"Nooooo!!!" That was my immediate reaction when I turned the last page. I did not want this story to be over. It was absolutely perfect in every way. For some reason I assumed this was a light hearted romantic comedy, which it is but it's also SO much more. I feel so privileged that I was able to jump into another K.K. Allen world and it was almost like two books in one. It's the kind of book that grabs your full attention in the first paragraph. I felt so giddy reading about Monica and Zach, theirs is a true love but it definitely doesn't come easily.
While there's no limit of absolutely hilarious moments, steamy scenes that will have you fanning yourself and sweet moments that will have you taking a deep breath and fluttering your eyelashes there's also an intensity to this story that gave this angst lover the drama fix that I needed, I mean K.K. executed this perfectly....such a well balanced recipe of a cup of swoon, a third cup of Holy hotness, mix in your new book boyfriend with a dash of *****I DID NOT SEE THAT TWIST COMING****half a cup of over coming odds to better yourself and encouraging others and just a pinch of 5 star magic and you'll have one of my favorite reading experiences yet!
You definitely don't want to miss this story, Zachary and "Cakes" are ALL the things!!

Under the Bleachers is a romance story where the heroine is a bitch and the hero is the perfect book boyfriend. I wish Miss Allen can bring more balance on her characters.
The stort is sweet. At first I likr Monica. She sounded like a solid heroine character. Sassy, confidence and smart. When she met Zachary, it was match in heaven. When the story progressed, Monica became a OTT drama queen and Zachary became lame.
Don't get me wrong. I still enjoy the book mainly to Zachary kindness.

5 Sweet Stars!
I loved this book! I'm telling you this is a year for new to me authors that have just wowed me! I had a hard time putting this down once I started it. It was really that good!
Monica has some serious walls built up around her heart. She refuses to let any one in. She was hurt terribly by her father leaving when she was younger and will not go through that pain again. She has sworn off all relationships. But then Zach barges his way into her life.
Is it so awful to want a man that will choose me first for once?~Monica
Zach wow! I loved me some Zach. So refreshing to read about a man that's not your typical quarterback playboy manwhore. Zach was super patient and went after what he wanted. No other women compared to Monica. He was so damn lovable.
“People have always asked me to describe my perfect woman. Each time I would give them a different answer because I didn’t know. I never thought I had a type. But things changed when I finally saw you. The next time someone asks me that question, I’ll know exactly how to answer. Because it’s you.”~Zach
Monica and Zach cracked me up with their flirting banter. Monica was so feisty and their chemistry was off the charts. Their relationship was a slow burn. I didn't find it steamy but it didn't come off cheesy to me either if that makes sense. lol It didn't bother me one bit. I feel like any more books are more focused on getting straight to the sex. No build up what so ever. I personally love the build up and could care less if they don't do the dirty right away. But if that's what you're after you better pass this one up. Haha! But if you're after a book filled with a broken woman with a secret and a man that wants to tear down the brick wall she has built up around her heart then you will love this book.
I wanted more! Ugh! I am hoping that we will be getting a book about Monica's sister next with Zach's best friend?
I have already said this once recently but I'm saying it again! I HATE when books have no epilogues! So there! That's the only bad thing I have to say about this book. Lol
I also didn't know there was a book before this one. I'm glad to say I wasn't lost and am defiantly curious about Gavin and Chloe's story. I'll be checking it out soon.

{Under The Bleachers is a companion novel to Up in the Treehouse. You don't have to read Up in the Treehouse to enjoy Under The Bleachers, but I'd highly recommend it!}
Monica Stevens loves chocolate. Oh, and no strings attached flirting. The latest recipient of her flirtation? Zachary Ryan. He's a star quarterback, Seattle's hottest bachelor and he can't stay away from the sassy-mouthed beauty that's taken over his thoughts. But both Monica & Zach have pasts that effect who they are today. Pasts that have seemingly no connection. Pasts that threaten to ruin what could be. Or possibly, what was always meant to be.
Monica isn't looking for love, she won't be burned again. But when the man of her dreams keeps showing up in her life, will she be ready to make room for a future with Zach? Or will her fears over past heartache keep her from the man who would choose her over & over?
My Thoughts:
I loved revisiting the world that K. K. Allen crafted in Up in the Treehouse. It was lovely to read Monica & Zachary's story in Under The Bleachers. Monica was a fave character of mine from the first book, so I was happy to see her get her HEA! And don't even get me started on Zachary Ryan! Loved. Him. I adored how compassionate and patient he was with Monica. And I also thought those moments when he was so open & honest with Monica were beyond precious. But man oh man...that shocking bombshell that separated the two for awhile messed me uppppp!

