This was an ok series for me. Sadly not a favorite. It’s like I love these authors separately but together I’m not sure I loved their blended personalities. The humor within the book is what I struggled with the most-particularly their pet human zombies. Maybe now was just not a good time for me to be reading this because a lot of it either had me rolling my eyes or came off as pretty juvenile. By the end I finally had a grasp on a few of the guys but probably only 3 out of the 5. The storyline was just not overly thrilling for me and I think I needed more of an epic climax or plot than what we get. As I was finishing all I kept thinking was how much I’d rather be reading Lucy's story and I’m super pleased to see her own series is in the works. Will def be checking that out upon its completion 😈😈😈

4.3 stars.
This was a bit anticlimactic.
Really nothing that I was hoping would happen, happened.
The plot resolved just so easily and with so little fanfare…I wanted a Little fanfare. Plus the villains were so easy to guess and the FMC just kept brushing her suspicions off. It was a bit too much.
The relationships were underdeveloped and there wasn’t a lot of time spent getting to know the men.
The sex was super unsatisfying. No true group scenes on page, only time they happened they were only just mentioned in vagueness that they happened.😒
And that whole vague mentioning thing didn’t only happen with group scenes, it also happened with individual activities too. So, though there were a few sex scenes that we actually got to be a part of, it felt like it was mostly fade to black type shit and I’m not a fan. Also the men are crazies and each of them seem to have a certain kink that they’d love to explore with the FMC, but all we got was very vanilla. So that was disappointing.

I don’t know.
It wasn’t a bad book. It just didn’t give me what I wanted and everything just felt rushed and like the authors were hurrying to finish scene after scene so they could get everything done and finish the book faster.

🤷🏻‍♀️ It just wasn’t my favorite, and I think it could have been better if there was more of it.

This was much better then I expected it to be.
I loved the ending but I think it needed more. This was a great way to end the series. I'm kind of sad to see the end of it but I can just reread it!

I loved this series, BUT

As a Christian, I felt uncomfortable about some stuff in this book. Now, I’ve read many fantasy books with demons in it, and I can always separate fantasy from real life with no issues. I have never felt uncomfortable with one before. This is just the first one where I had issues with it because there was some mocking of God in it. Many times in fact. This had started out as a series that would go on my favorites list and continue to be 5 star reads. But then it just got to where I felt uncomfortable and CONVICTED for reading it because of the blatant mocking with comments and gestures toward God. I started to DNF it, but I decided to finish it since I hate doing that to any book. So that is why it went from 5 to 3 stars. That’s just a big no-no for me. Had I known beforehand, I wouldn’t have started this series. All the previous demon fantasy books I’ve read haven’t done that so I was okay reading it.

The story picks up where book 2 left off, Katrina is freaking out about her brother being gone, and the demons are right along with her. She’s also dealing with Kastro’s betrayal. This story felt a little bit slower to me, there is a lot of them trying to figure out what is going on, but a lot of the solutions just happens. Even then figuring out who was behind the attacks, was an accidental overhearing, instead of them figuring it out. I also kind of wish we got a little bit more about Katrina’s power. Akor is one of favorite psychotic heroes, and he has a few great moments here too - but I also loved that we got to see him be vulnerable with Katrina too. I did like seeing the glimpses into their lives we get after the showdown. Also, the Lucy and Adam booger conversation was great! I kind of hope we get to see Adam and Katrina pop up in Lucy’s series :)

Loved this series!

This was a great wrap up to this series! Definitely had some twists I wasn't expecting, with a great cast of characters. I loved that it wasn't everything I was expecting, but still fun. I enjoyed the humor, and the way it ended was super cute. Can't wait for Lucy's story!

I’m certain I’ve had issues in the past, because I don’t understand how I once loved this book.

I was in the mood for an easy read, and I saw this on my kindle, and I remembered thinking it was good. And I gave it four stars. I repeat, whaaat was wrong with me??

This isn’t all bad. I liked her friendship with Lucy, and I liked where the book started with Kastros’ betrayal being revealed.

But I don’t like the writing. Every time any of them have a thought about literally ANYTHING, their brains takes a side road for several paragraphs before they have to force their minds back on the matter of hand. It was exhausting.
And any time they would have a serious conversation someone would say something that took away the seriousness of the matter, or the inner monologue would contain something, often, sexual that was completely out of place.

