A disappointing end to a highly enjoyable series. It was rather anticlimactic and I’m left with more questions than answers. Did Adi’s choice change EVERYTHING across the board and, if so, why? Do her 6 remember her? Is the Academy still a vampire school; why is Connor there? I could go on. The series as a whole was wonderful, as was the majority of this last book. The ending just seemed rushed and not well put together.

Overall this was a pretty good book. I liked finding out more about where Adi came from and who her parents were. The story flowed really well and never dragged or got boring. I really enjoyed the fact that she got to go back to Raven at the end but in a much healthier environment with her 6 soulmates. It felt like it was the life they all deserved to have without having to be on the run and fight for their life.

I don’t know how to feel about this book. I really enjoyed that we got some answers. But the ending......I just wasn’t satisfied. Yes, they all recognized something in each other right away but I would have preferred something deeper. Stronger. Like just because her dad said they wouldn’t remember her or her them, their love was just so strong and so powerful that they did.

Well unholy F bomb!!

These authors are ruining me... I was happy, I cried - but I don't think I like the ending. It didn't feel right or satisfactory. I'm ol' school and like my endings tied up neatly with a bow on top, and this was anything but!!

However, the amount of feels and quality writing can't be denied.

Adeline is on the run with her guys trying to escape the Vampire Council. This beautiful group of vampires are no longer her enemies, they are also her beloved. Not only are they determined to keep her safe but they want to find answers. Who are her parents? What is her angelic ability? What can keep her safe?

There is plenty to like about Adeline's final story. We get answers regarding her parentage. I was especially pleased with this history and backstory. I appreciated Adeline's personal history. I liked that the guys were all in. Their commitment was apparent. I can't make up my mind about Connor. In concept, it's a great idea but he never fit in with the vampires like I wanted him to. One of my favorite aspects of an RH is the way the guys interact with one another. I like a close brotherhood and Connor threw off the close bond. I would have liked to see them develop more of a closeness. And I can't believe that I am about to say this but, as much as I enjoyed the steamier scenes in the book, I thought they broke up the flow of the story at times. They took away momentum. I have to admit though they were hot. The ending left me with mixed feelings as well. I appreciate the idea of a grand gesture, a great sacrifice in the name of love. This speaks to me. What would you do for love? So the initial ending made me happy. The epilogue sets the tone for how the RH will play out although it did leave me with a few questions. And even though we did get the main picture, I would have been happier with a second epilogue set a year in the future.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Adeline and her guys are on the run. This is tough at times but they are able to mostly take it in stride at least until things really hit the fan. Full of twists and surprises throughout the book as well as the final relationship building they needed. A fulfilling ending to what has been an amazing series by two of my fave authors. If you enjoy paranormal academy reverse harem romance then this is a must read. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

What was that ending??? Lol. The series is a 3 star for me. Although, i did finish the series it felt like the pacing of the series was a bit off. All the action happened towards the end of Book 4. Too much time spent on building and rebuilding the relationships between Adi and her harem. I did like the setting and the characters but it felt like there could have been more to the series.

I read this whole series in a set, so I'm having some trouble directly separating the books. Therefore, I will have one long review for the series as a whole that I will post to each book. That means warning!! There are definitely some spoilers ahead.

I would argue that this book is bad, and that the entire series was bad. The writing is lacking, the plot is lacking, the exposition is not well explored.
I found myself confused while reading and also annoyed at how bad the writing was. This book genuinely feels like something you'd find online written by teenage girls who love reading/writing but haven't quite mastered or grasped how to create a well defined exposition.

I also found the book to be contradictory all around while reading it.
Take Adi, our FMC, for example. The book LITERALLY starts with her wanting to rob a store at gunpoint (fake gun, but ya get it) so that she can get money to help her father with his hospital bills since he has cancer. But then, everything turns around and she has an opportunity to go to an exclusive academy and the school is willing to pay for her father's medical expenses. She immediately gets so so sad about this, but it doesn't fit with the strong-willed girl we saw at the start who was willing to do anything for her father.

Adi's also contradictory as a character with how she flip-flops in her reactions in dealing with other students. Sometimes our homegirl has a backbone and won't take ANY shit from the people being rude. Other times she cowers and doesn't stand up for herself. So who is she? What's her real personality? She inevitably goes to confront the guys about what's going on at the school, and when she finds out, she doesn't fight them enough or ask enough questions. When she figures out what SHE is, she doesn't question anything enough. Like, miss girl... Your whole world has just been flipped upside down. You gotta address this...

