Racing down the winding streets of Imperia, my only hope of reclaiming my throne is to escape. Unfortunately, that means returning to the one place I truly fear—Berovia.
My fears—it seems—were justified. In the dark underbelly of Berovia, I am captured by King Xenos’s men and thrown into the pits with traitors and criminals to pray for salvation I knew wouldn’t come. My only hope to make it out alive is by agreeing to marry the king’s arrogant son. But this union comes at a terrible price. If I agree to be his bride, my people may be stripped of their magic and forced into submission under Kiros’s reign. If I die, I leave my corruptible cousin, Edgar, to ruin my family’s rule.
Can I find a way to save my people and myself? Or, will I die as the princess of nothing?
Rebecca writes dark fantasy romance, usually with gothic elements and always with morally gray characters. Originally from England, she lives in Texas with her husband, and two sons. She loves anything with enemies to lovers, slow burn, and lots of angst.
I received a copy of this book via NetGalley (thank you Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op). All thoughts and opinions are my own.
🆗 Pace 🆗 Characters 🆗 World-building 🆗❌ Plot ❌❌ Romance and teenage drama over boys
The first half of the book is not too bad. Winter shows some growth, and she feels remorse because she betrayed her friends. Because of everything that happened in the first book, she also seems to be more open-minded, which is a good improvement.
Sadly, the last part of the book was a letdown. Winter’s decisions annoyed me, it’s as if she reverted back to the spoilt and immature princess… After all the progress she made in the first part of the book. I was really frustrated with the way she treated Cedric, especially after he risked his life to save her many times and sacrificed a lot to follow her. The fact that Blaise is boring and that there is no chemistry between him and Winter did not help me enjoy the book either.
The pace of the second half of the book was also more rushed, after spending so much time focusing on which boy to choose, suddenly everything happened, and everything was rushed. And still, the book ended with Winter worrying about boys again. I did not enjoy the first book much, but at least it was a little more focused on Winter’s adventure. I feel like I just read 250 pages about teenage Winter thinking about her feelings for two cute guys.
I will not continue with this series. After reading many great reviews about the second book, I hoped that I would like it more than the first one, but I just can’t get into this series. The pace is not working for me, and I can’t connect with the characters.
I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
After devouring the previous book, I was definitely excited to dive into this sequel. That being said The Princess of Nothing was interesting in it's own way but definitely had some anticlimactic parts to it as well. For example, I knew there was something odd about Cedric in the first book so it wasn't a shock or anything when something was revealed about him.
Then there's Winter who seems to make terrible decisions all over again. Just like in the first book. Yet, I get it at the same time. She is definitely dealing with a lot of stuff in this book. Probably more than the first book and her anxiety attacks aren't helping either. Don't get me wrong, she is a strong and confident but I feel like she is too dependent at the same time.
I did love some of the decisions she was making in this book and I was happy that she was acting more like a Queen in certain situations. It just wasn't enough because for some reason she felt like she needed a Cedric by her side no matter what. There was no love between them even if he had a crush or whatever on her. There's obviously something going on between her and Blaise but nothing really happens.
If there's another book I would love for her to be a Queen and a Queen alone. Yes, people have stated that she needs a King by her side for the good of the Kingdom.. but what if that doesn't happen and she rules by herself? I think that would make an interesting book.
In the end, the ending was just okay for me. I wasn't expecting much with this being a sequel in everything.. but it didn't wow me or anything either.
The second book in The Fate of Crowns series picks up where the first book left off. Winter must flee her home and seek refuge in the most unlikely of places. Captured and imprisoned by King Xenos, Winter suffers unimaginably before she is freed by the King’s son.
Winter is offered a way to reclaim her throne – marry the prince of Berovia. Winter knows that the lives of her people will be irrevocably changed if she agrees to the union. However, she is determined to become queen. Is there a way for her to become queen without an arranged loveless marriage? Winter’s decisions take her on an epic journey across vast lands and an even bigger journey of self-discovery.
Much like the first story, Winter’s character development is one of the highlights of the novel. She deals with so much throughout this story – trauma, grief, loss, abuse, guilt, anxiety, and more haunt her, but she is determined to do right by her people and kingdom. Winter is a survivor, and though she struggles with her feelings, she refuses to let them consume her.
