"Recuerda siempre que eres especial e importante. Ningún acto de bondad es demasiado pequeño para ayudar a otra persona a sentirse así."
QUE HISTORIA, QUE PERSONAJES, QUE COSAS!!
Ashton POR DIOS QUE PERSONAJE
IRIS QUE PERSONAJE
Sin duda que historia tan bonita y con un mensaje de la autora al final que te deja pensando realmente en que aunque sea algo pequeño un acto puede hacer mucho por una persona que lo necesite 💕.

Wow! What an emotional, angsty and heartfelt read! Aly Stiles is such a fantastic writer. Story after story, she digs deep and meticulously develops her characters with a realness that can't be matched. These characters became a part of me. I pulled so hard for Ash and Iris as I was reading, wanting everything to work out for them. Just the thought of them now squeezes my heart. Their journey was intense and filled with so much heartache, beauty, hope and love. It was so much more than I could have ever hoped for. Time and time again, Aly Stiles proves why she will always be a go-to author for me. She is one of the very best! Five stars and more for Ash, Iris and Ashton Morgan: Apartment 17B!

“Failure is temporary. Regret is forever.”

Ashton Morgan: Apartment 17B by Aly Styles was one of those stories that will break, heal, and steal your heart. A slow-building romance laced with angst, struggle, and heartbreak. It was a tale as old as time, where two people from different sides of the track find a love so pure and honest it makes your heart soar. Soulmates. Beautifully written, this romance is one for the dreamers, for the readers who love to find hope where there seems to be none and the readers who love a good old-fashioned romance that must travel an arduous journey filled with man-made obstacles. It truly was a wonderful story that touched us immensely with its inspirational positivity despite the darkness, as well as the hope that love brought for two much-loved characters.

“You can’t force anyone to journey into your world, and from what you’re saying, he probably couldn’t if he wanted to. If you want this person in your life, you’re going to have to force your way into his.”

Ashton was such a gentle man, a slightly broken man with a huge heart and a quiet unassuming nature. We fell in love with everything Ashton Morgan, what a hero! He gave up on his dream to support his horrendous mum and sweet little brother, working his fingers to the bone, getting nothing in return. Ashton deserved love, care, and affection as well as that elusive break. He deserved not to have to worry whether or not he could put food on the table or if his little brother were safe when he wasn’t there to look after him. His story broke our hearts. But hope and love came along in Iris Alexander. Gorgeous, kind and caring Iris immediately saw what a magnificent man, Ashton was. Ashton may need Iris in his life; however, Iris needs Ashton too. Their love was a modern fairy-tale and we fell in utter love with their story.

"Failure is temporary. Regret is forever."

I loved the message and the realness behind the story. This book focuses in humans and class differences.

╰┈➤Ashton (H) is poor and Iris (h) is rich rich. They met when Iris, her sister Ivy and some of her friends go to a restaurant and Ashton is their waiter. They treat him HORRIBLY, like a literal piece of meat and Iris feel so badly that leaves a big tip and her phone number. Ashton forgets about that, but then finds himself working in Iris's house during his second job which is something in regards of manual labor. Iris wants to befriend him, but he resists, A LOT. So yeah, that's how the story goes. Also, is not insta-love, is more along the lines of insta-connection/attraction.

I haven't read one of these type of books in a while and it was a nice read. I totally adored Ivy's dad. He was a good one, just look at this!! I love him!!!

That must surprise him because he does his arm-cross-lean-forward thing. “Wait, are you trying to tell me there’s a heterosexual human male that’s not interested in one of the most amazing women on the planet?”

Ivy was a great heroine. She pulled out a few jokes that made me smile, she was a sweet soul.

*Ivy talking about her massage therapist*
“You say massage therapist like I’d say landlord.”
I scrunch my nose. “You get your massages from your landlord? Weird.”

jsfjsj I loved her.