As we get further into the series, it just gets worse. This series genuinely lacks any real worldbuilding or character development, and it just feels so stilted and uncomfortable and BORING while you read.
The guys are all so BLAH and the relationship growth is seriously lacking for me throughout.
Our major conflict at the end? So lame, so lackluster. Adi ends up in Heaven and meets her parents, and we get NOTHING here. No real information about where she is, what it's like, etc. We just know she's miserable. Like... fine, but give us something.

The story ends with Adi's soul in all of her guys and them meeting during her first day at the academy (with none of them having any memory of their previous life together). Meh.

By the time we get to the end of the series, I find myself hating it and regretting reading it.
2 stars all around, being generous.

School of Broken Wings in the final book in the Academy of Souls series. It's been a long journey full of mystery and unanswered questions. It was nice to finally get some of the answers we have been looking for. We get to learn more about Adi and where she came from. We finally learn of the secrets that have been brewing about. In the end, we are still left with some new questions.

In this book the group is away from Raven Academy but not out of danger. They are still trying to survive while dealing with the dynamics of their new group. Adi is struggling to deal with her feelings for Connor. The guys are definitely struggling with Connor. All while they are hiding from the Vampire Council.

I don't want to give away anything that happens in the book. I will say there was never a dull moment. Always something going on. We also had plenty of sexy times too. I can say that I don't think anyone saw that ending coming. I love that it was all about what you would do for love. In paranormal books I always get sucked in by a great sacrifice and we definitely got that. The epilogue is where you get a couple of questions. I guess one way to look at it is, it was left open so you could imagine your own future? I wasn't disappointed with it, just wasn't really what I expected. Overall it has been a really good series and it had a good ending.

This book is the conclusion to our series. We pick up where we last left off with our characters on the run and the story doesn't slow down from there.

Adeline and her men must decide the next course of action that they need to take to defeat those that are after Adeline. We finally discover all the answers to the questions we've been seeking and draw conclusion to our story. I have to admit this book was really good for me, up until the end. I ugly cried at the end, and then felt hurt with how it concluded. I definitely didn't see that conclusion coming and didn't enjoy it very much, compared to how much I enjoyed all the other books.

This series was really good and took a hold different view of vampires and angels, while the ending wasn't something that I particularly liked it did conclude the series. I still recommend this series for anyone looking for unique take on the genre and who enjoys a good read, just be prepared for a conclusion that you may not enjoy as much.

This was quite a book. Emotionally charged beautiful journey to understand. To see the past and the future. With surprising however epic ending. The connection those 7 share is incredible. The steam was crazy, like really crazy. They fight they go through, very hard. They fought, they loved and they sacrificed. I was unable to put this book down, I just kept turning pages. Quicker and quicker, always on the edge of my chair. Jumping out of my skin. Getting angry with them. Melting how sweet they are to Adeline. I even cried with them. The final chapter practically killed me, drained me emotionally. This book gone through me like a wrecking ball. Not sure I can be whole ever again. It was great series and I will just miss them all so much.

I absolutely loved reading this although for some reason it took me a while. i think its because the cover makes the book look almost sweet which is not at all my cup of tea. However i decided to give it a go as i love both authors and believe me it isnt as sweet as it first appears.
So much to love in this book expecially how well written this last book in the series is giving you an ending that you dont expect but that is also perfect in a warped way, although there were one or two places where it was a bit odd it does makes sence ish.
Really brilliant storey that is truly addictive!!! Be warned once you go down this Rabbit hole you wont want to stop reading until you have finished the series its that good!!!.

OMG I’m going to say get the tissues ready for starters. This book sees the group start in Florida on the run and a few steamy scenes. But when Clarissa attacks they are on the move again and that b!tch gets what she’s owed. We finally find out what Connor is and what it could mean to the boys. The group end up heading to Texas then onto Scotland. Connor proves himself to the boys especially after he spends some time hog tied. We get answers about Adi when they get to Scotland but its also here that you’ll need tissues. It is the most emotional part of the whole series. I fell in love with this series and I’m happy with the way it ended, with steamy scenes, fighting scenes, fun scenes a drunk Adi, heartbreaking scenes this series has it all.

The school has come to an end...so to speak. After 3 books (not including this), we've reached the end, the conclusion to Adi's & the guys' story to this wonderful series!

SoBW has some funny moments sprinkled in to the book, serious moments, drama, cheesy moments, but, overall, moments of love & forgiveness. Questions have been answered, but a few lingering questions also arise, the ending felt like it too has been a little rushed. I have to say, in my opinion, the ending wasn't how I wanted it to be, but hardly anyone gets what the want. However, I loved this series from the beginning (but then it fell flat) & kinda sad this is the end of the journey.

