second book 😍
Little Lies is HERE! This book was a passion project that overtook my world and I’m so proud to share with everyone. Happy Reading! #deathisonlythebeginning #darkromance #PNR

I really really did. I walked into this because of a one star review that said it was super smutty, too dark, and I was here for that. But this wasn’t that. They only get to 3rd base by 58% of the way in… that’s not a smutty book.
But what we did get here was confusion. The characters don’t have any concrete personality or thoughts and even line to line are wishy washy. This is a book that actually would have improved with being told over shown because then maybe we would be able to see how the author was constantly connecting unrelated points that made little sense to the story or one another.
The storyline is flat, there’s no gravitas because everyone is flat and we don’t have any stakes in people or plot line. There’s no reason for anything happening that the reader can see and there’s barely any foreshadowing to the horrid left turn this takes.
I’d have preferred if it had stayed a stalker romance. Where king could have just killed teddy and stolen the girl. That’s the dark romance I thought I was walking into.
You taste like Heaven and sent from Hell. Which one are you, sweet girl? My prize or my incarceration?
A mysterious story that will keep you guessing till the very end. Unfortunately it’s missing some development and structure, the supposed dark element is more gore than dark, I know I’m picky when it comes to dark so I won’t dwell on it. That said the gore in this story works really well giving an edgy bite to the narrative pace. The PNR element only comes up towards the end, a strategy which, in this case, works and it serves its purpose in the plot.
The story at first is hard to get into, once it picks up it is easy to read, however, the dialogues are very repetitive thus slowing down the actions. Both main characters say “okay” more times than it’s humanly acceptable. Their interactions are short and redundant therefore I wasn’t fully captured by the storytelling, the narrative rhythm sometimes slows down the progress of the story. The resolution in the last few chapters isn’t well proportioned to the rest of the book, it felt rushed.
Gabriella is rather dull, she acts like a poor imitation of a damsel in distress and lets life events direct her life with no input whatsoever on her part. I would have appreciated some spine. I felt all the attention and focus on her were a bit overrated. She was given more importance and value than she was worth. It also felt a bit too much how everyone was obsessed with her seen how there is really nothing special about her. I have nothing against the character, I just think the author should have exploited her potential better, she could have a been a real heroine.
Theodore is a real leading character, mysterious, handsome, determined in achieving his goal. I appreciated his passion, loyalty and dedication. The chemistry between him and Gabriella is undeniable credit goes to the author in her ability to portray such strong attraction, it’s a shame the steamy moments were few and far in between, the way the characters behave doesn’t always match how strongly they feel towards each other. I found some statements a bit incoherent with Theo’s alpha role. Their exchanges are exceedingly slow burning, I won’t lie, I got bored sometimes, yet at the end it all becomes clear. So if you ever feel like I felt, trust the author on this, as she knows what she’s doing.
This is book one of an interconnected PNR series, it’s a standalone and it ends with a conclusion, no cliffhangers will hinder your path.
What a ride! And can we talk about this GORGEOUS cover!
I’m calling it now, this book is DEFINITELY on my top books of 2021. It was THAT. DAMN. GOOD.
Trigger Warning: This book is dark, there is blood and some not so nice scenes. There is also snakes. If those things don’t bother you, then proceed and enjoy!
The beginning starts off a bit like a horror story. We are introduced into the night terrors Gabriella is having. She’s been painting them, a faceless man in a gothic bedroom covered in blood.
Her best friend Elise sets her up with the exclusive Astor Gallery to showcase her paintings. Immediately Gabriella is drawn to Theodore Astor. Then things start getting crazy.
I couldn’t put this book down. I just HAD to keep reading to find out what was going on and who was who. And when you find out, holy cow! It’s a twist you don’t expect!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars. Elena M. Reyes was a new author to me and I’m so glad I received an ARC of this book. It was dark, seductive and steamy. Can’t wait to read book two!
*** Thank you to Elena M. Reyes and Grey’s Promotions for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. ***
I was so confused, yet intrigued. I was so into it, yet so shocked! This book was a total surprise, and what an amazing gift it was!! I loved every single line of this book, and fell In love with Theo every step of the way! I don’t usually read fantasy, and I really thought this wasn’t it, but I didn’t regret it! It was well written, all the characters were fully developed and you could even make conspiracy theories or hypothesis along the way, and I love doing that! Theo and Gabriella were definitely meant to be, and I can’t wait for Isabella’s and Xadiel’s story so I can get my fix on them ❤️ This was an ARC, which I was happy to review and read!! I’ve never been happier to recommend this book to anyone. If you’d read FBAA, you’ll definitely love this !!