I also like how the author shows Winter’s anxiety and how it affects her physically and emotionally. She has unexpected panic attacks, her mind races, and she has moments when everything becomes too much and all-consuming. At one point during a panic attack, Winter can’t breathe, and she thinks she is dying. She doesn’t realize that it is her anxiety. I found this aspect of her character very realistic and relatable, and I love how the author integrated this into the story. Winter is fierce, strong, and intelligent – a leader and a role model. However, she also has vulnerabilities and struggles that sometimes severely affect her. She’s a well-layered and well-developed character who continues to grow and fight for herself and others.
Characters like Blaise, Cedric, and Morgana are developed more intricately as well. The story delves more into their pasts and presents, giving the reader a more complete view of each person. I’m still torn about many of these characters, as the line between good and evil remains unclear. There are few characters that I believe are truly loyal to Winter. Ulterior motives, political ambition, and the desire for power cloud many of the character’s true intentions.
The political intrigue, maneuvering, and turmoil heightens in this story and is leading to an epic battle for the kingdom. I can’t wait to see what happens when Winter returns to her land and confronts her cousin! I’m also excited to learn more about Blaise’s curse and whether Winter can help him. I’m still rooting for Blaise and Winter even though the odds are stacked against them.
Winter’s love life is another interesting aspect of the novel. In the first book, the focus was primarily on the relationship between Winter and Blaise. However, as the story progresses, there are several potential love interests. I find this very fitting, as it parallels Winter’s tumultuous, complex, and confusing life. The men in her life are so different from each other, and they each have something different to offer her. Does Winter want safety, comfort, convenience, or passion? Who does she truly want to be with? Must politics interfere with her romantic choices? Winter has to decide what is most important to her before she can make a decision.
This is an action-packed story that kept me on the edge of my seat. Filled with mystery, suspense, and some nail-biting scenes, there is never a dull moment, and I love it! Thanks so much to NetGalley, the publisher, and Rebecca L. Garcia for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
Still waiting for my heart to catch up with my whirling thoughts. My heart still feels like it was tossed in a blender and set to purée. But holy crap, what a ride!! That’s what I call a sequel!
I loved everything about this book. Winter has grown so much since we last saw her at the end of Crowns. I’m so proud of her!! But my heart also aches for her as her own heart continues to be pulled in all directions: I mean that in more ways than one.
The battle between Winter and her cousin Edgar was also well-written, quick and to the point without being tediously drawn out. I’m also glad that our main characters live to see another day at the end. Thank god!!! Those last chapters towards the end were brutal on the feels.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. I’m very excited to see where the story goes from here. I’ll be waiting anxiously for book 3!
A completely enthralling continuation of an absolutely fantastic fantasy series, Rebecca L Garcia has created a wonderfully captivating world that you will never want to leave!
The Princess Of Nothing Starts off exactly where we left off at the dramatic end of The Fate Of Crowns. Now we follow Winter as she embarks on her fight for her crown.
"I am the queen of Magaelor, and I am going to reclaim my throne"
But the path is far from easy , and war is inevitable!
"War was coming, and I had to be my kingdoms defender"
this is a gripping story of love and loyalty, of heartache and betrayal and of friendship and hope ,a story that will have you on the edge of your seat and holding your breath waiting for whats going to happen next, and I've loved every minute of it. Rebecca L Garcia as far excelled my expectations with this book ,she is going from strength to strength and just keep getting better and better.
The Princess of Nothing is a beautifully written story with characters you will love and some you will hate and a storyline to rival any well known fantasy you've read before ,this as been absolute pleasure to read and I'm extremely excited for whats to come.
Ooff... I’m so overwhelmed right now, I don’t even know where to begin. I have been waiting so eagerly for this sequel and my expectations have not been disappointed.
After the showdown in the first book and with no allies, Winter is forced to leave her Kingdom and hide amongst her enemies. But the next obstacle is not long in coming and winter must make a momentous decision — or several.
I loved how Winter grows with her obstacles, turning her to a strong and determined fighter driven by revenge, ready to reclaim her crown and throne regardless of the consequences; clever and manipulative, she is sometimes forced to deceive both allies and enemies. Fed up with the typical YA heroine, I was more than pleasantly surprised by this character development, which doesn’t mean that she gives in to all her darker feelings. But she acknowledges them, which makes her a complex character. The complex nature of the characters is one reason I’m so excited about this series. No one is entirely black or white but multi-layered, to quote Cedric: “If I have learned anything this month, it’s that the world is filled with shades of gray. For example, us.”