Zach & Monica's ending brought a smile to my face. They both had been through tragedies that could've sent them running forever but I'm glad that they both stepped out from "under the bleachers" and choose to thrive together.
I have to mention that reading Monica & her sister's confrontation with their dad when they were teens made me pretty darn emotional. And their conversations in the now, as well. I couldn't help but cry. I think that the author so beautifully brought resolution to Monica & her father's relationship in the end, though.
And yayyyy for more Gavin and Chloe!!! I cherished the parts of the story in Under The Bleachers where we could see their relationship progressing. And remember just how freaking special Gav was!
So now, Zachary will join Gavin on my book boyfriend list!
Overall:
It was just as effortless for me to fall in love with Under The Bleachers as it was with Up in the Treehouse! Another 5 star read, easy! K. K. Allen just has a unique way of hooking you into the story and taking you on an emotional roller coaster. One you don't want to end. Stunning storytelling.
P. S. I LOVED THIS BOOK MORE THAN CHOCOLATE CAKE!
I recommend this book for ages 16+.

One of the sweetest romances ever! Filled with hope and promise to change the past! Monica Stevens was careful. She didn't give her heart away. She didn't get into relationships deep. She never wanted her heart to broken again. But, when she meets Zachary Ryan, he changes everything. The man is just larger than life. Sweet and caring. Gorgeous to look at. But, Monica is just so afraid to trust him. Unfortunately, her job requires her to work with him, and the more she gets to know him, she knows that she's in big trouble. He's just so perfect, and she can't stay away. But, Monica is also harboring a secret. One that could end everything. What happens when Zach finds out the truth? And, will Monica be able to trust in Zach?
This was one stellar romance! I loved Zach and Monica together! Their chemistry was amazing! And, you couldn't find a more sweeter guy than Zach! Sure, Monica had her issues. But, she was funny and feisty. She was just afraid to get her heart broken. One could definitely understand that when reading about her past. It wasn't pretty.
This was also a sports romance. A football one. So, there was some training and game time. Charity work also came into play. And, Zach was definitely one to give back as he expresses the need to advocate against bullying and how he is inspired to appreciate people who came into his life to help him while his own family wasn't the best growing up. He was just such refreshing character.
The romance between this couple wasn't all that steamy. Not so much fade-to-black scenes. But, it was more sensual and about the chemistry between the two. I liked how the author included the cooking and food scenes to show how they connected on all bases not just in the bedroom. But, when it came to that secret that Monica was keeping to herself, we saw a whole different side of Zach. Yes, he was blind-sided, but man was he ever angry. And, what a dummy I was. I never saw it coming!!
Well, this was one sweet romance! And, I loved it! The characters. The story lines. The big reveal. And, the romance. It was one beautiful story of trying to bury the past and trusting again. One not to be missed...

After reading and absolutely loving K. K Allen's previous book Up in the Treehouse I was excited to get stuck into Under the Bleachers and just like Up in the Treehouse this book didn't disappoint.
“When There’s Chemistry There’s a Way”
Monica and Zachary's story was an emotional read, and I was hooked from the very first page. I liked Monica, who was sassy, funny, creative, and independent. As for Zach well, what can I say loved him such a gentleman who knows what he wants. He saw something in Monica and wouldn't give up on, and l adored the way he was with her. Both had been through heartbreaks in their past that had left a lasting effect, especially Monica.
“Zachary Ryan is a fairytale. And I don’t believe in those.”
“She’s fighting so hard to keep me away from her heart, but she knows she’ll lose.”
I adored the connection and the romance between them. Theses two shared some emotional and tense scene together, and wow I didn't see that twist coming. Well played to K.K as I had no clue and I loved that as it made for a mouth opening no way moment. I think the way K.K made that particular aspect of the story come together, in the end, was beautifully done.
I loved seeing Chloe and Gavin again from Under the bleachers and seeing how life was moving on for them. This book can be read as a standalone, but you know me, I would never suggest that and anyway you can't miss out on Chloe and Gavin's beautiful written emotional story.
Under the Bleachers was a beautifully written, poignant book about friendship, love, forgiveness and moving on. It had just the right amount of drama with well-developed characters that you can’t help but love. I can't wait to see what KK has in store for us next.