I liked Ashton, but he was just too damn stubborn and predictable, is all. It was sad when Ashton got all these depressing as fuck thoughts about his self-worth, I wanted to hug him so so bad.

This is where it felt a bit flat for me:
♡ The repetitiveness. Like, I get why, but something different than "you can't possibly want me, I'm not worth it, bye" every single time something happened would've been appreciated.
♡ The first day when Ivy and Iris interrupt Ashton's work?? uhhh, girls... I didn't like that, I cringed HARD.
♡ How Ashton sometimes said "Mother", it didn't fit him at all.

And I think that's it?? It just that most of the book was the same conflict over and over again, hence, my the repetitiveness problem.

But other than that, I enjoyed this one. It's a story full of sweet sweet souls, fiction with a touch of real-life problems and lots and lots of love.

Just remember people, it's always:
“Better being a smartass than a stubborn ass-ass.”

After reading Camden Walker’s story first (yeah, I know I’m reading out of sequence), I’ve gotta admit that Ashton didn’t meet those standards set by the starving artist. Quite a disappointment. Like two different authors wrote these books – day and night difference between them. I’ve read hundreds very similar to Ashton’s story -- many much better. This book and the characters just didn’t have that staying power or quality to make it unforgettable.

There was absolutely nothing unexpected with very predictable plotting between an improbable pairing. Neither Ashton nor Iris made much of an impression, although I’ll give Ashton credit for determination and Iris for a kind and generous heart. Ashton cried real tears more than most young heroes usually found in this type of storyline. And maybe I’m just an unfeeling and hard-hearted old woman, but I didn’t shed a tear.

Ashton and Iris weren’t gifted with the same vibrant aura in Apartment 17B that surrounded Camden and Olivia in Apartment 8C. That old building was certainly selective in sharing the poetic and artistic beauties among its tenants.

Overall, the writing was formulaic, an average read, not really a “bad” book. It shared some of the usual entertaining qualities but without a single surprise in sight.

Ashton Morgan works two jobs to give his little brother everything he needs, every waking hour is spent thinking how to survive the bad hand fate gave him. He meets Iris Alexander a night at the restaurant he works as waiter, she is beautiful and rich, they feel a deep connection but Ash knows it's a mistake to get near her. Their path is full obstacles will they be strong enough to overcome them?

“Flowers don’t bloom for dead pieces of scorched debris.”

This book hit me hard, I've cried a lot, at times I felt helpless but I was strong enough to keep reading it, fortunately I read it quickly and the end came soon with its warmth bringing peace and hope.

Ashton and Iris come from two very different worlds but their souls are more alike than they believe.
I was hooked on their story because their characters are so real, it seems like you can run into them on the streets of your city. I grew attached to them, I couldn't not love them and I hoped they could get their happy ending.
I adored Iris caring soul, she is nice, sweet and she always tries to help others to get a better life.

“Ash isn’t debris. Ash is the only piece left standing after the fire.”

Aly Stiles made me cry twice in a month with her beautifully written stories that stabs you right in the heart but I can't get enough of her writing and I keep reading her works.

I can't wait to get next book in the series and I hope that Iris' father gets his own book.

No one, and I mean NO. ONE. does depth like Aly Stiles does. Ashton Morgan: Apartment 17B was very likely my absolute top read of 2020 (even though it doesn’t come out until February of 2021, I’m claiming it in this crappy year like the treasure that it is!).

This story holds topics that are heavy and press on your heart, but there are glimmers of light that lift it just as much. The characters are some of the best written that I have read (...”met”?) in quite some time. I truly hope that the reader picks up on, and appreciates, all the thought Aly puts into the details, plot points, and characters in her stories, but nothing has hit quite as impactfully as this one.

It was stunning. It was heart-wrenching. It was hopeful.

I can’t sing many more praises for the beauty of this book and the talent of this author.

I really enjoyed this book!! I’ve been a fan of Alyson Santos since her Nightshifts Black series!! This was a sweet story with a lot of heart and a touch of rawness that made you ache for the main character!!