Besides all the political scheming, the story was bursting from all the romance and heartache. Every male character grew on me — yes, all three of them, since Winter is confronted with another suitor — and they all had their good qualities and flaws. Anyway, I’m still rooting for my dark fae king and can’t wait for them to meet again in “The Court of Secrets”.
The only thing that annoyed me in the beginning was that it took Winter so long — too long — to realize that Cedric’s crown was more than just a fashion statement. But as I said, there was a lot of character growth from the naive princess to the bold queen and in the end I was totally in love with her character.
Another fact I really appreciated: I’m not a fan of extensive war or battle scenes, so I was anticipating the final battle with dread. But it was well written, only focusing on the necessary points.
Intense in Epic Fantasy Proportions! Book one laid the groundwork book 2 is page-flipping action! This sequel is intense and emotional from page one. There's growth and development in the characters, relationships, and plot. Super easy to read seamless flow and perfect pace. The world-building continues to be incredible. It is one of those stories that you become immersed in because of the vivid imagery. It's so much more than words on a page. And yes there may have been tears... There are still so many lessons to be learned, choices to be made, and battles to be won! I can't wait to be back in Winter's world. This series is promising the potential to just continue to get better and better!
The saga continues as Winter fights for throne, her people, and struggles with the desires of her heart.
Book one hooked me, and the second installment in this fantastic series is no different. Intrigue, battles, love, and more fill the pages of The Princess of Nothing. If you're ready to begin an epic journey fraught with danger, death, and love, you can't go wrong with The Fate of Crowns series.
Winter fights for what she believes in, and will stop at nothing to reclaim her crown. Change is in the air, but it's not the type the people need. With her cousin on the throne, the ways of the lunas have been threatened and will soon be a thing of the past. Unless Winter can find the courage and strength to take back what's rightfully hers.
I enjoyed getting to see Winter grow. With each story, she matures a little more, and becomes more worthy of the crown she's destined to wear. In book one, we saw her start as a spoiled child who believed everything she'd been told, refusing to question the beliefs she held dear were tainted. Until she met Cedric and the light fae opened her eyes to the world around her. In book two, she continues her journey of self-discovery, and learns more about herself and the world around her. By the end, Winter has grown from a spoiled girl to someone who wants to fight for the injustice of not only her people, but others who are treated unfairly.
Winter is full of passion and determination. But with anyone faced with such a heavy burden, she also has her doubts. She gains strength from her best friend, as well as the dark fae king and Cedric, her light fae prince. The secondary characters in this story add a richness to the book and help suck you into the world of magic.
As with the first installment, this one ends in a cliffhanger. While I typically dislike them, I find with The Fate of Crowns series, they only make me eagerly anticipate the next book. I can't wait to see what's in store for Winter, Cedric, and even Blaise in book three. Very well done, Ms. Garcia! You've crafted another masterpiece.
*I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
The stakes increase from book 1 and there's no "second book syndrome" in sight! YAY! This means that this second installment is an excellent bridge between book 1 and book 3 with a fast-paced and interesting plot full of surprises. More magical creatures too and scenes with them! We also see them being more involved with the plot whether that be helping Winter with something or being used as a pawn by the corrupt kingdom leaders which increased the political twists and turns.
When I try to guess what Winter will do in a situation or guess what will happen in the plot, I'm always surprised which I love. Also, forget love triangles, this book has a love square with alllll the boys wanting to marry Winter for one reason or another.
Even though I have a favorite love interest for Winter I can see the benefits from the different matches and why she has to weigh her decisions carefully with her head yes but also her heart. I actually really like love triangles or other complicated relationship dynamics with book characters because we get to see them discover who they are and/or who they will be.
We also get to see Winter wrestle with her past, her family's past, and the past of other corrupt leaders/kingdoms. She is very realistically portrayed through all her struggles which is what makes her a favorite female MC.