This story was just irresistible and completely captivating. I honestly couldn't stop reading once I had started and ended up reading the entire book in a single sitting.
The first thing that blew me away was the impeccable writing. I was so impressed with the caliber of the author's writing. She has a beautiful way with words and the writing feels very familiar and easy. The plotting of the story was clever and heartfelt. I loved how unpredictable the story was.
These characters really are incredible. They have so much depth and they experience such intense character growth. These are the kinds of characters that you can't help but fall madly in love with. These characters really pulled at my heartstrings. The author writes them beautifully. The reader gets to step into their shoes and it's such an intimate experience.
The romance in this story is a powerful one. Monica and Zach are starcrossed lovers, even if only one of them knows this. There are things stacked against them but they fall in love nonetheless and their romantic journey is one for the books. Their journey is one that you have to experience for yourself. It is one that will leave you feeling so many emotions.
Overall, this was a masterpiece love story that kept my heart pounding in my chest. It feels like it's been so long since I've fallen so in love with a love story. This story will have you feeling a plethora of emotions. It's one that you won't want to miss out on!

Overall I enjoyed Under the Bleachers, but I found the heroine, Monica, too hot and cold throughout the book to really love it. As much as I sympathized with her and her past heartbreak, I found myself continually frustrated and annoyed by her behavior. It was such a contrast to the hero, Zach, who was beyond patient with all of her back and forth. He did make a few mistakes along the way and jumped to a few conclusions, but he just seemed to put in so much more effort than Monica.
The book started off a bit slow for me and it took a while before I really got into it. The time jumps were a great way to reveal things piece by piece and to progress the story, but they were also a bit confusing and didn't always flow very well. There were a few times I had to relisten/check that I didn't miss something. The other woman drama and all the back and forth between Monica and Zach dragged this story out unnecessarily. I thought the twist in the story was good though and helped really drive home all of Monica's fears and insecurities.
I love duet style narration and Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross never disappoint. Their amazing chemistry really shined during the more playful scenes between Monica and Zach. A chapter from Monica's past really stood out to me not only for the significance to the plot, but also because of the particularly emotional performance by Kai Kennicott. Under the Bleachers was entertaining, but I didn't love it. The book is part of an interconnected series, but it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

I feel like I say this everytime and I probably do, but I seriously fall more in love with KK Allen's writing with every book I read. By now you know I live for angst and this lady rocks it every single time. I LOVE her words and her characters. These two were amazing, their emotional journeys, the way they were brought together, the angst and back and forth of their relationship and then the connection between them was just everything. I was living while reading this book. I cried, I laughed and I swooned so damn hard. Zach was so darn amazing.

I love the way K.K. Allen weaves twists and turns into her romance.
With years of feeling like she has lived in the shadows of others, Monica was stubborn but absolutely deserving of putting herself first, as we all are. If I'm honest, the agonizing slow burn of this one had me weary. With Monica resistant to the idea of dating Zach simply because of his career, I wasn't sure the repetitive back-and-forth was worth the build up—but it absolutely was. While I predicted the direction of the story, an additional element was added that completely surprised me. It was such a whirlwind moment!
Priding himself on leadership, Zach was a great hero. I really enjoyed reading about his charity work, knowing the end result is the setting of book four, Over the Moon. While they can be read separately, this series has such a fun way of connecting the characters.