Adam. What is there to say. I would say I was happy when he went missing, but they spent all the time thinking about him, crying about him, raging about him, and talking about him.
I mean, is this supposed to be a story about Kat and her love interests being together, and fighting together, or is it a story about Adam’s road to a happy little family? Because I swear he was always there and I just wanted him to go away, because I didn’t care!
And I did not feel any warm fuzzy feelings about them adopting him, and calling him their son?? I get she raised him more than her parents did, but I didn’t like how they changed a sister-brother dynamic into a parents-child thing.
What, is he supposed to call them mom and dad now?

Lastly. The zombie dogs. I can’t even make a joke about it because it was straight out disgusting from start to finish. I felt that way back when they brought Jason back in the first book. And I felt it even more strongly when they brought William back in this.
In her inner monologue Kat actually said “William will have a home now - and he won’t have to strive after trivial things like being the “most popular” in order to feel loved.”
You absolute psychopath.
William may have strived for people to like him, and been an ass about it, but he was a seventeen year old kid who was murdered. And that bitch brought him back to be a mindless horny mess who humiliates himself by doing degrading shit and getting off on it.
And does that mean she would like to be brought back that way if she is ever killed? At least she won’t have to worry about things like achievements, and actually living a life right? I can’t express how pissed off I was when I read it.
Let’s not even get into Jason and the bottle or whatever it was, and how they were laughing in an affectionate way as it was all happening. Honestly I was so disgusted I just had to skip over it.

Go read something else. This book talks a big talk about free will, so use yours to read any other book.

Meh

I loved the first books but this one was a let down, the storyline of Kay hating Kas for trying to kill her was lazy and hypocritical, when I’m the first book she was eager to kill the center before she knew it was herself , she forgave raz for treating her badly before she knew about being the center but yet she can’t forgive kas for doing something before he even met her even though she agreed with his reasoning before she knew herself was the center ? Or can she only be mad when it’s herself in the hot seat?.
3/10 for this book but the others are a must read .

i skimmed a fair bit. the writing style just isn't my cup of tea, and i think im gonna try to avoid these authors from now on..
some plot stuff missed the mark for me too. like the zombie-dog-men. a guy was killed and the h was like "we need to bring him back, he didn't deserve to die". and im like... so he deserves a life with zero dignity, behaving like an actual dog ?? hmmm... i don't know if it was supposed to be funny or something, but it just seemed excessively cruel.

Well, the series has ended. I cannot in good conscience say that the stakes were high. They weren't. But not every book series, even if it's a fantasy, has to have big stakes in it to be interesting. As per usual, I was writing down my thoughts as I read. Here they are:

You'd be right to assume that everything I didn't mention, I liked. Especially editing. It was pretty good, as far as I, not a native English speaker, can judge. It's somehow a rare thing nowadays. I liked the story, the characters, the world, the pace. It's definitely not a bad series by any means. It's more logical than some of the more popular books in reverse harem genre, that's for sure (not me, staring with judgement at Payback Princess by C.M. Stunich, haha).

Book 3 of this trilogy really pulls at your heartstrings and adds in a ton of laughs! Like I giggled in books 1 and 2 but there were a couple moments where I was full on belly laughing! I think when Katrina realized who her friend truly was and how the demons were shaking in their boots with how casual she was with her. So good!

I thought the revelations were done really well, like I had an idea who the bad guys really were but I didnt see how they implemented their plan and hid in plain site. That was really refreshing and made me gasp once the pieces finally clicked in place. The authors did a great job weaving this world together and the associated plot and relationship building. I am kinda hoping Adam will get his own book one day, or we get some backstory on some of the side characters from this series. I think the only thing I would say is a negative is that the overall demons vs angels was lost (I mean it started to in book 2 and it got worse in book 3). I guess it made sense with the plot and twists but it was emphasized a lot early on and that kinda just got dropped to the wayside. I also will say that the one character needed to earn Katrina's forgiveness I thought got off a little bit on the easy side but I understand the past was a long time ago. I also thought the sexy scenes were done tastefully/right amount with the big chunk of plot and reveals to get through. And the ending was 😍😍😍

I enjoyed the concept of this world and series, and am definitely going to check out these cowriters more in the future.

Narration was just as good as book 2, will be listening to more of these 2 definitely (they are on my automatic narrator list already haha). I loved the change to one of the side characters (the human pets are hilarious and awesome hahaha), so many giggles from their antics. I love how psychotic some of the demons are. The emotional range of the guys improved as the story went along (and they learned to love) and the narration helped paint that picture/bring it to life.