I cannot wait to re-read this one once the audiobook comes out because I loved Amanda Stribling's portrayal of Winter and the other characters in the audiobook of book 1 (The Fate of Crowns)
Thank you to The Next Step PR, Victory Editing, NetGalley, and the author Rebecca L Garcia for the e-arc copy of The Princess of Nothing. I received this review copy free of charge, it was my choice to read and I'm leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was even better than the first. Winter's character growth was fantastic to see. I appreciated that she had to be strong to be a ruler but it was so human to see her struggle with anxiety and guilt and the pressures she faced.
I can feel how torn she is with her love interests and I enjoyed seeing their characterisations in this story. I have my favourite and look forward to seeing what happens next and hoping for my endgame.
I love the world building and the descriptions of things are so visually pleasing:
"I slid across the icy pebbles and steadied myself as I halted. Sucking in deep breaths, I brought my gaze up to the midnight sky. I could really see the stars tonight. They were beautiful, pricks of silver glistening against the darkness"
AMAZING! She has done it again! The Princess of Nothing is Amazing and possibly better than the Fate of Crowns. It's so good that I read this book in 3 hours. I love how in this series at some point you will have to sit at the edge of your seat! The battle was beautifully written. We get to see some new characters and some new lands. Also, revisit some characters we already know ;) Get ready to experience Romance, heartbreak, Love, and friendship! Can't wait to read book 3! (Book 3 title was revealed on her Facebook page so if you want to find out make sure to join her group!)
Also, Thank You, Rebecca, for sending me a copy of the book.
Garcia’s The Princess of Nothing picks up where The Fate of Crowns left off. Magaelor is thrown into unrest because of Edgar’s unstable rule and Winter is far from everyone she loves. I loved continuing Winter’s story. She showed great progression and strength throughout this second installment in the series.
She realizes that if she wants things to change, she has to take matters into her own hands.

We reunite with old friends who help Winter learn the importance of truly living (enter Cedric) and and make new enemies (Kiros, the Berovian prince with a massive ego and a crown-obsession) that we love to hate just for the fun of it.
Despite having hope that she is the key for this change, Winter has a darkness inside her that she can’t to rid herself of.
As Winter learns to deal with her darkness, she returns to Lazarus in hopes of convincing Blaise, now king of the dark fae, for assistance. Once there, she is drawn to him once again, despite her affection for Cedric.
Blaise feels this pull as well and tells her as such. “𝒲𝑒 𝒶𝓇𝑒 𝑜𝓃𝑒 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓈𝒶𝓂𝑒, 𝒲𝒾𝓃𝓉𝑒𝓇. 𝐻𝑒 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝓃𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇 𝒷𝑒 𝑒𝓃𝑜𝓊𝑔𝒽 𝒻𝑜𝓇 𝓎𝑜𝓊. 𝒴𝑜𝓊’𝓁𝓁 𝒶𝓁𝓌𝒶𝓎𝓈 𝒻𝑒𝑒𝓁 𝓁𝒾𝓀𝑒 𝒽𝒶𝓁𝒻 𝒶 𝓅𝑒𝓇𝓈𝑜𝓃 𝓌𝒾𝓉𝒽 𝒽𝒾𝓂.” When all is said and done, and the war against Edgar is won, as Winter prepares to return home with Cedric, her heart is still at odds. Who will she choose? Will she find the happiness she desires or forever remain incomplete; therefore, forever the Princess of Nothing? ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ I really hope this is a longer series! I have some many questions! As much as I like Cedric, my heart is #TeamBlaise! I love him! Next to Winter, he’s my fave character! I have a thing for brooding, tortured souls. As stated before, this is one of my new fave series! I will read whatever Rebecca writes!
~I received a copy from victory editing through netgalley~ This was a pretty good sequel! I'd like to note that in the first part of the novel, like 1/4 through while Winter was traveling, the dialogue between her and her traveling companions seemed quite forced and not written very naturally to me, which I mean you write depending on the situation, but it just seemed written a little odd to me, especially because the dialogue throughout the rest of the novel is perfectly fine. Aside from that I really enjoyed Winter's development. You could see it with the first book, and you can see it even more with this book. I think in particular it is interesting to see Winter interacting with the Prince of Berovia because you can really tell how people are influenced depending on where they live, how they were raised, and you can really tell that Winter is growing as a character and coming out of this set in one way of thinking that she could tell that the Prince did not really know what was going on in his Kingdom and just went with whatever his father said, much like she did in the beginning of the first novel. I also liked how short the battle scene was. I tend to just kind of skim through battle scenes, especially when they are long, because for some reason I just can't make myself read all of that, I know it's a battle so may as well just get to the end of it, so I'm glad it was not drawn out. I do think I would have liked to know about Edgar a little more, his character wasn't really developed at all so he didn't really seem like a real threat in the book honestly, but I do understand that this book is written from Winter's perspective therefore you're only reading from her ways of perceiving things. I also enjoyed Winter's struggles with both Blaise and Cedric. This struggle in her mind that she loves both, but one more than the other, but her mind is also trying to choose the safe choice, even though she wants the other. I think this was a great sequel, and even though Winter got what she wanted in the end of this book, there's still more to the plot and it isn't an unnecessary addition to the plot that got added, which I've noticed some fantasy novels do add, just to add more to the story. This one is an actual relevant next part to the plot, which I hope will work for another sequel.