Wicked series

This book is the last in the series and it definitely takes you on a crazy emotional ride of twists and plenty steamy moments. Addy, Alexander, Dante, Finn, Braxton, Nyx and Connor all work together to keep her safe and trying to help her figure out more about her Angel side.
This book gets very emotional near the end but it ends In a great way after Addy's decision. I won't say anymore than that so I don't give away the story. Just pick up a copy and join the ride.

It's sad to see that this series is over. It's an amazing series to fall in love with. Adi finally gets the answers she has been looking for and with her mates by her side she can finally have peace and just live her life. These books keep your attention non-stop focused on the book. Its full of twists and turns to have you consistently at the edge of your seat. I love the way the authors have come together and made a series that is absolutely captivating, I definitely recommend it to everyone.

Okay storyline

This came up on my KU recommended and I read the entire series before posting this review. First off, I agree with most of the reviews I read. There was an age adjustment in my mind of the main character because her being a teenager and reading this is weird and uncomfortable.
There are lots of typos and weird storylines. The making of a great story was underneath the writing but it felt like there was a clash of personalities in solidifying what could have been a great read.

Our Angel Ade is back, she's on the run from the council and vampires other then her men and Connor. It was good to see Connor get integrated into the group. Alexander was a dream the leader that made sure they all got time with her. The last fighting scene was intense. The book weaved a great tale, until the very end that's taking a bit to swallow. That whole going back in time redo makes some sense yet leaves me wanting. A bit conflicted.

Phenomenal read

This has been an amazing series from start to finish. A great plot and the most fantastic characters. This last book had plenty of action and all the feels with a lot of tears ( mostly from me ) lol. This ending was quite a bit different, not bad just different but seriously if I didn't know that there was going to be a novella down the road I would have been mad about it and my rating a lot lower.

Literally Heartbreaking!

Omg, what an absolutely heartbreaking twist of an ending! I mean, MAYBE there's a HEA, but who knows. It was enough to calm my tears, but not quite enough to mend my poor heart. It made for a very memorable finish, to a series that I loved and adored, almost as much as the characters did each other. Thank you for such a wonderful story and I hope we can get a little look into Adeline's future, not too later on down the track.

School of Broken Wings

Well, I was totally not expecting that ending! I love how different it was though and that in the end they are all safe, alive, and do not have to be on the run anymore. They are just free to spend the rest of eternity loving each other. Although, I am hoping for maybe a novella or little short story set in a few years in their future to catch up with them because I'm not ready to say goodbye yet!

All secrets are revealed.
The final book in the series bring closure. No, it's not a perfect ending, but it is the beginning of a new life for the group. A life that has the potential of becoming the perfect ending.

Well written, and the timeline of this book is much improved from the first three books. The relationships feel like they're evolving at a good pace. It doesnt feel rushed, but natural.

More!!

I savored this book, I normally read very quickly. But I wanted to really enjoy this one. So much happens within the storyline. The guys are still hotter than ever and the MC well my heart bleeds for her at the end. I hope there is a snippet of a epilogue to this series as I feel there are unanswered questions I still have , but this book series sucks you in and doeant let go . Another fantastic read!!

In this final book Adelina and her men are on the run from the Council. Stalked by mortal danger they go in search of answers and Adelina discovers an overwhelming truth. We get to know what Connor was hiding and there were important decisions that led to an interesting and intriguing twist in the story. Lot of action, suspense, intense fights, surprises, romance, passion and liked the end that was different, unexpected and left me thinking and using my imagination. A good story!

A twist at the end

Well.... I don't think that I will be buying anything else from this team. Whilst the story was an original concept it didn't really wind up well. Again, it was sorely lacking proof reading and editing out of typos.
The end twist was interesting but never really went anywhere great, and I want to know what happened in the grand scheme of things, in more detail.
I feel like I really over paid for this series.

Enjoyed it

I enjoyed this series but didn't give it five star because it felt more like a university read rather than a high school one. I had to place the characters in college in my mind because the intimate relationships the characters had were way beyond what a 15 year old should be so I just replaced sophomore in high school to sophomore in college. I felt if it could have gone deeper if it had been written purposely as a university paranormal RH.

pieces of a pure soul

School of Broken Wings is book four in the series Academy of Souls by authors C.R. Jane & Mila Young. In this part of the story you find out all the facts and truths about Adeline. It’s a bit heartbreaking at one point- that’s all I’ll say about that. It’s a great story and it should be read- so I won’t give too much away. All I’ll say is that everyone gets a second chance.
Enjoy!!