This was super good and ended up coming from an angle I was totally not expecting and I'm so glad it did! It was sweet, funny, surprisingly emotional (like I had to stop a few times to will back impending tears) angsty, and had a great message about not letting fear control your life and forgiveness. I understand Monica so much better now (I had thought her actions sometimes strange in Up in the Treehouse.) Zach is a gem and I loved his big heart. Great read, just WOW!

I loved this book! I hope there will be a sequel I am not ready to say good bye to Gavin and Chloe and Monica and Zack!! There was no epilogue so that gives me hope foe a sequel!!!

Monica works so hard to be emotionally independent, she never lets guys get close, and she's happy with that. But after she cracks and agrees to go out with American football star Zach, things are about to change.

This is a follow up to Allen's Up In The Treehouse, but it works very well as a standalone.
I really liked a good chunk of this. I thought that it was really flirty and fun between Zach and Monica. It's a little bit sporty, but not too much - it focuses a lot more on Bellecurve, the marketing company Monica works at; and Zach's side projects.
I thought the background was very natural and smooth, feeling like a well-rounded setting for their story to take place. I actually really enjoyed the work scenes, showing Monica's passion for what she does.
The part I especially loved about the plot was the big twist - I did not see that one coming!
I don't want to say anything, because yeah, you should read that part for yourselves!
The story feels like it starts somewhere in the middle of Zach and Monica's acquaintance, and the timeline happen to jump around a bit, sometimes in very unexpected ways. Sometimes it was really well done to show the histories of Zach and Monica; but at other times, it left me baffled and turning back the page to see what was happening. (The one that stood out was Monica's flashback to falling down the bleachers - it read as a current event, rather than a flashback, and I had to go back and re-read a couple of times working out why she was/wasn't in hospital in the next scene.)
I really liked Zach for 95% of the time. He's cool, funny, and really relaxed for an up-and-coming Seattle celebrity. He's very sweet and patient, he's not afraid of his emotions. He's also not afraid to drive the desire between him and Monica to breaking point, every time they meet.
Oh yes, and he's an amazing cook what more could you ask for!
The only hiccup I had was when his attitude suddenly changed later in the book for a short period. It felt out of character, and almost wedged in there to make sure there was enough strife and drama to their relationship.
The biggest problem I had was with Monica. I did not like her. That was a surprise. I've enjoyed Allen's previous characters, and when I started reading about this one - a complete commitmentphobe who enjoys flirting and male company, but doesn't want to let her walls down, because she knows she's stronger alone. I was really excited, I thought I'd really connect with this character, because.... hello, commitmentphobe!
To be fair, I didn't mind Monica when she's with her friends, or working, or even when she's innocently flirting with Zach. She seems pretty normal and likeable.
I think the problem I had was that her head was so full of Zach from the beginning, and she was already relationship-minded when it came to him. It made it a very stark contrast whenever she pulled away. Which also felt quite repetitive - whenever it felt like there was a chance to move forward, Monica would pull back three steps.
I know she has daddy and abandonment issues, but it just came across as spoilt and overreacting.
I know that NA relationships can't be smooth and boring, but the repetitiveness made some of the drama feel contrived.
Overall, it was a fun, flirty drama, and I'm intrigued to read Chloe and Gavin's story.