This book took me by surprise. I wasn’t expecting this to be paranormal. The stunning cover grabbed my interest. The blurb hooked me. I am darkness. I am sin. That is exactly my kind of book.
This book is undeniably a super slow burn. That’s not normally my jam but it worked here for me. The story needed this pace and needed to unfold the way it did.
I’m not going to drop any spoilers in this review. I’m a spoiler queen. I love spoilers. I actively look for them and sometimes put off reading books until I can find adequate spoilers. I know this isn’t the norm. If you hate spoilers skip this paragraph. This part of the review isn’t for you. It’s for my fellow spoiler seekers. Go in blind. I know! If you thrive on spoilers that’s a hard ask but some books are better when you go in blind. This is one. So from one spoiler lover to another, my advice is go in blind.
This book is safe, there’s no cheating and an HEA. There is an OW who tries to interfere but hero is completely uninterested and shuts her down hard at every attempt. The hero is completely dedicated to heroine and remains entirely faithful despite specific circumstances I won’t elaborate on.just know he’s all in on team Gabriella and never sways from that even when things are against them. It’s really romantic.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was my first read by this author, but between that cover and the blurb, I was really interested! And I did really like the first bit.. until the PNR aspect came out of nowhere and it just threw me for a loop. After thay it was hard for me to connect to the storyline or our characters. The whole paranormal side just seemed so out of place, and honestly made me not want to read it.
I liked the first half of the book, but the sudden direction it took just wasn't for me.
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions.**
This book was totally not like anything I could have expected or anticipated. The blurb pulls you in with dark and possessive hints. This book is not for the faint of heart, it sings to the monsters that go bump in the night and the nightmares that leave you gasping for breath in the morning. Through the first half I almost got lost in where the book was going and had so many questions but Elena did not disappoint and left me needing more of this world she created in Little Lies. I love books like this where you enter with an open mind and all the secrets hidden in shadows slowly reveal themselves to an epic work of the written word!
I went in to this book semi blind knowing it had pnr elements and was a dark romance so was excited to read this.
The story flowed quite well and had your mind going as to what was exactly happening here.
I found it slowed down between 50-75% then the last 20% bumped it back up. The ending was the best part of the story for me. All the pnr action is happening there and I wished it was a bit heavier with that earlier on.
This is a good read and is the first in the series so there is more to come on different characters.
Just like all of her other books I’ve read, Little Lies by Elena doesn't disappoint. It's my top read for May 2021
"The day Gabriella Moore stepped foot inside my home, asking for help, I found my angel. My perfect prey."
I was intrigued by the blurb, cover and teasers but it didn't prepare me for this dark, twisted, angsty, slow burn story! This story was phenomenal, it pulled you into Gabriella's world of nightmares, how when she meets Theodore Astor she feels a connection like no other and how they're connected and all they mystery surrounding these two... when you think the story is going one way bam something else happens and you think wtf... btw you can't help fall in love with Theo! Elena has done a remarkable job telling the story of this hero and heroine, the storyline was written perfectly very developed!
If you like dark, horror, twisted, pnr, suspense, angst and mystery! This is a MUST READ! Told in both POV!
“I am darkness. I am sin,” he says against my skin, his tone gravelly. I tilt my head a little more to give him better access , and I’m rewarded by a hum of approval. “I’m the devil incarnate and everything you shouldn’t want, but I am yours, Gabriella. Today. Tomorrow. Always.”
(3.7 Stars) When Artist Gabriella Moore meets a mysterious man named Theodore Astor, it sets off a series of events that will change her life. She is paranoid and has strange dreams...but are they dreams or something else? This is difficult to write a review for as I don’t want to say any spoilers. It’s better to go in blind. This did take a while to get into the story as it slowly unfolds to reveal the big picture of what’s happening towards the end. A unique story with a big twist. Told in multiple POV
We follow the point of view of three main characters:
Gabriella 24 POV chapters Young artist with a talent for edgy-morbid paintings and who likes to watch criminals/murderers/predators documentaries and series. She is haunted at night by very dark and bloody dreams and even the medications given by her therapist do not help her rest at night.
What I think about her
Theodore 11 POV chapters Rich owner of the Astor Art Gallery . He is tall, handsome, has dark hair and beautiful amber eyes. And the moment he meets Gabriella, he knows he has to have her. He is protective, possessive and always very sweet to her, giving her everything and anything she wants. He commissions seven paintings from Gabriella to show in his gallery, depicting the seven deadly sins.
What I think about him
King 5 POV chapters The creature that stalks Gabriella and haunts her dreams. He is part of the mystery, trying to give Gabriella the pieces to the puzzle she is unknowingly trying to put back together.