The Princess of Nothing is the second book in The Fate of Crowns Series by Rebecca L. Garcia. The story begins with Winter fleeing from her home in Magaelor and escaping to the place she fears the most… Berovia. Winter must now wait until she can safely return to Magaelor in order to secure her rightful place as Queen. Unfortunately it isn’t going to be as easy as she thought it would be
I didn’t think that it was possible to love this series even more than I already did but I was so wrong. I absolutely loved everything about this story. Winter is back and she is stronger than ever. I really liked seeing how much Winter has grown as a character. She was no longer naïve or sheltered, in fact she was fierce, brave and had an intense passion to do what was right for her people.
I loved being reunited with familiar characters that I loved such as Blaise, Morgana, Lucien, Niam, and Cedric. I also loved meeting all of the new characters such as Aqugar, Hawk, and my new favourite character Prince Kiros. I liked the fact that there was an even bigger variety of humans and mythological characters in this book.
This story was well written, interesting and had me hooked from the very beginning. It was filled with heartbreak, revenge, justice, love, friendship, loyalty and new beginnings. I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book.
I recieved an advanced copy for free, and this is my honest opinion.
Rebecca Garcia you have made an enchanting world that I want to read more about. I finished The Princess of Nothing within 2 days and absolutely enjoyed it. I almost prefer the 2nd book over the 1st. Throughout reading the story I felt like I was given the right about of information to understand what was going on without tons of "fluff" that wasn't needed. Winter the main character has grown since the last book. She tries to stay strong for Magaelor and wants to right the wrongs of her family through their rule. Winter wouldn't let fear rule her as her father did.
Can we say hello, LOVE TRIANGLE! Cedric Evermist, the Light Fae Prince who is caring, kind, and supportive. He is everything and perfect for Winter but then there's Blaise Lazaurs, the Dark Fae Prince. Blaise who is a strong ruler that will do anything to build it back to a powerful kingdom. He's mysterious and knows how to say the right things but can't "love". I really like Cedric but I'm pulled by Blaise's mysterious ways. Bring on book 3!
I really enjoyed book one but this book was even better, by a lot. It was everything I hoped the sequel would be that I created a new shelf for it. The romance in this book was heightened by a million times from the first book and I was here for it. I am team Blaise no matter what. Cedric is a great character but I just can't see them ending up together because they are so different and Blaise and Winter have this deep connection they get eachother and I ship them hard.
The action in this book was 10/10 and that battle scenes was everything I didn't know I needed. My heart stopped at the end and the ending was perfectly done to go into book two.
I can honestly say there was nothing I didn't like about this one. Even the baddy Kiros was somewhat redeemable and I liked being in Berovia this time more than the first book because it was just better developed. I can't wait for book three I need it now.
Oh. my. GOD. What a GREAT second book to the series 'The Fate of Crowns'. Very rarely do I read the second book of a series and am just as enthralled with the story as I was in the first book. This book is an exception. :)
I feel that we see Winter really grow more into herself and just stay true to how her character was in the first book. She just has that concise and clear personality that I loved and to see it carried through in the second book was just so lovely. Winter is the same girl, but grows so much more, but she stays true to herself 1000%. None of that Mary-Sue crap that so many books turn into after the first book of a series.
100000% recommend, I absolutely love this series and can't wait to see more.
