This book is part of the Cocky Hero World Books and was a fantastic read that once I started I couldn't put it down and it deserves every single one of these five stars. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I will defiantly look out for her books in the future because I really love her style of writing and this book is totally epic that you will truly love.
Mel is such a strong and sassy woman and I loved her totally and how the author brought her to life. She didn't take his crap and she is also dealing with a lot and has a lot on her plate with everything and all the demands on her. Eli is a man that is very sexy and sometimes cocky and he always gets what he wants well that is until he meets his match with Mel. Eli is the egotistical exec that is very cocky,bossy, cheeky and is also a real family man who takes care of the people that he loves. When these two meet they have some hot chemistry and even when times passes they were always meant to be.
I loved how this author has written the characters and I loved the chemistry and banter between them both and they are both sizzlingly hot.
This book will have you laughing out loud in moments and I enjoyed reading every page of it. The reader will become totally invested into this story this world and I couldn't put this book down. This book is a page turner and I really liked it and I highly recommend everyone read about this cocky hero's life. I love the cocky hero series and all the worlds that these authors create and this book is a great addition into the series. This is a new to me author will defiantly look for more of her work in the future.

This is another wonderful addition to the Cocky series. Melanie is a college student paying her way by working as a nanny and serving coffee. Mel and Eli have a brief meeting in the coffee shop. When he propositions her and she shoots him down that is game on for this cocky smug playboy.
Mel cannot believe the audacity of this man. He is so full of himself...yes he is hot but he is also a jerk. She leaves him standing on the sidewalk with all his smugness and when she gets home she can't stop thinking about what if.
Eli is only in town for a few days and the sassy beautiful barista has caught his eye. One night that is all that is promised but it leads to much more than Melanie had anticipated . Then fours years later and they once again find each other and so much has changed but not the attraction and chemistry they felt for one another. Can she giver this egotistical man a chance and hope that he won't let her down. This couple had great chemistry, wonderful supporting characters and where a whole lot of sexy!

my first time out with this author and I am giddy with excitement! This story had my attention from the very beginning. It was sassy and sexy and sweet and fun! Two opposite people that just fit perfectly! Great story with great characters! WELL DONE!

Well I read this book.
2.5 stars.
I was able to finish it out of sheer curiosity. Spoilers ahead.
.5 star more for making me finish it. Can you tell how excited I am about this?
Almost DNF'ed it, the author lost me at the beginning when the hero announces at Starbucks that he needs to get to the very front of the line because he is important and says "I am an Executive". WTF -who really says that? Did the author not read it out loud and realize how that just did not flow?
The whole "Cocky" series may be ending for me, they seem very hit and miss. I was not able to enjoy the style of the writing, it felt rushed yet full of too much detail and major insta- lust. The dialogue was choppy, but points for some real emotion and a few phrases of wisdom.
Ultimately, it all felt like everything wrapped up too nicely. And why 4 years? For them to stay faithful to each other, that's not realistic given his man-whore tendencies.
I could do without the "I hear his voice and my thighs clench together" at the VERY FIRST meeting. I can see that after spending some time together but not at first contact. A mans voice can give chills or tinges (at first meeting) but it just didn't feel realistic.

Your books never fail. Somehow, someway I get so zoned out in your books I forget what's going on around me. This book had me laughing, got me mad and also made me cry. I loved it!!! You truly are an artist Humphreys!!!! Never stop writing. You truly do have a gift!!!

When Mel spends the best night of her life with the egotistical jerk she met at her coffee shop, she can't get him out of her mind even though they both knew it was only supposed to be one night. So that's why when he literally runs into her again at the coffee shop weeks later, they spend another night together. Unfortunately, this time, it doesn't end so well and Mel's left with unintended consequences and Eli's left with a lot of regrets that make him a very unhappy, grouchy af man. But an unexpected reunion could spell a second chance if Mel lets him back into her life, forgives him for his horrible behavior the last time they had seen each other. Will she ever forgive him?
Egotistical Executive is a great addition to the Cocky Hero Club. Eli is definitely an egotistical exec, with a smirk that works like crazy on Mel. But Mel is feisty and independent, and she makes him work for her attention. I do wish she had made him grovel a lot more at the end, but aside from that, and I wanted them together as a couple for longer, but aside from those two things, I really liked this sexy second chance story.

