The title of the book led me to expect one of those stories about how getting stuck in a cabin alone with Darcy leads to a racy premarital encounter but that's not it. Darcy escorts her home from Hunsford, they kiss and get engaged , and she realizes he is not so bad without any angry confrontation.
This was a nice fun quick ready. While at Rosings Elizabeth receives a letter basically telling her her mother is sick and to come home. Darcy offers to take her home and it is an uncomfortable ride.
This book is considered steamy and there was a bit of kissing through out there is no anticipation of vows. We do get a steamy scene at the end, very good.
I enjoyed this book and will probably pick it up again for a quick read.
Given the length of the book, the action moved quickly. No way D and L would get so physical that fast! The wedding night was steamy. Everything wrapped up quickly. Left me wanting for a bit more of their life at P.
Seems like a series of unlikely scenarios throughout. The “kiss” scene in the carriage is the most unlikely with Elizabeth having so much on her mind against him. Overall, if you like a basic love story, enjoy.
I liked this book, even though I prefer longer ones. The flow was excellent, the characters well depicted, and it was a satisfying diversion for an evening.
2.5 Wow, I’m not sure what this was about, all pretty convoluted, not much made sense. Steamy? Yes, I guess the last few pages were but even that was pretty flat.