Where the second book was clearly an in between book, mostly building the relationships between the characters and helping us to get attached to them, I was very looking forward to this third book. The cliffhanger of the second book promised us some amazing angst to come and there were also a few revelations changing literally everything. So, since Wednesday is my day to read non review copies I knew I had to read this one first.

This book is a rollercoaster from start to finish. Due to the cliffhanger of the previous book the book starts with quite a few angsty chapters. Kat has lost her brother and has no idea how to find him or how to get him back and on top of that she has to deal with a mate who had once upon a time tried to kill her, which changed her entire life AND therefore who she is or could have been. And May and Denton don't solve these issues easily. It all takes time.

Of course, the final answers to a lot of questions didn't come out of nowhere. In the second book I already started sensing that some things really didn't seem right, so I had some inkling where we had to look. However, May and Denton did have a few surprises up their sleeves and I really really should have seen them coming, because the hints were all there! And those are the kind of surprises I love most. They are prepared, they are built up and they make sense.

I have to admit that for me that happily ever after eventually felt a little dragged out. I know that I'm the exception. I know that most people want to spend as much time with the characters they've grown to care about as possible, but for me it doesn't always add much. It was all cute, of course, and it did give me that warm and fuzzy feeling, but it still felt like a too big chunk of the book was spent on the happily ever after.

However, this book makes me really excited to read the Christmas story! I can't wait to properly meet the characters involved!

Solid ending to a very solid series! I love the writing duo of Katie May and Ann Denton. They have a unique and hilarious take on RH high school romance.

Book 3 picks up right where book 2 left off – Fallout from the team’s trip to heaven and Adam being missing. The main story and meat of the book is solving the mystery of who’s out to get the murder and why. Which does get nicely wrapped up by the end of the story.

Along the way, we get to see some old friends, like Lucy and the human-dog-boy Jason, and some new ones, like Joy and her murder - I loved that the ladies tied in their Christmas story into the main one!

The FMC
Over the series, Katrina has grown and shown some great character development. It’s actually quite nice to see the comparisons from the first book to the third book. Her relationship with each of the guys and the group as a whole also feels like it’s evolved organically over the series.

The Guys
Akor will always be my fave. Katie has a great way of writing psychos. Akor and Kastros are the stars in this book, to be honest. The other guys also shine, but there’s something about the psycho and the redemption story that sucks me in. The group dynamic and family that they’ve built the whole series is nicely wrapped up as well.

Akor – Mr Psycho Pants
Kastros – Mr Strong Silent
Zolroth – Mr Sexy Suit
Van – Mr Sexy
Raz – Mr Sexy Leader

The Smut
Loads more smut in this book! As Kat has gotten more confident in herself and her demons it comes out in her sexy times! We def get more varied scenes from sweet bedroom time to public office orgy. I’m here for this and so should you be.

All in all loved the series and would recommend it to anyone who wants a good laugh and some interesting characters within the harem and world. I will say I can’t wait for Lucy’s book!

Beautiful Ending to an Amazing story

FMC: 5
Men: 5+
Storyline: 4+
World build: 4+

As far as stories go I found this last one in the darkest flame series to be almost perfect! Truly the only thing that is lacking as that I want MORE!

Let's talk about the FMC, Katrina, you see so much growth and backbone in this girl this book that you can't help but be proud. The way she has adjusted to the demon world is awesome to see.

Now for the murder of demons. . . they are all panty melting-eye exploding - deliciously violet gorgeous demons that you can't help but lust after. I swear that they all give you the warm and fuzzies as well as a "wet" problem in the pants.

As this is the last book the story is wrapping up and these two authors do it right. All the feels and conclusions happen now. I will admit that I did not see the twist but it makes so much sense now. I will say that I wanted, since its the last book, to see them have kids and see how those demons do as daddies to babies but I have a feeling we might see more from this group in other books connected to this world.

As for the world building I have always said that this was a very original idea of heaven/hell and what goes on in hell. My only complaint is that I want more.

It looks like these two ladies are going to continue with a side character in the same world so I feel like I am getting my wish for more. Go get this series you won't regret it!

