After reading Pulse, I discovered this gem of a short story that dives into what happened with the infamous LF, the DJ from the big festival, prior to the festival. In Pulse, we knew that something had happened with him, but it was never made clear. It makes it even more apparent how much LF’s boss favors objects and fame over human life. He makes it seem easy to simply rid the world of anything that may alter his success and his place at the top.
I am hoping that at some point we find out that the notes LF wrote in his phone make it out into the world, so his boss can be exposed.

One of the best parts of this short story are the videos that are embedded into it. It truly heightens the intensity of the subject matter. Find the link to the short story in my bio and make sure that you follow up the short story with the full one in Pulse!

This was a really short book, It only had 20 pages but it was impact full. B. A. Bellec as always does an amazing job in setting up the atmosphere. We are introduced to a character named LF, and I was really intrigued to learn more of his back story. The whole DJ and his costume was a unique touch to it. The main villain is shown to be really ruthless and author developed his character really well. This story raises questions like ''Do you have to step on others to make it to the top?'', ''Is it worth it?'' And ''How much are you willing to lose yourself in the pursuit of being successful?''

All in all, this was a really strong novella and it did an amazing job in setting up the premise for his next book Pulse, which I am really excited to read soon, especially after reading such an amazing prequel to it. I was already a fan of B. A. Bellec when I read Someone's Story and now this prequel was really intriguing as well. Can't wait to dive into the world of Pulse.

This was an amazing prequel. It really sets the tone for Pulse. Once I finished LF, I was left saying to myself, “wait, what just happened?” I immediately wanted to pick up Pulse and continue reading the story.

This was a quick short story that highlighted the pits and falls of stardom and the lengths that some people go to reach it. As they say, "All that glitters isn't gold"... I loved the main characters self reflections and seeing the evils of the not so good side of what is lurking in the dark of those in charge of "Fame".

As you might have guessed spoilers ahead. The ending was predictable, who would have thought the character dies. What's the point of not fixing the economy, if no one is going to have money to buy your products then no one is going to buy your products. It is an odd motive to try and sell products if the economy is in shambles. It was also obvious that wearing a costume and not having your face known to the public might cause trouble. Basically, you got a masked musician who yelled at their very dark and powerful boss who works well with technology that they want to quit, and what do you expect. A short story with the potential if tweak things here and there, and add a less predictable twist at the end.

I felt like the whole story was a waste of my time and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

It reminds me of The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto that took a bad turn. Corporate greed and psycho mind warps.