Under the Bleachers is KK Allen's stunning follow-up to Up in the Treehouse. Once again I was astonished by the intensity of the story and Allen's writing. Really, I should have known yet it took my by surprise. The story kept me completely captivated I find that days later I'm still thinking about it. I spent a great part of my reading experience feeling intense heartache and forlorn. But there's so much more to it. Monica is just a fascinating character and Zach , well he's simply Zach.
When we meet Monica in Up in the Treehouse she was the good time, no commitments kinda girl. She's intent on staying this way and maintains her guard. When Under The Bleachers opens she and Zach Ryan are on a very interesting date, one that establishes their chemistry and connection and makes Monica throw up her walls. From then on out, we see the push and pull between Monica and herself and Monica and Zach. Monica's is deeply wounded by the past. Her psyche and heart appear to be permanently damaged and it really doesn't seem like there is any hope for resolution. How can she ever move forward when she is so rooted in the past?
Allen really knows how to write angst. Monica waxes and wanes about what she feels, what she should do and not do about Zach and is intensified by the amazing dynamic they share while working together. The back and forth isn't just because of her personal fear about what she feels for Zach. Zach's profession and the PR obligations add an element that's beyond what either of them can control. Allen makes the reader feel her uncertainly as she exposes exactly what caused Monica's issues of mistrust.
Zach is a dream boat - lordy, that man!! He proves himself to be a generous, considerate and beyond patient man. Although Monica recognizes this she really can't seem to move past the hurt of her past.
"Zachary Ryan is a fairytale. And I don’t believe in those."
I could expound on him forever but so much of who he is is in what he does, and I don't want to give any more of the story line away. There's a great twist, one I didn't see coming AT ALL, and it made me start second guessing Monica's actions from earlier in the story. It made me want to re-read before I'd even finished it for the first time. Allen's writing is wonderful on all counts; plot execution, dialogue, and creating incredible chemistry between Monica and Zach. Once again Allen delivers a story built upon complex characters and complex emotions. At the heart of it, it's a story about finding a way to forgive the wrongs down to us, to find compassion in others actions, and just how that act soothes the soul. It's simply a breathtaking read and one I wholeheartedly recommend! 5 #RelationshipGoals Stars

I was so excited to see this book. First of all, I adored Up in the Treehouse. Secondly, the cover is just AMAZING. Be prepared to buckle down, this book is long. This book is about Monica and Zach who we first met in the Up in the Treehouse. Zach is a professional football player and Monica works at the PR firm that he uses. I started this book on a Sunday and if I read during the week, it takes longer as work, kids and life impede my reading and most nights I fall asleep with my kindle. It was no different here. I won't lie. At first Monica was getting on my nerves. Her indifference to starting a relationship with Zach who adored her started to wear on me. But as the story unravels.... you finally hit a point where BAM!!! You totally get it. It feels like you got hit with a baseball bat and everything suddenly makes sense. I actually got to work late at that point because I.couldn't.put.it.down. I actually got teary eyed at certain points during this book. KK Allen is masterful at the way she rolls out a story. Keep in mind this is a slooooooooow burn story, but so worth it!! It can totally be read as a standalone but you should read Up in the Treehouse first because it is an absolutely amazing story.

I forced myself to make it to 33%, then I unfortunately had to stop.
The H, Monica, was so unlikeable that I wondered why Zach was even bothering with her. She was mega standoffish, played hard to get and then wanted to act all heart-hurt when he didn't pay her any mind.
I have no patience for this at the moment.

This book begins with Monica...once again finding herself in a situation where she has a man who is interested in her but she just can't go there. Her childhood issues make it difficult for her to trust men and she is not a relationship kind of girl...especially not with a football player.
But Zach is persistent and won't take no for an answer. The more time Monica and Zach spend together, the closer they become but Monica has a big secret and when the truth comes out, do they have any hope of a future together?
My review:
There were things I really liked about this book and then there were things that I didn't like. First, what I did like.
Zach...such a wonderful man, patient and kind, he gives everything he has to try and gain Monica's love. Even with everything she does to push him away, Zach just keeps coming back for more. The story started a little slow for me but then took off and moved at a good pace for the remainder of the book. There was also a great cast of supporting characters in this one as well that add a lot to the story.
Now to what I didn't like. Monica's secret...when it all came out in the end, I was really bothered and felt like it was something that should been disclosed much earlier in their relationship. I get that she had her reasons but I still wasn't a fan of how it all played out. The other thing was the lack of passion...this one was billed as a heat level of "hot" so I as expecting a lot more. I would say this one should be more "mild". There is all this build up and when they finally get together it was disappointing.

Under The Bleachers is a stellar sports romance. I absolutely loved it. Monica Stevens and Zachary Ryan are compelling and resilient characters. I absolutely love the fun banter between these two. A sugary sweet romance, sensual moments, a bit of sports, a secret, plenty of suspense & a bombshell twist braided together into one scrumptiously ambrosial.
Told in due POV with alternating between the past and the present. This writing style perfectly fits the genre and creates a well crafted story. I found the going back & fourth between the past and the present highly intriguing. I love the title references through out the book. Perfect title for this suspenseful sports romance.
The duet narration done by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross is flawlessly done. These two are able to capture all the hot blooded moments in a way that the characters leap off the page and come to life. The undeniable chemistry between Monica and Zach is shined through the narration.