Bad ending to the series

Book, 3 of this series was so disappointing. I mean, it was even more disappointing. There aint probably anything I've read. Thus, far from Katie, may. I'm sure I don't know. It was just, it feels rushed anticlimactic, as far as the bad guys, but I'm good, I'm starting to figure out that that's a lot of the books so far, none of the books except for a couple have actually lived up to what I consider it. The bad guys getting there just due, but this one was really not put together. Well, there was hardly there was more smutting book one than there was. In this last book and then for one of her mates, they waited until the very end, I mean, let's all be real. Everybody loves a good story. I'm the first one to read a book. If it's got a good story and wait for it. But we're all here for the smut. I don't know how to make it any plainer to authors. If your book has a good, healthy dose of smut and is even halfway decent, believe you me, they're gonna love it. I'm pretty sure anybody would tell you. Nobody read Fifty Shades of Grey and thought, hmm. The story plot was missing. No, that's not what happened. I don't know disappointed in this when if I could give it one and a half stars, I would

Must read for all RH paranormal romance lovers

This series was so enjoyable. The romance intermixed with action captivated me to keep turning the pages.
Of the five male demons, Akor is obviously the most psychopathic with his penchant for pain & violence (he's a pain demon). But, I love how he is a sweetheart with his Cherry aka Katrina & would burn down the world after cutting it painfully with a blunt knife for Katrina & Adam. Really, he's a sweetheart.
Then, there's Kastros who's a vengeance demon. Even though he's the biggest of them all, he is really a teddy bear. Despite being mute, he finds such heartwarming ways to convey his love to Katrina.
Raziel, the nightmare demon, is the first one to appear to Katrina in her dreams & he's also the first one she gives her heart to.
Van, the lust demon & Zolroth are the final members in the Harem & just like the others, they too are fiercely devoted to Katrina & her brother Adam who they later adopt.
With Katrina developing her own powers & watching her growth from an insecure teenager to a confident, powerful woman throughout the series is commendable & enjoyable.

Great ending to this series. I freakin adored the reference to “Demon’s Joy” the Christmas book by the authors in the same universe. Honestly, I did not put together Raz’s connection between both narratives. I loved see Joy and her murder again. It was great to see her happily ever after. Would definitely recommend it!

The interpretation of heaven and hell is very original but honestly I want more exploration of that. Hell or Heaven barely made an appearance in this book.

Adam is adorable. What 4 year old isn’t?... wait I’ve met plenty of terrors. I love his bond with the guys and how seamless it is.

Speaking of the guys. I know Reverse Harem is a why choose scenario and that’s all good but I did have a favorite beau in this one. AKOR… we get more information about his background in this book. His instability makes sense and I love his utter devotion to Katrina.

Parting Remarks: I will be waiting with bated breath for Lucy’s story to drop… It said it would be released around December 31 of this year. So a long time but I gotta have a book list, right?

This series was fantastic. I loved every moment of it. Like most of Katie may and Ann denton’s books I laughed hysterically and even cried a bit. Akor is the epitome of a psychotic sweet heart. Sounds redundant but if you made it this far in the series you understand. I loved that Raz finally let himself lose control a bit here. Kas. I mean so I have to say more than his name? His character broke me a little in the third book. Van made me wish lust demons were real. And last but certainly not least Zoloth made me question why my husband wasn’t wearing five piece suits every day to impress me.
It’s rare that the FMC is my favorite character of a series but Katrina won that award. Her character
development was real and made sense. I loved that she started as the shy spaz of a girl and turned into woman who loves hard and isn’t as embarrassed of her spastastic ways. She knows when to be vulnerable and when it’s time to kick ass and take names.
All around a great series. It’s on my reread list!!

I just love this series. I don’t even know what more I can say. I love the concept, the story and the characters. I laughed out loud multiple times while reading these books.

This book continues where the second book ended (a cliffhanger) and it’s like no time passed between the release dates. The references to the previous books were just enough to throw you right back into the story.

The characters are hilarious, I just love all of their personalities. They are such memorable characters. I enjoyed the multiple POV within the book, it was great getting into their heads and knowing their inner dialogue and emotions.

Highly recommend reading the other books in the authors’ demon universe before reading this one.

This was a perfect ending to the series. I’m sad it’s over but I feel so satisfied with how it ended.

What a great series

I'm kind of sad that this series with Katrina and her five demons is over, now. I love how they all had such unique personalities and traits, and while I had a suspicion for a little bit who the "bad guys" were, it was still great to see it wrap up. It wasn't TOTALLY predictable. Even though I suspected it, the reason they were the bad guys wasn't so much, and it was all brought together so well in the end.