Ashton should be living his best life...on the verge of getting his degree in engineering, he has to make a life altering choice due to his piece of shit mother and drop with just several months left of school so he can help take care of his kid brother. He moves back home and takes on 2 jobs just to make ends meet.

Iris Alexander was raised on wealth but she never let it go to her head. She loved helping people and was sweet as can be. She meets Ashton one night when she goes out with her sister and her friends to a restaurant where Ashton is their waiter. Her bitch sister, Ivy, makes such a huge fool of Ash just because he’s not privileged and causes the poor guy such strife but Iris sees so much in him that she wants to get to know him...

And they eventually see each other again when he is none other than one of her fathers’ landscapers working on a project....thus starting a whirlwind affair between two totally different people who are unlikely to last. At least in Ashton’s eyes. He had to work for everything and even moreso now when his mother drops a bomb on their heads and his life gets more complicated than ever.

Can they make it work? Or is it impossible for two people with completely different backgrounds destined to fail from the start?

I loved Iris and Ash. They were beautiful souls connected in ways that didn’t make sense and it was a bumpy road to happiness but no one deserved good things in life more than he did. He was selfless and responsible and cared so much for his brother that he put his own dreams on hold to take care of him. I loved Ash’s little brother, he was so cute and Iris’s dad was exactly what all dads should be. I hated Ashton’s mother and Iris’s materialistic bitch sister. But they played their roles well and it made for an angsty and entertaining story.

I definitely recommend this story to my fellow romance lovers!! It’ll make you smile, laugh, swoon and wanna hit something at times but it’s worth the journey

The stream of emotions... Shivers down my spine...

Ashton had to drop out of college in order to pay the bills, put food on the table and to start paying off the massive debt his mother has racked up. He has a little brother to take care of after all. Working from dawn till night, only to get up again the next morning on repeat.
Barely surviving.

Iris is a student, she lives a wealthy life. She doesn't seem to have a care in her life, but she's still very down to earth and doesn't take anything for granted. She's genuine, nice and quite adorable.

When Ashton and the crew end up working on her father's property, she's immediately drawn to him. His face is a cacophony of hurt, anger, defiance and longing. She falls for him deeply.

He can't escape his life and she has no place in it. When his mother bails on them again, it only proves how right he was.

This was so deep, so pure, so raw. My heart cried while I was reading it. I choked up again and again, with tears streaming down my face. Didn't even dare to breathe, otherwise I'd be wailing uncontrollably.

P.S.: Iris' Dad is a legend!

ME ENCANTÓ!!

Ashton Morgan: Apartment 17B (Wreck Me #1) by Aly Stiles is a new adult, opposites attract romance told in first person dual POV.

Ashton Morgan has a hard life filled with so much pain and disappointment that he’s learned it’s best to never hope for more. He’s had to drop out of college so he could work two jobs to provide for his unreliable mother and eight-year-old brother. Good things never happen to Ash, and he doesn’t understand why a girl like Iris, with the world at her fingertips, would want anything to do with a nobody like him.

Iris Alexander has all the advantages of being raised by her famous billionaire father. When she meets Ashton, she’s drawn to him. She doesn’t care that he’s poor. She sees his character and wants to know him. Despite being from different worlds, Iris is determined to have Ash in her life, but he keeps pushing her away. If only she could help him see what she sees, then maybe he would finally understand his worth.

I loved Iris and Ashton’s story. As characters, both well-developed and likeable. Ash was such a good, kind, responsible, hardworking guy - the kind that gets beat down but keeps fighting to survive. My heart broke for him as life continued to deal him one devastating blow after another. Iris was kindhearted, compassionate, and just the person Ash needed to help him hope again.