Mel is trying to balance college, working and some family drama so when an entitled man decides that his time is more important than anyone else’s the sparks fly. Eli is used to having whatever he wants whenever he wants and he has decided that he wants Mel but only for one night.
Years later destiny brings them together one more and neither of them have forgotten the other but their reunion wasn’t without its challenges as their lives aren’t as simple as it was when they were together.
Mel is feisty and resilient and once Eli acknowledged his feelings for Mel he was all in and proved that he was exactly who she needed in her life.

Egotistical Executive is one of those books that is just a great easy feel good story.....ok there is slight hiccup along the way but the story has been put together so well that when we fast forward half way through the story to 4 years later it just seems right for the book.
I love a 2nd chance romance and although I don't know if you would exactly call this story 2nd chance as Mel and Eli only spent a couple of days together before the 4 year gap to me it was a 2nd chance. For Eli who in fact is everyone of the words that define Egotistical - he is bossy, smug, self absorbed (for his work) and he most definitely is SELF-CENTRED he wasn't expecting on a business trip to be so blown away by the girl who served him coffee but he doesn't do relationships just one nigh stands. For Mel she is juggling college with work and a mom who is hiding something; when she meets Eli she thinks he is not only Egotistical but an Egocentric a****** that doesn't mean she doesn't found him hot and the good girl needs a little light relief - they never swop names!
Fast forward 4 years and by chance or by fate Eli and Mel meet once again but a lot has happened in 4 years but the one thing that hasn't is the chemistry and the magnetic pull between the two has not dimmed over the years!

Mel is juggling college and working. So when she met Eli that did not go over well. She really didn't like him but she couldn't deny he was HOT.

Speechless! That is all I can muster up at this moment.
Seriously, I wasn't sure if I would enjoy reading this book BUT I absolutely LOVED IT!
I enjoyed it that much I read it in one sitting. This book was beautifully written.
This book will have you hooked from the first chapter. Word of warning have some tissues handy.
This book has the right amount of banter, whit, charm, friendship, family, drama, emotion and love.
I did not want this book to end. I hope this author will give us a book telling us what happened with Cass, Zoe, Devon and Rhys.
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would.
I believe that this could be the first time reading a book by this author.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book for an honest review.

AMAZING!! HOT!! MUST READ!!
Eli may be an egotistical executive but he is a strong family man. Then you have Mel who's father throws money at her rather than spend time with her or talk with her. I honestly wanted to slap the man for how he treated his own daughter. This book was so well written, that I could feel each of the emotions the characters had. The chemistry between Mel and Eli is off the charts hot 🔥 This is the first book I've read by this author and I'm now a HUGE fan!! Stop scrolling through the reviews and get your copy. You will love this book and won't be able to put it down until the end. Then you'll be begging for more.

She's trying to make it through college and stick to the plan then he walks into her coffee shop and all bets are off. He has had a rough couple of days when he walks into for coffee and sets his eye and other parts on the girl behind the counter. What happens when you don't follow your heart because it's against your rules. This isn't an immediate hea. They both will have to know more than nick names to make this work. The heart knows even when the head wont listen and this Egotistical Executive is going down.
Great read from this author who stays true to form with her characters, wounded, jaded, discarded, they all have a heart and they all fall hard. Perfect for the Cocky Hero Club.