If you haven't read the first book yet, I'd say go for it! Assuming you don't mind reverse harem, demons and hell being made to seem not evil (admittedly I'm a Christian, a few times I told myself I really shouldn't be reading this and had a few issues, but.... darn it all, it was such a good series!!), and a character who loves gore (nothing gets too bad!), then this is for you! ;)

Let me get a woot, woot!

I will admit that I started to suspect the "villians" in this and I was totally right. Well except about one person but he was being crazy so I had all rights to think it was him! Don't judge me! Anyway, as always I loved Katrina and her nerdy self and all of her delicious and funny yet stubborn and over protective men. I have to ask though, does no one else think it was weird that the nanny was drinking and driving with a kid in the car? And is there a reason why no one questioned where the parents were in all this? Idk there were a few other holes in there that I wasn't sure of but honestly this was a great series that was funny and even though they were demons I still felt they were so sweet in their own crazy way.

The narrators are brilliant in all 3/4 or these books xx
The story is brilliant and I love her relationship with all the men/demons, I just have one complate why do we not have a run down of her with all 5 of them have 😉🌶️ I mean at most she has 3 play at the same time but come on.... They're demons for crying out loads (I might be a little too into the idea tbf) but in fiction anything can happen right? 👀
😂😂😂😂
However I rate this book a a good 4.8 the 0.2 for the choice not do write a full on gang💣with all five...... I mean it's the only reason I started 'reading' this dame book in the first place, I'm a little unfifiled 😩🤣 xx
I mean we all have our book kinks right?
I can't be the only one that noticed this?

I have read a lot of Katie May’s work and this one just fell flat for me. For anyone thinking of reading this series beware of a Heroine who is a drama queen and never thinks before acting. Rushing into situations when you are human with demon mates who can take care of it for you is just, ughh 🙄. Every decision she makes is a wtf moment. She is overly obsessed with her younger sibling and thinks she’s his mom. A RH should not have younger siblings or children involved. I don’t care and can not relate to heroines like this. I liked the guys so I stuck with it but it never really gave enough info about each one to truly connect.

Difficult to rate.

It had a good plot. But had way to much much sex going on. I don’t mind sexual scenes but when it gets to the point where that’s basically all there is to the book, that’s an issue with me. I like there to be an actual storyline. It was weird how she developed powers and none of the characters seemed to even vaguely question how or why. Also everything that happened at her school was ridiculous. And again, nobody seemed confused or even noticed all the freaky crap that was happening. And there was A LOT. So that seemed stupid. As long as you can ignore all the unexplained and twisted, it was a series to read.

Demon Sworn

What a series! It was a wonderful HEA! Honestly, I was suspicious of certain people the entire time and glad to know my instincts were correct! I am glad that the drama is finally over because this demon m*rder and their center went through a lot. There was bits and pieces of spiciness to this book but for some reason I was expecting more. That is really all I wish for was more spicy scenes especially when they had a joining ceremony because that was a big moment. These authors are incredible and I definitely recommend this series to anyone wanting RH demon fated mates!

Didn’t quite hold up

I really liked the first book, it was funny and the characters were interesting. But I really felt like it didn’t carry through to the end. There were too many weird things that didn’t add up. Spoilers! Why didn’t Kas’s tongue grow back? Akor said he cut off his penis and it grew back. I also don’t understand how Jason and William’s family just don’t care they disappear and no one else does either. There were a lot of little things that didn’t add up for me. How could the guys be so blind to who the bad guys were?
And why didn’t Lucy know? The whole trip to heaven was weird. Sorry, I was just disappointed…

Amazing series

Oh my gosh, I loved this series so hard. Katrina and her psycho demons are an absolutely riot. I adored their weird little family and absolutely crazy adventures. I've definitely preordered Lucy's story and I'll read anything else that these two authors write in this world (maybe the angels from the neighboring town finding their Center? *hint, hint*). Seriously though, these authors were a fantastic pairing and I hope they write tons more books together because I am so here for it.

Loved this series!

Really enjoyed this read! I don't read a lot of PNR Romance but books like this are what encourages me to explore the genre more. The books got a little predictable at some points but that didn't really take out the enjoyment for me cause I like it when i'm right lol I highly enjoyed the characters and I loved Katty and her boys so much, guys are different from each other (especially Akor, that motherfucker, I love the Hell—pun intended—out of him). Might pick up Lucy's book, cause damn if i'm not intrigued how her story's gonna be.