The secondary characters were great too. I loved Iris’s father, Kyle. It’s common in books for a rich parent to oppose a child’s relationship with somebody poor, and they’re often portrayed as heartless, cold, shallow, insensitive, and materialistic. He wasn't like that at all. I loved how he saw Ashton’s potential from the start, never seeing him as "less than" or "not good enough." Kyle was encouraging, nurturing, and the reason that Iris was so warm and tenderhearted. Iris’s sister, Ivy, somehow wasn’t influenced in the same way. She was horrible! Snobby, rude, entitled, and mean-spirited.

Ivy is the kind of character you love to hate - definitely an antagonist in this story, causing huge problems, but she got what was coming. I’d love to see Ivy grow and change as she serves her dad-imposed punishment, and I’m hoping to see her redeemed in an upcoming book. Regardless, I want to read whatever comes next. This story was touching, heartbreaking, and angsty; it was also sweet and romantic. I highly recommend it.

Ashton Morgan is a victim of circumstance and responsibility. He is loyal, fierce and hard working. But there is so much more. Tenderness, kindness, and love radiate from him.

There's a sadness to Ashton, a heaviness.

Iris Alexander is from a world much different then Ashton's. She is so much more than the world that surrounds her. She is so kind and gentle. Her heart is enormous.

I can understand his hesitation to toward my world. A lot of the time I don't want to be in it either.

Ashton Morgan is an emotional and beautifully written story. It will take a hold of your heart and not let it go until the final page. I loved the "feels" and the angst! The love in Iris's heart that she refuses to let go. The gut wrenching choices that Ashton must face will have you reaching for the tissues!

A huge shout out to Kyle Alexander, Iris's dad. What an amazing character! Can we get his story next? I should also mention Iris's sister, Ivy. You know a character is well written when you can HATE HER! She made me so mad!

You can survive anything for one more day if there's hope the next one will be better.

Another great Aly Stiles read! Grab yours today and let the "feels" begin!

Is there no end to the incredible writing talent that is Aly Stiles?

Meeting Ashton Morgan was an eye opener, he is a young man with a beautiful soul who has sacrificed his future to work night and day to keep the rent paid and food on the table for himself and his little brother, taking all the responsibility for the family while their mother lives in her own fantasy world.

One night while working at a restaurant he is harassed by a group of obviously over-privileged women who take pleasure out of treating him like he is dirt, except for one who leaves him a note and a huge tip, this is Iris. It is a shock for both of them when he comes to work on the landscaping at her father's house, but there is an undeniable attraction between them. Sadly, as Ashton feels so defeated and beat down by life he believes that their worlds are so far apart that there is no future for them. But Iris is a very determined girl who refuses to give up so easily, so by showing him little kindnesses she tries to make him believe that their circumstances and backgrounds do not define who they are as people and should not stand in the way of their happiness.

It is really heartbreaking to watch as Ashton deals with one disaster after another and even though Iris has never experienced such hardships she supports him the best she can. One of the most touching parts of the story is when he hurts his shoulder and Iris helps him by giving him a shoulder massage, there is so much sexual tension between them I thought my kindle would explode, but it was good to see that Ashton was at last accepting that someone could love him just as he is.

This story will make your heart hurt for Ashton a fellow human being who is suffering so much. Aly is incredible, her writing she brings such feelings out of the depths of your soul that you wish you could step into the book and help him. But the story is not all dark and painful, you experience the joy of Ashton's brother Braydon playing in the pool. Iris's sister Ivy is a cruel and nasty piece of work and you have to cheer when her father steps in and cuts off her allowance. I totally fell in love with Ivy's Dad Kyle who is so down to earth despite being a billionaire. When you would expect him to protect his daughter by forbidding Ashton to see her again, he was able to see his potential and welcomed him along with Braydon into their home. He also gently guided his daughter as she struggled to become part of Ashton's world.

All in all this is a wonderful heart-stopping piece of writing that is impossible to put down. Too bad this is only February as I would like to say this is the best book of the year, but without a doubt it will be in my top 5 for 2021.