Egotistical Executive was my first read from K.L. Humphreys and it was so freakin' good!! This story had all the feels and I loved Mel and Eli, granted I didn't much like Eli at first, but then neither did Mel...there was quite the spark between them and Eli was really attracted to Mel because she didn't take any of his shit, and she gave it right back!! Will Eli be able to change Mel's opinion of him? Is Mel the one woman who can bring Eli to his knees and make him want more? You'll just have to read this awesome book and find out!! Oh, and you'll fall instantly in love with Ethan...this may have been my introduction to the world of K.L. Humphreys, but it won't be my last!!

These Cocky Hero Series are such a joy! I am finding wonderful new to me authors that I may not have had the pleasure of otherwise reading! K.L. Humphreys is now on my list and I will be looking up more of her books!
Mel and Eli have a chance meeting in Starbucks and after a not so pleasant first impression, Eli, who isn't used to being rebuffed, has to rethink his strategy. He is not familiar with having to work to get the girl, and this gorgeous, feisty woman he wants. Only in the city for the night, he just wants a no strings hook up. They are both wildly attracted to each other, so Buttercup and Egotistical Executive have an explosive night after which Mel sneaks off in the morning.
I loved the chemistry between these two. The duel POVs let us see the conflicts in each of their minds and how they affected one another. I loved how Eli searched Mel out for more than a one and done, when he never does that and how how his brothers realized his feelings when he still denied them. But I was not a fan of his actions and I was #teamMel. She was quite a girl and I was so proud of her.
My heart broke for Mel's circumstances but also rejoiced with the love and support from her friends. Seeing Chance and Aubrey so integral to this book was wonderful. I love seeing old friends! When Eli is given a second chance with this amazing woman, I was front row to watch him do his best to prove he was the best for her! This is another good book in the Cocky Hero Series and I give it 4-1/2 STARBUCKS!

Eli first encounters Mel at the Starbucks in LA where she works. He convinces her to come back to his hotel that night for a one night stand and they decide not to exchange names.
He's back in LA a couple weeks later and hangs around the coffee shop hoping to see her. They hook up again and it does not end well.
Eli returns to his home in Seattle and is hung up on her for years. Despite the awful ending and limited interactions, Mel is stuck on Eli for years but has no way to find him.
Finally at an event in LA 4 years later they run into each other again. I won't give away any spoilers since it wasn't mentioned in the synopsis and I haven't seen it in any other reviews, but it wasn't surprising.
This wasn't my favorite in the Cocky Hero universe. Eli could have returned to LA at any point to find Mel but just simply chose not to. It seemed unrealistic, even by romance standards. He was supposedly in love with her all those years (even though he knew nothing about her) but did nothing.

Melanie is working hard to get herself through school and to try to live a better life. She is passionate and has been through a lot. When some jerk comes into the coffee shop being all demanding she may think he's cute, but his attitude is a complete turn off. Eli is only in town for a few days to figure out if he and his brother's should take a deal that will make them more money. However when he walks into the coffee shop the girl at the counter makes him pause. He doesn't believe in fate, but boy does he want her. These two have some quick fun and then nothing, now years later they run into each other, but it's Eli that's about to get a shock of his life. Can Melanie keep her calm and give Eli the truth and pray he stays? Find out what happens with these two. I will say I fell in love with them both.

Eli has a business he in Seattle that he runs with his brothers. He heads to California for a business proposition. This is where he meets Mel. Mel is a student at UCLA. When these two meet Eli messes up by offending her. However she soon meets him again which turn into dinner and then some steamy hot nights.
Well this story was really good. I love that Eli is not perfect and the way their first encounter was awful and so bad. But fortunately luck was on his side and soon sparks started to fly.

The Cocky Hero Club Series seems to be a bit of a hit or miss for me. This book started out as what I thought would be a miss due to the opening line in Starbucks in chapter one. Eli is an entitled and arrogant man, the complete opposite of Mel. She is trying to work her way through college. He is rich and entitled and use to getting any woman he wants. She doesn't do one night stands. Eli only does one night....ever. This is a delayed love story but once Eli realizes she is the one he is all in. Can Mel see past his cocky exterior and believe him when he says forever? Great read!

