The old dog was not needed for his owners. Wolf helped Sirko to become loving and accepted again, and the old dog paid generously to his friend. The book has nice bright illustrations and good for reading to kids from 3 to 8 years old.Retold and illustrated by Olha Tkachenko. I liked the story. Great folktale. The illustrations show the Ukrainian cultural wear which was nice to see.

SHORT SUMMARY AHEAD:

It's basically about a family disowning their old dog, but then the dog meets a wolf who decides to help him make the family see they still need their old dog. Family takes back the dog and then later on the dog remembers the wolf and helps the wolf and they both live happily.