Thank you Netgalley, Victory Editing, and author for providing the ARC of this book.
http://www.unbrindelecture.com/2021/0... A second volume just as fascinating as the first, we travel through all the regions of this universe alongside Winter. Well surrounded in this volume, maybe even too much. The author manages to surprise us at each event and we walk this adventure with envy. Young adult fantasy as I like it. Can't wait for more!
This book picks up where the first left off. If you haven’t read the first book this one will not make a lick of sense.
Winter is on the run and trying to find a way to take her kingdom back from her cousin. She is hiding in Berovia for a bit while trying to make amends and ease her conscious. I love how the elves are with her. They forgive but don’t trust and Winter learns a hard lesson there.
Cedric is with Winter the whole way. You can see his feelings for her and the complexity of the situation he is in. He is my absolute favorite character. As Winter is telling him everything, he is understanding and kind. As they are going through the forest, he is patient and sweet. He helps Winter grow and see things in a different light. When she finds out the truth, he still is there for her even as she feels her anger and frustration. She can’t let him go though because even though she hasn’t realized it or understand she does love Cedric in her own way. He puts himself at risk to help her and help her get her country back and has the patience of a saint. He is encouraging and a soothing presence for Winter.
Winter grows in the book as she goes through her trials. And yes I call them trials because to me they help her become stronger and more aware of what she needs to be. They also help her mature and get even more passionate for her people and their needs as well. I love how she learns through mistakes and wants to make things right. How she isn’t straight forward and doesn’t quite understand herself or her feelings. She owns this too and that it great. I love how she strategizes and learns but doesn’t think she can do everything on her own and asks for help. I love her with Cedric even when she is back on the island with Blaise I want her with Cedric.
Blaise is getting more and more less caring as his curse consumes him. He needs Winter to help him become whole again and there are glimpses where you see he cares for her. That is a complex relationship due to his ability to compel but you can see they have feelings. I think Winter is lost in trying to figure out her feelings and where she belongs.
The ending was fascinating. She is left in limbo in many ways and fighting herself and the darkness within. Her battles to come will be from both ends-outside from Berovia and inside with herself battling darkness.
A amazing continuation that leaves you hanging and wanting more. I am so rooting for her and Cedric.
Princess of Nothing was a knockout of a read! I fell in love with another world, and the challenges that Winter faced.
This book literally took me to another world, where this world was full of love, of hate, of betrayal, friendship and war. It was such an exciting read, and I loved the growth that Winter made throughout.
This book was thrilling and exciting. It was well written and I could not help but be addicted to the story. I am falling very quickly in love with this series, and i am so excited to read more of this world.
Overall, an incredible fantastical read that I cannot wait to read more of. Very impatiently waiting for more! Loved it!
This book is the second part of The Fate of Crowns. This time, Winter is escaping Magaelor to go back later. Obviously, things don't go quite as planned. Winter is having a lot of trouble getting things done. She always make plans that never work, always goes places and waste time for no reason at all, but is always sure that she is doing the right thing. I think it quite funny. She is very often insufferable and I'm pretty convinced that if she wasn't a princess, guys wouldn't be falling for her in every single kingdom. The path of the story is very varied. It goes from fast path during travel to very slow, sometimes repetitive during the down parts of the story. This book introduce new characters and depends your knowledge of old one. The fact that it's in first person, so that we can only see what is happening around Winter makes the story very personal and at the same time there is an aura of mystery around everyone else. We don't know what the other characters are really like, what they want, what they do, as we only see them through Winter's eyes and she is in general very bias, even though she doesn't realise it. She is a flawed character surrounded that other flawed characters that she wants to pretend are worse than her, even poor Cedric. I'm actually glad that he has one moment to snap at her. Especially after what she just put him and the men he was with through. Yes Winter, they are going to die and that's on you for trying to get something totally useless that proves to be even more useless. Advice girl when it's time to run, you don't stop to read. Winter also has her feminist moments but not with everyone, it's basically reserved for Kiros, Blaise could do three times as bad and she would probably not even notice. It was super funny to see though.
It took me sometimes to get into this book but it's quite interesting once you keep at it.
This is part of a series and alls I can say is wow just wow. The first books were as captivating and intriguing as this this one. Captured and given only one way out she must choose to marry the kings son whom she has no love for or stay in the pits. But if she agrees to the marriage her people could loose their magic and be forced to life under King Xenos’s rule if she dies then her cousin Edgers rule which isn’t any better she must fight to safe her self and her people. Amazing characters band a storyline that draws you in and keeps you there.