Ashton Morgan is selfless. While at home on break from attending college it becomes apparent that his mother isn't capable of supporting his younger brother, much less herself, so he knows he has to take matters into his own hands. He is just shy of graduation, but he can't leave his little brother alone, so he drops out of school and works hard to support their family. He's beaten down, he's tired, but he hasn't given up.
The first time Iris sees Ashton she knows there is something special about him. She can see it in his eyes, there is something that she cannot let go of. When their paths cross mutiple times she does everything in her power to try to make him see he is more than what he has been reduced to.
There are times that he thinks he doesn't have what it takes to support himself and his brother, but he also doesn't like taking handouts. Iris is too good for him and he doesn't need saved. This is a story of hope. This is a story about second chances in life and finding someone that sees the real you, even if you feel lost. It's angsty and beautiful.

This is an incredibly lovely story about two of the nicest characters I've ever read about. From the very start I knew I was going to thoroughly enjoy both main characters and my opinion only solidified the longer I read. Iris is so sweet and so grounded and one of those female characters you know you'd be best friends with. Ashton was responsible and reliable and so sadly down on his luck. I adored him, wanted to grab him up and hug him and make it all go away, just like Iris. What a wonderful book full of hope and love. A new favorite from Aly....she outdid herself with this amazing love story.

I loved Iris she's so kind-hearted, an ideal heroine. I sympathise with Ashton 🥺. The dynamic between him and his little brother is heartwarming at the same time sad. Despite great characterization, the writing style is a bit tedious. The emotion is there yet I need more grip... It's not bad, it's not good either it's just average storytelling.

In Ashton Morgan Apartment 17b Aly Stiles shares a touching story and shows that even in the darkest moments the gifts of unconditional love and kindness can be transformative.

There are many reasons that elevate a character to hero status but being an exceptional human being is by far the most attractive and Ashton Morgan wore his title well. Downtrodden and surrounded by despair could very well be defined as this character. Ashton was someone that truly did not know his worth but his refusal to be defeated by a constant stream of obstacles and his staying true to the goodness within him made him a beautifully devised character. He never appeared weak even at his lowest moments, stripped bare with nothing left to give he always found a reserve.

Iris Alexander was a kind, gentle person that recognized her privilege and blessings in life. With her refusal to be blinded to the suffering of others she was an exception in the crowd she was part of. Iris's strength, kindness and persistence were not overblown or fantastical but core to her make up. She was a genuinely decent person who managed to recognize decency in others.

This work was more than just a love story, it was about friendship and loyalty and not giving up when times are hard. I fell into this book one evening and did not crawl out until the sun was rising the next morning. Ashton Morgan is a powerful and passionate story that many people will identify with, immediately. Ashton Morgan is every person who has known struggle, loss and sacrifice. His courage, frustration, and despair will trigger emotion in anyone who has had days when the victory is surviving to see the next one.

Ashton's story resonated deeply in my soul and mind. I closed the book and just sat for a long while about how real the truths of his journey are. The integrity with which he responded to each challenge life brought to him is truly remarkable.

I absolutely adored Iris Alexander. Her conviction is unparalleled. She knew exactly what spoke to her heart and refused to back down. Her innate goodness and respect for humanity catapulted her to the list of my all time favorite heroines. She is just spectacular. Iris is the person I would hope to be if I ever have monetary means to never worry about financial security. Her beauty is innate and soul deep.

The romance between Ashton and Iris is spontaneous, emotional, angsty, painful, and simply beautiful. Their humor, witty conversation, and intense chemistry had me rooting for their survival from the moment they met. I felt like I had a personal stake in their success.

Aly Stiles has once again written a story about the immense beauty and pain of the human condition. She makes me think about the way I view others and choose to live my life. These are all of the things a good writer should do. Her ability to deliver a gorgeous story filled with passion and unforgettable characters is both masterful and inspiring. Her books are ones I reach for when I need to be reminded what passion and hard work do for the soul.
