Maggie Lee may be an inept hitwoman, but she pays her debts.
When Maggie told her friend Mia that she’d help her out of any mess she found herself in, she meant it. Of course they’d both been fifteen at the time.
Maggie hasn't seen Mia in forever, until she suddenly shows up, intent on holding Maggie to her promise. Mia's husband has disappeared, taking their money with him and she desperately needs it.
While Maggie has other things to worry about, namely protecting her father from whoever is trying to kill him, Mia makes it impossible for her to not reciprocate the favor.
Bound by a pinky swear, Maggie tracks down Mia’s soon-to-be-ex but doing so puts her at odds with the guys who have her back: Patrick, Zeke and Gino.
If Maggie’s not careful, her long-ago promise could have deadly consequences…especially since her psychic friend has predicted she’s going to die.
When an old friend comes around looking to cash in on a favor, of course Maggie gets involved. With a lot of help from her four legged friends, she’ll get to the bottom of it. This series keeps getting better and better. Love Maggie and her gang. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
This long standing series is back with another look into Maggie Lee's life. Never a dull moment for Maggie. When a old friend shows up out of the blue asking for help and holding a secret over her heard Maggie has no choice to help. Patrick and Gino still messing with her heart. Which one will she choose, if at all? I know who I am rooting for. Then there's her father and the rest of her family. Someone always wants her time and attention. I really enjoyed this book. Action packed from start to finish. Starting to get very fond of Gino. Can't wait to see what's next for Maggie.
Another great adventure with the animals, Patrick, Ian, Zeke, and the crazy sisters. How does one woman get into so much trouble yet survive unscathed? Maggie’s dad gets shot and she needs to find out why. Not as easy as it sounds. A high school friend shows up and asks Maggie for help in finding her husband. Turns out the husband is not all he is supposed to be. There are some near misses, the window washers fortunately miss their target. Armani predicts some bad things but she isn’t always on target and fortunately in this case, she is not. No one dies and everyone survives to have another adventure. Great humor and surprises.
Just what I needed after a month of reading a lot of nonfiction - a fun, quick read. I think just about every character in the series showed up in this book. Read my full review at Girl Who Reads.
Armani predicts that Maggie will die and everyone is on edge. An old friend from Maggie's past calls in a favor and Archie is muddying the waters again. Griswald is keeping secrets that puts the family in jeopardy while Maggie is being pulled in different directions by Patrick and Gino. The pet menagerie comes in handy multiple times in the enjoyable adventure where Maggie is coming to terms with her family responsibilities, future, and friendships.
Another winner! I loved this book - actually, I love the whole series. Maggie, the reluctant hitwoman, finds herself being pulled in multiple directions as everyone seems to need something from her. But who does she help first? Her murder boss, her murder mentor, her niece, her aunts, the police - no matter what she does, someone will be unhappy. As she navigates this, a former friend of hers implores her for help, citing a favor owed from when they were kids. Trying to repay that favor leads Maggie into even more dangerous situations and drama.
This book is filled with humor and mystery as Maggie struggles to find the right thing (or the least wrong) to do. While this is part of a series, this is a stand alone novel. However, its so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is one of my favorites and is on my must read authors' list.
It takes all Maggie's energy to keep her family (and animals) safe. When fortune-telling friend Armani wakes Maggie up telling her she's going to die, you know it's time to buckle your seat belt and read on for a wild ride. And JB Lynn doesn't disappoint! #25 in the series is as exciting and funny as the 24 that preceded it. The animals joined in, making this adventure one of the best as I raced to get to the end and see if Armani's prediction would come true. An awful lot goes on, with a lot of old friends and new enemies. I love the animals and their unflappable loyalty to Maggie, yet also attentive to their other favorite people. As always, it's over too soon and I am left waiting to see what will happen next. I LOVE this series! (And I keep going back and rereading it from the beginning before a new book comes out. It never grows old!)
No matter which book in the series you start with you will not be lost. Great action and lots of fun. Armani’s predictions may not always work out how you think they will but they do work out. Now she has predicted Maggie’s death. And when a childhood friend shows up to collect the favor Maggie owes her it may prove Armani right. Maggie is now in a race to settle her debt and keep those she loves safe. Great book and series!
I was disappointed the story was hard to follow and I think it was I didn't follow the series to understand how the character came to work for a job boss and how the men came to be in her life and why she can talk to her pets and they can talk to her, I was anticipated more actions in the story. I felt I miss out on understanding the characters because I didn't read the first series, this is not a stand alone story. Read first series.
Yep it’s possible to get better in these books and I just didn’t see it coming!! I’m now looking at the other series by our fearless writer because I smelled some spin-off energy a while back and I’m sure that I’ll burn through what’s written in this series way too fast!!
This is one of my absolute favorite book series......I actually wait awhile to read the new story because I want to savor it. I love when the good guys win and MS. Lynn makes sure of that.
I love every hit woman book so far. Ive read every single one and it is everything a reader could want, mystery, suspense, a lot of flirting and of course the pets are heros, too. Once again J. B Lynn crushes it. Five stars
Skeletons coming out of closets are a bad day for Maggie. She owes a favor she can't repay. Everyone wants her to find a deadly Lion. Key word being deadly. Now she has to save her family from their own secrets.
This was enlightening. Maggie is at a crossroads and making decisions that affect everyone. She needs people she can trust and now she is learning whom they are. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
YES, I am still reading this series and this one delivered from beginning to end. This entire series parallels the TV series SHAMELESS. Wacked out Dad, constant drama, dysfunctional family, and a strong young female holding it together... Still turning the pages... enjoy...
another wonderful book in this series! I love the complex, interesting and quirky characters. Lots of twists and turns will keep you wanting to turn the page! A must read!
This is a fantastic addition to this series. For such a long running series, each book gets better and better. I highly recommended this book and series.
It’s always a thrill to see that the latest book in the series has downloaded. I love Maggie’s interaction with her animal posse. Again her friend, Armani, has given her a clue about what’s to come.
Another great adventure with Maggie and the gang. It was good to see so many favorites back and the mysteries just keep growing. Can't wait for the next book.