This is my first read by KL Humphreys and she did the Cocky Hero Club World proud!! I started this book at 10:00pm and finished at 12:30am when I should have been sleeping, but I was in too deep to STOP!!!
Eli Egan runs a business with his brothers is Seattle. A business proposition brings him to California where Mel is attending UCLA and living with friends. What could have been a cute meet is ruined by Eli acting on impulse and offending, although intriguing Mel. Circumstances have their paths crossing again and a dinner turns into an incredible night neither can forget. No names, just one night turns into another round weeks later. Mel is emotional dealing with family issues and seeks refuge in Eli. But, once again Eli let’s his ego rule his brain and sends Mel off abruptly and it leaves her with thoughts of ever wanting to see him again.
Fate has other ideas and when they see each other at an event 4 years later, they have much to talk about. Eli has made his mind up that he is going to fight for Mel, but Mel isn’t convinced that easily.
This is an emotional book, but KL writes it so lovingly that although we want to strangle Eli and hug Mel, we root for their HEA. And, boy is it one!!! Eli is one hot piece and Mel made such an impression he can’t stop thinking about her and it consumes him. Their chemistry is palpable and burns off the pages. Ahh- so good!!
I loved the Chance and Aubrey crossover and how seamlessly they fit into Eli and Mel’s story.

Egotistical Executive is another book from the Cocky Hero Club series and this is one of those feel-good second chance reads.
Mel is a girl working in a coffee shop and trying to get through college when Eli walks in. Being to hotshot that he thinks he is, he is arrogant and demanding but Mel isn't one to cower or bow down. She sasses him right back and that's when sparks fly. She doesn't normally have one night stands with men but something about him draws her.
After one night stand, Mel ends up pregnant but not knowing the name of the Egotistical Executive, she is left to raise the child on her own. Eli has never forgotten about the barista he met, but never being one for relationships, he knows he can't return to LA to pursue her as he can never give her what she wants.
Four years later they both run into each other at an event. Not long after, Mel confesses about her son and how does Eli respond? By being an arrogant egotistical jerk and not believing that the child is his. So what will happen between these two? Will Eli come back to be a father? Will Mel forgive him for his actions?
This story was a great read and once again, we get an appearance from the Australian Cocky Bastard Chance.

Awesome story
This was an awesome read. I loved the fact that Mel and Eli meet and didn’t give names knowing it was going to be a one night thing. I had a feeling that something would happen and she would have to find him I just didn’t think it would take so long.
I loved how things turned out in the end. I did cry at times but everything happens for a reason.

Melanie is a woman with a huge heart who has some heavy baggage on her as she tries to navigate life without her father's help while trying to figure out what her mother's hiding. Things take a more complicated turn when she comes face to face with the sexiest, but rude and entitled Eli, who decides he wants her in an instant. They hook up, then he goes back home and she goes back to her life. A short time later, he's back, so they engage in some more sexy times but he treats her like dog dodo afterwards & I wanted him to pay. Fast forward 4 years, and the journey really hits it stride since fate saw fit to have them come face to face again, and man, I would have been still enraged with him but remember what I said above?! (Melly is just an all around great person) However, that doesn't mean that she'll trust him, or will she?! What a great story between Mel and Eli. Eli is every bit the egotistical make and Mel has gone through so much. When these two meet again secrets come out and the attraction is still sizzling. Absolutely loved this book.

Mel is done with college and Eli has moved to town. They meet up at a fundraiser that she’ll attending with Aubrey Bateman. Wouldn’t you know it, Eli’s friends with Chance.
Eli was one self centered guy! Not surprising, held arrogant and egotistical. These two were still drawn together. But will Mel’s secret pull them together or push them apart? Only a second chance can help them figure it out. For all his egoism, Eli fell in love with her and truly wanted to hive Mel the world. This was a quick read that kept me turning pages until I reached the end.