I had never read anything written by K.K. Allen until I picked up Waterfall Effect....I was hooked. I've devoured all her books in a short period of time.
Under The Bleachers is a fantastic read and I didn't want it to end! I laughed, cried, and got a little bit angry but in the end it was OK. This is one book I will keep in my library for a long time.

K.K. Allen scores a touchdown with Under the Bleachers!
I was first introduced to K.K. Allen when I had a chance to read and review Up in the Treehouse. When reading a new author, you don't know what to expect. Well K.K. blew me away! Up in the Treehouse surpassed anything I could have expected and was one of my top reads of 2016. Needless to say, I was excited to see what K.K. would do next and as soon as Under the Bleachers was announced, I knew I had to read it.
Under the Bleachers is a contemporary romance featuring Monica from Up in the Treehouse. While, Under the Bleachers can certainly stand alone, I highly recommend reading Up in the Treehouse first because it's not only amazing, but it will introduce you to many of the same characters.
Under the Bleachers centers around Monica, a feisty, stubborn, confident, and take charge 20-something, who works at BelleCurve Creative as the office manager. BelleCurve happens to be responsible for the publicity of Seattle quaterback and most sought after bachelor in the city, Zachary Ryan. Monica and Zachary develop this flirtatious relationship and they have fun sparring with each other whenever Zachary stops by the office.
However, the feelings between the two quickly develop into more when Zachary takes Monica out for dinner and desert, after they attend a charity event held by Zachary and put together by BelleCurve. While Zachary is ready to jump all in, Monica's hesitation for anything more leaves him determined to break down her walls. Monica has a secret. A secret that she can't tell Zachary. The troubles of her past will only become the troubles of her present, and possibly future, if she lets Zachary in. There's a reason she's not a relationship type of girl and only sticks to "safe" men, but as Zachary slowly begins to tear down her walls and she finds herself falling for him, she finds it harder to push him away. Will Zachary be able to break down all of Monica's walls? Or will Monica's past catch up to her before she tells Zachary all of her secrets?
What makes K.K. Allen such an amazing contemporary romance author is the fact that she is able to recognize what makes a great story. First off, K.K. creates characters that you can't help but either love or hate (LOVE Zachary, HATE Meredith). An author's ability to create characters with such strong personalities that elicit these strong feelings by the reader is truly a gift. Secondly, Allen creates these relationships between the characters that feel so real by her use of emotions. You are truly able to feel what the characters are feeling. Allen's gift of being so descriptive takes this ability even further. While I was reading Under the Bleachers (and Up in the Treehouse), the description of a character's emotions, down to their facial expressions, allowed me to perfectly picture what the character would look like in that specific scene. It's like I'm watching a movie as I read. It's truly amazing. Finally, K.K. knows what makes a good plot and how to execute it perfectly. She's able to weave in all the separate pieces into a masterpiece! There are twists (a major one that I didn't see coming!) and she never falls into stereotypes that you might find in other novels. For example, in most novels, the hot NFL quarterback is often portrayed as a womanizer with no emotions until he meets the one woman who is able to make him change. You won't find those stereotypes in Under the Bleachers. Allen is also not quick to wrap up the storyline in a neat little bow. She stays true to her characters, while remaining realistic. You won't be left with a fairy tale where the characters walk into the sunset. Rather, you will be left with a realistic ending and hope for the characters' futures. K.K. takes all of these separate aspects and combines them in a way that can only be described as true artistry. I truly believe great things are in store for K.K. and highly recommend jumping on the bandwagon now! I cannot wait to see what she does next!

K.K. takes all of these separate aspects and combines them in a way that can only be described as true artistry. I truly believe great things are in store for K.K. and highly recommend jumping on the bandwagon now! I cannot wait to see what she does next!