The ending is spectacular and im on pins and needles waiting for the next book in this magical fantasy romance world.
ARC received from The Next Step PR. Voluntarily reviewing and all opinions are objective and my own.
I was cautious getting into this one, for my dislike of the first book. I wanted to like it, but I found it too boring. But this one...this one is anything but!!! Holy crap, this is fantastic!!
It was slow for the first 20is percent, but once it hit that mark it took off and I read it across two sittings. The political, royal war and politics is so intriguing as the character works toward her crown, is captured, and uses politics and alliances to get back her crown. Adventure and intrigue at every turn!
The author sure knows how to create a male character. Why have one when you can have three?! The romance in this one warmed my romance-needing heart, and let’s not forget about the level of angst scattered throughout. First, Cedric returns. I enjoyed him in book 1 and did hope to see more of him. Who he turns out to be had my jaw dropping. I really like his character in this one and he makes for the sweetest hero in the romance. Then Kiros. While wrapped up in a horrible court, the author did a wonderful job at making me feel something for the poor guy. And oh, let’s not forget Blaise. HE is my favorite by far and I’m happy for his return. Cue said angst.
I get a bit of A Court of Thorns and Roses vibe from this one with Cedric being Tamlin and Blaise being Rhys. And we all know Rhys came out on top so…. *fingers crossed* On that note, the ending of the book did throw me for a bit so I remain hopeful for the next one.
And oh, I can’t wait for book 3! I’m happy to see these books are being released one after another.
I also want to use this review to commend the author. According to a post she made, her first book did receive some negative feedback and instead of brushing it aside and creating a sequel that was just as slow, she implemented the feedback, going as far as creating a second edition of her first book and continuing forth into this amazingness. I’m glad I gave book 2 a shot. After I finished the first I just had this gut feeling saying I needed to try at least one more book of the series before writing it off, so no regrets!
Another Five Star read!! What an amazing adventure as Winter continues on her quest to regain her stolen Kingdom from her cousin Edgar. Winter is aided in her mission by the two men who hold her emotions Cedric and Blaise. This is the second installment which has many twists and turns and I’m can hardly wait to see the thrilling ending to Winters tale of becoming Queen. Rebecca Garcia continues to enchant the reader through her inside magical world of Winter Mortis.
An epic dark fantasy. This is the second book in the series and you need to read book 1 first. This book picks up right where book 1 left off and is full of suspense. It’s so easy to get pulled in and I’m in love with Blaise and Cedric. I won’t spoil the fun but seriously this books rocks!!
Prepare to be completely gutted and captivated in book two of the Fate Of Crowns Series. The princess of Nothing is truly a work of art. Winter must flee her home in order to return as Queen some day and take her crown back from her cousin. However the journey Winter faces while struggling to get her crown back is not an easy road. She had to ask forgiveness from her friends, trust those she was taught to hate and survive death many times. Winter is so strong and unwavering in her beliefs it’s awe inspiring. She fought being tortured and near death only to be forced to marry someone she loathes. The twists and turns in this journey keeps you on your toes and forever guessing. The raw emotion is intense and relatable. This is what I love so much about this character and this story, you really never know what is going to happen next.
I also need to touch on the love interests in Winters life!!!!!! They are truly intense and also completely all over the place like just like Winter. But oh how I love each and every man in Winters life and all the ways that this could go. It leaves me wanting more and more.
Rebecca, you never cease to amazing me and this series is my absolute favourite yet!!! Cannot wait for the next instalment!!
Rebecca did not disappoint. In this installment, Winter has plenty to deal with. Loves and loses, adventures and intrigues. There's lots going on and yet there's plenty more to come. There has to be. It can't end there. I can't wait for the next book.
This book was received as an ARC from Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.
This book reminded me a lot of A Court of Fire and Ruins and Red Queen. Being in an arranged marriage and captured by the kingsmen threatened for your magic and life unless you marry the prince. One event after the other just made this book all the more interesting to read and this is definitely a step in the right direction for the latest YA Fantasy genre. This book just proves why I love this genre so much and everyday I share a title or two with our patrons especially our new ones that come in that love YA. This is definitely another book I will add to my recommendation list.
We will consider adding this title to our YA collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
