Now settled into the Port City gay community, Lonnie wants to pay it forward, so when he sees Scot looking uncomfortable at a huge party, he takes the white wolf under his wing. Scot, who misses the family pack he grew up with, wants to be more than friends too fast, and Lonnie's going to have to figure out how to let him down easy. But Scot brings up a question Lonnie doesn't have an easy answer for: where is his pack?
Hi there! I am a writer of gay furry fiction--but you probably know that if you've seen my book listing here. I live in California with my husband Kit, and when I'm not writing, we like to go out to eat and watch movies. We travel a lot, too, mostly around the West Coast, but occasionally to the midwest and east.
I blog at http://www.kyellgold.com/wpblog about upcoming travel plans, upcoming books and news, general writing principles, gay rights, and whatever else seems interesting. And I co-host a podcast, called "Unsheathed," where we talk about the craft of writing and the furry fandom, sometimes at the same time.
If you have a question about any of the books, check the FAQ on my website and then ask away! :)
A lovely novella following up on Dude, Where's My Fox, exploring the complexities of life, love, and relationships. It is a story that feels real while avoiding cliches. It may be short, but it does the job well - it's short enough to read in one (long) session, but strong enough to come back to again. And of course, Teagan's illustrations add a wonderful extra dimension to Kyell's words.
What I love most about Kyell Gold's "Cupcake" novellas is how cozy they are: both in their length and content. They're what I'd describe as perfect comfort food—easy to pick up, and leaving you wanting more. Gold's strength has always been his ability to draw up such vivid characters and relationships with a keen sense for emotional dynamics. His writing elicits more investment and depth in only a few hundred words than most authors accomplish with over hundreds of thousands. It also helps that the subject matter of this story is clearly one with which the author has personal experience, and thus some insight.
While this story doesn't have the fun 'sexcapade' hook as the first one, it still offers a deep exploration of relationships and community, likeable characters, and intimate scenes, that will please any fan of Gold's work.
An awesome read as always. I always love books by this author there's always so much emotion involved, and the story lines keep you involved. Can't wait to read the next by this author.