K.K. Allen is quickly becoming one of my new favorite authors!
Under the Bleachers centers around Monica from Up in the Treehouse. Monica seems to be stuck in a transition period of her life. Not knowing exactly where her passion lies, she takes a job as office manager at BelleCurve Creative until she can figure it out. BelleCurve just happens to be the same PR agency who represents Zack Ryan, Seattle quarterback and hottest bachelor in the city. As Zack and Monica get to know one another and spend more time together, an attraction begins to form. But Monica hasn't had the easiest past and tends to guard herself at all costs when it comes to love. Zack knows something is holding Monica back from completely opening up to him and he is determined to break through the walls she has put up to guard her heart. Will Zack be able to break through or will Monica's past issues ruin any chance for the relationship before it even begins?
I was first introduced to K.K. Allen when I was given the opportunity to review Up in the Treehouse. I loved it! Easily one of my favorite novels of 2016. So I was excited to see that she had written a companion novel. Typically, for me, it's rare for a second novel in a series to live up to the amazing-ness of the first novel. But Under the Bleachers did not disappoint! This novel was so heartwarming and Allen writes in a way that completely draws you in and makes you fall in love with the characters. The story was so much more than I expected going into reading and I love the underlining message of facing your fears head on and how terrifying that can truly be.
While Under the Bleachers can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Up in the Treehouse. It's just as wonderful as this novel and tells the story of Monica's best friends, Chloe and Gavin.
This book was fantastic and I'm so grateful for being given the opportunity to read it. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing contemporary romance! Job well done K.K. Allen! I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

This is the story of Monica and Zachary. We were blessed to read about them in "Up In The Treehouse"
Monica is a young woman working at a creative agency called BelleCurve. She has some unfinished issues on her past that are hunting her now.
Zach is a successful NFL player, with all that NFL body, playing for Seattle team. He was bullied at his teenage years and now he is trying to show the world how he overcame that.

Ahem! We all know that Zach was into Monica's friend first, but on this book, he is able to explain why he didn't make a move on Monica first. I'm glad he did.

It's palpable how he is captivated by Monica's personality and he's willing to climb all the walls that she tries to put between them.
I really enjoyed the writing. I think I was able to feel all the emotions the author transmitted.
I really really loved the story. I'm so in love with this characters. I want more!

I get so excited when I find an author I have never read before and KK Allen is amazing!!! Under the Bleachers is soooo good.
Monica Aka Cakes refuses to get involved in any long term relationships. At a young age life threw her a curve ball and she finds it impossible to trust. Zach is a star quarterback in the NFL who also happens to carry a bit of baggage. But when you put these two together you get a beautiful angst filled love story with a huge twist. A twist I never saw coming.
This book was such a welcome surprise and I am so thankful I was able to read it. It was incredible and now I want to read everything KK Allen has written.

Every time you open a a book, you take a deep breath and hope that you'll be swept off your feet—lost in the journey with amazing characters, a plot you travel through with them and that you'll feel complete satisfaction once you've read the last page.
After reading Up in the Treehouse, we have to admit that we were a little nervous that Under the Bleachers wouldn't possibly live up to the magic K.k. delivered. And Monica?! We met her in the first book and although Bleachers can be read as a standalone, she's introduced in Treehouse.
Once again, K.k. captured everything we look for in a book.
This is a story about facing your fears head on and the how debilitating they can be when trying to overcome them.
Monica is the type of character you love to hate. She is beautiful, confident and seems to have it all. But not everything is what it seems.
She meets Zachary Ryan, superstar football player who is not only gorgeous, but has a heart of gold.
They're assigned to work together creating a project displaying bullying for BelleCurve, the creative agency where Monica works.
Zach falls hard for Monica, but after being hurt so deeply in the past, she's hesitant to hand over her heart.
We follow these two characters as they navigate the bumps and bruises also known as life and attempt to find where they belong.
We learn so much about Monica along the way—why she struggles to commit and just how far Zach will go to prove he won't give up on her.
K.k. Allen is a fantastic writer who delivered another great story in Under the Bleachers. Zach is for sure a new book boyfriend for us and we can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!!
