About the author

Jimmy Akin (b. 1965) was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant pastor or seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith. Eventually, he was compelled in conscience to enter the Catholic Church, which he did in 1992. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is a Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to This Rock magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

As usual, this doesn't cover everything, but touches on a lot of the key things to know about what the bible says about the end times, and what it doesn't say (or at least what passages that some think have to do with the end times, even when they don't or don't primarily talk about that. A good one to read if recovering from the Left Behind series.

Jimmy Akin does it again, so knowledgeable and adept at explaining the tenets of our faith. I would've liked more info about the resurrection of the body and what that entails/how we are to believe that will happen, but the questions he chose were very interesting.

I enjoyed the author, not the book

I had higher expectations. A rudimentary treatment of the topic. Still, a concise and educated explanation of Catholic thought on the matter.