What I think about him
POINT MISSED
The Seven Deadly Sins commission
Elise Scott I’ll say it…the plot suffers from Elise’s presence. Her character was all over the place. Something that really REALLY bothered me was
The TWIST Don’t get me wrong, I love me a good twist and was really eager to get to it, after reading so much positive reviews about it. The twist was a little bit of a letdown for me because the author didn’t really give the tool needed for the readers to realize Oh shit! So that’s why this or that happened?! Mind blown! Instead we were kind of left blind to the mystery. It was only at the near-end of the book that the whole twist was revealed, with all the elements from the past that left me cold. I just felt like I was thrown informations all at once, without warning. I always feel like it is unfair when the author does that. This is why I was disappointed by it.
CONCLUSION I’m being very critical about it right now because I’m upset at the ending. Not satisfied at all about the plot twist and conclusion but I’ll have to admit that I still had a good time reading this book. Especially the beginning and middle part. Even if certain things were lacking, I really enjoyed Theodore and Gabriella together and I don’t regret picking this book up, going in blind. I just feel like there is lost potential on certain aspects of this story. I won’t discourage anyone from reading this book, hell! Go and read it yourself to make your own opinion. Many people are happy with the ending and twist and you might be one of them too!
This was a nice good read for me and I like a good mystery in a story. I’m not going to go into too much plot detail because I liked starting it blind and figuring it all out for myself, and I think most readers would be the same!
Theo…. Yes PLEASE. I don’t know why but I like an obsessive guy in romance books 🤷🏼♀️ Gabriella, on the other hand, took wayyyyyy too long to see what was right in front of her the whole damn time. 🙄
I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. I was very nervous once I started reading this book because I realized that it wasn't what I normally read. So I kind of freaked out a bit because I have always loved Elena work. Once I got further in I realized I never should of qurdtioned her writing, because she made me devour this book. It's gory, it's unpredictable, full of suspense and questions. I love Theodore, he's so much more than What you see pretty much everyone is. I don't want to give anything away.
This is the first book I’ve read by Elena and it did not disappoint. I didn’t know what to expect other than it would be -
Dark ☑️ Suspenseful ☑️ Thriller ☑️
It was all these things and more!
I didn’t know what to make of Gabriella. For the most part, she grew up alone. She’s naive, innocent, coddled, always on edge, and always questioning her own sanity. But even with that, she has moments where you say “Yes, you go girl!” She surprised me at times because instead of cowering, she stood up taller.
To say I was shocked, is an understatement. You know there’s something more going on, but you can’t quite put your finger on it. You question everything and everyone. You get pissed off at Gabriella. Shoot, you get pissed off at everyone.
And then finally, you experience that blissful moment when an author makes your head spin and you look like an emoji (😳), thinking WHAT!?
"But know this, just like I'll devour you, I'll never leave your side. You'll own me as irrevocably as I'll own you. "
I rarely suggest going in completely blind but I can practically promise - You will not be disappointed doing so here.
If the blurb has your attention then trust that the story? The unknown that lies just out of reach? The voices you swear you know but can't place? The macabre mind games that leave you questioning is it the truth or that gentle slide right before insanity?
The combination will draw you in Keep you on edge Constantly guessing and asking
Flat out - One of the, best reads of 2021! A spectacular mix of suspense, horror, and romance Don't pass this one up!
I took a chance on getting this ARC through Greys Promo because it seemed intriguing and I wanted to spread my wings into other troupes.
This is a new to me author and also, I’ve never read a vampire novel. I didn’t know it was... paranormal?? Is that right? Maybe it’s called shifter? Gosh, I don’t know what the right term is. I’m sure someone will help me with the correct terminology.
The first few chapters felt like a horror movie. I was scared and it was GREAT!! Going in, I thought it was Heaven vs Hell; God vs Devil. Nope! I was wrong. So, so wrong.
It’s a slow burn with lots of angst. By 50% I was screaming for them to kiss because I needed it! Lol This novel is dark and hot with lots of twists and unexpected surprises. It’s really well written. Transition from chapter to chapter is smooth.
I’m inclined to read more from this author just so I can keep exploring in this troupe.
It was a Mindf**k and Gabriella thought she was crazy but Nooooo she was not!!
From the very first meeting Gabriella and Theo felt a connection and they are good together.
Theodore was dominating and sexy and wanted to protect her.
The story was exciting and I kept waiting for something, anything, because I was seriously invested in this to the end. I WAS HOOKED! Seriously, I can't say anymore but It was so worth reading. 100%
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Love it!!! This is a dark read with the H being the possessive and protective alpha man that he was is. The H see the h and knows that she is his, and he does everything he can to protect her from everybody. Love how the H is a bad guy to everybody else but to the h he is sweet and caring toward her.
